last post i swear.
A pathetic!simon that, with johnny's permission, approaches you as you slept.
"Lass took melatonin, something about her havin' an early start tomorrow."
Simon touches your smooth calf, squeezes it for a second before running his hand down to caress your ankle, and ends up at your dainty foot.
He digs his thumb into the arch of it, and the little airy moan you let out has him coming in his own pants.
Johnny was speechless as he watched LT walk away with a serene air about him and a pleased look in his eye.
pathetic!simon had walked into the room at 12:34 am and left it at 12:37 am.

Friendship’s not in the field manual.
Tumblr media
Simon “Ghost” Riley x GN!reader
warning(s): angst, no comfort (yet..)
a/n: trying my hand at a new format. Not proofread/probably grammar mistakes
You’re convinced Ghost hates you. Downright despises you.
Sad? Yes. Exasperating? Most Definitely.
Hard to be at the top of your game when you’re convinced your own Lieutenant thrives off your suffering. You were the new bright eyed rookie hacker for 141. Picking up where they fell short in the technical field. And yet somehow Ghost had managed to make you feel incompetent on good days, and just plain miserable on the worst.
You’d long accepted that he’d never like you, but that didn’t mean it didn’t bother you. Every single attempt to be friends was shot down. At least he wasn’t lying when he said he had a cold heart. It was unbelievably frustrating and you were reaching your limit.
And did.
That day you felt like the world was truly against you. Everything that could go wrong, went wrong. Waking up feeling just plain awful was a great start for sure. Finally finding the strength to drag yourself to the kitchen only to somehow manage to spill coffee all over yourself and your belongings, tech included. The coffee was hot enough to leave a painful burn, and there was no doubt your laptop was completely destroyed. You tried not to cry on your way to the medbay, you felt pathetic limping to and from. The walk of shame indeed.
After cleaning up the rest of the mess and at least trying to salvage the rest of your belongings that fell victim, you decided a change of clothes would do some good. Your only priority now was to Avoid. Ghost.
The last thing you needed today was his shit.
Normally you could take what he dished out, but today whatever he had in store would most definitely destroy you. Which is exactly why you froze you heard heavy foot steps approach you. You didn’t need to look to know exactly who it was.
“Sergeant.” His tone made you wince.
You’d missed the mandatory meeting. He was really gonna let you have it.
You held your breath in preparation, and stared down at the floor.
Just hold it together and break down later.
“What? Can’t even look at me? Fucking pathetic.”
Hold it together. Hold it together. Hold it togeth-
“Look at me.”
As long as you don’t look him in the eyes you’ll be fine. You can do this. You’ll get out of this in one piece.
“In the eyes, rookie.”
Christ if he wasn’t so damn scary.
You somehow worked up the nerve to finally look at him and met instant regret. His eyes held so much anger, and knowing it was directed at you was terrifying. This man must really, truly, hate you.
You couldn’t stop the tears as soon as they began. You missed the way his eyes widened, even if only by a little bit.
“Why do you hate me?” You sobbed. “I just don’t understand what I’ve done wrong.”
He saw your hands shake as you frantically wiped your eyes, in a hurry to get away from the room, from him.
“Love, I-“ he started, but you had already disappeared.
Oh he fucked up. Big time.

He gazed at the necklace and knew right away what was missing; it adorning your neck.
request: reader has an unhealthy relationship with money. simon tries to help.
fluff
[My eyes are dim with childish tears,
For the same sound is in my ears] ww.
Life didn't treat you kindly as you were growing up. Serious financial issues plagued you from childhood, exerting control over every aspect of your existence. It's almost pathetic how these bills have left an indelible mark on your life.
The lingering effects of this trauma are evident in your present. Despite growing up, finding a job, and meeting a perfect man—Simon, you still live in the shadows of the past.
Everything, whether it was an event or simply a word, will live with you forever. Everything that will follow on later stages of life will dance around that one traumatizing aspect and taunt you for the rest of your existence.
Simon, being the good-hearted man that he is, tries to make amends for his absence. Whenever he returns from deployments, he brings fancy gifts like rings, bracelets, or attires, as a way of apologizing for his time away. He showers you with quality time and words of affirmation, truly trying to bridge the gap caused by his providing nature and your troubled past.
However, due to your anxious state and past experiences, you often find yourself tense whenever he presents you with a gift. You never asked for anything, trying to stop him from spending the money on you.
Yet Simon never once complained about the cost.
Although, as he hands you these expensive items, you can't help but silently calculate the price in your head. Simon remains oblivious to your inner turmoil, brushing it off with a smile, thinking that you are simply amazed by the gift. In reality, you just want to disappear.
Tonight is no different. After dinner, you agree to watch a movie and snuggle up on the couch. Simon sits beside you, a soft smile adorning his face as his eyes never seem to leave yours. Your tension rises as he pulls out a red velvet box from his jacket. Inside lies the prettiest diamond necklace. He looks at you, proud of his choice.
Unable to hide your frown, you cast your eyes downward. "You don't like it, honey?" Simon asks, his confusion evident. Inside your mind, whispers of money and past troubles play, reminding you of your unhealthy relationship with it. Fighting back tears, you sniffle, struggling to find the words.
Simon persists, offering to exchange the necklace if you dislike it. "I still have the receipt," he reassures you. Nodding, you avoid meeting his gaze. "Return it, Simon. I don't want it, or anything," you finally manage to say, your voice choked with emotion.
Frowning, he sets the necklace aside and cups your face in his hands. Gently, he wipes away your tears with his thumbs. "It it about money?" he asks, surprising you. You never told him about your past, so how could he possibly know?
"Do you think I never knew? All your attempts to dissuade me from buying you things, every event you skipped to avoid receiving a present... Honey, I know," Simon admits, his eyes filled with understanding.
Gradually, you begin to calm down. There's no point in hiding anymore, not when he already knows. You explain the situation, and he listens attentively. There is no judgment in his eyes, only empathy and compassion.
"Look," he says, patting your back in a comforting manner. "That was the past, honey. There's nothing wrong with how you feel. Your well-being is more important than anything else." A sad smile forms on your lips as he continues.
"Your happiness matters more than anything. I understand that receiving gifts makes you uncomfortable. However, you must understand that money itself holds no real meaning. What's the point of having thousands if I can't spend them, hum?" Simon brushes your hair back, letting his words sink in. He pulls you closer, and you can hear the reassuring rhythm of his heartbeat as he speaks.
"I don't care about money, and neither should you. You deserve to have nice things, and as long as I can afford it, I will continue to give them to you." You mumble softly, the lingering doubts still in control. You want to believe his words, but it's difficult.
"I don't deserve..." you trail off, but he cuts you off, gently squeezing your cheeks. "You do, honey. Don't ever feel guilty for something you deserve. Buying a dress or necklace won't make me go broke. You know how much I earn, don't you?" You nod slowly.
"You may not know it, but the joy that lights up your face when you receive a gift from me is something .. really special, darling. And that happiness makes me want to give you the world and more."
Perhaps it's his heartfelt words, or maybe it's the serenity you feel within his embrace. Some things can't be changed overnight, but you know that he will always be there to support you, whether you're soaring high or crawling in the mud.
Simon smiles at you, clasping the diamond necklace around your neck. His touch leaves a trail of goosebumps, and you catch a whiff of his cologne. It's a familiar scent, one that you associate with pure bliss. Nirvana was a familiar sensation, harboring your very being since the day you met him.
As you admire the jewellery with a mix of astonishment and curiosity, Simon admires you in return.

🗑️sometimes I get nervous writing asks and I think "is this too far? I don't want to be weird" and I have to scroll through your blog to remind myself that you're kind of off your rocker but it's okay because we like you like that❤️
Anyways vampire Simon going to a bar and luring in Johnny for a night of passion and blood sucking and then wakes the next day thinking that Johnny's gonna run for the hills.
But he doesn't and instead begs to stay with Simon, who has no idea what to think about it- but Johnny swears he doesn't have anywhere else to go, he's desperate, and won't you PLEASE help him? He swears he won't stay long and he'll do anything for Simon in gratitude.
The puppy eyes and begging (and the bj that sucked the brain out of him) definitely convinced him, and really, Simon wouldn't mind some help- only being nocturnal sucked once one realized most places closed before he opened his eyes. And he's been needing a familiar.
And Johnny is the perfect roommate: cleans, cooks, takes care of Simon. Basically worships the ground he walks on sometimes, and boy does that give him a power trip.
But Johnny doesn't always behave, poor thing, and Simon makes sure to discipline him like a proper master should to their familiar. And Johnny doesn't ask much questions, does what he's told and thanks Simon afterwards.
And when Johnny asks to stay for a little longer, Simon agrees, to the point where both are sure Johnny probably won't ever leave.
By that point, his random one night stand became his familiar of four years, and though Johnny barks and kneels and whines like the puppy he is, Simon doesn't know if he's truly the one with the leash.
But Johnny has such a pretty face, so Simon will forgive him this time.
i AM kinda off my rocker but if you follow me you are too so it's all good. balances it out. also don't be nervous sending me asks! as long as long as you don't include anything from my no-go's list, it's unlikely i'll be squicked out
also i say it all the time but i like to remind y'all: if i don't respond or post your ask it's more than likely just because i had literally nothing to add. i don't like posting things to my blog that don't have at least a little bit of Me in there lol
also i love this idea but with a like Druggie twist on it lol
like, vampire!ghost who's got that super special addictive venom like literally every other vampire, and one night when he's drinking from someone (johnny, who loves feeding vampires cause he's a painslut) he's so enamored with the taste of his blood that he can't help but slip him a little venom
(also let's say werewolf johnny, and vampires rarely drink from wolves, so when johnny offered himself up on a platter for ghost he just couldn't resist. smth like that idk)
and then poor johnny's hooked. he needs another hit, dogs at ghost's heels like an eager pet, just begging for a little more (even though it's not safe for ghost to drink from this soon anyways)
and like. ghost hates the pup, can't stand that he's around all the time, wants some goddamn privacy again, but also... well he's a little pathetic :/ all sad and begging, tail drooping and ears flat while he looks up at ghost with those big blue eyes...
well, he did taste delicious. it wouldn't be the first time a vamp took someone to keep as their own personal bloodbag. and johnny's not the worst company, he wouldn't be so bad to keep around... maybe. if he can listen
and he does! listens oh so well, bends over backwards to do anything for ghost, tries his best to try and predict ghost's needs before he can even ask. it's a lot, to be sure, but also... well, he treats ghost like a king. can you blame him for indulging?

