I don’t know if I believe in god, but I believe god would celebrate trans people. I think human diversity is beautiful, natural, and unique to all of us. I’ve also seen that the vatican released articles protecting transgender people under similar logic(please correct me if you see otherwise). Anyway, just wanted to counterbalance that anon semen hate thing.. lol
I know this is from a good place, and I'm gonna be the asshole here, but its difficult for me to accept the kindness you're trying to extend.
I think that seeking validation and a moral code from anything other than "live your life in a way that's going to make the most people the most real and happy, including yourself", including seeking that from some kind of being of external influence, makes you susceptible to guilt and manipulation by people who use the ever-changing "interpretation" of that will to get people to live to their interests as opposed to yours, and that this philosophy isn't limited to situations where the will of that being is interpreted as something that benefits me specifically because that feels like a shortsighted mental trap of constantly validating my own life decisions to myself in a nonstop cycle of searching for approval from an influence that, by definition, doesn't communicate with me.
And funnily enough, the Vatican is the perfect example. The statements you're talking about basically amount to the same "love the sinner, hate the sin" shit we've all heard for pretty much our entire lives, and was basically only written with the intent of inviting lgbt people in to try and save their poor little misguided souls:
https://www.reuters.com/world/europe/pope-francis-calls-studies-into-ugly-gender-theory-2024-03-01/
But thanks, I guess. Sorry to be a dick, I know this came from a good place, but its hard for me to mask my opinion on this kind of thing. I'll fully admit there's a personal sting here. I was the most patient, good little, explaining and validating tranny with a couple Christian "friends" earlier this year, only to find that they were stringing me along so they could try to "save" me. Trying to find validation in organized religion will always be a losing battle. These are organizations built upon decades of power structures that require specific family dynamics for population growth and control. I don't know if there's a god or not, by definition its really impossible to say one way or the other. But the Christian God is so transparently a tool for political manipulation in a way that should be obvious to queer people, and efforts to make the church seem "okay" for queer people more often than not have that same, thinly-veiled disgust associated with them. "oh, don't worry, we all have our little sins! Jeff gambles, Tom is gay, John smokes..." that kind of shit. That's not acceptance. It's thinly veiled disgust that will drop the moment there's an excuse.
Are there truly accepting Christians? Yeah, of course. But if you hand me a gun and claim its not loaded, I'm not testing it by pulling the trigger in my mouth.

Wednesday's new court mandated therapist is having her keep a journal of her thoughts and feelings. Wednesday finds this to be a complete waste of time and decides instead to use it to record her observations of her unusual roommate Enid Sinclair. Wednesday POV.
——————————————
Entry 10
Current Moon Phase: Waxing Crescent 🌒
While the topic of packmates was brought up and it was confirmed that we are indeed packmates, Enid and I have yet to define it's parameters. I plan to discuss the matter with her prior to her accompanying me to my appointment. I shall have to remember to record our agreed upon definition upon my return as I have found my current affliction to cause me to forget things, along with temporarily losing my ability to converse in English.
-YourFavoriteFruitBat is now livestreaming-
"What's up my LGBTs! And by that I mean Lycans, Gorgons, Babes, and Transylvanian Transplants! Today I'm here with an update on Nevermore's hottest slowburn of the century: Wenid Watch! But seriously guys, we need to come up with a better ship name than that. Moving on! What's new with everyone's favorite golden retriever good girl and bad tempered black cat? Let's find out!"
"And while we're on the hunt for our clueless couple, our would-be werelovers, let's check in with chat. Scales_of_Sapphire says 'You're going to get a stake to the heart.' Hey, that's the price of journalism baby. Ston3dGaz3r says 'That's my ex' frowny face. Oof sorry Ajax but the people want what the people want! And it looks like we have time for one more-! Oh shit, my girl just texted me. Give me one minute chat… DIV! You can't send me these kind of pics during a livestream!"
"Chat if only you knew the kind of tail I was getting. Let's just say this fruit bat has a thing for sashimi if you know what I mean. Wait, hold on chat, I think we've spotted one half of our hapless duo. There she is, the one black cat you certainly don't want crossing your path, Wednesday Addams. What's she up to? Let's sneak over while still maintaining a safe distance. Goth girls like these could go off at any moment without the slightest warning and- Shit! Sorry! Almost didn't see you there Enid!"
"What are you doing Yoko?"
"Just showing the lovely people of Nevermore the latest drama around the quad. Isn't that right chat?"
"How do you have so many viewers right now?"
"Ah, well, you know how everyone loves the latest gossip."
"What gossip? Wait. Oh my god-! Did Cario and CC get back together?"
"Girl, who-? Nevermind. Hey, I saw Wednesday sulking off in the corner over-"
"Oh, she's not sulking. She's just waiting for her mate."
"…Her WHAT? Enid! Get back here! Chat, you heard that too, right? What in the-?"
"Hey Willa."
"Enid."
"Oh my god. Chat, are you seeing this!? Did these two actually find a map to navigate themselves out of denial? I don't believe it. I've got to get closer."
"I hope that was an adequate enough greeting."
"More than adequate, silly."
"I see. Dos besos. I shall commit it to memory."
"So what did you want to talk about? Don't you have your appointment soon?"
"Sí, I mean yes, that is precisely why I must discuss this with you. It was my assigned homework and I do not wish to return with it incomplete."
"Okay, so what's up?"
"Our… relationship. I must request your assistance in defining it."
"Oh!"
"What is it that you require of me?"
"Require of you?"
"Yes, what duties shall I be expected to complete?"
"Willa, I don't… I'm not expecting you to do anything other than being yourself. That's what I like most about you."
"…"
"…You want a checklist, don't you?"
"That would be greatly appreciated, yes."
"Okay, well, um, what do you think you need to do in our relationship? Maybe we could go from there?"
"Ah, yes, I assume that is as good a starting point as any. I believe I have a duty to protect you to the best of my abilities."
"Okay and?"
"And I should bring you sustenance, seeing as you have for me."
"Fair."
"And I shall continue to demonstrate my hunting prowess, perhaps with prey larger than the current ones I have been offering."
"Wait, you've been hunting?"
"Yes, I- Have the spiders really been so unsatisfactory?"
"That's why you've been bringing me spiders!?"
"I- I apologize if their size has been too meager, if you do not even consider them prey. I can-"
"Willa, I'm going to stop you right there."
"Yes, of course."
"Okay, so we don't have time to unpack all of that. Maybe that's something you can do at therapy today. Anyway! Wednes, why do you think you need to hunt for me?"
"I… Lo siento- I am deeply sorry for offending you, mi loba- Enid. I understand that you are perfectly capable of hunting greater prey than the pittance I foolishly deemed fit to bring you."
"Willa…"
"How may I make up for this egregious error on my part?"
"You don't."
"Pardon?"
"Wednes, you didn't make a mistake. I mean, you did, but not in a thoughtless or mean way."
"But I have incorrectly assumed-"
"Yeah, you tend to do that a lot without checking."
"Please, help me understand my misstep. I want to know exactly where my misplaced presumption lies so that I do not make it again."
