HAPPY PRIDE, EVERYONE! 🏳️‍🌈 It’s June and that means, celebrating diversity even more visibly than usual and displaying your very own pride. So I thought about headcanoning my favourite polyamourous Digimon OT3 onto the canvas once more; with pansexual!Taichi and his two favourite redheads, bisexual!Sora and demisexual!Koushirou, loving each other very dearly. 🧡❤️💜
(Disclaimer, they’re wearing the polysexual flag instead of the polyamourous flag - and loving and being with several genders is just as wonderful. #BiPanPolySolidarity)

MIMATO WEEK 2022 (DAY 5) - “MAID CAFE”
Read Deal with the Devil at FFN/AO3
Summary: All Yamato wants is to join his university's newspaper club but the obstacle standing in his way is Editor-in-chief, Mimi Tachikawa. Can he strike a deal that she just won't be able to refuse? [College AU]
“So? Use it. Why do I have to get involved?”
“I can’t go to a maid cafe Yama, I have a girlfriend.” Taichi responded indignantly, stressing the last word a little more than was needed.
Everyone knew he had a girlfriend, he had made sure of that when they had started dating by taking a megaphone and announcing it wherever he went. That had been a tough week for anyone who was associated with the brunet.
“Sounds like a you problem.” Yamato scoffed, he raised his laptop screen again, ready to put this conversation behind him and shoo Taichi away.
“No, you owe me.”
“I don’t owe you shit. I paid for your dinner yesterday, you owe me.”
“Your whole family owes me for emotional damage worth years since your brother decided to come out as gay and break my sister’s heart.”
“We don’t owe you anything for the fact that your sister was just that blind.”
“Hey, don’t you dare badmouth Hikari-”
“Don’t you dare bring Takeru into this.”

Draw Me Closer
Characters: Yamato x Taichi (w/ Mimi, best supporting actress <3)
Summary: A club with bright lights and a flashy theme. Butterflies, idols, and dance pop. Yamato was suckered into setting foot in this scene, but whether he realized it or not, he knew there was only one reason to be drawn to it.
Notes: Dedicated to @pan-kuzu. This art. And this song. I was compelled.
Hope y'all enjoy this li'l slice of Taiyama~ <3
Once again, Yamato found himself in a place he least expected to be in on a Saturday night. He stepped into the lobby in his black button up shirt and dark jeans and observed nothing out of the ordinary from the staff and other guests, though he was mentally prepared for whatever it was that would come next.
It came to him as no surprise when he turned toward Mimi when she called for him. Her outfit was simple, a light spaghetti strapped tank top and a mini skirt and she let her long, wavy tresses flow down. The only thing added was a pair of white embroidered gloves on her hands that were cut to reveal her fingers. When she twirled in excitement and gave him a big smile, Yamato couldn’t help but be reminded of a spritely fairy. If only Mimi had a headband and a pair of wings.
Except the wings in this case were attached behind the ears of the headphones. Mimi held two of them on her wrist, and a pair of black fingerless gloves in her other hand.
Yamato blinked at her, reluctant. What in the world did she talk him into this time? How silly was he going to look in this get up?
The staff called to them, signaling that the event was about to begin. Mimi glared at Yamato now, holding out her hands towards him. In the pressure of the moment, Yamato grabbed his pairs of headphones and gloves and put them on, then followed quickly behind Mimi as they went through the doors and into the darkened room.
Lights of blue, purple, and pink surrounded the room, where Yamato observed a large group of people wearing butterfly headphones of different colors and the same gloves on their hands. A young, female voice that he recognized announced her introduction as the night’s main performer and disc jockey through his headphones, and when he looked up towards the large screens elevated above he saw the virtual figure wearing her sleeveless collared top and mini skirt, her long twin tails of teal hanging on either side. The cheers from the crowd surrounded him as the music began to play.