Polin stans will always be better superior bc other cast get covers photoshoot but you’ll never see a Nic Luke stan being mad the same way Kanthony Simone Kate fans were of Charithra getting 1 cover/press it’s crazy even India Corey QC stans didnt do this when Arsema got covers
it really was just racism+ phobia because why was they so mad Charithra Nic/Luke getting 1 tiny cover/press but you wont see a single QC India Corey stan mad Arsema got it or polin Luke/nic fans when Hannah rest of cast are getting covers photoshoot press left right on polin szn!
and why should (even have the right to speak on it?) we it’s so weird it’s a whole cast show ofc they can/should do press covers photoshoot without us having any say but the way kanthony Simone Kate stans did Luke charithra for getting few press interviews + 1 tiny cover insane
the fact they thought they had any right to even speak like I could never have the audacity to speak on why an actor doing their job was getting covers photoshoots or doing press in assemble show I could never but kanthony Simone kaye stans they truly insane to have such audacity
I say can as if I have any right to give permission or as if they asking us N/L polin stans for permission! but the audacity that kanthony Kate simone stans had over Charithra nic even like when all they got where few press interviews on show they are on and 1.5 cover each! SICK!
Anyways just wanna say I’m so proud of polin stan for being mature enough not to stoop so low and childish as how kanthony stan acted during their fav snz such getting mad or demanding things of people actors they have no right to demand and get mad at people for doing their job!
proud of polin stans for being smart enough not to be having a tantrum every 5s seeing the other actors in the show their favs are in doing covers photoshoot and press just bc it’s polin szn bc that’s crazy miserable people sh*t like Kate Simone kanthony stans! Keep up polins 👍🏾
‪Like imagine if we Nic Luke polin stans had a tantrum if anytime an actor other then szn main had a cover or photoshoot or did press saying sh*t how dare they its not their season theyr just background character😂it would be so childish and very much miserable big loser behaviour‬
‪the funny sad pathetic thing is even tho it’s polin season/show they still acting like they did during their fav szn getting mad at actors doing press/covers photoshoot for that show actors other then their favs still even when it’s not their fav season anymore truly children all of them every Kate Simone kanthony stans! ‬

how about midnight mass and in the flesh for the fandom ask game??
hiii sorry this is so late hehe but i'm back from vacation now!
midnight mass:
blorbo: father paul and sheriff hassan, i adore them both, they're so well acted and full of depth and ARGH i have GOT to rewatch this show now that u got me thinking about how perfect it is...!!!
scrunkly: i mean is it offensive to say a full on catholic priest is scrunkly . father paul is kinda scrunkly
scrimblo bimblo: sarah!!!!!!!!! very underappreciated!
glup shitto: not sure if i have one for this show since it's just one season and all the major players i care about are major enough to not be glup shittos tbh!!
poor little meow meow: father paul lmaaooooo of course. love his war crimes, love the patheticness, love the need to drink blood, love the twisted philosophies, etc.
horse plinko: father paul of COURSE, let's TORTURE that sad awful man!!!!!!
eeby deeby: FORTUNATLEY BEV IS ALREADY IN SUPERHELL TEEHEE
in the flesh
blorbo: SIMON MONROE!!!
scrunkly: kieren. i feel more or less maternal towards him in the sense that i'd go DO YOU HAVE ENOUGH TO WEAR ARE YOU DOING OKAY CAN I EMOTIONALLY SUPPORT YOU IN SOME WAY I HAVEN'T CONCEIVED OF YET and i also want to pinch his cheeks.
scrimblo bimblo: okay philip grew on me SO MUCH and i was shocked when it happened. he was horrible, but then it all fell apart when he fell apart. and yeah, that moment in a truly great TV show when you have to face your own hate for a terrible person and realize u were in fact wrong to think even that guy was irredeemable. anyway he's great actually, his arc is so well done!!
glup shitto: hard to say again bc this show doesn't have all that many characters fdsjkfdklsjfjksdl
poor little meow meow: OBVIOUSLY simon but i think maxine is also an incredible hashtag problematic fave. she's horrible but she's so good at what she does!!
horse plinko: simon of course!!!!
eeby deeby: bill macy :( i mean it was all such a tragedy but also the fact that anyone could do that to their own son. horrific. like s1 is this perfect small tragedy and s2 expands the lore and the world and everything, but i think you'd be hard-pressed to get a more effective 3-part tragedy than s1 with the rick macy arc!!
send me a fandom

Hey Tag! Look at this bullshit!
I popped to see what Miss Cleverness’ bitch ass was up to and it looks like she’s back on her bullshit of bashing successful black women, because that sad little conservative Christian just can’t help herself.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Because we all know conservatives don’t think mental health is important, it truly doesn’t surprise me that this Ninja Turtle Sex Toy racist homophobic bitch would spout off like this.
Simone Biles could beat the shit out of all of us, meanwhile Cleverness is too scared to even be in the tag because she knows we’d demolish her.
So you tell me, cleverness, who’s the pathetic one?
Anyway have fun in the tag you guys 🤪

magnus & the main characters interaction count: a study
an interaction counts as magnus talking specifically to 1 main and that main character responding, or vice versa. (you know like alec does with jace/ clary/ izzy in 95% of the episodes throughout the whole series and luke/ simon in half of s1 and s3.) an interaction is NOT where magnus addresses the group in general with no one responding to him directly, or him being in the same room with all of them, but they only talk to alec or to each other.
this count starts from 2b. s1/ 2a did NOT have anywhere close to an adequate amount, but at least there wasn’t so little that it was total joke like after that. the sad truth of this is so glaringly obvious when it’s listed.
plz take note this post is about magnus/ MAIN character interaction ONLY
and obviously this count is about the 6 mains other than alec
SEASON 2B
2x11: NONE
altho clary/ jace are in the room, they only talk to alec
2x12: NONE
2x13: NONE
2x14: 1 scene with luke
2x15: NONE
altho jace/ izzy are in the room, they don’t talk to him
2x16: NONE
he was not in the episode. he also was not in some episodes in s1. luke and maia have also not been in some.
clary, jace, alec, izzy, and simon have been in every episode. just saying.
2x17: 2 scenes with luke
2x18: 1 scene with luke
2x19: NONE
altho the shadowhunters/ luke are in the room, they don’t talk to him
side note: making literally everyone be against magnus/ glaring at him/ shading him behind his back after all he’s literally done for every single one of them was… a choice. they all didn’t seem to care that he was hurting.
2x20: 1 scene with izzy
final count:
6 episodes (over half the season) with NONE
2 episodes of only 1 scene interaction
only 1 episode where he interacts throughout, yet still only with 1 other main
only 3 scenes where he gets to talk to another main without alec there
no scene where he talks to another main and alec isn’t mentioned
SEASON 3A
3x01: NONE
3X02: NONE
altho shadowhunters/ luke are in the room, they only talk to alec
3X03: 1 scene with izzy
3x04: NONE
altho clary is in room, she only talks to alec
3x05: NONE
3x06: multiple scenes with clary
3x07: NONE
altho clary/ izzy/ simon are in the room, they only talk to alec
3x08: multiple scenes with izzy
no, owl!jace saying alec would chose jace over him doesn’t count
altho luke/ simon are in the room, they only talk to alec
3x09: 1 scene with izzy
3x10: 1 scene with jace
altho should a scene of him telling the parabatai he gave up his magic for them and them not saying anything count?
final count:
5 episodes (half the season) with NONE
3 episodes of only 1 scene interaction
only 2 episodes where he interacts throughout, yet only with 1 other main
only 1 episode where he gets to talk to another main without alec there
no episodes where he talks to another main and alec isn’t mentioned
SEASON 3B
3x11: 1 scene with izzy
altho jace is in the room, he only to talks alec
3x12: NONE
altho jace/ luke are in the room, they only talk to alec
3x13: 1 scene with izzy
and 1 single line to clary, i guess
3x14: NONE
3x15: NONE
aside from 1 single line to simon, i guess
no, clary/ jace/ izzy unkindly questioning him being there doesn’t count
side note: making magnus be surrounded by a room full of racist-coded shadowhunters in s3 was… a choice. what was the point of that? it showed that apparently only laws have changed but not societal sentiment- outside of the main foursome- since s1 in their mindset towards downworlders. and then they had malec get married amongst these racists a few weeks later?? to show him being treated so disrespectfully (again in s3, so nobody’s mindset progressed outside of the 4) and be made so uncomfortable and then never have them show him any love or treat him as an equal later on (as an individual and not just as half of malec) was… a choice. a bad choice.
3x16: NONE
3x17: NONE
3x18: NONE
altho clary/ jace are in the room, they only talk to alec (and then when he’s sad over something that their 3a choices caused, they leave. in the same episode the writers have maryse say “we’re all here for you”…what a joke.)
3x19: NONE
3x20: NONE
altho izzy/ clary/ jace are in the room, they only talk to alec
3x21: NONE
aside from 1 single line to simon, i guess
no, saying only biscuit doesn’t count
3x22: NONE
altho it’s his wedding day, they don’t let jace/ izzy welcome him into the family but instead irrelevant max.
and altho it’s literally the finale, the ONLY person he gets to talk to is his rival. (side note, but lorenzo and underhill should NOT have been at the wedding after their awful treatment towards him. such two-faced people.)
final count:
10 episodes (the length of a normal half season) with NONE
2 episodes of only 1 scene interaction
0 episodes where he interacts throughout
1 scene where he get to talk to another main without alec there
in his 1 scene in 3x13, he talks to another main and alec isn’t mentioned
i think the point i’m making is obvious: the 3 white showrunners and mostly white writers almost never ever let magnus even talk to any of the other main characters. (he also goes three seasons without a single story arc with another main that lasts more than 1 episode. (no, the writers using luke as a mouthpiece to justify alec’s mistake in 2b does not count.) you know, like how alec had big long arcs with both clary and jace in s1, 2a, and 3a and izzy here and there. even maia, the most neglected character on this show, still got to regularly interact with simon and luke- 2 mains. even luke with his limited screentime, still got to regularly at least talk to literally all of the mains in all his group scenes.
and what about the 3 downworlder mains and alec?
well, altho alec and maia only had 2 scenes together, that’s still twice what magnus/ maia got, seeing as they only had the 1 scene together in 2a.
alec and luke had at least 3 scenes together in s1 that i can remember vs magnus/ luke only having 2 lines in 1x06. both duos had about equal in 2b.
in 3a alec/luke had 5 scenes together. magnus/ luke had none where they actually spoke to each other. in group scenes magnus only talked to alec.
in 3b alec/ luke had 3 scenes. magnus/ luke had none. plus luke told alec that he couldn’t go to his wedding, instead of telling magnus.
in s1 magnus/ simon had maybe 1 line. alec/ simon were interacting constantly throughout, i don’t remember how many scenes it was.
in 2a magnus/ simon had 2 episodes together. in 2b they had 1 scene but i don’t really count it since it was only to have it be literally everyone vs magnus. alec/ simon had 1 scene in 2b and none in 2a.
in 3a alec/ simon had 3 scenes interacting together. magnus/ simon had none where they actually spoke to each other.
in 3b all the fans complaining really paid off! 2 scenes in 3x15. 1 scene each in 3x17, 3x19, 3x20, and 3x21 for a grand total of 6 scenes. plus no talking- yet still in a scene together- in 1 other scene in 3x15, 3x17, 3x18, and 2 others in 3x19, for a grand total of 5, not counting the edom finale scenes. magnus/ simon only said 2 lines to each other in 3b.
not to mention alec stood next to simon in a nice two-shot in 4 separate scenes. it really reminded me of what they do with clary/ alec in group scenes. the writers don’t always give them a lot of dialogue together, but they’re sure to get that dynamic in at least visually. alec always has at least crumbs vs magnus getting nothing. where is that energy from the writers, directors, or fans with magnus and literally any main? really, where is it?
i mean, there was no reason for alec/ simon not to have scenes, but i’m so truly disappointed that this is where the fan effort was spent instead of lobbying for magnus to get to interact with even one main character other than alec, seeing as alec always already get to constantly have many, many, many duo and group scenes and big arcs with the 3 other shadowhunters. and now he gets to be more bonded with all of the main downworlders too instead of magnus with his own people. the writers are so so so wack.
also obviously magnus interacts with alec on a regular basis. the point is that’s it. malec is the main reason why i watch the show, so it matters a great deal, but when every other main is getting vastly more interactions, it’s a problem. also in nearly all of the episodes when alec has scenes with other mains- and magnus is not there- magnus is not mentioned. not so when it’s vice versa.
why not count any supporting characters you may be saying? because that’s not what i hear everyone demanding for alec or the others, is it? because he didn’t interact with raphael, his supposed son, in s1, or at all after 3x01 to the actual finale. because aside from her bringing madzie over in 3x11, catatrina and and him didn’t speak in 3b. she wasn’t even introduced until 3a (so 2 seasons w/o any friends.) they only spoke in 4 scenes total in all of s3. she was his best man, yet that’s not important enough to show on screen. ragnor was literally only 1 episode. who’s left- his jealous, bitter pathetic rival or his father who has obvious gross, creepy incestuous, jealous feelings for him. or alec’s mother, who only had scenes with him for the same reason maia/ jordan had all those scenes- to give them something to do away from the group/ main plotlines. why couldn’t magnus and maia had scenes together also or instead? and being bffs with his bf’s mom but not getting to even TALK to his parabatai, the person alec’s closest to platonically, let alone be friends, is truly beyond words. and also harry and matt are only 5 years apart (kat/ dom have more of an age difference) so i’m tired of the writers/ fans keeping alec in the playpen with his younger co-stars while magnus is separated to only older ones.
and also i just really don’t care about supporting characters. i see them as just taking screentime away from the mains, specifically the downworlder mains, who are already running on limited time. look at 3x13 when they want to do a whole heidi arc, who gets cut- magnus. or in 3x17 when they want to introduce helen and aline, i resented them right off the bat for getting twice as much screentime than magnus, a main character, in that important episode for him. throughout the whole show, whenever supporting characters are getting screentime, it always means magnus, maia, and luke are not. that’s not good.
some final thoughts, nearly every single malec fan spent the entire 9 month hiatus from 3a to 3b relentlessly saying alec needs interactions. as if he didn’t get huge bonding arcs with clary and jace in s1 and 2a and 3a. as if he doesn’t talk to and go places and do things with clary, jace, and izzy nearly every single episode, every single season since the beginning. mighty handy to not count the 3 of them when you want to cry “alec has no friends” every single day, as if he hasn’t had an enemy to friendship arc with clary 3 times in 3 seasons. as if he hasn’t had a dying, can’t live without you arc with jace 3 times in 3 seasons. as if he doesn’t hug jace twice more than magnus per half season. as if he doesn’t have izzy there to lean on and talk to. funny how siblings don’t count as friends when it’s mighty convenient that’s they’re the only mains to have siblings. i would kill, KILL, for magnus to be even talk to jace and izzy let alone be real friends, yet fans are taking their friendships with alec for granted, while simultaneously saying they’re robbed of the parabatai dynamic. that’s rich.
if alec having scenes every other ep, and melodramatic arcs every other half season, wasn’t such a guarantee the fans have learned they could count on, nobody would say that his siblings and clary don’t count. but everyone knew they could say that because we know it wouldn’t be taken away. i mean, look at the stark siblings in game of thrones. they never interacted, and the entire fandom cried about that being the most important friendships to show, but it wasn’t shown. this fandom needs to put things in perspective and stop taking the lightwoods sibs and the shadowhunters squad dyamic for granted and realize that magnus and maia don’t get even a minuscule fraction of that. also want to add that simon got plenty of constant sturdy dynamics too, with clary, jace, luke, maia, and izzy. and fans got their alec/ simon content and yet still so ungrateful. i beg the malecs to compare what magnus gets before complaining.

