Because it doesn’t get as much appreciation as Disney but every song on this soundtrack is a banger

Making you guys pick the movies I see most talked about on here. I just want to know what everyone else likes the most. I only just realized they're all animated 🤷♀️

(The last one had like 3 movies that were not Dreamworks so I'm making one that's only Dreamworks, I picked the most iconic)
Don't forget to reblog to make a larger sample size!

The Prince of Egypt (1998) is a classic that all generations and future generations should enjoy and experience but one thing that future generations will never know is how funny the line “Behold, the power of God” was considering it came out in the exact same era there was a weird ad campaign for cheese with the slogan “Behold the power of cheese.” I was 11 when the movie came out and that’s the exact same time “cheese” is peak humor so I had a hard time keeping it together at that moment
the 90s were something

I would fucking kill to be at the pitch meeting for Prince of Egypt like “no, guys, listen. An animated childrens movie about one of the most horrific displays of God’s power from the Old Testament. It’ll be a musical too. Jeff Goldblum will have 5 lines.”

nowadays, it feels like every time I block or report porn bots on this hellsite, I embody the spirit of that eldritch “angel of death” entity in Dreamworks’ Prince of Egypt by always making sure to check the follower’s blood-soaked doorway (bio headers marked with fandom ravings/consistent reblogs/non-suspicious links) to spare their firstborns (their beloved blogs) from my smiting (blocking and reporting) spree

Do you know somewhere he can be free?

There's a lot of ways in which the Prince of Egypt Hebrew Dub is even better then the original, but today I'm thinking specifically of how instead of asking Hashem to get us to the Promised Land, the words are Eretz Ha'Avot- the Land of our Fathers
This isn't about what we were promised. It's about what we had and lost.

prince of egypt is not a christian movie. the exodus is a jewish story. it’s found in other religions, and can even have a heightened level of significance, like for black (specifically african american) christians. but it is a jewish story from jewish scripture written from a jewish perspective about jewish persecution. enjoy it all you want. but don’t go on about how much you love prince of egypt then erase the fundamental jewish spirit of it.