"Okay so, uh, let's see… First of all, you don't have to hunt for me. And not because I think you're bad at it or because the 'prey' isn't big enough because, holy shit Willa, some of those spiders were massive! But that's not the point. I don't need you to hunt for me because I don't need it. I don't hunt."
"But the night of the Hunter's Moon-"
"That was like, uncontrollable instinct. I don't hunt. I don't need to. Everything I need I can just get here."
"I see."
"But I think that it was a very sweet gesture, you hunting for me and everything."
"Than I shall-"
"No more spiders! Willa, please, if you have to hunt for anything please let it be like chocolate or steak tartar or cute plushies."
"Noted. I find it fascinating that you are able to consume chocolate despite your canis lupus genetics."
"Yeah, well, I can't have as much of it the closer it gets to the full moon or I get really bad tummy aches."
"I shall keep that in mind, mon loup."
"Hey Willa? Can I ask you something?"
"But of course."
"Why do you keep doing that?"
"Doing what?"
"Speaking in different languages when you get flustered?"
"I beg your pardon?"
"No, no! Don't get upset! I think it's really cute!"
"Muy linda! Me insultas! Qué he hecho para merecer esto?"
"Willa I have no idea what you're saying but you look adorable."
"Adorable? Je suis tellement en colère que je ne peux même pas parler!"
"Aw, Wednes."
"Cosa fai? Liberami, lupa crudele!"
"Let's get you to your appointment, πουλάκι μο."
"…?"
"Wait."
"…!"
"You don't know Greek?"
"…"
"Really?"
"…"
"Well, maybe I could teach you some Greek words on the way and maybe you could teach me some words in… whatever language you slip into the most?"
"…I find your terms agreeable, mia lupa."
"Holy shit chat! Did you catch all of that? Wait, what do you mean I'm muted? Fuuuuuck!"

Tumblr media
I read this today and many thoughts came to mind so yeah this is another rambling.
'til this day I don't get over the fact that only last year we had the Last Season of The Owl House, the rushed end of one of the greatest series of the decade, that could have mark a new course for many series yet to come, the spiritual successor of another of the greatest series of all Gravity Falls.
The Owl House was released in 2020 just four years ago and it was cancelled in 2022, two years ago, presumable cause it had too much representation for Disney's taste.
Tumblr media
This is obviousley not confirm, but everyone in the industry and Dana Terrace herself had made clear that this was the main reason.
All this just 2 years ago, many like to say we live in a time were LGBT+ community had all the representation they need, that everything is gay now days and and that this excess of representation is becoming tedious. And then this is a case from fucking 2 years ago.
Tumblr media
It just so sickening, to think that yeah we have representation nowdays but it has to be a certain tipe of rep, it can not be too much, in the Owl House I think there was just one straight couple in the main cast, it has not to be too on the nose, gods forbid for the main character to be gay, lesbian, bi or the non existent trans representation, and it cannot be normal, if you are gay it has to be your main trait, your whole life, you have to have like many crisis as you can and have a whole out of the closet episode, it has to be the revelation of the century.
I still remeber Alex Hirsch puteando a Disney cause they didn't let him do many things he wanted with his own serie, among them the relationship betweenm the two town sheriffs, one of the cutest things in the show, and very funny too.
Tumblr media
Alex Hirsch has always been very vocal about he's own despite for Disney as a creator that work for them. And thats why I love him.
I still remeber cartoon network forbidding Rebecca Sugar to say that the Gems were womans, cause that would imply that all the gems were lesbians and that was a totally No No for fricking Cartoon Network, the one everyone point when saying is only Disney the non inclusive one.
Tumblr media
(why they never bring this back? what is wrong with Steven Universe?)
Though this end like a tiro en la culata which means backfire cause suddenly the gems were non binary or no gender which was fricking funny cause even more hard to explain XD
This also happened with Adventure Time, another Cartoon serie, were everyone was lost whith the Bublegum and Marcy kiss in the last episode, cause we were told they had a relationship in fricking Season 3 but no, they didn't tell explicitly that they were in a romantic relationship, cause you know... lesbian equal bad.
Tumblr media
Their relationship keep getting explore and we had amazing episodes with this two navigating their feelings for each other, the past mistakes in their relationship and how to become better together. But all this while not telling us that they love each other, cause they weren't allow to tell us.
This is merely frustration on my part, I know we have better represantation nowdays, but... is not nearly enough, like I said, theres still close to non rep for ace or trans people, bisexual are getting better, though the rep still is plagued of horrible stereotype and fetization, but this is something lesbian and gays can have manage to avoid yet so what we expect.
So yeah we should celebrate our representation, and not let anyone tell us that is enough or too much, cause til this day the best ace representation I have seen comes from Todd from Bojack Horseman a serie from 2014 that ended in 2020, that set the bar and none had even try to fight, I hope Alastor become a better rep in this front, I really hope so. Lilith made an absolute great work, but sadley cause the serie was cut out we missed a lot of this character T^T
Tumblr media
And Im not gonna talk about trans rep cause that's just sad.
I will always hold resentment to Disney cause of what they did to the Owl House, for sure, that something I hold near my heart everyday.
So yeah I totally use this persons post to talk about me me me, and I dont know them so prefer not to involve them in this.
And if you dont notice I keep this Animation Series only, cause theres too many series and I have not watch nearly enough, I know thers some with really good rep and others that are lit hot shit. So yeah the world is wild and full of shit.
Adventure Time 2010-2018
Gravity Falls 2012-2016
Steven Universe 2013-2019
Bojack Horseman 2014-2020
The Owl House 2020-2023

just another queer Hallmark fan checking in to say thank you for running this blog <3 i especially love having gifs of my favorite scenes from these movies, so thank you!!
it baffles me to see people STILL shitting on the rep we’re getting in these movies, especially because it’s been going on for a few years now AND several of the stars are part of the LGBT community themselves! if people are so pressed for “family friendly” christian movies, i don’t know why they haven’t just switched to watching the great american family channel (is that what it’s called??)
funnily enough i think all my favorite Hallmark movies (and the ones i consider to be some of the best) happen have some sort of queer rep in them or actually have a gay couple as one of the main couples.
anyway, thanks again for running a great blog and i’m sorry it means you have to deal with hate!!
You're so sweet! Thank you and you're welcome!
That's the dumbest thing about all of this. Every single one of those idiots complains about Hallmark being so woke or whatever and they say time and time again that they're never going to watch and yet here they are watching everything. They're all hypocrites. There are alternatives but those alternatives pale in comparison to Hallmark, of course.
Also, there honestly hasn't been that much representation for them to complain about. So far this year there's only been a couple movies that've had a gay couple or character. Nothing noteworthy. Hopefully that will change because I've been pretty disappointed so far.

yeah the suggestion that sophie should be erased is deeply annoying to. like i need male centered white women who are fujos to step away from bridgerton and benophie. Sophie being a woman, a bastard woman, and navigating her gendered oppression because of her lower class is integral to benophie. if people want lgbtq representation they can go watch another show, or better yet, create original characters and go write fanfic if they want.
There is a place for LGBT+ rep in Bridgerton, there is even a place to turn a couple of the characters bi, but specifically gender swapping any of the main love interests/protagonists just would not work, and people need to be honest about that. However, they won’t be because they are just using the excuse of the show not being “diverse enough” to not support a Black woman playing Sophie Beckett.