Adventure Time Reviewed - Season 1 Episode 6 to Episode 8
From The Jiggler to Business Time
S1E06 The Jiggler
This one is about the cautions of adopting cute little forest animals. I wonder why Finn and Jake are covered in so many bite marks? Why was that kingdom on fire? What was going on? How much trouble can one watermelon get into? Anyway this is the first episode to feature Finn’s autotune voice. I can’t remember the last episode he said something in autotune - there was the s6 finale, then a few scenes in season 7.
When they take the Jiggler back home, they Get Creative and escalate until they destroy their entire house interior. I think Princessss made an AMV Nightosphere gag about this.  I love how chiptune noises play every time the Jiggler moves on day 1.
I always loved this episode. I thought it was very disturbing when the Jiggler gets sick, and then explodes. It reminds me of failed attempts to save birds or insects after my cats have gotten to them. I can relate so much to Finn and Jake here. Poor Jake having to keep himself together and look after his traumatized little bro.  I love the OST of this ep. The soundtrack was uploaded to soundcloud once, along with Ricardio the Heart Guy. I love how artistic this ep is with the edible drawings and the painting of the jiggler’s mom. Very bright and colourful. I always found the momma jiggler’s cry to be... weirdly genuine.
S1E07 Ricardio the Heart Guy
This ep starts with Finn saving PB from Ice King, who humorously kisses Jake’s butt. PB gives Finn a kiss on the.... neck? hat? as thanks, and Finn’s crush truly begins. Oooooh boy.  I always wondered in hindsight why Pb let the ice king roam free to begin with. That question is raised later in this season. Ice King kidnaps dozens of princesses daily and roams free, but Princess Cookie starts 1 hostage situation and is locked up forever. In the ep What Have You Done, it’s reasoned IK can only be punished for recent crimes, but... ehh, there are a few reasons. Pity? Old ties? Maybe she doesnt want to lock up a pathetic old man forever.  There are some really funny statues of Finn and Jake in the castle, they look buff. I wonder who made these? PB commissioning them makes a lot of sense. Hey, it’s Peppermint Butler’s first speaking lines!!!  “This style of massage is called Best Friend Massage. Because it can only be done for friends. It is completely consensual.” Well the first line from Ricardio the Rapist Stand-in is already incredibly sus. What’s even more sus is he’s apparently friends with LSP.  I find it interesting that Ricardio is so intelligent. This must have been one of the motivators behind making Simon really smart. Ricardio is his heart, at the end of the day. Oh, Simon at the end of the show still has maracas in place of a heart. I wonder if that has health complications?
“I hear you appreciate ancient technology.” This is foreshadowing of MULTIPLE things now. One - Ice King being pre-war. Two - PB building everything out of pre-war technology. Three - The fact there was a war to begin with!!!!
Jake is trying to help Finn deal with his new emotions of jealousy (burning low war flashbacks) and he’s once again trying to make him happy, Jake never once considered the logistics of whether Finn and PB would ever actually go out, because it was far more important to him that Finn grow up and have the courage to listen to his heart. Jake encourages Finn’s crush to a fault, and provides lots of support to him when he’s heartbroken later on.
I love how PB and Ricardio were talking about dangerous micro-organisms and poor Finn has no idea how to approach the topic. I love how Zanoits are actualy dangerous and Ricardio uses them as a poison later.  Anyway even PB can tell Finn is jealous. Finn is of the idea that she has no idea of his crush on her. Of course she knows. But from her side it’s exactly the same as Baby-snaps wanting to be a princess, or every other candy person doting on her - she thinks it’s adorable and completely fails to take the other person seriously. At least, until Braco comes along. Then you realise it’s a good thing she didn’t take Finn seriously, because she might have done something ridiculous like make him a robot clone of herself.
Holy shit, the duck from The Vault!  I just made a post about it.
Tumblr media
Anyway this ep provides a challenge to Finn or a test of his character, ironically through his own test of Ricardio’s character! Finn gets obsessed with proving Ricardio evil to the point that he gets easily baited into punching him, and doesn’t care that the Ice King is basically dying. Poor Ice King. At least Jake is here to approach the situation with a level head.
I was wondering as of late, with all the post-Obsidian sexuality discourse (in no way ignited by that one towel scene), whether PB was interested in Ricardio during this ep. It’s possible, and in the past, I thought “maybe”? But upon rewatch? No. She is only interested for as long as she can have scientific discussions with him, and as soon as his knowledge becomes lacking she has already used him for all hes worth. SAVAGE. But not as savage as him trying to rip out her heart. Ew, creep!!!
I should say that Ice King wanted to cast a spell that would force PB to fall in love with him. He’s NOT safe, he’s dangerous. He’s especially a danger to PB. He does kill her twice at the end of season 2, after all. Once again I don’t know why she hasn’t locked him up LOL. Anyway, even if he did cast a love spell, she wouldn’t change any of her decisisons. It’d just make her sad, like it did at the end of The Suitor.  There was that one time PB tried to make a love potion but we don’t talk about that.  Ice King does demonstrate some concern for Bubblegum’s welfare when he reveals Ricardio’s plan to literally murder her. Ricardio’s plan here is pretty slapstick violent, and it’s funny watching Finn beat him up, but when he returns in season 4, it’s far more... personal and insidious. As in, here he could be seen as a jokey stand-in for a predator creep, but in that later episode he 100%  sexually threatens her and forces her into a non consensual relationship, making it very satisfying when PB beats the shit out of him instead.
Tumblr media
Holy fuck I forgot about this joke. Golden.
S1E08 Business Time
For some reason, I don’t feel like there’s a lot to say about this ep. It doesn’t demonstrate any remarkable characteristics of Finn and Jake themselves. Instead, it seems to be more of an inside joke.
When they find the business men, Finn and Jake at first feel like the business men are helping them work more effectively with their assists. However, the boys end up just being lazy, and not realizing that their workers are messing everything up. You can sympathise for the business men because they’re just doing what they were told to do.  This all seems to be metaphorical for when Pen and Patrick McHale started work on the show, and they got tons of help from Cartoon Network staff. They wanted to do everything by themselves, but ended up having to delegate. Maybe they feel lazy for it?
What makes this episode EXTRA SPECIAL, however, is its confirmation of the Great Mushroom War.  By the time the season had released, the first shot of the intro was already Mushroom War bombs. There was also a reference to the war in the previous episode, where PB and Ricardio shared an interest in “ancient technology”. However, the only reason those references exist is because of THIS episode - This is the one they were working on when they decided it should be post-apocalyptic. They made the human zombies, and the icebergs filled with human junk, and then every GMW reference we see in the show is down to this decision.
I enjoy the physicality of this ep. Finn and Jake crash through the entire gauntlet. Finn’s still wearing his fire resistant glove as he does it. They get covered in bruises, because they... like pain? I liked when you could see Finn’s sword legit being shinier, and his shoes having bouncing noises. And I want to be hydrated! I loved how smushy Jake was when he became an ice cream monster.  I love the colours of the Fluffy People. S1 has this unique art style compared to the rest of the series. They often draw white outlines to white things, it works nice here.

