Sunday is so a girl and boy dad.

Reason why I say this is because he likely needs an heir to take over his position when he gets too old to do so, but he also wants a baby girl he can spoil as well.

Don’t worry! He loves both of his kids the same! They’re the greatest things that have probably ever happened to him and he cherishes them with his whole life. He thanks the stars above every single day for the opportunity he received to be a father to multiple beautiful children, and thanks you for granting him the chance. 

Dunno, but I could see this man wanting a handful of kids. He wants at least one girl and at least one boy, but I could see him shooting for 3-4. Will he be around to care for them? Not all the time, but he tries his hardest (and he definitely has the resources to care for that many).

Considering they’re half halovian and half human, they look pretty much just like their father! Some have your eyes, but they all have his hair. His hair and his gorgeous wings. They have your features though, such as your face, body type, etc.

His favorite part of the day is when he gets to collapse on your shared bed, his kiddos following behind him to cuddle their dad, and most of the time you all fall asleep together. Normally, you wake up just you and him because he’s good about putting them in their own bed once they fall asleep.

Once his kids get older, he’ll teach his son(s) combat and good form. He wants them to protect, and wants to raise them to be strong and independent. With his daughter(s), if they ask to be taught combat, then he won’t see much of an issue with it. He also wants to teach them independence, but in a more subtle form. 

Just expect that his children as teenagers are going to be the prettiest kids around holy shit. They’re obviously enrolled in a private school due to their fathers high status but they always come home and list the compliments they’ve received that day. Thankfully you two have raised them well enough for them to realize that it’ll be bad if all of these get to their head and stroke their ego too hard…

His daughter knows western culture fresh out of the womb my friend. It’s like she was born for little cowboy boots and the cutest little cowboy hat. She’s even got a western name, he brought it up and you liked it, so the name you two settled on was Cassidy.

She has his hair! It’s absolutely gorgeous once it starts coming in- a pearly white color with little black streaks stemming from the roots. She has your eyes and your face, and his slimmer body type (before he was turned into a cyborg. This isn’t canon I actually have no clue what he looked like pre cyborgification lmao).

Oh lord, your daughter is so spoiled. On every mission he goes on he’s always bringing something back for her. It could be a super fancy necklace or even just a little trinket he picked up from a street vendor, but she has a whole shelf full of the things her daddy gives her.

She thinks it’s so cool he has a metal body. She asks about it alot but she’s really fascinated with it tbh. She likes to call it “daddy’s special feature!” and he always melts to that sentence gosh

He probably teaches his daughter how to use a gun when she gets older. He, similar to Sunday, wants his daughter to learn self defense tactics and learn how to fend for herself when necessary.

She totally has his accent. Change my mind period.

May I ask how you made the shaker charms? I've been wanting to do that a while but no clue how to.

aight so I'mma go into this with a lil assumption that there's some prior knowledge about making digital art but if you have any questions about anything, you can definitely ask!

so first step is finding a place that can make you the shaker charms. I use vograce - it's a lil more expensive than other places but I like the customer service and low minimum order amount. they have a specific tab just for shaker charms that breaks them down into what options you can pick, sizes, what the art files need to be like, etc that you can take a looksie just to see how they're made. I like to see in the comments at the bottom too to see what neat things people have made.

and this is what my art looks like (minus the background). I made the main shaker with plenty o' room to shake around the bits inside. and then the pieces to the right. the gate itself is around 1300px wide, 600dpi (which is tbh a lot, 300dpi is fine) — big enough so when it's shrunk to charm size it doesn't lose too much quality. save them out as transparent pngs separately (the main shaker + pieces). most places prefer CMYK color profiles but I'm a scrub that doesn't use that so I go with RGB and it works just fine. if you have the ability to preview color profiles, I go with CMYK: Japan Color 2001 Coated to help me adjust my colors for print.