The reality is that Bridgerton has tried to be more diverse than most shows, but they do not have to check every single box or else the show is not “progressive” enough. That’s not how it works.
It’s not “unprogressive” to keep the most oppressed woman due to her gender and class in the eight book series a woman. Again taking rep away from women(and marginalized women at that) to give to a (white) man that way you can see two (white) dudes fucking on screen does not make you “progressive.” Trying most surely does not make you a good ally(seriously where are you people when we are actually getting bad rep?).
Just because you see Black people in a period piece that’s highly popular, in a place where you feel we don’t “belong,” that doesn’t mean that we have to give up our space to fit you inside it.
(Mind you this is a place that we created because if Shonda hadn’t adapted these books added the diversity this series would’ve never done the numbers it has. Bridgerton is a sensation because of racial diversity that isn’t steeped in racism and race. It’s neither here nor there, but we constantly create our own, everyone wants to eat off our plates, and then leave us with scraps after they’ve had their fill).
This whole discourse is just incredibly bizarre, but the thing I find the most disturbing about it is the fact that even if you want to say Sophie should be a man, Benedict doesn’t like men.
I mean this literally should be a non-issue since he has shown 0 interest in men for two seasons and he’s had plenty of opportunities to fuck them if he wanted too.
Now if the show turns around and makes him bi this season(doubtful, but I’ll humor the weirdos) he still clearly likes women too so why Sophie should get the boot is beyond me, but not surprising considering the state of fandoms.
Silently off topic, but kinda related since it comes from the same place of using the lack of prominent LGBT+ rep to justify keeping a Black woman from being Sophie.
Which brings me people who think that Masali Baduza(suspected Sophie) can’t possibly be Sophie and instead insist that she’s either related to the Stirlings(the family Francesca marrys into) or that shes a gender bent Michael.
For issue #1 people claim that Masali and Victor Ali(the man who they suspect is John Stirling) “look alike” therefore she must be playing his sister. Victor Ali and Masali don’t look alike outside of both being dark skinned Black people(the people saying they do look hella suspect🙃).
And while Masali isn’t a household name she did have her own show(Noughts + Crosses) so she’s too big to just be playing someone’s sisters on Bridgerton. Not to mention the secrecy for a side character seems extremely unwarranted.
Now for issue #2, people are using a casting call(cause at least they know that it makes no sense for Masali to be a side character) that allegedly went out two years back to say she’s gender-bent Michael.
If you believe in the casting call(a similar one went out for Kate calling for a Indian actress when she was being cast so it is on brand) it says that the actress cast will be the lead for season four. Francesca’s story most surely isn’t going to be next up(skipping over both Eloise and Benedict? Be real) and it’s also another gendered issue to where if you make Michael into a woman you are changing up the story so much you might as well created an OC.
There is plenty of evidence that suggest Benedict’s season is next, Sophie has been cast, she’ll be in s3, and even if you don’t want to believe the casting call right now, that Masali is playing her, but instead of seeing what’s right in front of them people want to say that it just can’t be.
Overall I feel like people are doing a whole lot of talking and “advocating” for nothing cause they are butthurt that Sophie doesn’t look how they want her to look.
It’s still hurtful though to see that people would rather want Sophie to be a man and take away everything she stands for than see her being played by a Black woman, but again fandoms are unfortunately weird like that.
Let me end this by saying that while my rants my sound like I have gone crazy or am trying to start some bs, I have been suffering in silence since Bridgerton came out nearly three and a half years ago so this is me breaking my silence.
Again this isn’t really about erasing Sophie. It’s about keeping Sophie from being played by a Black woman which is fucking nuts considering that a Black woman is producing this crap.
First it was how Sophie couldn’t be non-white because it would be problematic. Then after Simone was cast as Kate it was how the show had no East Asian representation or Latina rep and had “too many Black people”(where are the Black people besides Lady Danbury and Will 🙃)so Sophie could be non-white, but she should not be Black.
Now that it truly seems like a Black girl it’s how Sophie should be a man cause the show has no LGBT+ rep.
And yeah everyone deserves rep, but the fact that people have continually said that their has been enough rep for Black people as a way to silence us and push their own representation at the expense of Black people is disgusting.
I can not reiterate this enough, the one thing this shitty ass fandom has been consistent in is saying that a Black woman shouldn’t play Sophie Beckett.
All I can say is that I hope Shonda has not listened to the people who keep yelling at her to give them representation at the expense of Black people while at the same time being fucking passive aggressive whiny little anti-Black bitches to her and all the Blackish actors on the show.

Hello, I’m Ameera a 23 years old Muslim lesbian who is trying to come out, I’ve been in the closet with my girlfriend for way too long, because of how dangerous and hard it is to come out as a lesbian to a religious Muslim family, but me and my girlfriend have decided to do whatever it takes and risk it all to come out, do you mind supporting and encouraging us?, though I know we all have what we dealing with, so I’m not imposing we just need all the support and encouragement we can get, check my pinned post for more information on how you can support, if you are a Muslim queer and you are out, please help with tips on how to make it less complicated, any word of advice is also really needed, we really wanna come out but we need y’all 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️ pride please come through for us, I believe pride is for all
Hi Ameera!
I saw on one of your other posts that you already have an exit strategy and are prepared to move out and cut contact should that be necessary for your safety, so I don't see any reason why you shouldn't come out if it's what you want!
I shall be wishing for your family to surprise you with acceptance and support, and for your contingencies to be unnecessary.
I am a Christian rather than a Muslim, so I can't speak to the specifics of your situation, but - if you haven't already - I'd recommend looking into what your religious text(s?) say about the LGBT+ community.
The first thing I did when I realized I was a lesbian was research.
The most I'd ever heard about gay people growing up was "gay marriage bad >:(" and even that only seemed to crop up around when gay marriage beginning to get legalized, so I looked into all of the relevant verses and tried to reconcile my sexuality with my faith.
I didn't want to go looking for validation, I just wanted answers, information, so I could gather my thoughts from there. So I looked at both sides.
The arguments I found that explained the bible as not against LGBT+ were all rooted in study and logic - meanings of words that were oversimplified in translation, historical contexts that I had been lacking prior, etc. All of it was rooted in trying to understand the original texts as and when they were written.
The arguments against LGBT+ all seemed to parrot the modern bible and "homosexuality is a sin" with no other arguments - or at least, no other arguments that could be applied only to homosexual people (example: "but gay couples can't have children!!!" yeah okay neither can infertile/sterile people and they can still get married/it isn't a sin for them to be in relationships). They were also all written with a hostile, hateful undertone (or overtone in some cases). Which. Christians are supposed to be known for our love, so any rhetoric based in hatred... and not even logic to back it? yeah. No.
The arguments explaining gay = okay were all based in love, compassion, and understanding - in logic and research.
So.
It was easy enough for me to reconcile my faith and my sexuality because, as it happens, there was nothing incompatible about the two!
(To any side b or x christians who may read this: this isn't an invite to debate, you literally cannot change my mind and also I will simply block you. This is not my Theological Discussions account)
I'm not quite sure how Islam sees the LGBT+ community in terms of religious rhetoric - from my (very) brief research the only thing I could find was a quote or two about Sodom and Gomorrah, which I've seen plenty of break-downs regarding, though what the Quran (or other Islamic texts?) says may differ.