So Mimi brought him to a Hatsune Miku-themed event. Yamato looked around for a few moments as he listened to the upbeat music in his ears and everyone around him began to dance, their butterfly headphones bobbing and waving around to the music. He had never been to a “silent disco” before, and he was intrigued at seeing dancing as they heard the same song in their ears.
Then, Miku gave a shout out to the dancers listening to the other station, to which there were less cheers. Curious, Yamato felt around the ear of his headphone to find a switch. When it clicked, a song of a different beat filled his ears along with the soaring sounds of an electric guitar. He dug this station already.
Mimi’s cheers were louder than the song in his headphones, and Yamato saw that she was dancing with Jou and Sora, whom he had expected to see, especially with Mimi’s talent to convince their circle of friends to go anywhere she asked. Yamato waved at the three of them and walked on, bobbing his head to the music. He also passed Koushiro who was sitting by himself, but Koushiro was paying no mind to anyone else as he listened to the music on his own.
When the next rock song began to play, Yamato recognized it and began to sing along. He continued to pass people by, scouring through the faces of the people dancing as a couple or in groups, hoping to find the face he was hoping to see. Yamato was surprised that this face had yet to show himself, especially when his hair was so easily spotted even in the densest crowd.
The music transitioned into a different song, though Yamato continued to sing. But the crowd of people seemed to part in front of him, and that was when his eyes caught onto a gaze of chocolate brown, his lips singing along to the same song.
Yamato stopped in his tracks, his lips parted in surprise. Taichi had stopped singing along, his expression appearing to match Yamato’s. Little did he know, Yamato found himself and Taichi making their way towards each other, and the flashing lights and surrounding people seemed to fade from view.
The butterfly earphones looked sillier on Taichi than Yamato thought they did on himself. Taichi even wore a disproportionately small top hat on the side of his head, which he admitted was not Mimi’s idea as Yamato had thought - Taichi thought it would fit the theme of the night.
Still, Taichi wore the black on blue shirt and jeans to complement. Taichi even wore a nice tie to go with it. The whole outfit worked too well. One of the things Yamato loved about Taichi was that he found a way to make himself look good even in offbeat situations, and Yamato found himself breathless.
When they stood face to face, eyes still locked on one another, Taichi smiled, singing to the lyrics sounding in Yamato’s ears. Yamato felt a chill on the back of his neck. That was another one of the things he loved about Taichi; aside from some pop songs that Yamato would kick him out of the room the moment he sang them, Taichi had the same taste in music as Yamato did, and he found it endearing to learn that Taichi sang along to a lot of the songs he did.
The more Taichi’s lips moved as he sang, the more Yamato yearned to be closer to him.
Yamato grabbed Taichi by the wrist and began to move for his new search. He waded his way through the sea of people with Taichi following closely behind, his eyes scanning for an ideal spot. In an area where the dancing crowd loosened, he spotted a place to go, and there he headed.
Turning a corner a few feet from the dance floor, Yamato found a small space where the strobing lights didn’t hit, away from the wandering eyes of his friends and from anyone else. He wasn’t in the mood to dance, anyway. It was a space for only him and Taichi, who stayed close behind Yamato the whole time. When Yamato turned around to face Taichi again, there was little space between him and the wall behind him. Taichi reached toward Yamato’s headphones and clicked the switch, changing the station back to Hatsune’s music. It was the type of music that Taichi annoyed Yamato to death with, but Yamato felt like he could tolerate this song, its pop beats with the piano playing the background. What was the song called? “Magnet”? Yamato didn’t want to bother with asking Taichi, not when their gazes remained fixed on each other.
Taichi wore a smirk this time, looking as though he knew exactly what Yamato wanted. Yamato moved closer, the rhythm of the bass and drums bumping in his ears, the beat of his heart pounding in his chest. He met Taichi’s fingers at the tips with one hand, and held Taichi’s chin with his thumb and forefinger of the other, their noses nearly touching.
Taichi had taught him not to frustrate himself with what drew them to each other. How they could clash in disagreements yet Yamato still wanted him around. How in one moment Yamato couldn’t stand him, but in the next he wanted to feel his touch. Yamato had learned to run with what he felt he wanted to do, and at that moment with the music swelling and feeling Taichi’s warm breath soft, Yamato closed his eyes and gently pressed his lips against Taichi.