then I made a draft of what I wanted it to look like when finished, specifically showing how the text should not flip the wrong way on the reverse side. I also put the bits inside but the manufacturer should be able to figure it out anyway lol. the dots atop the charms are where I want the hole to be for the chain. I send this to the manufacturer too just to make sure we're on the same page.

send the files to whoever is making the charm and that's about it. the hardest part really is making the art assets. there's no real rule to anything, I just eyeballed it all tbh.

the most important part imo is making sure everything's big enough (1000px, 300dpi or larger for the main shaker part imo) and making sure your colors are okay because what you see on screen can be pretty different in actual print. that requires a lil research like purple for example sometimes shows up like ass when printed.

as for sizing, that's very much up to you. sometimes making paper models to hold irl can help you decide how big you want things. I went thru 3? iterations of just this charm alone cuz I wasn't happy with the sizing or colors so I had to make a few adjustments. I often ask manufacturers for previews of my charms before they actually make them just to be sure they followed my draft.

this is the final version (ignore the scratches, that's just the film you gotta peel off). I also requested for sequins to be put in. the inside bits may come out a tad smaller than compared to my draft, just due to compensating for the outside border around the bits but more or less it's what I drew 👍

unlike the atou art this one wasn't originally pixel art, i rendered it the way i normally do n used a grunge dot brush on top to sort of mimic dithering, then when i found an auto action for actual dithering in csp i shrunk the resolution (with hard edges on) to pixelate it - then used the dither on some parts

jtl07 fics, 2023 round up(ish)

So I do an admittedly intense EOY reflection / SOY preparation every December but I’ve never really done a review of my writing for the year. Part of it is that, after over a decade of not writing fic, I didn’t start writing fic again until 2021. Crazy enough, my output this year was more than those two years combined (almost twice over!).

Tbh part of me almost felt guilty to realize that. I mean, here I am, recovering from one of the hardest times in my life, writing fic. But then a small part of me whispered, what’s wrong with that? Just because I’m healing doesn’t mean I have to suffer.

So I’m trying to take joy in what I’ve done this year and honestly, I’m proud what I’ve written. I truly cannot pick out a favorite because all of them mean so much to me. As I mentioned in the last fic review, reading and writing fic has played a huge role in how I process things and express myself; to have had this time to relearn how to write (with all its frustration and joy), to discover new things, to explore new characters, to connect with so many folks, it’s meant a lot. It’s helped me move forward, it’s helped me hold on.

So thank you - you, reading this, y’all who’ve read anything I’ve written, who’ve liked and left kudos and comments and messages - thank you, so, so much.

Because I’m me, I went into nerd-mode and used Flamebyrd’s ao3 bookmarklet to pull my fic stats earlier this month. I drew up some tables and charts and used lots of colors (what’s a spreadsheet without conditional formatting?)

(just one of the many sheets in the workbook I drew up lol)

After looking at different interactions (hits, kudos, comments, percentages of each), I came up roughly with my “top” fics and “bottom” fics (focusing on avatrice fics because that was the bulk of my writing this year).

Top 5:

I’m not surprised by the surveys fic being at the top - I still giggle at that one and it gets kudos pretty regularly. It’s easy to read with a unique premise and I’m generally happy with the execution.

I am surprised, however, that propose shot up so high so quickly - the top three had been published early in the year (Feb-Mar) but propose was posted just last month. I suppose there was something about the premise - a different take on an Avatrice proposal - that must have resonated with folks.

Bottom 5: 18. so different now from what it seemed 19. we both know how this ends 20. the long, delirious, burning blue 21. late night vigil 22. can’t go back

I’m curious about the ranking of some of these fics - for example, that melts the blood inside our veins was my first amnesia fic and is in the top 5, but my second amnesia fic, so different now from what it seemed, is in the bottom 5. Perhaps it’s the difference in premise, perhaps the execution - who knows. (I’m not mad, just “huh.”)