Once you've done your research and come to terms with the information as needed (again, if you haven't already), I'd write a list of common questions and arguments you're family might make and come up with responses.
I don't know your family. They may shut down and simply tell you to get out and never return. (the worst case scenario [I hope - I don't know your family but if you think there is any possibility of physical violence I would definitely recommend either a video call - so you can see facial expressions - or staying near an exit while coming out])
They might ask you for space to think (okay scenario - kinda in limbo here).
They may surprise you with acceptance (best case scenario)
But they may ask questions and try to argue (middling case scenario).
They may ask things like why you're gay, argue that it's against your religion, etc. In this case, you have a chance to talk them into being supportive.
So.
Lists.
Brainstorm questions with your girlfriend - as many as you both can think of - and go through them. A lot of answers will be easy, some you might need to think more about/do research on (at least, that's my experience). But at least you'll both be armed with all the information you might need in the middling scenario (and it makes it harder for them to make you doubt yourselves, if that's something either of you might struggle with).
Of course, if you've already accepted the possible need to cut contact and gotten ready to move out you might've already thought of all this. Still, I hope this has been of at least some help to you, even if that's just by serving as a reminder that you aren't alone in this and that there's a community out here that supports you.
I'll be wishing you luck; I hope both you and your girlfriend get the best case scenario :)

What were gay and lesbian relationships like in the Taisho era? How frowned upon was it to see them flirting or public kissing (nothing explicit, just casual kissing or "how beautiful you are my love" flirtation)?
Yyyyeah… short answer is that Taisho was a bad time to be anything but cis and straight. And male, for that matter, as the Meiji Civil Code of 1898 made women entirely subordinate to men (like described in this post about Uzui & having multiple wives). While Taisho is known as a period of “free love,” this started to happen later in Taisho, and was more in reference to young couples meeting and deciding if they liked each other first so their opinions had more weight in their marriages instead of everything being decided by their families (described in more detail and used to analyze KnY characters here). As a major cultural shift, teenage girls became drivers of commercial culture, and they saw the world through romantic lenses, and they had standards for who they liked. Kiyo, Sumi, and Naho would likely get to enjoy this era at its height. However, that was the extent of “free love.” As a very, very brief history of Japan’s LGBT history…
...I'm going to say right now, and remind you later on, that this is not a scholarly article and my blog is not a scholarly resource. Also, as I'm writing this, my brain is half-dead from real life paperwork, so it's going to jump all over the place. However, please note that I wanted to focus on facts and history as told about as told by LGBT advocates, because diving straight into the history means you're going to get very different definitions. The modern LGBT community in Japan uses terminology essentially the same as other worldwide LGBT communities, so their angle makes this easier to highlight what's different and what's relevant. As a refresher, I found this article and this article especially helpful, but I do not know how useful Google translate will be on them.
So then to dive into history...
Yes, there absolutely were gay samurai warlords, famous ones, too! Men could be recognized for having straight or gay or bisexual orientation, as sexuality was closely associated with manhood. Women? Pfft. Women don’t have sexuality.* Or at least, that was so generally accepted that no one really even paid much attention to sexual relationships between women; there wasn’t even terminology for it because it was so overlooked. While literature about sexual relations between men (or not-quite-men, as was the case was in beautiful young amab persons) was rampant, literature about the sexual relations between women existed too, but it had more potential to be played off as a joke. After all, women don’t have sex drive, silly.*
*Please note, this is sarcasm.
Being transgender wasn’t really enough of a concept to have terminology for it, either. While there certainly were people who identified with a different gender than they were assigned at birth and convincingly lived like that, or were assigned the opposite gender than their parts implied and were raised that way, historically they were looked at as “men in women’s clothing” or “women in men’s clothing” instead of ever having transitioned from one gender to another, or having been a different one all along. There just wasn’t a sex .vs. gender set of vocabulary to work with, which is why applying labels like “trans” wouldn’t quite translate to the people who lived these experiences, even if they did relate to the core ideas.
OTHER HISTORY STUFF which doesn't translate well into modern ideas
While this is going to take us away from the Taisho topic, there are other points to note which make the historical homosexual culture different from modern LGBT culture, and I’m going to get it all out of my system right here, just so I have this all in one place (this is ONLY a general overview to frame thinking, not a historical resource, do not quote my blog as a scholarly source, I’ve forgotten which books and classes and articles I’ve picked these things up from over the years, and I'm not going to dig back up my 30 page undergrad paper about masculinity and idealized samurai, also, wow, is it midnight already?? Basically, I just have the unfortunate task describing how it wasn't all nice rainbows): --Homosexual relationships usually circled around the romance of power imbalance; one partner having significant social power over the other, and often being much older. This idea is practically inseparable from the Warring States and Edo period notions of sexual relationship between men (so not exactly what we’d call wholesome nowadays, sorry, this is the majority of what to expect if you have any interest in this topic)
--Marriage wasn’t considered a pact between people and gods until the Meiji period, when Japan was going through a strengthening of its own religious convictions as a means of national identity, so Shintoism and Buddhism didn’t exactly prohibit it, it was out of their bounds, kind of
--The Edo period did have anti-gay restrictions due to moral panic, but they were trying to curb all kinds of moral panics that caused societal disturbances, be it Christianity, women in theater, lovers’ suicides, overly enthusiastic displays of bravery through eager seppuku, wearing clothes too fancy for your social class, etc. Jealous lovers’ spats over those dang pretty boys had to be stopped!
--It’s generally accepted that Japan had “acceptance” of individuals of ambiguous gender or who married people who appeared to be the same gender, even if that person wore the clothes typical of a husband or wife role. However, this was not an active acceptance (of the “cool, what are your pronouns?” variety), but a passive acceptance (“that guy’s wearing lipstick… oh well, not gonna ruin my day” variety). It was not the norm at all, but it wasn’t seen as harmful or worthy of a fuss.
--While there’s a long history of literary characters living contrary to the sexual binary and crossing gender lines, the narrative tension of these stories often relied on the idea that no matter how convincing they might be, they can’t escape the gender associated with their physical parts (thereby not a total acceptance or recognition of the label of their choosing). It's not to say you can't find counter-examples, but again, the terminology I've most often seen used was "men in women's clothing" and "women in men's clothing."
--Marriage and family registry regulations did exist in Edo, sort of. People needed to be registered at their local temple for census-like reasons (and for reasons of stamping out the Hidden Christians). Per local regulations (which could be pretty lose), if you were taking a wife you might have had to report her name and what temple her family was registered under, and maybe a really fastidious monk would say, “hey, that name was registered as a son, what the hell,” but it was also kind of easy to fudge the report and find it unlikely if someone would check if that family temple existed or not. --Also, prior to the influence of Western mindsets, the Edo period saw its own resurgences of Confucian values which paved some of the way for societal changes which would come later.