Mike you look so cute! you know what this means, Foxy its story time with mike and phoney!!
(5/5) (And a read more, because this ended up being the length of half a one-shot, I’m so sorry.) “I ALREADY TOLD YOU-“ But before Mike could finish, Foxy had rushed up, almost jumping him in excitement, his tail wagging. “Story time?! Aye, we can do that! Right Mike? Right?” “I-“ Gritting his teeth Mike stared at the golden-eyed machine that seemed utterly hopeful. “You fucking know, I’m not just-“ Shortly he looked up, spotting Phone Guy watching on, radiating a certain form of bemusement that infuriated Mike every bit. This asshole KNEW he couldn’t refuse the dumb machine and he was relishing in it! Fucking- Fine.
But Mike would take him with him into this stupid hell. “… you know what, Foxy, let’s do this. Though if I have to play the princess, you and Simon have to be my royal parents.” “Sure can do!” The Fox rose up his hook, dangerously close to Mike’s eye. Phone Guy on the other hand looked MORTIFIED. “I, uh-“ Mike grinned. “What? You don’t want to? You don’t want to even pretend to marry Foxy? Do you hate him THAT much?!” The Fox actually turned now too, making himself smaller, looking concerned. “I- won’t try to make you-“ A bit overwhelmed the poor guy shook his head. “No, no, that- uh-“ Old Sport joined in. “We all know you like Foxy, so you’re going to take the role!” “Uh-“ The Orange Guy grinned wide. “Alrighty Foxy, what’s the story?!” Excited the animatronic wiggled. “Okay, o-“ “NOT the fucking sun princess. We’re NOT doing that again.” Mike called out. “That’s the other demand. We gotta put up something new.” “Aye, I wanted to do that anyways! If Phone Guy is my wife, and Mike our princess son, theeeeeeeeeeen…” “You gotta make space for ALL of us though!” Old Sport instantly called out. “I’m sure everyone here wants to take part!” “Arr…” The Pirate Fox looked around, trying to come up with something good- Then his eyes fell onto Ethan sitting in the back, his eyes wandering over the scene, seemingly lost in thought. “AHA!” Roaring in success, Foxy jumped onto the nearest table. “Ay, today we have a truly THRILLING tale! It’s a tale about MURDER!” Appropriately, Dave, Old Sport and Jerry gasped. The other animatronics who had stepped closer by now as well, joined in, mostly out of peer pressure though. They had no idea what was going on. “You!” Foxy gestured at Ethan, who seemed a little bit worried. “… yes?” “You must investigate a MURDER!” There wasn’t any response from Ethan, more like the strained silence of a man in a situation that was bad, but not quite bad enough to allow for any sort of lament. There is no release. Just endless torment. Foxy didn’t seem to notice the agony radiating from the man, as he looked about, scratching his snout. “But who died… who died… oh. You.” He pointed at the Marionette, who seemed for a moment offended, then scoffed. “I didn’t want to take part in this anyways.” “Yes, a terrible murder, of a guest from far, far away! A powerful political figure- but what for? Money? For war? What could have happened? Who could have done it?! Detective, you may step closer, to the mourning couple!" Before Phone Guy knew what was happening, Foxy jumped down beside him, dragging him close and started to dramatically sob. Ethan, who had been forced to step up by the sheer expectation of all the spirits surrounding him, coughed uncomfortable. But Chica stepped up, smiling brightly. "I want to be your help! I'm sure we will make a GREAT team! We will solve this mystery!" For a moment Ethan seemed taken aback, then his expression shifted into quiet sadness, before he shook his head and gathered himself. "That... would be good." Foxy wailed out. "MR. DETECTIVE! It is HORRIBLE! How could this have happened?!" "... the most terrible things can happen when people meet, Mr-" "Lord Fuchsia." "... Lord Fuchsia." Chica giggled excited, before trying to act out more serious. "Lord Fuchsia, that is why people like us exist! To right the wrongs. We may cannot help poor-" "Lord Marion-nâte." No, she couldn't say it, she broke out into another slew of laughter. The Puppet who had laid down on the ground in his best "murdered" pose groaned. Mike didn't manage to grasp the situation. "What the fuck is going on." Instantly Foxy began wailing again. "MIKE! OUR DEAREST DAUGHTER. LEAVE THIS ROOM! AVERT YOUR EYES!" "... in that order?" Looking at the body, then at Ethan he rose an eyebrow. Neither of them really knew what to do now, but due to a nudge from the quietly panicking Foxy, Simon coughed and spoke up. "Mr. Detective, we, uh- we have gathered everyone who was in the house during that time. Including uh- the princess. Yeah." Instantly Ethan spoke up. "The princess? Not your daughter?" "Uh-" A bit taken aback Simon stumbled. "I'm-" Instantly Foxy picked up. "We... remarried. It's a bit of a tense situation, please be discrete about this." Shortly Ethan nodded. "Of course. Would you mind introducing me to the rest of the people attending?" Knowing this was their cue, the others gathered closer, animatronics and people alike. Foxy swiftly turned. "There is Freddy, the most talented cook in all the lands, hired here recently. Bonnie is a capable musician and was providing our gathering with light entertainment, before the situation transpired... there is Jeremy, he's- our most loyal servant, he has been with us ever since I can remember. And that is-" Finally he truly started stumbling, looking at Nemo. Dramatically the boy flipped his hair back, the empty eye socket visible for a second. "How DARE you? Standing here so casually, shedding your crocodile tears- when it was MY FATHER who was MURDERED!" The Marionette made another noise, but before he could object, Nemo continued. "You're not doing anything! YOU DON'T CARE ABOUT FINDING THE MURDERER! This is all a pathetic attempt at distracting everyone here- when it clearly was YOU who was at fault! One way or another- you might not have murdered him, but you helped planning it! And I will prove it!" Even more dramatically he turned around and rushed away, leaving the scene. Shaken up, Lord Fuchsia looked after him, before shuddering and turning to the last two. "And... these two... they're-" Dave interjected. "Lord Eggplânt and Lord Orânge. We have been called here because we wanted to make a deal with Lord Marion-nâte. Now, of course, that seems to be done with. Must we stay?" Chica instantly moved forward, pointing at them. "Yes. Nobody will leave until the culprit was found! It could be YOU." With a devastating glare, the Purple Guy froze the animatronic in place. "That is defamation and we will NOT be treated like this. Watch your language young lady, or you will regret it..." "Don't talk to her like this." Instantly Ethan stepped in front of her, real rage breaking out of his expression, boiling under the surface. "We aren't accusing anyone, but everyone is a suspect until we can prove otherwise. Please sit down." Everyone turned silent. Another moment passed. Ethan looked around, then took a breath. "Now that you all know me-" "Fuck this shit, I'm out. Going to..." Mike wrecked his brain. "... play with one of my 100 ponies I guess." "You seem not concerned over the corpse in this room at all!" The detective called out. Foxy spoke up. "No! He is just- uh- he's sensible. He doesn't know how to emote!" Chica laughed. "Oh certainly. Most murderers don't know how to emote actually!" Lord Fuchsia gasped and grabbed Simon's arm. "HAVE YOU HEARD THAT!?" "Uh- yeah, that's uh- terrible. Mike wouldn't ever kill someone!" At least the second part had some level of conviction. "You're wrong in your suspicion!" Ethan rubbed his temples. "Okay. Now that one of the suspects is out of the room, I think we can forget a group interrogation- everyone may leave for now, while I check on the body and what we can deduct from it. Nobody touched him, right?" "No. Nobody." Jeremy nodded, with a grave expression. "Good. Nobody is allowed to leave the premises until the murder is found." Everyone began turning away, leaving, all telling Foxy first what they were going to do, out of character. Freddy first. "I am going into the kitchen. I am scared that someone is trying to frame me, seeing as most weapons are in there. I want to check and get rid of it if it's there." Then Bonnie. "I am high-strung and tense, I guess." He rolled his eyes a bit. "I'm going to play a little on my guitar, because I feel like that will be the least suspicious thing to do. I know more than I let on!" Dave and Old Sport grinned, knowing they were making shit up and nobody would stop them. "We leave, but into a SECRET PATHWAY! We will spy on the detective and what he's finding out!" Phone Guy shook his head. "I, uh- I begin wandering the hallways, uneasy." Foxy wagged his tail, very pleased with how it was going. Then Chica spoke up. "I will follow the people around and make sure they won't leave this place! I'll be back in a bit, detective!" "Hey, you shouldn't-" But before Ethan could tell her off, she was already away from the scene, walking around dramatically as though she was trying to look for someone. Then Jerry stepped up, smiling excited. "I will leave too, I get myself a knife and I kill Chica." Suddenly it was completely silent. "Aye- uh." Foxy opened his eyepatch. "... you wanna... really? You?" "Yes! Nobody will suspect me! I'm killing in the name of my Lord, who has almost been betrayed by the business deal between the evil Dave and Old Sport and Marion! And now I plan to get rid of someone else and find the right person to frame! Emotions will cloud the detective's judgement if his helper is dead!" Marion had sat up. Foxy nervously scratched his snout. "... okay, I guess that makes sense-" Cowering down a bit, Jerry began sneaking towards Chica, who dutifully showed him her back. She still seemed in a good mood. "I will haunt you though! I WILL become a ghost!" "That's okay!" Jeremy answered, holding his hand as though there was a knife in there. "But you will never see the light of day again. I will take the knife and ram it into the back of your head, I will twist it, again and again and-" Suddenly he was hit by something from the side, black and white, pinning him down, claws tightly wrapped around his shoulders as he was shaken so hard, everything flickered. 'STOP THAT! STOP THAT STOP THAT STOP THAT-' The voice echoed loudly through everyone's head, causing everyone a moment of pain, before Jeremy yelped. "I'M- I STOPPED. IT'S OKAY." When everything stopped moving, the young guard looked up at the distraught and upset looking puppet, feeling equally as scared. "... what- what happened? The Marionette just looked down at him, then clawed at his own face, trying to hide it. He couldn't say anything. This was just so terrible. So, so terrible. It clicked with Jeremy and he gently grabbed the machine, hugging him, feeling quite awful. "... it's okay. I'm sorry. I- I should have thought about this better- I'm-" Foxy stepped closer too, ears flat on his head. "Aye, I'm sorry... shouldn't have... did we trigger some bad memories?" The snake-like machine hissed. "No. No it's fine. I'm fine." Jeremy shook his head. "O-obviously not! You can't just- I'm-" "It's FINE." With that the Marionette floated upwards, dragging Jeremy along. Everyone else was left behind, looking after them. Finally Mike sighed and took off the dress, revealing the guard uniform below it. "... I guess the fucking play is over for now, huh?" The group dispersed. Nobody really wanted to continue the play. Maybe next time.