I’m not surprised about the others though: a video game crossover, a military propaganda movie AU, an Avatrice+Cam threesome (fun fact: the doc title was simply “ABC” for a while lol), and a moody “what if” speculation - none of them fit the mold of “popular” lol

Now that I think of it, though, I did try new things with some of these fics: the tone and action of we both know how this ends is one I don’t usually do; I rarely do a retelling of other media (I know the long, delirious, burning blue doesn’t follow the Maverick movie exactly but still), not to mention having that twist at the end; I’m still very much learning how to be comfortable writing intimacy (I still don’t know where late night vigil came from lol); and can’t go back was an exercise that stretched my brain thinking of the different ways Beatrice’s life could have changed.

Slight tangent: I am, however, surprised that pocketful was so low - it’s #17 in the rankings (it’s just shy of 900 hits as of this writing) - only because I thought it got quite the heartwarming response initially. I received some of my favorite comments on that one (though to be clear, I love all the comments I receive! Such gifts, comments) That said, I can acknowledge that the premise does sound a bit odd. I mean, cmon, a fic about pockets? What even?

That said, I can’t promise that my ideas won’t be any less weird next year lol. There are some ideas that I think will carry over but I’m certain there will be plenty of new and unusual ideas that will pop into my head in the year to come.

I also can’t promise that my output will be as high as it was this year, what with some upcoming changes to my life (new job! moving, hopefully relatively soon, to a new state!) and general life-ness. I do intend to keep writing, though, at least that’s the goal.

2. Which of your WIPs is currently the longest?

True Colors! I have about 33k posted and 1.6k written for the next chapter, but it's not even halfway done. Of just drafts/unposted, Rust, sitting pretty at 16k words for a one-shot.

3. Which WIP do you expect will end up the longest?

True Colors, easy. I'm expecting it to end somewhere around 80-90k with the rate I'm currently going at. But, Rust is part of a bigger series, and I have no idea how long that will run.

4. Which WIP is your favourite to write/the most enjoyable to write? Why?

I haven't started yet bc I'm saving it for nanowrimo but the (not) Threesome fic is fully outlined and is calling out to me literally every day.

5. Which WIP do you find the most intimidating to write? Why?

Not intimidating but writing Flower Soulmates has been. Challenging. I want so desperately for everything to make sense and flow and it's probably the most serious, and it's going to be a lot bigger than I initially intended for it to be. That is a little overwhelming sometimes so it's been sitting for a while.

6. Which WIP do you experience the most self-doubt about. Why?

Uhhh all of them? I don’t tend to trust myself or like my fics until like a week after their posted tbh

7. Which of your WIPs will you seek out a beta/sensitivity reader for? Why?

I have a few on Rust just bc of the sheer length of it. I'd prob at least get a consultant for the Coach au bc it's in a spot I don't know much about (NYC + Law school heavy) so I want to make sure I'm not offending everyone on the east coast. Also Flower Soulmate is so special to me that I'm going to want someone to pick it apart with a fine-toothed comb.

8. Have any of your WIPs been struck by the curse of writer's block?

TRUE COLORS I'm so sorry everyone who follows it. Something about the chapter I'm on being the most uhhhh lined out for me without much wiggle room killed my creativity. Also the flower soulmate au for a bit. Again, it follows canon so like. Sticking to the word of the book is a little boring

9. Which WIP has your favourite OC? Tell us about them?

The only named OC is currently in (Not) Threesome. He's been my baby since I was 16 (so 6 years now). He started off as a SPN OC literally so I could write a silly little one-off about him helping Dean figure out he's bi, and now he just vibes and I love him. His name is Dio and he's a WHORE (affectionate).

10. Which WIP is the sexiest?

True Colors. Literally a rewrite of all the RWRB sex scenes. It's literally nothing BUT sex.

11. Which WIP is the angstiest?

Probably Flower Soulmates. The whole concept revolves around soulmate injuries, and while nothing non-canon happens to the boys, it does follow canon typical angst. Basically none of the others do that. They're pretty fluffy or sexy and that's it.