KNOCK KNOCK... IT'S THE MEIJI RESTORATION
So then came Meiji, when Japan very, very quickly adopted Western culture so that they could be on an even playing field with other world powers. While this did mean strengthening their own national identity and army (which is part of what led to the strengthening of family regulations and civil codes, to raise a strong and united populace), it also meant taking in a lot of Western influence all at once, that was when Japan was awash with the concept that homosexuality was a sin. Next thing you know, gay couples (or couples in which one person had male parts but identified as female) were not officially recognized, and then homosexual relations become a criminal act in 1872, but this was later rescinded in 1880. The damage was done, society turned very harsh against homosexual relations. I know, I know. It's the truth you really don't want to hear if you're going for historical accuracy in fanwork. Tanjiro and his cohorts grew up in a time of widespread homophobia. This is your general reminder that fanfiction can be whatever you want and you can choose to ignore this. This homophobia didn’t really go away until the Americans came in in 1945 and restructured Japanese society around personal freedoms. It didn’t take long for gay bars to hit the scene in the 1950s.
However, clearly sexuality is only a thing men have.* Those Taisho period girls, getting along really well? Clearly they have a sisterly relationship, they’re very close.*
*All sarcasm.
To back up a bit, even straight Taisho couples—proper married ones and everything!—wouldn’t be caught holding hands in public. Scandalous! The women is subordinate to the man, she always walks behind him. Flirting in public? Heavens, no!* While I did get another Ask about Taisho dating and will go into it more there, in general, Taisho couples were considered very shy when it came to dating and courtship. It was their chance to find partners of their choosing, after all, they couldn't afford to spoil this precious freedom. *Sarcasm. Couples found ways. Popular date spots were where they could avoid being seen.
I’m not kidding about that not-holding-hands stuff. It really wasn’t something you’d see couples do, unless they wanted everyone talking trash about them. Couples going on long walks and fancy dates together was totally a thing, but at least under public eye, you kept a chaste distance.
But then how would they express their maidenly passion...?
Love letters flourished in the late Meiji through early Showa period. There were even magazines dedicated to them, still in collections like the National Diet Library Japan. As I can only read modern Japanese these are difficult for me to read, but dang, for what I can make out, they sound like giddy teenage girls of today. They feel like Mitsuri, talking about all those flighty doki-dokis! And there was a particular genre of them, called “S” (pronounced in loanword katakana, “esu”). For “Sister,” clearly.
C-l-e-a-r-l-y.*
*Sarcasm.
So yeah.
Passionate, touchy-feeling relationships between girls, and the tension of being unable to confess love to one another or pining for one another… we’ve still got those letters, in the true Taisho style of flirting. Take that, Edo period Neo-Confucionists. Taisho Period Girl Power.

Donatella and Diavolo for the ask game? (And maybe Squatizi? 🦈)
For Squatizi- I remember the mix of surprise and excitement I felt when I saw the two of them on my first watch of VA. At that point, I had kind of just assumed that Jojo had no actually on-screen LGBT+ characters (The only canonical non-cishet at that point was DIO, whose bisexuality was only confirmed by Araki and is never actually stated or shown in the work) and was simply popular with the community due to its general nature (which does appeal to a lot of gay subcultures and tastes in that way). The notorious Bury-Your-Gays moment with Sorbet and Gelato didn't help either.
So, when Tiziano and Squalo showed up, going so far as to fondle each other on-screen, I just went "holy shit". These two are actually gay? And we get to see it? Honestly, I cared less about the fight in that arc and was just interested in seeing what would be done with those two- I suppose it wasn't explicitly stated they were together, but the on-screen groping was kind of enough to tip you off. Just for that reason, I do have a fondness for them, and I do understand why people love them and mess around with them so much in fanon.
Though, while the novelty of an actual gay couple in Jojo excites me alone, much of their writing still frustrates me and they were far from what I'd consider "good representation". They had very little screentime and were really less two individual characters and more just two halves of one whole. The fight itself was underwhelming (which you articulated perfectly in a previous post of yours) and Squalo dying almost instantly after Tiziano instead of putting up any sort of fight after his mantra of revenge was disappointing. While "good representation" is not exactly my expectation knowing... the way Jojo is, it was still annoying.
I do like them and enjoy how people take their characters and expand upon the underwhelming amount that canon gives. They're not my favorite couple and I don't talk about them a lot, but I certainly favor the pairing and see why people focus on them so much.
As for Diavolo and Donatella: As you might've guessed, I have many thoughts about the two of them. I don't know how long this is going to be, so I'll put this under a cut.
I would not say I think about Donatella and Diavolo as a pairing in a particularly "shippy" way. In a lot of ways, I don't even really see them as a romance. They only interacted for an extremely short period of time, at about a few weeks maximum, and despite apparently growing attached enough to sleep together, they barely found out anything about each other and Diavolo abandoned her without so much as giving her his name.
I find Donatella incredibly interesting (and frustrating) to think about just for that reason. Diavolo is obviously extremely avoidant of people and has been so for his entire life, using aliases since he was young, killing his mother and burying her under his house's floorboards, and then killing his adoptive father and burning down his town when he found out. In all other ways, he shows dangerous precision, determination, and intelligence when it comes to erasing himself from the world.
So, on one hand, Donatella is a really interesting deviance in his behavior and a representation of the moral of Diavolo's character. Connecting and being known by other people is simply a part of being human; Diavolo tries his hardest to scrub every trace of his existence away and isolate himself in the search of evading the inevitable pitfalls of being human, but this is an impossible task. Even one little connection from years ago- in this case, a brief fling- spiralled into an unignorable marker of his existence, and that led to his downfall.
For anyone else, a brief date as a teenager would hardly be anything remarkable or consequential, but for Diavolo, his goal to erase himself completely just multiplies the consequences of any and all relationships he's had. What would likely be a connection anyone else would overlook is instead the main reason for the fall of Diavolo's empire. (You also have the fact that Diavolo was apparently irresponsible enough to get Donatella pregnant, which could say something about how Diavolo's avoidance of relationships makes him act haphazardly and make big mistakes in the relationships he did have.)
However, at the same time, Donatella is... odd to think about (and I believe this is also part of why she's talked about as little as possible in the story). It's very hard for me to imagine Diavolo, someone shown to be secretive since he was very young, having a fling with a random girl out of nowhere. Sure, him having a relationship could work, but a seemingly random brief date leading to an accident-baby just seems off and hard to imagine considering everything else we know about him. Believably expanding upon the idea with more detail while keeping Diavolo in character sounds rather difficult, which is why I think Vento Aureo just doesn't bother doing it. (Also, why would someone date and then sleep with a guy whose name they don't even know?)
Not to mention, throughout the entire story, in all of Diavolo's spiels about how the past is coming back to haunt him, I do not believe he ever even says Donatella's name. Trish only mentions her once when prompted in the Notorious B.I.G. arc, and the only information she gives about her father are the basic facts that he was Sardinian and briefly dated her mother as a teenager. We learn essentially nothing about the relationship that these two had to Donatella, and that's a big problem.
Diavolo is at least built to be mysterious, but Trish... isn't. Could she not have asked Donatella about what her father was like personality-wise during any point in her life? Did she have no opinion on what she was like as a mother? Did she garner no opinion on her father before it was revealed he was a crime boss?