Gawd, he loved those lips that kissed back. Those lips that kissed him so deliciously urging him to come back for more. Yamato kissed Taichi slowly, savoring the feeling of Taichi’s soft touch, his tongue brushing his own.
When Yamato let himself pull away, he only drew back to Taichi’s lips. Then, when he broke off the kiss, Taichi gave them only a few seconds to catch their breaths before he leaned in once again. They succumbed to each other, their arms wrapped around one another and holding each other tight with their bodies pressed together, like two magnets that were never meant to be apart.

Tsuzuru Minagi | [SR] Reminiscence of Blooming | Veludo Town Oshi Spot! ~Video: Tsuzuru~ - Part 1
Tumblr media
Taichi: Aagh, I’m so hungry. What’s for dinner today?
Tsuzuru: Yeah, Director’s the one in charge of it today so you can bet on it being curry.
Tsuzuru: Huh, Kinozaki-san?
Rento: Ooh, well if it ain’t Tsuzuru and Taichi. What’re you two up to?
Taichi: We’re on our way home from uni!
Tumblr media
Tsuzuru: What are you doing, Kinozaki-san?
Rento: I came here to get some of my favorite melon pan. There’s a place around here that I like.
Tsuzuru: Ah, are you talking about that “Bakery Theato” on the corner there?
Rento: Wait, you know about that place too, Tsuzuru!?
Tsuzuru: Yeah, Masumi buys curry bread there sometimes.
Rento: Ah, so it’s ‘cause of Masumi, huh? Well, I’ve bought things for Director-san from there before too.
Rento: Ah, I’d better get goin’. Later~.
*Footsteps*
Taichi: Rento-san sure ran off fast… He really wants that melon pan, huh?
Tsuzuru: He said that it’s his favorite, so that’s probably why. Anyway, let’s head home.
· • —– ٠ ✤ ٠ —– • ·
Tsuzuru: (I’m thirsty. I think I had something in the fridge from the other day…)
Tsuzuru: Ah, Director. Are you preparing dinner?
Izumi: Yeah, I am. Did you just get back, Tsuzuru? Welcome home.
Tsuzuru: I’m home.
Tsuzuru: (Just as I thought, looks like today’s dinner is curry.)
Izumi: Ah!
Tumblr media
Tsuzuru: Huh, what’s wrong?
Izumi: Actually, I have to call the theater company I’m helping out at, but I totally forgot about it.
Izumi: Things are a bit complicated, so I have to call them as soon as possible, but if I don’t skim off the scum now, the curry won’t be good…
Tsuzuru: Then leave skimming off the scum to me and go make your call.
Izumi: Huh, are you sure? You’ll really do that?
Tsuzuru: Of course.
Izumi: Thank you! Once the scum is removed, you can leave it to simmer on low heat.
Tsuzuru: Gotcha.
*Footsteps*
Tsuzuru: (Well, now that I’ve accepted the challenge, I’ve gotta do it right. The Director is very particular about how the curry is made…)
Masumi: Director.
Masumi: …You’re not her. What the hell, Tsuzuru? I thought the Director was in charge of dinner today…
Tsuzuru: Sorry for being me, I guess. Welcome home to you too, Masumi.
Masumi: I’m home. …Haah, I can’t even give her this curry bread.
Tsuzuru: Huh, that bag…! You went to “Bakery Theato” today too?
Masumi: Yeah.
Tsuzuru: You didn’t happen to run into Kinozaki-san there then, did you?
Masumi: Rento? I didn’t see him.
Tsuzuru: Ah, well, figures. Your schedules kinda conflict, so I guess that makes sense…
Masumi: What are you talking about?
Tsuzuru: It’s nothing. Anyway, you were looking for the Director because you got curry bread?
Masumi: Yeah. Where is she?