12. Which WIP has the best characterisation (in your humble opinion)?

I have to say True Colors only because I'm reeeallllyyyyyy trying to keep the characters book accurate. It's an expansion of the book, so I've been paying close attention to how they talk and act and making sure they're as close as I can get.

13. Which WIP has the best scene setting (in your humble opinion)?

None of them have a particularly fun setting lol, I'm not much off a world builder. I think that Rust and it's following fics are going to be really fun, though.

14. Which WIP have you worked the hardest on?

True Colors literally only on the basis of how long it already is and how long it will be.

15. Which WIP do you have the highest expectations for? Why?

True Colors and Flower Soulmates. True Colors bc it's my most watched and I keep comparing it to the books. Flower Soulmate because of everything I've explained above.

16. Do you dream about any of your WIPs?

I don't remember any of my dreams so maybe! Couldn't tell ya.

17. Do any of your WIPs have particular complexities that your other fics don't?

Flowers is just heavier than the rest, True Colors I feel needs to be correct to the book. Diabetic au I feel good about bc it's personal experience but having to deal with medical accuracies and also another version where Alex has a service dog and all that shit entails.

18. Which WIP is the funniest or has the most humour?

I think Rust is generally pretty funny and I think the Coach au is going to be fun when I get to it

19. Do any of your WIPs contain outside POVs or a deep dive on a character other than the main ship? How are you finding that process?

Not especially? (Not) Threesome does feature an OC of mine who we learn a bit about but it's still from a familiar POV, so like. Doesn't count.

20. Tell us one thing we don't know about one or more of your WIPs.

Diabetic Alex au has two major, distinct parts. There's a 5+1 of mundane diabetic bullshit bc I felt like the only diabetic RWRB fics glamorized and made diabetes this massive fucking thing when it's not. The other is a rewrite featuring Peter, Alex's diabetic alert dog and how that changes everything from the get go (Philip is a fuckwad, spoilers). Also that this whole idea was how @inexplicablymine and I became friends

3. What are the hardest parts of the drawing process for you?

I'd say starting the drawing. The beginning of a drawing requires a lot of decisions, and I'm not really that good at decision making.

First I have to decide what to draw, and how to draw it. I have a few different styles that require me to approach the piece in a different way than with the others. Then there's composition! Oh Boy! ;w;

But once I manage to start, it's usually smooth sailing from there :)

8. What are the things you admire in other people's art?

Quite a lot of things. I admire people who have intresting color or composition choice. Some people have very impactful line art and their art has lots of strong shapes that I'm very drawn to.

I'm also usually quite lazy when it comes to my art, so my pieces usually lack fine detail if I'm just making art for myself. When people put the effort into making very detailed art, I'm usually very impressed and maybe even a bit jelous tbh XD

11. Is there something you're working on improving in your art, or that you'd like to work on?

Something I'm currently working on is my rendering process. My aim is to make my art look more dynamic with lighting and shadows. Color choice is also something that I'm trying to improve on.

far left is an old oc some ppl may recognize, her name is hope loomis! Shes a (lvl 70) witchdoctor, blind, and captain of a pirate crew. shes no longer my main oc but i still love her and her crew :P

Since hes relevant to her ill go out of order and say him now: the one in the middle is lawrence nightingale, part of hope's crew, her best friend, a musketeer. (Hes my main pirate for playing, hes lvl 70) He has a bit of a sour disposition and he and hope argue a lot but they care for each other a lot. I also ship him with kane hehehe

Ok middle left is catalina, like i mentioned earlier. Actually ive posted him before, hes a catalan shapeshifter who likes to pretend to be a human amongst people to troll them mostly teehee :P hes a (lvl 46) witchdoctor in game but in his lore he just knows some magic.

Next to catalina is the aforementioned Mina mitchell, shes a (lvl 65) swashbuckler and an emo girl. I dont have much lore for her to be honest but shes just so cute and awesome. She has spiky short twin pigtails. I think ive posted a drawing of her on this blog before under her tag mina

Middle right (orange) is Maeve, shes part of my new main crew! (The other 2 arent in game) shes a (lvl 7, bc i KEEP REMAKING MY BUCKS) buccaneer. Shes also part fox and from marleybone! shes really cool and awesome and sweet and shes best friends with shannon (leader of her crew).

