If I were the US president, I would have ended ties with Israel long ago.

Israel has stated multiple times that they don't care about the civilians in Palestine, hell they don't care who gets hurt in general. All Israel wants is genocide, anyone who supports Israel wants genocide, and anyone who goes like "Well it's complicated" or remains silent is genocide complicit.

Silence.

Is.

Violence.

There's a poem, it's called "First they came for" and it's by Martin Niemöller, it shows that silence does nothing, and in the end, there will be no one to help you because you were silent.

I wanted to do a modern retelling of it, here it is (Note: This is from the perspective of someone who is silent on politics):

First they came for the socialists—and I did not speak out—because I was not a socialist.

Then they came for black people—and I did not speak out—because I was not black.

Then they came for the disabled—and I did not speak out—because I was not disabled.

Then they came for trans people—and I did not speak out—because I was not trans.

Then they came for gay people—and I did not speak out—because I was not gay.

Then they came for unionists—and I did not speak out—because I was not a unionist.

Then they came for Palestinians—and I did not speak out—because I was not Palestinian.

Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.

Small rant about colonialism and Israel's genocidal campaign

The fact that people continue to support Israel when there are PICTURES of what the hell is happening in Gaza disgusts me.

A four-day ceasefire isn't enough, it needs to be a permanent ceasefire.

I don't even want to think about what will happen when the ceasefire ends...

The dead children, the mothers, the fathers, the sisters, the brothers, the friends...

And then the videos and photographs of the civilians..

All the heartbreaking images I seen, it's permanently in my mind.

Using dentures and implants and claim that it's the teeth of children? Bullshit. And let's not forget that dentists pointed out that it was dentures and implants, and that those didn't look like the teeth of children.

All the attempts to try to get people to sympathize with Israel have been bullshit.

The only thing Israel has succeeded in is showing their ass to the world.

Fuck America, fuck the U.K, and fuck Israel.

Clearly we're forgetting that for a time the U.K was colonizing Palestine, after WWI they took it over as a "mandate".

Honestly did not know there was a requested day of action/media black out for the 2nd of March.

To help I have collected some resources in this post. This one is going to be Australia focused but applicable to other countries (at least some actions)

Join me and my work colleagues to pressure Australian Universities to cut ties with Israel and demand a permanent ceasefire. Sign the petition here we need 1000 signatures and its open to everyone

Keep up to date with Australian Palestine Advocacy Network. APAN lists events coming up for each state

If you are in South Australia follow Australian Friends of Palestine Association on instagram for latest boycotts and protests

Sign the petition to reinstate funding to UNRWA (takes less than 2 minutes) Australian only

Make sure you boycott companies on the BDS website. They have Australia relevant boycotts too

Email and Call up Senator Penny Wongs and the Prime Ministers office! Write down key points: Your name, where you’re from, how you are concerned and upset about the genocide in Palestine, demand that Australia do more to prevent further death, over 80% of Australians want a ceasefire. Currently we demanding that Australia reinstate UNRWA funding and we stop supplying arms to Israel. If calling stresses you out do it out of office hours and leave a message.

Contact local MPs and councils and demand they pass a ceasefire motion.