While I can speculate, it's obvious to me that Donatella pretty much only exists in the story as a plot reason why Diavolo has a daughter and not much thought was put into her or this detail of Diavolo's past beyond that. I think it's equally hard for others to envision this, which is part of the reason why the misconception of Trish actually being Doppio's daughter is a thing; the anime even plays into this by expanding on their backstory to have Doppio be the one to meet Donatella instead.
Tumblr media
However, as I've said before, we know that this isn't true and this anime addition is in fact kind of a plot hole. We see that Doppio doesn't recognize Donatella, being unreactive when holding a picture of her in both the manga and anime and laughing at the concept of having a daughter or a girlfriend.
Tumblr media
This anime change is especially irritating considering the fact that there are other implications in how Donatella apparently knew Diavolo and not Doppio. According to their backstory in the manga, the described personality that their adoptive father and village came to know them as is "cowardly and clumsy, yet open-hearted"- describing Doppio to a T.
Tumblr media
For clarification, the manga goes on to state that in the Jojo universe, people with DID have alters that are fully present since adolescence.
Tumblr media
This suggests that both Diavolo and Doppio were around since early childhood, but the village people and his father only knew Doppio- which makes sense, because knowing Diavolo, he would probably keep to himself. So, then, the fact that Donatella apparently knew Diavolo and Doppio doesn't even recognize her would say something really interesting about their relationship alone; what made Diavolo comfortable enough to show himself to her? What prompted him to go out and meet her in the first place?
Also, this may be a bit of a tangent, but I really dislike how they attempt to characterize Donatella in the anime. Her dialogue comes across as extremely stilted and odd, which makes sense, considering it's just her repeating the list of Trish's interests in the manga. (Literally- rewatch the scene and compare it to the page.)
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
Unlike Trish, she gets no characterization beyond this "I love sparkling water and I hate smelly men and anything that isn't beautiful" spiel- honestly, she somehow comes off as more shallowly written than the grand total of zero lines she got in the manga... but I digress.
Diavolo and Donatella are really interesting to me, but the information we get about them in canon is almost less than bare-bones, which I find to be one of the major flaws in the story. (Seriously, Jojo's creation of really interesting implications about characters and then simply refusing to do anything with them is one of its most annoying tendencies, and it especially shows with Diavolo.) I do enjoy people attempting to expand upon them in fanworks with the very little we get, but I don't know if I'd call that "shipping"; just expanding upon a hinted relationship. All in all, it's a pairing with a lot of food for thought.

sorry, if im bothering you with this (you don't need to anwer if you don't want to), another one of these discourses about bayonetta i've seen with queerbaiting with bayojeanne and that one spoilers thing. do you agree it's an actual thing that happened?
Okay, so BIG SPOILERS AHEAD (metion of them, but not explicit) and lots of text ________
So let me start by saying, usually, as a gay person myself - I've been in this situation. When you clearly have a dynamic between friends of the same gender but it's written much more deeply and with the care and with the actual tropes that get used for het couples and filled with love (and that word gets thrown around, but like, we talking about any kind of love). That happens. But what also happens - is that writers / devs usually never confirm these. Fans and fandom do more job of putting lgbt rep into something that originally doesn't really have it or hidden in narrative (pushed, that also common with censoring) and then act like devs or writes or show runners own them something they invented. Again, it's a complex issue, because sometimes authors take time or have to push for relation ships (LoK / adventure time) and sometimes authors take credit for the ships fans popularised (that one supergirl show comes to mind???) However, in Bayojeanne cause, I can kind of see where people coming from because: a) Bayo herself is an ambiguous character, people been saying for ages that she's bi coded (i can't speak on that honestly) b) Kamiya called Bayonetta and Jeanne couple - not a pair, not duo, and compared them with other couples (that also semi-canon / canon)
Tumblr media
c) a lot of promo material art, just as concept art depicted them in way that would couples would. especially couples that have "different side of the coin" dynamic and that complement each other some examples: 1 // 2 // 3 // 4 // 5
Fanservice? Sure. Still. A thing that did happened. d) the scenes they had were also common for couples, shots on the reaching hands (the recent one i can think about with cloud and tifa in ff7remake), bayonetta holding jeanne "bride" style, bayonetta holding jeanne when saving her soul (do i need to mention how later they did that scene in familliar way with luka and bayo but just without the kiss, riiiight) and like, i could go on, but you get the idea
d) And what I also think Bayojeanne isn't just that kind of ship that was "oh fans hyped it up and they never interacted in canon" or something. It's in the story. Again, maybe it wasn't explicit and writers probably didn't intended to be that way (maybe Kamiya did but looking at bayo3 who knows), because once again it's a common thing when writes do this type of dynamic and "oh, the bond is so strong" and that kind of thing has a right to exists, if it wasn't for the othert stuff i said about. Again, it's a complex idea and situation. And many things matter in the case. And I'm not a professional and not that type of person who cared about it in Bayonetta of all things. Does that falls under "queerbaiting"? Hell, if I know, because I never expected them somehow to get canon or anything (and if you go through my baoyjeanne tag you know I love them dearly), cause not only being a game from japanese devs but also that I know better now because I got baited enough in various media before. Can I blame people for thinking this was queerbaiting? No, I don't think I can. Especially because it's just bad for the script. What this implies of such strong and impowering fantasy character as Bayonetta is even worse. And like, Bay///o/lu//ka doesn't in any way erase Bayonetta's bi-coding or her being into Jeanne (afterall it's not the same Bayo and we got multiverses now🙄) but I think people are upset because it was executed reeeeeally poorly and untasteful for such character. And people saying it's kind of character assasination are right in a lot of ways. Hell idk why anyone skips the part that Luka also didn't got any development and got thrown in this mess as well. And also THAT PART. What happened with it - who knows what was even going on in the writing room of Platinum.

Okay If I’m being honest, Hazbin has made me pretty much lock it away from ever giving it anything higher than a 6/10 (For meaning “this overall is fine but I'll never rewatch it) And I feel a lot bad for it because I'm honestly less mean to it the Helluva. Because my biggest criticism of both shows is that they go WAY too fast. And that is really bad if you are a character progression show.
But I give Hazbin less shit for this because it is a LGBT+, animated show on a streaming service. They had reasons to believe the show wasn't going to get a second season. It is of course, but when working on the episodes they had no reason to believe that. They don't choose how many episodes they are given. They were only given eight episodes. That is an unfortunate amount of episodes too, even if you did do it at the right pace, you would have to pray it doesn't get canceled. So that's less of a fault on the show and more just the fault of streaming services nowadays and that just makes me sad.
This is more of a fault with Helluva because, please correct me with proof if I'm wrong, but there is ZERO reasons why they don't have time for at least ONE more episode. I know working on an animated show takes time I'm not downplaying that. But I CANNOT stress this enough. If you are a character progression show, don't skim over the progression. My biggest problem with stolitz is that it feels rushed to the point it is now. It would’ve been better if the two had ONE episode together. IDK maybe their working on a I.M.P mission together they bond. And with that, you can make Blitz’s feelings for him not come out of nowhere. Because it just shows UP in D.H.O.R.K.S.
And honestly do think I might like the Hazbin better. I'm not at the point where I hate a character that’s a good sign for me. Charlie is good, Husk is good, Angel and Vaggie are good. Pentious is great, Niffty is great. And fucking hottake after watching episode five. I think Alastor is my favorite character, I like him being a petty little bitch. Only being asshole to Lucifer by passive aggressively becoming Charlie’s father figure in only night because he’s a bitch. he’s horrible. He’s great.