Right is Stormy Edwards, hes kinda new and also his character looks nothing like his actual design lol other than that hes green. Hes a privateer (lvl 7, again i keep remaking themmmm) and hes EVIL!<3 he also has a toxic gay thing going on with vito (witchdoctor with maeve and shannon) and hes just kinda fucked up :P

34: what are the hardest and easiest parts of the game for you?

OK SOOOOO I love the strategy of it all TBH. It was really hard at first but ive picked it up pretty well i think. The hardest part was figuring out how to do gear correctly and what stats to prioritize, which im probably still not perfect at but i think ive gotten it down now. I also hate ship fighting 😭 But yeah easiest is probably just combat i love it i love the battle system. And to be MORE specific ranged combat is easiest for me.

I made a httyd ava/m au lol

Details under the cut cause this will be a long one

To start off with, the dragons!

Now an explanation on my choices

1. Purple as a human(or stick figure ig): this one was something I was struggling with bc I wasn't sure if I wanted purple to be a dragon or not but I decided on purple as the hiccup of this au bc it fits really well

Orange/tsc as a stormcutter- orange was probably one of the hardest to figure out because I was going for a mix of personality and color. I picked stormcutter bc it looks orange and white and it's a very intelligent and skilled dragon

The chosen one as a night fury- this one's probably a pretty obvious one considering that chosen and night furys are both some of the more powerful characters in their media. It also makes a good opportunity for chosen to have some big trust issues before meeting purple

The dark lord as a deathgripper- honestly one I decided on immediately bc it just fit way too well, especially since deathgrippers were a big enemy in the 3rd movie

Red as a monstrous nightmare- this one feels the most like a reach to me. I picked monstrous nightmare for red bc of a line on the wiki stating that "in battle, they are said to be the first to arrive and the last to leave" which fit red pretty well imo

Blue as a deadly nadder- blue was also a really difficult one to figure out, then I was like "deadly nadders can fire spikes from their tail and that's kinda like a bow and arrow" and thats how I picked it lol

Yellow as a triple stryke- felt like a reach at first but the more I thought about it the more it fit. Since it's a part of the strike class, triple strykes are hyper intelligent and very skilled which fits for yellow

Green as a terrible terror- at first it was just bc I found it funny but then it made sense lmao. Terrible terrors are able to "sing" and despite being small are still a feared dragon. Also, a terrible terror was originally supposed to take toothless' place so I wanted to have a nod to that in this au

Victim as a night terror- I originally wanted to make victim a flightmare but night terror fit better tbh. I wanted to refrence the clones that victim made in the first ava video and night terrors are a good way to do that

King orange/mango as a deathsong- I originally didn't even plan on adding mango to this au but deathsong fit too well not to (also having purple without mango didn't feel right lol). Yes mango is going to attempt takeover of the world via song

Plot: follows the basic plot of the first 2 httyd movies but there will be a ton of canon divergence bc its my au and I do what I want /lh

so extremely late to do this so I’m just doing it all in one post!!

1) sumire no hana - new favorite

I became a fan in late 2021 so almost all of my current favorite siennes are ones I fell in love with this year… for actresses already in the theatre id definitely say I become such a huge fan of towaki sea!! she is such an incredible singer and is able to be such a wonderful otokoyaku and an enchanting onnayaku. as for new girls, I’ve been keeping my eye on shiragiri tsubaki!

2) never say goodbye - hardest to say goodbye to

100% oto kurisu, she was such a standout in hanagumi and it was never a dull moment when she was on stage. She’s such an amazing performer and singer. I’m so glad she’s on Instagram now and I’m so excited for her future projects!