Spilling Tea On Phantom of the Opera 2004
Tumblr media
DISCLAIMER: I just want to say from the start that it is not my intention to offendanyone, you're entitled to your opinions and I'm allowed to have mine...
Ok, so, I just watched this movie a few days ago on my laptop and it was pretty much my first time sitting through the movie. I watched a few clips of the movie on YouTube but... Then, I decided to watch the whole movie. And this was my reaction.
Tumblr media
Don't get me wrong! There WERE parts I liked but... That was just half of the movie... But overall... Um... It was meh. Ahem. Down to business!
My opinion on Gerard Butler as the Phantom? Um, wow. And not in a good way. I feel like this was a case of a talented performer being grossly miscast as the Phantom. I think this Tumblr post best describes on what I thought of his singing.
"He's supposed to have the voice of an angel, but it sounds like he's been gargling vinegar" ~Quoted by @faded-florals
Don't get me wrong. His voice is quite good for an untrained singer but... The Phantom is one of the biggest musical theatre roles of all time! It's right up there with Jean Valjean. It's really not a role that could go a competent singer, someone who's never sang professionally before but could be good once they've been trained up a bit. The role demands a truly great singer... And he wasn't right for the part.
His voice felt too strainy, growly and rock-ish for the Phantom. I didn't like how Joel Schumacher bought into the whole "sexy Phantom" thing and cast a hunky heart-throb, who was nowhere near disfigured enough. It's meant to be a gothic thriller novel with a small romantic subplot, not a B-grade vampire romance movie!
As for Emmy Rossum as Miss Christine Daae... it's true, her voice is good. She should know though, should she wish to excel, she has MUCH still to learn (Heeeeehee. Sorry. Couldn't resist.)
Emmy's Christine had little-to-no character growth and personality but I don't think it reflects her as an actress, but reflects more on the director and casting director because of how young she was (but more on that later)
Not only that, her Christine was SIGNIFICANTLY dumbed down and oversexualized. I mean, the entire point of the story is that Christine grows strong enough to overcome the trauma of an abusive relationship and make sure that her abuser never hurts anyone ever again but still shows the Phantom compassion and sympathy. I mean, her story arc is her becoming strong-willed enough to overcome the Phantom's pull/spell/enchantment/hypnosis or whatever you percieve it as on her! And don't get me started on her costumes because of the SEVERE lack of modesty.
The chemistry was a little flat because she was underage and her two male love interests were both in their 30s (which totally isn't HER fault, of course, but the directors could easily have cast someone else older)
Her voice, too, strikes me as being much too young and undeveloped. She has a very pretty, sweet-sounding quality to her singing but she doesn't sound rich and operatic enough to be a convincing Christine. Rebecca Caine and Amy Manford do the best job of singing the way I think Christine ought to sound- a maturing opera voice! Though POTO is NOT an opera (you wouldn't believe how many people actually think it is...), it does revolve around opera, and Christine is an opera singer, not a pop star.
And now onto... Everyone's favourite vicomte!!!!!!
C'mon people, put your bottles down. It is a truth universally acknowledged (or at least in the wee Raoul Defense Squad Circle) that Raoul is one of the greatest and most underrated boyfriends to ever exist in musical theatre and it's almost impossible to hate him because of how relatable he is.
Ladies, puh-leeze. He's much more relatable than you admit and face it, we all have a little bit of Raoul in us. Failure to see things staring us in the face, saying or doing the wrong thing at the wrong time, having a 'see it to believe it' attitude when we have little-to-no evidence on something... yeah, don't pretend you don't see a trend. Raoul is relatable whether we want him to be or not.
My thoughts on Patrick Wilson as Raoul, he was one of the few redeeming qualities of this not so great movie. Yeah, the swordfight and Tarzan leaps were a little too much but can you blame him?! And though I feel like that foppish wig made him look more like a magic elf prince than a vicomte, he couldn't control that!
His Raoul was so gentle and caring! Yeah, his acting was a bit stiff but at least his voice wasn't a chore to listen to, it has this warm, tender, comforting quality to it which suits Raoul. I really loved the way he sang "Don't throw away your life for my sake" and "I fought so hard to free you" in the Final Lair (😭😭😭) It feels like Raoul is genuinely apologising to Christine.
I know, I know... The Hadley Fraser fans are approaching with menacing expressions as we speak but let me clarify. I still think Hadley is amazing but... His Raoul kinda felt a little too shouty for me and his Raoul was closer to the LND-canon than POTO-canon (not his fault though).
Miranda Richardson (aka. Rita Skeeter) as Madame Giry is kind of weird. I mean, I know Madame Giry's supposed to be a little Strange and Mysterious. But this Mme. wasn't really Strange or Mysterious at all, or even slightly Spooky at all. She was just kind of an oddball. Popping up in random places to give warnings about the Phantom and looking at people as if she were questioning their life choices or something. As for her daughter... well, Jennifer Ellison's Meg was so-so. She's got a sweet-sounding voice and that added scene where she looked for Christine in the lair was a nice touch... But... Her Meg was kinda forgettable and uninteresting. Meg is supposed to prance around shrieking that the Phantom of the Opera is here, not whisper it in a blase manner that you half expect to be followed up with, "by the way, what's for lunch?" Not to mention, she rivaled Christine as far as low-necked costumes went.
Minnie Driver as Carlotta was spot on! Yes, I know she didn't sing the score but her acting was alright. She was very over-the-top and self-centered, which is great for Carlotta, but I felt her portrayal was a little too childish to be accurate. Carlotta is a successful middle-aged diva who's willing to scream and storm when she doesn't get her way, but she isn't a two-year-old pouting and throwing tantrums. (Yes, there's a difference.)
Ciaran Hinds and Simon Callow played Firmin and Andre, respectively. Their managers kinda felt like twits and nothing more. Also, Firmin's masquerade costume was ridiculous. The stupid kind, not the funny kind. ...Well, okay, it was a little funny.
I'm not going to touch on every song here, but I will say that "Hannibal" was beyond awful (if you thought the costumes in the stage version were a bit risque, you should see the movie ones- no, actually you shouldn't) and that "Think of Me," while very nice, was not particularly memorable. Christine's dress, however (despite its less-than-ideal neckline) was GORGEOUS, even though it looks completely out of place in a musical that supposedly takes place in ancient Alexandria.
"Little Lotte" kinda lost its charm by being spoken instead of sung. And Gerard Butler's voice in "The Mirror" was too rough and raspy for my ears and made me cringe in sympathetic shame. The title song was like a cheesy, campy B-grade horror movie tbh, trying way too hard to be spooky and chilling ("ooh, look, Phantom's Lair! It's DARK and SCARY down here!") and succeeding only in being cringeworthy. Not that I've actually ever seen a bad horror movie- or any horror movie at all, for that matter. Unless you count this one.
Christine's costume, too, annoyed me no end. She was basically wearing a corset and drawers under the dressing gown. *facepalm* The dressing gown is supposed to go OVER your COSTUME to keep it CLEAN, peeps. It's not a BATHROBE. And the amount of eye makeup she had on would terrify a raccoon. Yikes.
Though I liked the random horse because of its nod to the Leroux novel.
"Music of the Night" was so blah-slash-touchy-feely that it made me summarily uncomfortable.
I'd like to be able to say something nice about "I remember/Stranger than you dreamt it" but I have none. One thing that bugged me to no end was how Christine is no longer wearing stockings, like dude, that gives some GROSS implications. Anyways, let's skip to Il Muto!
Oh, but first I should say that "Notes" was rather a flop and that "Prima Donna" is unmemorable and indeed should probably be fast-forwarded as there's a rather unsavory bit involving a crew member showing the audience what he thinks of Carlotta's behaviour.
"Il Muto," I must say, was pretty doggone funny. Carlotta's "Your part is silent. Leetle toad," cracked me up into a bunch of giggling little pieces, and the little vignette of the Phantom tinkering with Carlotta's throat spray made her croaking later on a lot more believable.
Now for "All I Ask Of You", SQUEEEEEE!!!!!!!!! I honestly can't understand how anyone could listen to this song and still maintain that Christine and Raoul don't belong together. He represents everything she needs- stability, protection, a guiding hand and affirmed affection. She represents everything he needs, in turn- someone to show affection to and his childhood friend.
One thing I definitely think could have been left out was the scene in which Erik kills Buquet- we totally did not need to see him being chased, terrified, through the rafters and finally strangled. Gross.
And the Phantom and his rose crouching behind that statue... I think this was supposed to be sad, but there was too much snot mixed with tears for it to be sad. It was, again, gross. So was Gerard Butler's pathetic attempt at the "all that the Phantom asked of you" line. And the lack of a chandelier crash in that scene made the song anticlimactic.
And "Masquerade" was so-so but... The Phantom's entrance is anticlimactic somehow, and his Red Death costume (if indeed it's supposed to even BE the Red Death) is unimpressive. I don't like how Raoul just runs off to desert Christine as soon as things start looking ugly (yes, I realize he was going to get his sword, but still... something could have happened to her while he was gone. Duh, did this guy learn anything from "Little Lotte/The Mirror"? Just sayin)
As for Madame Giry's flashback immediately following, I like how it gives us some of the Phantom's backstory, but it seems really abrupt. You don't even realize until she's done that she was talking to Raoul the whole time- it sounds like she's just randomly reminiscing about Stuff, and if you didn't know the story you might be sitting there thinking, "who is this strange woman again?"
Also, Christine leaving wherever-it-is at, like, five in the morning to go to who-knows-where, completely oblivious to the fact that the Phantom is driving her. Whaaaaaaaaa? How'd he know she was planning to go for a graveyard stroll? Was he watching her through the mirror again? THAT'S JUST CREEPY.
"Wishing You Were Somehow Here Again" was rather mediocre and dulled down the fact that it is a Christine Empowerment™ song. Why, exactly, does Christine's father have the biggest monument in the cemetery? If he were a rich and famous violinist as his crypt seems to suggest, why on earth was his daughter struggling along as a chorus girl taking free music lessons?
The swordfight... Well... I had mixed feelings about it. Sword fights are all well and good, but... The swordfight takes away the element of mysterious danger to the Phantom. Okay, fine, Christine getting Raoul to spare the Phantom's life is a nice touch, I guess, but did it strike no one else that his "now let it be war upon you BOTH" makes absolutely NO sense after that? If she just saved his life, why would he suddenly be all, "thanks, but no thanks, I'M GOING TO MURDER YOUUUUUUUUUU"?
And "Twisted Every Way" was after "Wishing" which made ZERO sense. Plus, I didn't like how they cut most of it because in the musical, it gave Christine a spine!
"Point of No Return"? Hooooooo boy....... There are so many things wrong with this number. Let's just a list a few.
*HOW did no one recognise the Phantom through his "disguise"?! At least in the stage play, it made more sense because of how he was wearing a cloak that obscured most of his body.
*Christine's sleeves falling down over and over again were REALLY annoying.
*It was just too touchy-feely for my taste.
*The fact that Emmy Rossum was a teenager during filming made this scene gross because of the way they oversexualized Christine in this scene.
*Gerard Butler's voice in that scene made me cringe and shake my head in sympathetic shame.
*In the stage play, Christine ran from him, showing her own agenda and resistance to his pull! While in the movie, she didn't resist him!
*Now for the one that took the cake... The disfigurement! Or it would be a disfigurement if it actually made him look, y'know, deformed. Instead, as several people have put it, he looks like he got a bad sunburn or something. It's really rather pathetic. It makes him look more like a drama queen than he already is! Yeah.... I really don't like this movie.
On to... Final Lair!!!!!!!! It was a flop. From Raoul's whining and flailing around and his stringy hair flopping about (shallow complaint, I know, but it's so ugly) to Christine's sappy melodramatic "don't make me choooooooose" faces to the Phantom's prancing around with his ropes and maniacal laughter that somehow wasn't really scary at all... yeah, it was a flop. A major, major flop. And though The Kiss wasn't all that bad, all I could think of was, "She's SIXTEEN! SIX! TEEN! THIS IS CREEPY, DISTURBING AND GROSS!"
Which is why it's so difficult for me to admit that, um, I... cried at the end.
I COULDN'T HELP IT GUYS HE WAS ALL ALONE THERE IN HIS LAKE WITH HIS MONKEY AND HIS SMASHED MIRRORS AND HE WAS CRYING AND IT WAS SAD.
And then that rose on the gravestone? That single red rose? And the look on Old Raoul's face (still Patrick Wilson, by the way, under all that makeup) when he saw it and realized he wasn't the only one visiting Christine's grave? Yup, I lost it again there, too. And I really didn't want to. Because I tend to cry over movies I love, y'know? And I didn't love this movie. At all
Yet I still cried at the end. I'm not really sure why. I think perhaps it had something to do with the way the story still "got" me, deep down inside, despite the lousy casting and less-than-perfect singing and ridiculously unnecessary elements that totally didn't need to be there. It's still a tragically beautiful romance, and even a bad film can't kill that.
In conclusion, I think Mary Poppins can best express what I thought of POTO 2004.
In conclusion, I rate it a 2.7/5

