As for TV... yeah, I don’t watch TV anymore, but I loved shows like Mythbusters and Forged in Fire and River Monsters. Been thinking of Family Feud and Murder, She Wrote a lot though. Never got into the ARG scene, but I was a fan of Marble Hornets back when that was The Hot Shit. Ah, those were the days; I binged season 1 in broad daylight on the family computer and still couldn’t sleep for like three days, it was like my first time watching The Haunting or playing Silent Hill 2. Back then, I’d be up late at night reading a Slenderman Mythos blog or listening to a creepypasta reading (Anansi’s Goatman Story is a personal favorite) and suddenly have a heart at the slightest noise. Good times.

Squirtle! I had Pokémon Blue and my brother had told me that, because Blastoise was on the cover, I had to pick Squirtle. I named him Neptune :3

Water and Psychic! I always go for the water starters and it’s my favorite element. And psychic just seems really cool. Although it would probably one of the more challenging to raise if they were real 😅

What’s your favorite legendary Pokémon?

So... I might be cheating on this one, but I love the Sinnoh legendaries. The mythos surrounding them are really interesting, especially Dialga and Palkia! And slight confession, but I’ve never fully played through a Gen 4 game (HGSS excluded). I have Platinum, but it’s pretty busted and crashes a lot which is why I’m really excited for a Gen 4 remake!

Which Eeveelution is your favorite?

Vaporeon, but Glaceon is a close second.

What’s the stupidest nickname you’ve ever given to a Pokémon?

Rickgastly.

A friend of mine really wanted to have a Gengar so as a joke I sent him one with this nickname. I’m not very clever, so I tend to give my Pokémon more meaningful nicknames 😅 Except Sir Peaches. He was my shiny Espurr, and I loved him.

so, it's been a few months. got bored and had nothing else to do so i was like hey let's rechallenge the elite four and cynthia right. yeah uh. so. it's going Real Bad

ok does some pokémon nerd wanna help me out with stats and math and mechanics tbh. so like i’m aware of the concept of physical versus special attacking now of course but i don’t know how much a pokémon’s stat affects the amount of damage it does tbh. is it better to use a more innately powerful move that uses a pokémon’s lower stat or to use the weaker move that uses the pokémon’s higher stat. or like what’s the cutoff point. how does this work

or to be concrete about details: my luxray’s attack is 167 and its special attack is 122. it’s been using thunder fang, a 65 power physical attack move (plus 10% chance to paralyze or flinch and an accuracy of 90 and 15 pp yadda yadda yadda)

but now it can also learn discharge, an 80 power special attack move (with an accuracy of 100, 30% chance to paralyze (but no flinch), and 15 pp as well)

basically: which move should i keep here?
