After restoring all realities, Allura ascended into a higher realm of Connected Consciousness. A mysterious quartz wall separates her from an unknown entity emanating a purple light, and she must follow a dark path to discover its secret. An unexpected visit from another dimension will come to her aid. *A Lotura, Plance & Sheith post-Season 8 Fix-it, where I take the pieces we were left with and slowly rebuild the VLD story, with the help of an old show, called Saber Rider and the Star Sheriffs (also owned by the IP holder of Voltron DotU). If you’re scared of crossfics (I am too), the story takes place mostly in the VLD dimension, the Star Sheriffs are supporting characters meant to assist the VLD story and the SRatSS backstories are properly introduced in the first few chapters. * You might find some illustrations in here, when inspo hits me.

“Just the two of us now. We have to figure out a way to the other side,” Pidge dropped the pistol into Allura’s undecided palm, and rushed towards the source of heat.

  “Pidge, it’s a trap, don’t go there!” Allura waived one hand after her, while the other maintained hold of the frightful little weapon. A strange creeping sensation settled inside her fingers - perhaps because she knew what that weapon did, just a little while ago. How could she… how in the stars would she use this tool in clear conscience?

  “It’s the only way. I’m not sure how, but I feel it!” Pidge shouted back at her from afar. Being inclined to mainly trust her logic, she hadn’t felt things in that certain way in a very long time. Ever since… well, ever since she and Allura wandered through the desolate forests of the shattered Olkarion. And now, again, the bitter roots within the tunnels, the delicate tendrils and astride rhizomes buried beneath the soil , they all fired their converging energies, like connected axons in a great neural network, linking the two hemispheres. We are all made up of the same cosmic dust, all arranged by the laws of mathematics. The left brain and the right brain awoke as one - both sides of the lake humming in one voice, whispering in her ear something urgent.

  “Lance…” she hurtled through the blinding light of the portal.

“Do you know who I saw today?” Shay got down to business without preamble.

She came at Hunk’s work place for literally fifteen minutes to drink coffee and run away further.

“Who?” Hunk lovingly slipped Shay new profiteroles and listened with half an ear.

“Pidge and Lance!”

“So what?” Hunk shrugged his shoulders. “They hang out together all the time.”

“Oh, no, it was different.”

“Why?” Hunk didn't understand. “They're friends. We often hang with them too.”

“Yeah, but I'm afraid they wouldn't be happy to see us today,” Shay chuckled, hiding her smile behind a cup of coffee.

“Why not?”

Shay leaned over and beckoned Hunk to her, and then in a whisper, as if it was the greatest secret, said, “They were kissing.”

“Pidge and Lance?” Hunk's eyes widened. “It can't be! They're… they're…”

“Friends. I know. But, apparently, friendship has reached a new level. It’s amazing! We can go on double dates.”

“But we're-” Hunk began, but stopped, trying to remember if there was anything strange in Pidge and Lance’s behavior, but nothing came to mind. “I just can’t believe it.”

“I knew,” Shay shrugged and put a new profiterole in her mouth. “Sooner or later something had to change between them.”

“But they're friends! It violates every meaning of friendship! If we follow this logic, then Lance could kiss Keith, and Keith could kiss Shiro. We are all friends, one big company.”

“Honey,” Shay covered Hunk's hand with her own, “calm down. You just didn't notice, but I saw how Lance looks at her, and how Pidge reacts to him.”

Hunk was not fully convinced, but he trusted his girlfriend in amorous matters. Maybe he just didn't notice…

Literally that same evening, Hunk made sure that Shay was right.

The coffee shop was getting ready to close, Hunk turned off the main light and was putting things in order in the room when he was attracted by movement outside the window. It was raining. Suddenly under the streetlamp, which was located just next to the entrance to the coffee shop, a couple stopped. They kissed passionately under the umbrella. The girl was petite, and she had to reach out to her boyfriend, who leaned towards her, pressing her with one hand and holding the umbrella firmly with the other.

Hunk chuckled and turned away when recognition suddenly shot through him like an electric current. He turned to the window again. The kissers were still there, they didn't break away from each other. Hunk took a few quiet steps toward the door. The couple couldn't see him, but he could make out their faces perfectly in the light of the lantern. “Oh. My. God! It's Lance and… and Pidge!”

Then Lance broke away from Pidge's lips, they laughed at something and went their way hand in hand, leaving Hunk alone to digest what he saw.

ok so back in the day i kinda shipped plance and I just had this idea where pidge, lance and hunk are eating in the kitchen or sth and someone (maybe keith or allura) tells them not to lick their fingers and then pidge just says sth like 'but there still is food in my fingers' and lance just says 'i can take care of that' and licks her fingers and they both are a blushing mess and then the rest in the room are just, awkward silence

it also works for klance if you think that maybe keith would be reluctant to lick the food off his fingers and i am 100% that flirty/horny loverboy lance would willingly take his lover's fingers to his mouth

Been missing plance lately, and the internal struggle on whether to rewatch the show or not is so real

Aaaah sorry for the slow response. Life's been so busy!! Let me see... I stumbled on the trailer for Season 2 back when the show was still running, maybe four seasons or so were out? I can't remember where it was - Youtube? Reddit? I remember chuckling at one of the jokes and thinking the art looked a bit nice, for a Western cartoon. I'm primarily an anime fan you see, very skeptical of everything else. I decided to try it out in any case, and stuck with it in the end! Searching for fan content online is actually what got me to join Tumblr ^^;;

Favorite character is Allura! She's just. Very important to me.

Favorite lion is green, Kitty Rose! I dunno I like the power set and green is nice.

My favorite pairing is Kallura, they just have a lot of thematic parallels that'd take too long to list but I've made a bunch of posts and such. I think they mesh well together, provide the right balance to bring out the best in each other. Like their character arcs naturally weave together so perfectly, too bad the later seasons dropped the ball on that but that's what fanfic is for amirite?

Plance comes in a veeery close second, mostly I just like goofy guy x nerdy girl stuff, Lance should have realized he was in love with Pidge all along. I can't even get into it, like. She was right there. The best choice.