Neverland, Boom (part 14)
The words are on repeat in his mind as Baz tries to stumble his way out of the house. The pain in Simon's voice, the tears on his cheeks, are certainly etched into his memory forever. A permanent engraving in his mind of his failure. It was all coming together so beautifully––all those years of wishing on a star, of tracing Simon's outline on the cover of the book, of telling stories. Of wanting to meet Simon. Of being in love with him before he even knew what it meant to be in love. Part of Baz feels like this isn't right because they really only met a day ago, but it's more than that and he knows it. Simon's been there for years, listening to Baz's stories and then listening to the painful fights and arguments with his father. And Baz has been holding onto the glorious vision of Simon since his mother's death. Probably before that, too. Simon Snow has always been the constant in his life and Baz was so close to having all of his dreams come true and he just went and fucked it all up in less than a moment.
It's cold outside. And raining. Vacantly, he wonders if the weather somehow mimics Simon's emotions. He told Baz that he didn't have any magic, but Baz knows that it was a lie. Maybe Simon doesn't know it, but he is bloody powerful. When he was upset in the kitchen, the air got so hot and electric that Baz's skin started to itch. It brought tears to his eyes. And it was real and terrifying and so inexplicably Simon.
Someone grabs him from behind, throwing their foul-smelling hand over his mouth. He wants to scream, wants to fight, but he can't because they're grabbing his arms, too. His wrists are bound together with tight, painful rope that digs into his skin.
"We've got Basilton, Cap'n," a deep voice whispers, cutting through the darkness.
Captain Humdrum appears from the darkness, his smile illuminated eerily even in the dense fog. In his hands he holds a package wrapped in white paper with a green bow tied around it. Baz can make out his own name attached to the bottom of the gift tag and he knows that nothing good can come of this. He fights against his restraints but the rope's done up too tight and the hand is firm around his mouth, probably bruising his cheeks. Tears come to his eyes as he realizes that he is completely helpless against his captors––against the pirates. He glares at Captain Humdrum because he can do little else but kick his feet furiously in protest of it all.
The man comes over to Baz and strokes his cheek with the back of his scarred hand. It makes Baz want to vomit.
The captain holds the gift up and takes the tag between his fingers. "To Simon with love," he reads. "From Basilton." He tosses the package over to Mr. Mage who Baz can see looming behind the captain. "I think it'll work quite nicely, don't you?"
Baz tries to scream but his sounds are muffled by the large hand still on his mouth.
The captain waves his hand and Baz's world turns black.
When he wakes, he's tied to the mast. He looks around finds that he's surrounded by pirates with gleaming eyes and unsettling grins. His mouth has been freed from that ghastly hand, allowing him to scream and protest.
"What do you want with me?"
The captain himself emerges from the hoard and smiles down at him. "I want you to join us, me boy!"
Baz rolls his eyes. "I would never join you. You repulse me."
The captain does not look pleased with this response, but Baz wonders why he would expect anything else. "If you refuse to join, you shall walk the plank."
"He'll come for me, you know. Simon Snow will save me." He doesn't know if it's true, but he hopes it is. That even if they had a falling out, Simon's hero complex will force him to come and save the day like he always does.
The captain laughs at him and soon all of the other pirates are laughing, too. It's a melancholic wave of laughter, one that is most definitely forced. It's pathetic, really, that the captain has these people wrapped around his finger just to have someone appreciate him. It's sad and disgusting and walking the plank seems like a welcomed exit at this point. At least it will stop Baz from feeling so fucking guilty about all of this. About Simon.
"Simon Snow will save him, Mage," the captain chuckles, leaning onto Mr. Mage as his body subsides from laughter.
"Simon Snow will save him!" Mr. Mage laughs in agreement.
After a moment, when the laughter has finally subsided, the captain turns his focus back to Baz. He removes his ridiculous feathered hat and bows. "A thousand pardons, me boy. I don't believe you are in on our little joke." He stands and puts his hat back on. "You see, we left that present for Simon."
Baz's fists clench at his side as he recalls the memory. The present, wrapped up neatly with the green bow, with his name signed on it.
"Sorta a...surprise package, you might say!" Mr. Mage grins.
"Why, I can see our little friend at this very moment," the captain says, sighing lustfully and staring up like he's having some weird, psychotic vision of it. "Reading the tender inscription..."
He doesn't say anything for a while. Instead, he just stares off into the distance with that sadistic smile on his face. For a gloomy pirate, he sure does do a lot of smiling.
He comes back to his senses after a moment. "What he would see within the package...oh! He would find an ingenious little device."
Mr. Mage clears his throat. "Set so, when the hands are like..." he contorts his arms so one is extended straight above his head, pointer finger extended, and the other straight below him in the same fashion. "This––"
"Simon Snow will be blasted out of Neverland. Forever!"
Baz feels his blood boil. Surely, he thinks, the pirates can't be smart enough to pull off something so intricate. There are too many variables for them to handle. According to Simon, and from his own knowledge of things, the pirates are too idiotic to aim a cannon correctly, let alone pull of some grand plan that finally ends Simon Snow.
"No!" Baz protests, the tears falling again. He fights against his restraints but it's no use. He's trapped and Simon Snow might die. And Baz can't help but feel that it's all his fault.
Somewhere within the cabin, behind the closed door, glass shatters.
"But time grows short," the captain grins, producing a clock and holding it out to show Baz. "We have but..." he looks at it, "eighteen seconds."
Baz struggles again against the ropes.
"Fifteen seconds."
He wills the land to give him something, anything, that might help him save Simon. The ability to burn through rope. To fly. To shoot laser beams from his eyes.
"Thirteen seconds."
Should he have refused Simon's request to join him in Neverland?
"Eleven seconds."
If he had stayed home, none of this would be happening. He would grow up and Simon would be off adventuring with Penny until the end of his days.
"Eight seconds."
But if he didn't come, he never would have known what it was like to truly be happy. Because that's what Simon is for him––happiness. It's all Simon's ever been for him. All that Simon will continue to be until Baz takes his final breath.
"Five seconds."
So, no. He's glad he came. He's glad that he got to show Simon, if only for a brief while, how much he loves him.
"Three seconds."
And Simon loves him, too. And he's sure of that. And now he can die happily knowing that Simon got to add an epic love story to his list of adventures.
"One second..."
There's a large, gut-wrenching explosion on the island. A chunk of the land explodes into a mushroom cloud of red fire and black smoke and the pure magnitude of it sends a shockwave through the water that rocks the boat for a few seconds.
And all Baz can do is watch in horror as he realizes that his worst fears have come to fruition.
Simon Snow, the love of his sorry excuse for a life, is dead.
And instead of letting himself feel the heartbreak, the total, consuming pain of it, he shuts down. His heart isn't any good to him anyway. Not anymore. His heart isn't even in his body––it's just been blown to bits in Hangman's Tree.

Adrenaline (Multi) 1/? ~ Goldingings
isn’t it funny?
how everything changed for our very eyes?
there was a time where things were equal
when things were fair
diversity used to be celebrated
but now if you’re different you’re treated as a monster.
there was a time when you could freely express your gender, your sexuality, your religion, your race.
and what a time that must have been to be alive.
“Smile!” Shea’s mother gushed as the camera clicked and the flash went off. Shea kept her fakest smile on as she stood next to her brother in her black knee length dress. Her hair perfectly pinned up and minimal makeup. Her brother stood in a smaller sweater vest and crisp white shirt. They were posing like a normal, happy brother and sister,
but Shea hated every moment.
“That’s wonderful!” Her mom said delighted as she admired the photograph on her camera screen. She looked up for a moment and smiled at Shea. “You might want to dress up before Simon comes dear,” she said, her voice oozing with honey, which was far to sickly for Shea.
Simon Davis.
the dullest man Shea had ever met.
he was roughly 6’ with a medium build. He wasn’t bad looking but he certainly wasn’t good looking in Shea’s eyes. He happened to have the most boring hobbies, fishing and chess. But he was wealthy,
extremely wealthy.
Therefore he was approved as a ‘suitable’ suitor for Shea.
this may have been normal for any other family, but shea liking girls would change everything. She’d known since she was 13, when seeing her next door neighbors perfect brunette curls roll down her back and seeing her in a Deep Purple knee length dress. And for 13 year old Shea, that was the most beautiful thing she’d ever seen.
That didn’t matter though, nothing she felt mattered in this world. She couldn’t help but feel hopeless, therefore pathetic. She was 24 years old and she still lived the life of a child. She had to do something. All of this pain, boredom, anger, shame and sadness was building up inside of her, she hated how she felt and she had grown a self hatred from it.
Shea just nodded at her mother, knowing anything that would come out of her mouth would be offensive to her simple minded mother. She darted out of that room as fast as she could possibly run and went into her room.
She sat at her dressing table and gazed into the mirror. She pulled her hair out of its loose bun and watched the curls roll down her back. She didn’t do anything else, she just sat, staring at the woman in front of her.
Shea didn’t know this woman, even though this was her own reflection. She looked like a doll, there was no glisten in her eyes, only dullness. She didn’t know herself. She only knew that she would be stuck this way for as long as she stayed here, and she would rather die than live a dreadful life such as this.
Shea sighed and began to apply her makeup and changing into a new dress her mother had brought her, which some could say was slightly more revealing than her mother would have anticipated. She gazed back into the mirror, this time finding a slight sense of comfort in her reflection.
this makeup would be her mask for the evening, the only way she could bear sitting with her family for the next few hours.
“Shea! Simon is here!” Her mother called up the stairs, Shea mumbled a curse word under her breath which was far less ladylike than she should have been.
Shea got up, and walked down her staircase as slowly as she could without being noticed. That was before a stair creaked, revealing her presence. Her family and Simon turned around, her mother gasping in horror seeing how low the dress was truly cut. Her father looked away. “Isn’t that a little too much for a family dinner?” He asked. “I happen to like it,” Shea smirked playing with the ends of her hair. Simon gulped before responding. “I suppose if you like it we can’t do anything,” he said, disappointment laced in his voice.
which Shea honestly didn’t give two shits about.
The ‘family’ sat at the table and began to talk, Shea could already feel herself drifting out of that conversation, it hadn’t even been half an hour yet.
Shea had never been so bored by a set of human beings. She was envious of her brother, she knew he would never have to feel the way she did, he would get to choose his partner, a luxury Shea knew she would never have.
“Did you here about those disgusting criminals causing havoc in our streets again?” Simon asked after placing down his fork. Shea’s father nodded. “Thank heavens our daughter would never consider doing anything like that,” her father said as all eyes drew to Shea. She just nodded as her mother patted her back, slightly harder than necessary.
Hours past as Shea slipped back into her own mind, her parents were still talking with Simon, about topics they knew nothing about. She couldn’t take it anymore, she was being tortured by this prejudice her family had against anyone who wasn’t considered ‘normal’.
“Please May I be excused I don’t feel well,” Shea said holding her stomach, knowing this would most likely get her out of that awful dinner. Her mother looked her over. “You’re excused,” she said slightly coldly as Shea got up and virtually ran out of the room.
Shea heard mumbling as she left but she didn’t care, she knew if she spent another moment their she would have ended up even more furious than she already was.
She changed out of her dress into her nightgown and slipped into her dressing gown. She moved her hair behind her ears and went out onto her balcony, where she was shocked to see the events happening just outside of her window.
There was a woman, someone Shea had never seen before standing underneath a lamppost looking around before running even quicker into an alleyway. After her she saw a few officers run right past where the girl was hiding.
Shea observed this and began to feel an excitement she had never experienced, she wished she was with the woman, escaping whatever dangers she had been placed in.
Shea was still on the balcony when the woman came back into the light, Shea certainly wouldn’t be forgetting her soon.
The woman turned around with a smirk on her face. She winked at Shea, and Shea felt herself blush almost immediately as the woman ran off back into the night.
One specific feature running through Shea’s mind.
Her curly red hair.