Tsuzuru: She went to her room for a work call just a bit ago. It seemed like it was gonna take a while, so I don’t think she’s finished yet.
Masumi: Okay.
Masumi: Right. Here… for you.
Tumblr media
Tsuzuru: Oh, thanks. Did you get some for everyone in Spring Troupe too?
Masumi: Well, I figured why not… besides, it’ll make them all happy.
Masumi: Well, I’m going to our room.
*Footsteps*
Tsuzuru: Huh… because it’ll make them all happy, huh? He really has grown.
· • —– ٠ ✤ ٠ —– • ·
Tsuzuru: (I’m kinda hungry now. Guess I’ll eat the curry bread Masumi gave me.)
Tsuzuru: …Awmph.
Tsuzuru: (“Theato’s” bread is delicious as always. I wonder if there would be a good place to do an introduction video on.)
*Door opens*
Homare: Oho, you seem to be eating something that seems quite delicious. Could that be curry bread?
Tsuzuru: It is. Masumi got it for me, but I like all the bread from that shop because it’s really good.
Tumblr media
Homare: I would love to try some too!
Tsuzuru: Well then, I’m going to film my introduction video at that bakery, so how about you eat some with me there?
Homare: Ooh, what a splendid idea! I look forward to it.

Here's a translation of the time Taichi tried to trade sushi to Desperado in exchange for photos of Desperado in panties.
The backstory: This all happened during May of 2020, while NJPW shows were shut down. Taichi did a livestream with Tam, which he only convinced her to do by promising to treat her to sushi.
Tumblr media
The conversation starts with Taichi saying that in the video, there's a moment where you can see Tam's panties. (Also he censors the word "panties")
Tumblr media
Despe:
What’s the timestamp?
Tumblr media
Taichi:
Don’t just skip to that part!
If you want to know the timestamp then pay me.
Tumblr media
Despe:
I have zero interest in the rest of this video!
Why should I have to watch a long video of you flirting with a girl!
And buy me sushi too!
Tumblr media
Taichi:
If you want sushi too, then show me your p*nties too!
If you send me a magnificent pan*y photo, I’ll consider it
Tumblr media
Despe:
A panty photo!?
Aren’t you being generous today!
Are you sure you didn’t mean to say an assh*le photo!?
OHHHKAY!
What’re we waiting for, let’s do this!
Tumblr media
Taichi:
*sshole photos huh… I’ve seen too many of those, I’m completely bored of them.
Hey, you said you’ll do it right? Don’t agree to this lightly okay?
Will you do it? Will you really do it?
Once you’ve said you’ll do this, you can’t go back on it. You understand?
So say it.
Will you show me a magnificent panty photo, the likes of which I’ve never seen before?
Well then, I can’t wait!
Tumblr media
Despe:
I’ll take the photo tomorrow afternoon!
Prepare the sushi!
Tumblr media
Tam (who they have been @ ing this entire time):
Please stop having this vulgar conversation in my mentions , ,
Tumblr media
Taichi:
wtf is vulgar about it
Anyway you’re the one who started this by flashing your panti*s on the livestream!
So go buy Pe some sushi
Tumblr media
Despe:
If I'm getting treated to sushi I don't care who's buying
but
who are you talking to?
-
Ohh sorry, I didn’t see your name there!
Panty-flashing girl
Tumblr media
Tam:
Please don’t call me panty-flashing girl 😡
It’s Tam.
And why do I have to treat you to anything? I haven’t even eaten mine yet!
I was in line before you, Pe-san!
_
The next day:
Tumblr media
Despe:
Why is a simple panty photo
And a selfie no less
So incredibly stressful to take…
Hey you in the next apartment, don’t look at me!
You may not know this but my panties have value (sushi)!
Do not report me! DO NOT!

