OC Ficmas 2022

This year we'll be doing things a little differently.  I'm going to release the masterlist of all the OC fanfics that have been submitted at the beginning. On December 1st, I will release the masterlist.  

Before starting: You must be following me on one of the following platforms to participate: tumblr (arrthurpendragon) or wattpad (arrthurpendragon, obiiwankenobii, or hermiionegrangers) 

Challenge: Try to read a bit and leave a kind review on 25 different stories by New Years! (Key word being try. But this is optional. More fun though)

Fic needs to be published somewhere

You are allowed to submit 2 of your own OC fanfics. (Please send one response per fic. It makes things SO much easier for me)

You are also allowed to submit 2 fics that do not belong to you - but for people you think could use a little holiday cheer!

ll put a cap on the number of stories per author. I'm leaning toward 3 or 4. But I will solidify that number while creating the masterlist.

This form will remain open throughout December. I will do my best to add them to the masterlist throughout the month- please know that those submitted earlier will have more time on the masterlist and a better chance of getting read.

I’m still debating if I’ll make individual posts on my blog. It’s something I would LOVE to do, I’m just not sure what my schedule is going to look like. Crazy for sure, but how crazy I do not know.

That being said, I'm not going to police who has read & reviewed each fic. I will create comments on the Google Doc - so you can say if you read or reviewed and I hope that people would choose fics that haven't received much love. That being said, I will not be policing to make sure each fic gets reviews. Anons sent complaining about this will be deleted and will not be considered in any fashion. Go complain elsewhere. I’m trying to do something to help others - you’re not.

All right so I haven't been active in the Julie and the Phantoms fandom in a long time, and although I know there are definitely still people creating and reblogging in the fandom it tends to be a much smaller handful of people than it used to, which for me felt disheartening and was part of why I've backed off from it. I'd love to see new stuff more regularly and start recirculating older things just to remind myself and anyone else who needs it how much I love this silly little show.

All this to say, I am putting out feelers to see if anyone is interested in a blog that runs consistent, casual event-type things for the fandom to try and revitalize interest in jatp fanworks, like featured weeks for individual characters here, fic rec events, etc. I'm toying with ideas to inspire people to pick up their wips, spark new stories, and highlight older content that didn’t get much attention or would just be nice to see again. I’d like to create a community space to liven the fandom back up for people who miss the show or got into the fandom after the hype died down. Does that seem interesting to anyone?

Under the guidance of the five great clans, the cultivation world had known centuries of peace. alhaitham analysis

When you first meet Alhaitham, he comes across as someone that has a negative EQ. He's curt, rude, and critical. And yet the truth is surprising? Like looking at his character quest and how he basically emotionally manipulated the whole hive into revolting, this man is very emotionally intelligent. You can honestly see it in a lot of his lines too. When he speaks about people, yes, he may sound like he's simplifying or trivializing things too much, but he's not wrong. He understands people. He knows how they work. It's just that he views emotional labor as too much of a hassle majority of the time.

Spoilers below the cut

You can gather a lot about Alhaitham through Kaveh's character stories. Like while it may not seem like it, Alhaitham is genuinely trying to help Kaveh. He points out to Kaveh that the source of his problems isn't luck, but his sense of impractical idealism and inescapable guilt. Some may say Alhaitham lacked tact when saying this, but it was kindness on Alhaitham's part. Once someone can acknowledge the truth, no matter how hurtful, they can then make the needed changes for the better. When they met up again years later, Alhaitham asked him, "How has realizing your ideals gone for you?" This wasn't done out of a sense of pettiness, but to solidify the truth once more. It was to help.

I think if you don't know someone that operates in this way, Alhaitham's love language may be difficult to decipher. His words may seem cruel. It may seem like he's trivializing your problems. But to speak truth is to show that you're not a lost cause. He has proven he won't abandon you along the way. After all, to speak truth, no matter how hurtful, is to show love.

This blog is getting barely any interaction, which is truly sad. Most posts get under ten notes, and I haven't gotten any new fic recs since the year started.

It's disheartening, honestly, to put all this work into the rec posts (including deciding which fics to rec when I don't have submissions!) and have so little interaction on them. Letters to MBTI: ESFJ

Dear ESFJs,

My opposite! You and I... we don't tend to run in the same social circles, most of the time lmao. But you know what, that's okay! I recognize that just because we aren't incredibly close, doesn't mean I don't see you and appreciate everything you do.

Our cognitive functions appear in reverse order and nothing reminds me of that better than getting to spend time with one of you. You find ways to be pragmatic, punctual, and inclusive of everybody in ways that I can't even manage to do in my dreams.

And when I say inclusive of everybody, usually, that extra effort goes towards making sure that people like me are included and welcomed to the group/community activities, and I really can't express how grateful I am for that. Or rather, usually, I couldn't express that because it's hard to do that verbally when you feel socially awkward, but here, I'm gonna let it rip.

So let's get into it!

I've found myself in enough social situations where I felt a bit like an outcast wallflower (which can earn you points on the internet, but not so much irl lmao), and it's the healthy ESFJ who recognizes this and decides to make the concentrated effort to help break the ice when I'm not quite sure how.

You never run out questions to ask to keep the conversation going and you always find a way to make me (and probably the other introverts) feel like we have a voice and a place at the table in any social setting. Especially when everyone else present knows each other and I'm the new person. This is such an important skill you have and I don't think you hear enough thanks from the people you help, most likely because we don't always know how best to say it.

Not to mention that you are likely the one who organized whatever event is happening, which most people take for granted. It's not easy being the one to accommodate everyone's schedules and coordinate all of the necessary components for social gatherings.

Or business gatherings! It's not all just birthday parties and baby showers with you guys; you've got serious business to get through, and all the while have to remember things like dietary restrictions, seating arrangements, appropriate time slots for all facets of the gathering. You're the one who has planned out the whole day from start to finish, hearding everyone else around, and everyone else has the luxury of going along with all of it without even noticing.

An introverted perceiver like me doesn't know the half of the hard work it takes to make these things happen!

I hope that it is as helpful to you to have me brainstorming new, potential solutions to your technical problems as it is to me when you make sure that everything is going according to plan and everyone gets the chance to comfortably and genuinely participate in all of our collaborative events.

You really do examplify everything I'd like to be better at. Maybe we should hang out more! We may not always have the most in common with our interests, but I think we could learn a lot from each other. Keep doing what you're doing ESFJs. You really are the glue that holds us all together and makes everyone feel safe!

Hi! I’m looking for someone who I can work with more long term instead of having to find someone whenever I write a new fic. I’ll include both what I would want from a beta and the things that I usually write

Grammar and sentence structure (I’m not a native speaker and sometimes write with swedish sentence structure)

Punctuation, spelling, phrasing, word choice, synonyms, etc

Pacing

Plot holes

I often leave a bunch of questions throughout the text for my beta, such as how to phrase a certain sentence, if scenes are necessary for the plot, etc

I’d like us to do a test run where we’re compatible to work together before we decide on anything, where we’re both open to the fact that we might say we don’t want to work together more. Sometimes people don’t fit and that’s okay!