Honestly the only way I'll love him by the end of the show fully. Is if he is just the main antagonist by the end. Let this petty fucker be the villain it would be awesome.
(I lied I hate Carmine as a character. Hey writers! Don’t reavel the culprit to a mystery after we just introduced that same character and then make them sing a power ballad over it so we can feel bad for them even though we just met them. Let us at least know the character for an episode before doing that.)
Last thing I saw someone say this and I need to let out a some facts. For those who say they changed Vaggie’s backstory last minute. Let me remind you that the pilot came out FOUR YEARS AGO. Things changed. Your OC’s aren't always gonna stay the same in the span of four years. I'm sure there are DOZENS of things in Hazbin that was changed for the original plan four years ago. And that's not a bad thing. Remember in the Steven Universe Pilot where they hinted Amethyst and Steven might be a couple, that shit ain'tn nowhere in the final show. The Pilot and the final show are different things. Things are not always gonna remain the same and that's fine.
(ALTHOUGH I DO HATE THAT HAZBIN FUCKING HOPES YOU WATCHED PILOT TO UNDERSTAND THE CHARACTERS MORE VIZIE I KNOW ALOT A PEOPLE DID BUT NEVER ASSUMEED EVERYONE WATCHED THE PILOT TO UNDERSTAND THE SHOW Y’ALL COULD’VE JUST REMADE THE PILOT EPISODE IF YOU FELT LIKE YOU NEEDED TO)

idk what else to say to ppl other than it’s a disgusting choice/move to make will in love with mike at practically the last minute (canonically) if byler isn’t canon and to have him show the audience that he has the utmost love for mike and always will, pouring his heart out to him with a veiled confession for him to only be rejected in season five once the truth comes out because it will come out. people love to ignore all the toxicity within milkvans romantic relationships in favor for the normalcy of heteronormativity because “we already have robin and vickie and that’s enough” as if lgbt barely existed at all in the 80s (which just isn’t true, there’s as many gay ppl now as there was back then) they think we should be satisfied with what we have (one soon to be canon wlw couple) and that we should settle with will’s arc being the sad and unloveable gay boy whose best friend treated him like garbage over a girl but still couldn’t get rid of his feelings for him and were purposely written to have tension (whether you believe it’s romantic or not, they have tension the entirety of season four) it genuinely would be so unsatisfactory for will’s arc, el’s arc and for mike’s arc if byler isn’t canon. will ends up being the only character without some sort of romantic relationship, cause he’s the gay kid and doesn’t deserve love. mike ends up being just an asshole of a friend, dustin nor lucas treated will ANYTHING like mike did while they had girlfriends, remember this. and not to mention, el is fucking miserable in her relationship with mike. they literally show us this right in our faces. mike simply cannot balance el and will when he’s romantically involved with el. and that’s fact.

The thing is, THE THING IS, is that google is free, and it's one of those things that almost everyone uses, so the fact that you have homophobic anons coming to you and invalidating queer relationships by saying queer people can't have long lasting relationships + we all cheat on our partners, is unacceptable.
Because a quick google search could have shown queer couples who are still together after getting married ++ the small amount of queer people that have cheated on their partner VS. het people. And in an effort to not get disrespectful and bash het couples, I'm just going to say that maybe Het Celebrities (bcs that seems to be the topic) need to take a fucking page from queer people and learn how to be loyal to their partners.
From my own personal knowledge I have compiled a list of QUEER COUPLES who are still together (FOR YEARS) even if they're married or not, because Marriage is not definitive of the commitment that people have towards each other.
So for the uneducated here's a small education!.
George Takei & Brad Altman - Together for 37 years
Elton John and David Furnish - Together for 29 years
Wanda Sykes and Alex Niedbalski (I love them so much) - Together for 16 years
Tan and Rob France - Together for 15 years
Matt Bomer and Simon Halls (they were in a secret relationship for a decade before they came out as a couple, and Matt was always thought to be straight). - Together for 14 years
Antonio Douthit-Boyd and Kirven Douthit-Boyd - Together for 17/18 years
Lily Tomlin and Jane Wagner - Together for 51 years (since the 70's)
Alexandra Hedison and Jodie Foster - Together for 9 years
Sarah Paulson and Holland Taylor - Together for 7 years
I added a wide range, not just in age difference, but time they've been together, and I've also added BIPOC couples. I really don't know why people are insistent on making queer people seem horrible, and for what?. To prove that a potential queer couple could not be real?.
AND if that's not enough, because celebrities are "different" than normal people, I have added a link below to a review on an 'exhibition that explores and celebrates the everyday lives and enduring relationships of LGBT couples and families' as the intro has stated.
https://www.advocate.com/arts-entertainment/photography/2014/01/09/20-lgbt-couples-who-have-been-love-more-decade?amp
AND the biggest issue that these anon's are not fucking grasping is that these conversations can be incredibly triggering to queer people. The invalidation of not only our identity but our community is not only problematic but also oppressive. Anons grow the fuck up and learn from your ignorance, and leave queer people the fuck alone.
For you, I think you dropped it.

Previous anon I feel this. The fandom I'm in is full of shitty cishets and I experienced it firsthand the worst way possible:
I drew a sizeable amount of gay t4t porn. It was a canonically married couple (with my t4t headcanon), and it was more fluffy than explicitly super horny.
So I went to that fandom's porn subreddit and. Well. Not only did I get downvoted to hell but I also got messaged by a mod of it telling me to stop posting, then temporarily banned.
I was unfettered however, and went to another sub to post my things there. Which just ended up them in them all being removed.
In retrospect I should have had better foresight and figured out my things were not welcome there, considering both subs were solely straight stuff... but the double standard must be insane considering there was tons of gock on both and even porn of a teenage character on one of them.
Mmm this is interesting. I think this definitely fits into what I was saying, which was "straight men feel uncomfortable with the existence of porn that is not made to appeal to them", which almost all trans porn does. I imagine what you're presenting as "tons of gock" was more realistically a lot of fetishized depictions of pseudo-trans bodies, a lot of "dickgirls" and "futanari" and whatever else straight men say (which are if not transphobic slurs then transphobic pejoratives at least, akin to "cuntboy" which I dismantled as transphobic and fetishistic a while back). I'd compare this to like, straight guys drawing lesbian porn of Tracer from Overwatch. It's not LGBT-positive, it's fetishistic and oftentimes very very dehumanizing. The idea of the "beautiful curvaceous cis-looking woman but with giant throbbing monster cock" is a fetishized fantasy, very few trans women ever look like that lol. "Actual" trans porn, made by trans people and kind of for trans people, makes cis people uncomfortable. Bottom growth and bottom shrinkage and patchy hair (too visible on women, not visible enough on men) and trans men with high voices and trans women with low voices and etc are things that we like, and that I LOVE to see sexualized, but are not things that the average "cishet Steamboi" is looking for at all when he's googling "Femscout futa sex images". It is very very hard to find an audience for explicitly queer porn when a certain community is, just like most of society, dominated by cishet men. This is why Tumblr allowing nsfw used to be such a big deal, it was such a big haven for gay and trans porn artists and sex workers and etc., but God it gets bleaker every day thinking we're ever gonna get that back </3

Oh Lord there's more. It will never end, I guess. Well, we can have some fun tho.