3) material girl - favorite merchandise

I was able to go to quartre reves and takarazuka an for the first time this year since i was in japan, so I think my favorite pieces of merch are all the bromides I was able to buy! going to the stores in person was such an amazing experience I’m so grateful for. I think my most treasured though is my yuzuka rei clear card, she’s been to so many places with me!

4) mon paris - new favorite show not from this year

2004 phantom!!! idk how I found it but I’m so glad I did. wao youka is just so incredible…. her portrayal of erik is maybe one of the best performances I’ve ever seen tbh… I’m so obsessed with her voice. her acting as well is so fantastic, the scene where christine is singing to erik trying to convince him to take his mask off is a work of art. you can see all the emotions erik is feeling so clearly, you see this hope in his eyes as christine continues to sing. also the way wao youka is styled in the show is so dated but i think it fits so well. she has these very prominent shoulder pads that look a little silly at first but I’ve grown to love it so much. I love the other versions of the show (esp 2018) but 2004 hold such a special place in my heart.

5) wings of the heart - favorite fandom memory

I had so many fun streaming experiences this year! I’m so lucky to have had the time to attend as many as it did. I think maybe the most impactful fandom moment was just walking around the tokyo takarazuka theatre and seeing all the other people taking pictures with and gushing about posters outside. such a crazy feeling as an international fan to see that so many other people share the same love you do

6) where is god - shocking hankyu announcement

maitis senka transfer and yurika + kano taidan!! for yurika and kano I guess it makes sense, but I feel like having any top star retire is surprising to me. yurika has been the only face of soragumi I’ve known, so it’s going to feel strange having a new top star but I’m so excited to see who it’s going to be. maitis senka transfer is a bit puzzling to me but I know she’s going to be amazing in whatever she does next.

7) the final dance - favorite duedan

saki and kiwas duedan in soukyuu no subaru. I was able to see the show in person which I think made it so much more powerful. I could feel their connection much better. I swear I was tearing up watching it. the reality of kiwas taidan hit me like a bus during it, and I felt so honored to be able to see one of their last dances together

8) my everlasting dream - most rewatched show

it’s a revue but probably beautiful garden! I put on shows a lot in the background while doing work and beautiful garden was this years top pick. I love the music so much and so many of my favorite siennes are in it! I love flower theme so much and the costumes especially!! purple and pink are my favorite colors and this revue has so much of them

9) fascinating rhythm - song that got stuck in my head

continuing the last one a bit, the theme song of beautiful garden got stuck in my head so often. especially senna ayase’s part! it’s such a catchy theme!! and the performance of it is so lovely

10) diamonds are a girls best friend - favorite costumes

such a difficult question because I really love the costumes of takarazuka, especially ones with frills and ruffles… there’s just so many to chose from. I think I’m going to say all of the costumes from genroku baroque rock. I love Japanese traditional clothing and it combined with takarazuka’s flair was such a treat. I love madoka’s costume during lucky koi koi. it’s so detailed and I love the way it moves. all the different patterns on it make me want to look at it forever.

11) cool beast!! - most ridiculous costumes

definitely not the most ridiculous, more like my favorite silly costumes are hozumi mahiro’s in top hat as beddini

12) greatest moment - special stage moment

the parade in soukyuu no subaru. being able to applaud for the actresses was such an honor to participate in. it was such a thrilling experience

13) favorite musical

genroku baroque rock! it’s very special to me for being one of the first musicals I saw. it matches my tastes very well and it’s maybe my favorite musical visually.

14) favorite revue

the fascination!!! I love this revue so much!!! pink is my favorite color so of course the costumes to me are so fantastic. especially the parade costumes… madoka’s dress is just so gorgeous. rei’s carnivorous flower is one of my favorite costumes and performances. I love the music in the revue so much too! rei singing in English and anytime hitoko sings are my favorites (of course I also love fashionable empire but I just haven’t watched it enough..)