Hello there~Well here I am! Just finished reading this absolutely brilliant fic The Creator in 3 maybe 4 days and they were days that filled with a mix of emotions and a lot of tears. And yes I've got like a truck load of things I wanna write down about this fic. Buckle up and here they come. :p
* I'll start with our lovely couples in this fic. >v<
For Markus and Simon, I must say these two are just so cute and sweet despite all those angst scenes of them. Their relationship reminds me of the relationship between soulmates and they indeed have that love and trust toward each other. It's so natural to regard them both as one like if Markus is mentioned then Simon has got to be there by his side. Even though Simon didn't really stand by Markus's side when it came to the climax of this story, he still could be found in Markus's mind, which, I think, had already stressed their deep and close affinity. Their interaction is something really sweet and soft to read. Like the one that Simon brought suits to Markus and the latter basically teased Simon while the former, despite trying to act like a professional assistant / secretary, was blushed because of Markus. I find these kinds of details highly adorable! I also love (though maybe a little bit hurt to read) that they always worry about each other instead of worrying themselves and this emotion in some way supports them going through all those hard times. Markus would think of Simon and tried to be brave and strong for him when he was at the edge of breakdown, while Simon had already had a great amount of courage to be just even exist considering that he had always carried that terrible virus inside him and the dread that he may be taken away from people he loved and cared, not to mention that he had always been Markus' side and comforted him when things went badly. Compared to kamcon, the relationship between Simon and Markus is rather open and easy to read. Although Simon didn't tell his past to Markus at the beginning, he still was a very devoted lover who was always willing to support Markus and fight to the very end while Markus always loved and cared about him even willing to give his own life for Simon. They're just perfect for each other!
For Elijah and Connor, their relationship is truly touching and powerful! It was really a slow-built relationship in which Connor was uncertain and even terrified by his feelings toward the creator while Elijah was so ambiguous and hard to guess. I was really trilled and happy to read that Connor decided to express what he had been thinking and all his love to Elijah yet Elijah seemed not that excited to accept his love. I thought he was just a reserved person who won't show his emotional fluctuation. It was hurtful to read that he and Connor once had already been together and it didn't end well( maybe tragic is a more accurate word). It really brought me into tears while reading the part that Elijah told what happened between him and Connor in the past in front of all those people. And I've found a strong emotional resonance in a song called Feel Something by Adam Lambert, which I think can't be more suitable for this relationship between Elijah and Connor. One had been waiting lonely for years and the other just sought and self-struggled so many times. It was beyond happy for me to read that they finally found each other and stood side by side after all those suffering. The fact that Connor couldn't forget Elijah even after being reset was a true testimony of their unbreakable love and this love shocked me to my very core while reading it.
And I think simarkus and kamcon in this fic have something in common, which is their way of acting when dangers come. They always put their partners' safety first and would self-sacrifice for their lovers. It can be hurtful yet still really touching to read. While their interactions are different, certain similarities can be found in their deep and strong love toward each other.
* About characters
Markus: He's still this leader figure who are strong, firm and determined. He would get lost sometimes and grow self-doubt kind of emotion about himself, but he always chooses to confront them instead of escaping from them. Markus always puts the well-being of Simon and his people as priority. It's good to learn that Markus wants to win the revolution and Androids' rights not only because he wants to fight for his people but also mostly because he wants to guarantee Simon's wishes of living peacefully, which makes him very human and real.
Simon: awww he's such a cinnamon roll! Simon is such a strong and caring soul, and he always gives me the impression of peace and hidden passion. He's shy but he won't hide his feelings and love toward Markus. He's emotional but he has the hidden firmness that is strong enough to overcome any obstacles. And the part where Simon got angry and snapped in front of everyone really startled me a little bit during my reading. The rage of a kind man can be really frightening. :p
Connor: He's a cutie pie who always has something bothering him and very easy to take all the blame on himself even though it's really not his fault. He's loyal, devoted and brave even maybe a little bit reckless (especially when it comes to something involving Elijah). He's always seeking his true self and his feelings and emotions toward Elijah and other people. And he can be the life saver just on the right time like he showed up in the Stratford Tower just in time to save Markus(this also reminds me of how he showed up and saved both Simon and Markus at the end of your another fic wait for it >v<).
Elijah: Elijah in this fic is almost like what I've imagined he should be. He's brilliantly smart and clever, and he's really quick on thinking like when they went to Stratford tower and Markus couldn't decide how to deal with those two RK-900, Elijah gave his quick and logical thought. And he can be a helpless romantic even a little bit of a dork when it comes to love and relationship. Elijah loves his creation and has a strong sense of responsibility for them, which I think is admirable. Plus he would blush when talking about Connor and their relationship, that makes him a cutie too.>v<
Chloe: OMG just the mention of her name makes me wanna cry! There's actually not too many words about her in the fic except her action of shooting Elijah and her suicide(I tend to use this word because I really regard her as a conscious human being) yet she leaves this strong and clear impression of her deep and unconditional love for Elijah. I haven't really had any strong feelings toward her in the game, but I really REALLY grow to love her after reading this fic. That's something new and great (though heartbroken) for me to discover by reading your fic. Even though her death is so devastating for me to read, I'm still grateful for you to depict this character in such an amazing way. TvT
Jason: oh dear here come my tears. At first I've thought he maybe the mastermind behind all those evil plots and just pretended to be awkward and timid like Moriaty in BBC Sherlock. I hadn't fully trusted him until he died in Elijah's arms and that made me so so so sad (and his final kiss with Elijah ahhhh T_T)! At that point I felt so guilty and shameful for not trusting him and judging him based on some unreasonable bias. And the revealing of his deep and unchangeable love for Elijah made me cry like hell. T_T And thanks to him for creating Fortune who basically saved our main characters family and the world, he's really a nice and warm guy. Even though I ship kamcon, I still have this little hope that Elijah could have this tiny place in his heart to remember Jason and all the sacrifice he has done for Elijah. It isn't necessarily in any romantic way but in a way of remembering a dearest friend.
Fortune: I've thought he's like that evil AI the Samaritan in Person of Interest at first but he turns out to be another cutie pie.>v< It's really a lovely part to read that the fragment Fortune has already been disturbed by all those emotions and feelings that he cannot really understand. It's really something new and fascinating to think about as could AI go deviant like Androids? Also he has helped the main characters family a lot and his sacrifice at the end is truly a powerful and touching part to read. It's indeed a relief and joy to read that Elijah has prepared him a backup code and then has created him a new and suitable hosting body.
Philip Seymore: aha this villain! He’s a sad and pathetic man who are destroyed by hatred and his traumatic past. I hate him because he’s responsible for Jason’s death and all those horrible things he’s done to main characters and other innocent Androids and human. While I still pity him. Judging by his military experience, I think he once was a man who had faith and purposes that was worth him fighting for(mainly for his wife and daughter I think). He actually had already gone mad when his family was killed. The rage of losing someone whom he held dearest had blinded him from seeing things clearly. It might be reasonable to purge all the evil in the world yet there are two points in this issue that he failed to understand. One is that all the evil and bad things in this world, in some way, cannot be completely eliminated. It, along with righteousness, has to reach some kind of delicate balance. Another point is that it has already become a crime when purging evil at all costs without even caring how many lives have suffered and been wasted. I’m quite satisfied with his end tbh. Despite that he’s committed those unforgivable crimes and I really want to see him rotten in jail, this end in fic is actually well written. He had lost all his sanity and faith before he died. Everything crumbled in front of him and his heart was indeed dead. It seems that he’s got off easily yet I think he had been suffering all those years and died in vain. He really deserves such an end.
North: uhhhhh North... I really don’t care about this character tbh (sorry North) yet I don’t hate her. The kiss she shared with Markus at the end of peace line in the game is kind of cliche. And I totally agree with your opinions about North that this character is wasted. I actually want to see an independent and strong female figure who can reinvent herself in Jericho after escaping from her horrible past. I kind of don’t like her being so attached to Markus and even insulting Simon because she thought Simon “stole away” Markus. I was quite relieved when I read that she kind of decided to move on from Markus and embrace her new life though she was still so angry. I have to admit that I’m kind of numb about her death. I want to see her to find her true self and stop being that angry and maybe find her own happiness and peace. I think you’ve already granted her many of it except a happy ending. As a shipper of Simarkus, that’s all I want to talk about this character.
As for other characters:
Hank: Hank our dear Hank! He’s such a grumpy and cute old man. He can be harsh on words but soft in heart. I always regard him as a father figure and a good friend to Connor. And his interaction with Elijah always cracks me up. Yeah he’s adorable~~
Gavin and Allen: Correct me if I’m wrong but I kind of feel some gay vibe between these two in the fic. →v→ Gavin is still an asshole but really a good police officer. And Captain Allen also is a devoted SWAT police. What they’ve said before leaving Cyberlife facility for their duty (they would fight till the last for they’re police and it’s their job to protect people) is truly touching. And the way Allen interacts with Ethan really warms my heart.
Ethan: He’s an angel sent by God to Simon and Markus right? I really really want to see some kid fic / family fluff about this lovely family!! It truly warms my heart. >v<
*List some of my favourite parts of this fic (or some awesome and making-me-wanna-scream parts). It’s actually more than what I’ve listed but these parts are the most impressive ones.
· Connor saved Elijah from Chloe’ s shooting. This is basically the very first tense part of this fic. I’ve already knew something would happen to Elijah because of the summary but I’ve never expected it to be so intense and amazing! When I read that “Elijah’s heart stopped.” I was like “omg now I’m feeling my heart is stopped!” It’s intense and brilliant and I love it! So I will catalog this one to the most intense part of this fic.
· Chloe’ s suicide. It hurts. It’s intense but also very sad. I was like “oh no no no no no somebody do something stop her omg Elijah just fix her”when I read the part she decided to die in order to protect Elijah. I really couldn’t accept that Chloe is dead along with the other two. It’s the most painful part to read in this fic. T_T
· The Cyberlife Gala. I didn’t really sense anything wrong when I read that they decided to attend this Gala. So it came as a shock when I read that someone shot Connor, Jason and even Simon!(omg you don’t know how astounded I was I was so afraid that Simon would die). The part where Jason died in Elijah’s arms after a final kiss is indeed a strong emotional impact. Besides the shooting, I find the part where Elijah danced with Connor is also a nice one to read. I felt so much when I read this part so I think this is a part that holds the most mix feelings of mine.
· Connor and Elijah sneaked into that secret Cyberlife facility looking for Fortune’s code. I had a very bad feeling when I read that Connor and Elijah lied to each other in their promises. My mind was full of “oh no this is not a good sign something would definitely go wrong and these two what are they doing lying to each other it’s too intense I can’t take it!” This part can be intense even stressful to read. I felt so relieved when they all got out despite a few injuries. Nothing really bad happened and I just thought too much before. So this part clearly becomes the most stressful part in this fic.
· Simon was forced to leave Markus in the forest on their way to Washington. I cried so hard in reading this part. It was intense when they escaped from their crashed car(the moment reminded me of Simon’ s last car accident uhhhh) and then it was so heartbreaking that Markus had to decide to make Simon and Ethan run away without him. I actually couldn’t remember how I really feel about this part because I just cried so hard. :p This part stole so much of my tears but I still love it. TvT
· The part from Markus’ s capture to the death of Seymore. Those chapters are the climax of this fic and they’re really thrilling, intense, brilliant and amazing to read! Markus broke the code that controlled him and Connor got away from Cyberlife’ s manipulation. Their fight in Stratford Tower with Seymore and RK-900 (nice exploration of a deviant RK-900!). I almost got this feeling of watching an action movie during my reading. They’re really great! So I think this can be the most splendid part of this fic.
· Simon and Markus’ s wedding. OMG OMG OMG the wedding!! THEIR WEDDING!!! I actually got quite confused when I started reading this chapter and I almost screamed and jumped when I read that Simon was in an all-white suit and something about an aisle!! My eyes had already filled with tears when I read that they were exchanging vows and rings. Too many tears that I couldn’t read properly (Call me a cry baby but I just couldn’t control it). The wedding is SO sweet, lovely and warm to read. I think I must be overjoyed about this part. I think this wedding part is the most beautiful part of this fic and I love it so much!!!
*About the sequel
Please please please do a sequel! I’ve read your A/N and I’m wholeheartedly looking forward this sequel. I just really want to read something about the sweet and warm family life of Simon, Markus and Ethan also the love stories and maybe the wedding of Connor and Elijah!! But I’ll be more than happy to read whatever you decide to write in the sequel. >v<
*OK this is fangirl time >v<
Here is a special part that I want to express my love to you and your works. Thank you for creating so many brilliant works! I really love the way you write your fics. You depict the most touching and wonderful stories with brilliantly arranged plots and simple yet powerful words.
I also want to say something about shipping kamcon. I didn’t really ship this when I first discovered your fic Wait For It on AO3 after a random Simarkus’ tag search. It stirred my curiosity though. I was attracted to this couple after I read your fic A Mutually Beneficial Agreement, which, by the way, is also an amazing fic. And now I’m a complete shipper of Kamcon thanks to your wonderful fics! I feel so lucky that I didn’t miss this wonderful pairs. Thanks for showing me how great and sweet they are! >v<
So that’s almost everything that I feel and think about your story The Creator after reading it. Sorry it gets so long and maybe full of grammar errors. :p Thanks for your reading and also thanks for your replies to my AO3 comments and my Twitter. <3333333333