Tumblr media
So, first of all, WHY, JUST why they call Hank and Connor's relationships a father and son relationships? Can someone name me at least one scene in which Hank behaves not like a cop doing his job, but like a father? Because... caring about Connor doesn't mean seeing him as a son. ALL good partners care about each other, this is basically what cops do. And Hank having a son in the past isn't even a proof.
And these people really need to look for the definition of the "pedophilia" word. It took me like 5 seconds
Pedophilia is a psychiatric disorder in which an adult or older adolescent experiences a primary or exclusive sexual attraction to prepubescent children.
Does Connor look like a child? And even if an older man in his 50's is dating a guy much younger it is NOT A CRIME IF BOTH OF THEM ARE ADULTS AND IT IS CONSENSUAL.
And yes, even if such people say they are a part of Lgbt+ they still can be homophobic. Because... how can you be LGBT+ supportive if you basically say that people Hank's age cannot date people Connor's age. If you say older people cannot be loved or desired (by younger people included)? Or it is only because we talk about Hank and Connor who do not have father son relationships in the game? It is basically a headcanon.
Tumblr media
Well, it just means there are a lot of stupid people around. Because people outside the fandom, on the contrary, felt that a romance between Hank and Connor was possible .
Them telling me THEIR HEADCANON looks like a joke to me.
And like... I LOVE father and son/child relationships, and the perfect example of it is The God of War and The Last of Us games. Hank and Connor are nothing like that.
Oh, and look, this person brought a friend to tell me more about how wrong I am.
Tumblr media
I didn't know that shipping two adult characters is suddenly a fetish. Because then you can say that about the entire fandom, any fandom, given that a large part of the fandom is shippers.
And it's so funny when they say that you can't ship father and son (in some fandoms people do, and nobody feels bad about it)… because I've already said a hundred times that there is no such thing in the game, this is as headcanon as a romantic relationship. Because in the game, Hank and Connor are either good partners, or those who hate each other and are ready to kill each other.
It's also funny to accuse me of daring to respond to an opinion I didn't ask for while my tik tok and instagram channel literally scream "This is Hank and Connor's zone as lovers! They fuck!". And I don't understand why hankcon shippers have to be the ones who have to hide in the darkest and farthest corners of the fandom, while, again, our ship has enough proof to exist.
Tumblr media
This is probably the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard.
And, excuse me, is there any criteria by which we must determine whether the characters fit together?
Personally, I think that Hank and Connor are perfect as a couple. Why does anyone think they have the right to tell me that this is wrong? Why is the opinion of those who think hankcon is good suddenly worse than the opinion of those who think the other way? And who exactly should decide whether the characters fit together or not?
Really...

Beyond his powerful looks, he's just got so much to market him, whether it's his easygoing attitude and respect for people of all backgrounds, histories, and genders, or his godlike looks, or his commitment to justice, or even his abilities making him the perfect boyfriend to live with because he can do everything at the snap of a finger and more than that, actually likes to, he's just got tons going for him. The only thing keeping him from the "spending life with" category is probably the hero work putting him/me in danger, and all the difficulties that come with that.
Ryan Lucan (Life is Strange: True Colors)
Tumblr media
He's just... awesome. He's a wonderful, understanding, empathetic, and caring person, and while he's got a little too much outdoorsiness for my taste, I can just imagine companionably living together as an indoor bf/outdoor bf couple. He's subtly implied to be part of the LGBT+ community, whether by being some kind of asexual or perhaps being bi, or both! But seeing how accepting and understanding he is, I'm sure I'd love to date him and work that out for ourselves. I guess the only thing keeping him from being spend life with material is that I don't know how compatible we'd be as individuals. Ryan's outdoorsy, has a big emphasis on family and community, and seems like he'd probably be a little bit vanilla when it comes to sensual exploration. Which is fine, but I don't know if that's what I want. Lemme date him for a while first and have talks and then I can get back to you on if he's true love material.
Alistair Theirin (Dragon Age: Origins)
Tumblr media
A romantic, a prince of a guy. Funny, awkward and relatable, and just as willing to experiment as you want him to be. It's been weird, growing older than he is in Dragon Age Origins, but he's one of the few that'd be at a similar starting point. And though he can be a little prudish and judgmental, I think his mind is open enough to be a wonderful partner. I think the only thing keeping him from the spend life with column is that... I love him, but he's a work in progress. He's got his own opinions on certain topics, but in general he needs molding into who he's meant to be. And maybe that just comes from his youth in Origins, so give me Alistair three or five years into his twenties, and let's see who he is and if he's truly true love material.
Top 3 Guys to Have an Amazing One Night Stand With:
Benny Lafitte (Supernatural)
Tumblr media
Benny's a great guy. Strong, moral, lovable, and possessed of a highly sexy accent. But he's just not looking for a relationship. I'd say it'd be more than a one night stand, probably a fling that could even work with ace people because Benny's the kind who prefers a connection anyhow. But it'd never be anything more, but maybe in a few hundred years?
Oliver Queen/Green Arrow (DC)
Tumblr media
Hit it and quit it. He's fun for a night but intolerable come morning. He'll probably be annoyingly clingy afterward and keep sending texts or booty calls. And he's hot and rich, so I guess I'd keep him on the line until someone better comes along. He's great for a one nighter cause he doesn't have as much trauma, sexual hangups, or kids as a certain other equivalent vigilante-moonlighting billionaire.
Peter Parker/Spider-Man (Marvel)
Tumblr media
Okay. I'm sorry. Peter's great. I adore him. And he's canonically kinky with his webs when he's married to MJ (or talking to Deadpool). But here's the thing - everyone Peter establishes a long-term emotional relationship with dies. Whether it's by tragic accident, direct involvement from Peter and his villains, or simple overexposure to Peter's radioactive body fluids, anyone that goes past the "sexual tension from having done it once or twice in the past" stage DIES. He's sweet, but I ain't dying for him. One night is probably all you can get before you're in the danger zone.
One Guy to Rule Them All:
Geralt of Rivia (The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt)
Tumblr media
This may be surprising, but I'm specifically limiting this to Geralt in the Witcher video games. Henry Cavill is hot as Geralt, but show Geralt is hard to enjoy as he's got so little of the nuance of the character that I like in the games. And from what I can tell of the books, Book!Geralt is very much a broody whiny obviously-written-by-an-old-Polish-guy-with-opinions kind of character.
Geralt in the games is an awesome, nuanced character. He's got a biting, sarcastic wit that never goes fully into the annoying kind of MCU snark. He's strong and powerful, but not macho - he's got the vibes of being a very confident and happy submissive man, especially towards the powerful women in his life. He's kinky, he's educated, he has nuanced opinions on the world around him and an intriguing worldview that also consistently takes into account the greatest good, whether that be right by the laws of the time or not. He's a friend to artists and mages, to the little guy, and he will stop to help whoever needs him. He's a great father. He's a loyal partner, and a moral one. I love him.