9. What is your biggest challenge when creating?

oh gosh what isn't a challenge tbh ... i think for me it's always just getting out of my head and finding smth to make that's the most challenging :0 i got progressively pickier about the things i choose to gif and that means sometimes i won't make stuff at all (unless the brainrot wins <//3) so yea finding smth that sparks my interest ! is probably the hardest part ! i won't make smth unless i'm sure i can do it well ^^ (or i have no other choice bc i'm down so bad ... LOL) and then after i'd say coloring ... bc i'm really picky ... about that too

14. Do you like to take requests? Why or why not?

i do ! and i don't LOL i don't like making compilation sets if people request those bc going clip hunting uses up a lot of time ? i think but i also love when people give me specific moments they want giffed too ! so it's like a double edged sword ... (i have a request for giffing the vrvr x too rtk stage sitting in my inbox since forever but bc i can't find a cut ts file for it ... i haven't gotten around to it...)

17. Where do you find inspiration?

as a gifmaker ? mostly from other gifmakers ! i see a lot of coloring + sharpening styles from everyone and although i have my own set style it's always interesting to see what other people do with coloring the same vids sometimes :0 and bc of that i like picking and choosing cool things other gifmakers do with their colorings and incorporating them into my own sometimes ^^

Genre: Fantasy

What is it about: A bunch of teenagers who get involved in a secret magic society and are now trying to prevent it from going to war

Who is in it:

Kaiki (he/him) - I. I'm still trying to flesh him out. He's a complicated guy. He's transgender, ambue (the word I picked for non-magic people), and became a magician kind of by accident. Currently, at Onemia there is this phenomena happening where some weird magic stuff is happening, including turning ambue into magicians. This is the character I have the hardest time with, tbh.

Arielle (they/she) - Main traits: Paficist, stoic, responsible, emotional. She is a natural Onemian (Onemia is the magical country) and works as a junior patroillueur. The Patrol is a part of Onemia’s military force and their job is to prevent the ambue world (aka non-magic world) of getting troubled by magic or finding out about Onemia. They care a lot but don’t seem like so. Tall af.

Lis (she/her) - Main traits: Chaotic dumbass, girly, cute. Lis is also ambue (non-magic) and became a magician by accident. She is albino, dyslexic, and likes lots of colorful cutesy stuff. She has a feisty personality and she masks some of her insecurities. Lis doesn’t have many difficulties with magic, and tbh, she’s great at it.

Lucy (she/it) - Main traits: Insecure, soft, smart. Lucy is ambue, and she is a very low-energy calm person. She’s trans, gnc, and sometimes lets people misgender her coz she thinks it’s nothing worth the trouble. She is the only one in the main cast who is neither Onemian nor Brazilian: She is actually Usamerican (her father is half-British and her mom is Brazilian). She grew up in the US but came to her grandmother’s house to study here in her second year of highschool. When speaking in pPortuguese she just uses she/her cuz there is no it/its in the language.

Lali (he/him) - Main traits: Flamboyant, confident, stubborn. Lali is a natural onemian like Arielle and is quite a celebrity. He is very very talented at magic and comes from a wealthy magician family. In his introdution in the storyline, Arielle is hired to protect him as a bodyguard, because the guy who originally had the job kept misgendering him and Lali is known for being hotheaded and not colaborating with people he doesn't like. He is gnc.

Simba (he/him) - Main traits: Empathetic, does what it needs to be done, quiet, intimidating, quick. Simba is the prince of Onemia. I have a hard time defining his family lore but his mom is the Grand-Countess, kind of like the queen of Onemia, and his other mother is an important politican. Technically Onemia is not a monarchy and the charge is not passed foward for heirs BUT to be the Gran-Countex you have to have a lot of things in your curriculum like having political and military training and the current ruler always make sure that their heir has the necessary formation, so it isn't uncommon for a singke family to stay in power for a couple regenerations, as it is the current case. Simba is supposed to be the third ruler on his bloodline and he is on a magic military academy for his formation. He is also not very fleshed out.

Note: Hard magic system.

Secondary characters:

Giulia (she/her) - A nice girl who is Arielle's coworker and queerplatonic partner. She is like. A sunshine. Patrollieur. I will flesh her out better later but I love her.