Only If you want, but since the show ended, would you mind sharing your story on how you started watching Soy Luna, what were your thoughts, how you got into the fandom and how are you feeling right now? ♥
i am feeling emotional so here comes my longass story
1. how did i get into it?I am sure i saw first time Soy luna super long ago, it had to be probably when the first season was literally just started airing in poland and i by accident came across it at disney channel. I havent watched Violetta cause i founded it as some new trash, a disgrace for our old childhood classics and when i saw now dc got some pathetic Violetta wannabe oh god i was so hating on it. I saw like few minutes of first open and my only reaction where, why these two guys are attracted to some underage, why are they even here (i meant of course luna and nina) and also the fact they were singing in spanish totally killed me. So then I realized there was something like Soy luna going on.Last year i was with my friends on vacations and we got super horrible weather and me and one of my friends were watching some random clips from old disney channel shows and then i said „omg misia, we need to check this trash that they currently air”. So we turned s01e55 i think? it was Ambars birthsday. And we were so freaking lost, like gastina and lutteo happening wtf, so we were bored and decided turn on first episode. It was so cringy. Oh god we were so laughing at the first ones and especially Simon and his valiente without words only na na na XDDD But suddenly it came first open and when we saw Mambars performance, we were dead, ultimately dead and in love. To cut story short, everyone started to hate us cause w started to marathoning it like crazy. Together we watched most of s01 and it was so beautiful.
2. how did i got into fandom?i had a tumblr since many many years, and always loved reading fanfics. The first ones was I remember skygirls, and then from them i suddenly found akkars bitch and there are evidences of me sending my friend akkars fics with countless omggg read it. So i read the fics, then I ended s01, understood there is no s02 for me now (last year, i couldnt speak a fucking uno palabra en espanola), i got post show depression and went on holidays with my family. It was the time of ficweek 2 and i was soooo reading it. Then s02 part 2 started to air and i began to watch small clips of it in english. Barbara was the first one i talked to, then i got into fake SL accounts (that was the biggest fun of my life really) and thats how it went down and i suddenly founded myself one day in the middle of berlin with @ac-ars next to fucking pasquarelli
3. how am i feeling now?
i have literally no idea, watching the last part of sl3 was a mess, cause i was the whole time away. I watched the last ep and most Journey at the airport and only thanks to freaking one hour delay. However, I dont feel like this is the end. I think i always was here more for the memes, cast dramas, good music, fics and great people than for the plot itself. I truly cant wait for ruggeros album and chiaras ofc, i will be watching Bia (hehe or aileen) and cande still will stay here so hard not to trash self, so its a sad comma not a dot for me. (omg such metaphor)

Love, Simon Movie Review
Tumblr media
I had been looking forward to seeing Love, Simon for so long, that getting to see the advanced screening last night was all kinds of awesome. From the very beginning I noticed that the film really encapsulated the essence and tone of the book, even though it differed in many of the scenes. I love a good book to film adaptation, and Love, Simon worked brilliantly as a different version of Simon vs The Homo Sapiens Agenda. Love, Simon worked on every level–from the incredible acting, to the score and soundtrack that fit perfectly with each scene and simply enhanced the experience.
Yet, I was so excited and hyped for this movie that at times I felt like I was just on the outside looking in, noticing every little detail, that it hasn’t quite sunk in. I’m looking forward to a second viewing that should rectify that.
I loved that Love, Simon began with Simon introducing himself as well as his family and friends. Whilst the book could jump right into the action, the much more limited time frame of the film and ability to be inside Simon’s head means it wouldn’t work here. Similarly, although the emails could exist on their own amidst other chapters in the novel, I enjoyed how the film embraced the idea of Simon imagining who Blue was depending on who he thought it could be at the time. It truly allowed for the secret of Blue’s identity to be kept, whilst at the same time increasing the tension. Simon and Bram interacting properly from the very beginning and being quite good friends was a great addition, although I wish we had seen more of Bram throughout the rest of the movie. I also think it was unfortunate that the movie essentially ended once they got together, and we saw very little of them as a couple.
Love, Simon featured so many powerful performances, which included the response of Simon’s parents to his coming out. The movie did one better than the book with Emily’s (Jennifer Garner) speech to Simon, telling him that he can exhale now. In this moment, Simon’s struggles are fully recognised by his mother, and in the most beautiful manner accepts him for who he is. Just as importantly however, Simon’s dad is not only allowed to be emotional for all that he missed about his son, he also apologises for the micro-aggressions that Simon suffered due to his jokes. Simon’s family life perfectly exemplifies why even in the most ‘perfect’ family situation it can be difficult and uncomfortable to come out. Yet, this film also demonstrated the reality that there is no single coming out moment. It happens over and over again, not always on your own terms, and how much easier it can be to come out to those you haven’t known as long.
However, the single most powerful performance in Love, Simon has to be the moment in which Simon completely releases everything he is feeling towards Martin. Nick Robinson dazzles in this moment of absolute devastation for Simon. He is unapologetically enraged and resentful, disgusted and distraught. The single use of ‘fuck’ in the film highlights the absurdity of Martin’s pathetic apology. Most significantly, the narrative does not vilify Simon for his reaction, in fact it stands with him. This scene is so emotional, it is impossible not to feel for Simon and understand completely where he is coming from.
There were some great new characters that didn’t exist in the book, from the hilariously awkward principal who wore a pride pin immediately after Simon was outed, to the openly gay Ethan. Though we hear of gay and lesbian students in the novel, Simon doesn’t interact with them and we don’t get to witness their different experiences. Ethan demonstrates a totally different story and emphasises that a wide variety of experiences exist. I also loved how Mrs Albright immediately shuts down the homophobic students, and it’s a perfectly glorious example of what everyone hopes a teacher would do for them. But I think it’s also important to acknowledge that in this situation, Simon also stands up for himself.
Yet, it was difficult to sit through Simon’s friends ignoring him through all of this. I guess I found everything that happened in the book more palatable, and maybe that was the point, to truly emphasise the risk that Simon felt–that he might not be backed by his friends. Of course, I understand why they were upset, particularly Leah (and don’t get me started on how much I hate they made Leah be in love with Simon), but it was downright awful to sit through the three of them give Simon the cold shoulder as he was bullied, and leave him to deal with being outed at school on his own just because they were hurt by a few actions of his. Actions that he took because he was viciously blackmailed about his sexuality. It was especially difficult to stomach because we see no real apology from his friends. I missed the scenes in the book with Abby and Leah fiercely glaring at anyone that looked wrong at Simon, I missed other students defending him–such as when Taylor and Abby almost punch the two homophobes. Perhaps the film upped the scale of the blackmail to facilitate a situation in which Simon would feel completely alone after he was outed to increase the tension, but I must admit to preferring how the book handled it.
With Martin posting the screenshots of emails between Simon and Bram, the dynamic completely changed and caused a lot more tension and suspense. In this moment, Simon has to take a leap of faith to get their relationship back on track. The entire ferris wheel scene was absolutely gorgeous–from Bram showing up at the last minute to the shock and excitement of everyone watching, to the truly emotional and heartwarming moment when they are finally on the same page. What stood out to me most in this scene was how incredibly nervous Bram was that Simon wouldn’t want him, and Keiynan’s understated movements here precisely explain why it took Bram so long to come forward.
I wish that we got to see more of their relationship apart from them getting together (and of course that final scene at the end), which I think the book handled really well. And yes, maybe some of the aspects of this movie that I wasn’t a fan of might not have been a problem if I didn’t have the book to compare it to. But I also recognise that in Love, Simon we got a different version of Simon’s coming of age story and his budding relationship with Bram. Both versions give us something different, and I truly enjoyed a lot of the changes made in the movie.
I’m sad that it’s all over. But I’m definitely going to see Love, Simon again. And if you hadn’t planned on seeing it, I highly recommend that you do.
