Lampropholis guichenoti, more popularly known as the grass skink, Guichenot's grass skink, the pale-flecked garden sunskink, or the penny lizard, is a small species of skink found throughout western and southern Australia. Its primary habitat is grasslands and scrublands with plenty of vegetative cover, though they are also a common sight in suburban backyards.

Though a nondescript brown, the penny lizard can be identified by a black stripe running the length of its body. Females can be distinguished by the light orange or reddish tint to their underbellies, while males are light grey. However, identifying the grass skink may prove difficult, as their small size makes them extremely good at hiding; on average an individual is only 8–10 cm (3.1–3.9 in) and weighs less than 2g (0.07 oz).

Male L. guichenoti are extremely terrirotial, and will fiercely defend their territory from other males- particularly in the spring. Breeding begins in September or October and continues throughout the summer. After mating, the female will lay about 2-6 eggs in a communal clutch alongside other females; in total these clutches can contain up to 250 eggs. These eggs hatch approximately 30 days to hatch, and young are fully independent upon emerging. On average, the grass skink can live for 2-3 years in the wild.

Because of their small size and lack of defensive systems, Guichenot's grass skink is an easy prey target for many species. Birds and feral cats are the primary predators, but the grass skink can also become a meal for larger lizards and snakes. The main way L. guichenoti avoids being lunch is by dropping its tail-- a common skink tactic. The tail continues to wriggle after being dropped, distracting the predator while the skink makes its escape and later regrows its tail. The penny lizard itself feeds mainly on small insects like crickets, isopods, earthworms, flies, and ants, as well as the occasional fruit or vegetable.

Conservation status: Lampropholis guichenoti has not been evaluated by the IUCN, but its population is generally considered to be large and stable.

Honestly, Ilia ships have SO much potential. I can pair her up with almost anyone, and it has decent to amazing symbolism.

jasper (bearded dragon) is getting up in years. she’s in a bioactive (plantless, she ate them lol) enclosure because when we first got her and had her in a hard-bottom tank she scratched almost 24/7, the moment we got her substrate she was very very energetic and inquisitive and spent the next week digging and pushing dirt around until she got it how she wanted and stopped relentlessly scratching/wall-surfing and now only does it when she’s going to poo. but in recent months i havent seen her digging as much at all, and im worried now it may be time to try a hard-bottom setup so i dont have to keep up w the bioactivity. but im worried if im wrong, she’ll go back to scratching and being stressed she cant dig. since she’ll go into brumation soon and stop moving and eating as much i’ll see if i cant maybe make a setup with a dig box in case she feels the need. but again, if im wrong, im worried she’ll spend all her time in the dig box and not in the optimal basking spots. idk idk idk

Happy 1st anniversary Scarlet and Violet! This gen holds a special place in my heart; thanks to the co-op mode, I was able to play this game with my brother, which we have not played together for ages since BW. We battled a lot and he helped me find the remaining two stakes (which I can proudly say that I found the rest on my own without relying on the guide) during Christmas. It was so fun and I genuinely felt like I was thrusted back to that time.

Yes, the issues are unfortunately undeniable to forget, but gosh darn it I love this game too much especially the cast. I felt strongly sympathetic towards Nemona, who didn’t have anyone to share her joys and passion with at full extent; Penny, with her struggles with isolation and bullying; then we have Arven, who took care himself basically for most of his life without parental care, and sought whatever means to help his good ol doggo. And then we have the Kitakami siblings, which I hope we can make amendments cause oh boy, Kieran's personality and frustration losses resonated with me a lot. A lot. Then we have our korai/mirai. I love, love, love how we end up creating a name, a legacy for ourselves and our riding lizards. Plus, the lore for the ruinous four is just absolutely awesome.