Luna (she/her) - Kaiki's sister. They're around the same age and have a love/hate relationship. Sarcastic, seems confident, but actually is very troubled.

Tatiana (she/her) - Luna and Kaiki's older sister. She's on college and is autistic. She cares a lot about her siblings and usually tries to prevent them from getting at eachother's throats.

Estella (she/her) - Their younger sister. She is still a toddler and loves puzzles.

Aunt Alice (she/her) - The sibling's aunt and guardian. Their parents are divorced and the kids ended up living with her some years ago. She is a nice and caring guardian. Mostly.

Clarisse (she/her) - Tatiana's classmate. They're best friends and lots of people think they're dating.

re: frost mv:: they definitely hint at Soobin being clairvoyant with the marble and I'm not sure if the marble is a medium through which he channels his clairvoyance or if it's simply representative of his clairvoyance. the fact that the marble breaks makes me feel like we can't always trust Soobin's visions, or maybe his ability becomes compromised/he loses it temporarily. I feel like Beomkai's visions are the hardest to figure out. Hyuka is chasing after himself, maybe chasing after his past self or trying to figure out who he is? Beomgyu finds a key and a locked box within a cave, but also finds himself with the key inside the box. Both of their visions involve duplicates of themselves which is very intriguing. Maybe Beomgyu has locked apart of himself away and is trying to rediscover it. For Soobin, he's trying to save someone and there's fire, but since it's a child that he's trying to save I don't think of Yeonjun ('cause of the fire) but instead think of Hyuka because Soobin sees him as a child in Eternally and then cries. It could just be representative of losing childhood innocence though. With Taehyun, I'm pretty sure it's the fear of losing control/not being in control no matter how tightly you try to cling to something. With Yeonjun it's definitely about the odd-eyed cat, since the pawprints cut across the neck of his shadow and he's being chased by some sort of animalistic sandstorm. Anyways, this was way too long lmoa

Ok I’ve taken the time to watch the mv a couple times and let my brain do its thing.

I do also think that the marble is connected to his visions by the way he looks through it. When he looks through it, it cuts to scenes that you can see have a filter similar to the texture and color of the marble. It’s almost as if we’re seeing into his mind.

I am curious as to who the figure is with them around the table though. I haven’t read The Star Seekers bc I haven’t been able to get my hands on it so idk if there’s clues in there perhaps but they have some sort of abilities and clearly are important in some way

Yeonjun’s for sure, you can see the paws running around him but no actual cat to be seen in that clip. Hes chased by that desert wind that looks like an animal- and grabs the spear. It’s like he’s becoming aware that it’s after him and trying to get inside him mind and he’s fighting it

Taehyun’s could be interpreted in a couple ways tbh. I like how you see it, but it could also be seen as perhaps he’s holding on tightly to whatever strength/hope/sanity he has left. So many different things could fit in that scenario bc it’s so vague and I feel like that was probably purposeful.

There’s the part when Kai is looking in the mirror and you can see a hand on his shoulder before he turns around, and then the chasing and figure hiding before he can see it. I also see this as him trying to find himself again. I think that among all of the chaos he may have lost his footing or forgotten his place or value in some form

The whole child on the rocking horse is confusing to me bc like- is it himself? Is it like- he’s seeing himself as a child surrounded by all the current chaos and is trying to save him from going through it all?

Honestly? Beomgyu’s feels so random to me but obviously it’s not bc nothing in this plot is random. It could be what you said tbh it makes sense.

When it cuts back to them at Magic Island and the figure turns everything frosty, they run out but you can see Taehyun quickly pick up a book. He’s been carrying this book throughout the entire video and I wanna know what it is-

Beomgyu found the key, Taehyun sees a nest in a tree, Yeonjun pets the dog, and then Soobin has the marble again- so was all of that just Soobin’s vision? Did none of it actually happen? Or- did it all happen in an alternate dimension?