9 people you’d like to get to know better!
tagged by @firstaudrina ♡
three ships: I ship so much and tbh, I rarely ever come out of a new piece of media without having found at least one romantic or sexual dynamic to be invested in. Right now I am very (!!) fixated on Armand/Louis from the Interview With The Vampire show. Jughead/Veronica from Riverdale have been on my mind all the time since 2018. Oh, and Jason Todd/Talia al Ghul from the Batman universe are the more polished version of everything I loved about Anakin and Padmé from the Star Wars prequels. (See what I did there? Snuck another ship into this because I'm a hedonist. But like, I'd keep those with me if I were stranded on a lonely island.)
first ship: The first ship I thought of before I knew what shipping was, was Wendy Darling and Tiger Lily from Peter Pan. I thought, both were too good for Peter. The first canon ship I was rooting for were probably Anakin and Padmé. The first non-canon ship I shipped as someone who understood what shipping was were either Harry/Cedric from the Harry Potter series or Taichi/Yamato from Digimon.
last song: "Neue Männer braucht das Land" by Ina Deter & Band. (I am not embarrassed I am not embarrassed I am not embarrassed)
last film: I rewatched Captain America: The Winter Soldier just for the backstabber with the cute sub bottom macho face. The latest not-rewatch was probably I Married A Witch (forever carrying a torch for Veronica Lake).
currently reading: Lost Souls by Poppy Z. Brite and the collected short stories of Clarice Lispector! Non-fiction: Confessions of the Flesh by Michel Foucault and Eros the Bittersweet by Anne Carson. (Not counting the grad school stuff, because that's just a bunch of papers.)
currently watching: Re-watching Queer as Folk and Supernatural. Also watching the new season of Loki and complaining about it a lot.
currently consuming: Afternoon coffee and Japanese curry leftovers from lunch!
currently craving: An apple with some peanutbutter!! (I'll probably have that for a responsible adult dinner.)
tagging: @whispering-imp, @maxwellshimbo, @dearlyfetching, @coolowt, @deanwinchesterpregnant, @misschinablue, @ghostlygun, @lesen-schreiben-bruchrechnen, @setsailslash and @esskuesli (no pressure though!)

7 Best Mackenyu Movies and TV Shows
Tumblr media
Since the release of One Piece live action series, Mackenyu's popularity has been soaring. His portrayal of Zoro in One Piece gained a massive following, mostly from women who just couldn't resist his charm.
Mackenyu himself has etched his name in the entertainment industry a long time ago. First appearing in Kamen Rider Drive: Surprise Drive, he was 17 years old when he debuted. Starting from small roles, his talent continued to spike interest from directors and producers.
Born as Mackenyu Maeda, his breakthrough role was the portrayal of Arata Wataya in the Chihayafuru trilogy. In fact, he loved the character so much that he decided to use Mackenyu Arata as his stage name.
As a son of the famous Japanese actor and martial artist, Sonny Chiba, it's no surprise that Mackenyu followed in his father's footsteps. Now, with over 40 credits in acting roles, Mackenyu continues to rise in his stardom.
Besides One Piece, there are a lot of Mackenyu movies and TV shows to get to know him better. Here are the recommendations!
1. Chihayafuru Trilogy
Tumblr media
Mackenyu's breakthrough role in the Chihayafuru Trilogy was what catapulted him into stardom. The trilogy is based on the manga series "Chihayafuru" by Yuki Suetsugu and follows the story of Chihaya Ayase, a young girl who becomes deeply involved in the competitive world of competitive karuta, a traditional Japanese card game.
In the trilogy, Mackenyu Arata played the role of Arata Wataya, a childhood friend of Chihaya and a skilled karuta player. His return to the town after some years of absence rekindles Chihaya's passion for karuta, and he becomes a central figure in her journey to become a competitive karuta player.
Arata's presence and influence serve as a driving force in the story, motivating Chihaya and her friends to form a karuta club and pursue their dreams of becoming champions. Arata also represents one of the love interests in the series, creating a love triangle with Chihaya and another main character, Taichi Mashima.
If you want to explore Mackenyu's other role beside One Piece, Chihayafuru Trilogy is a great way to start!
2. Over Drive
Tumblr media
Mackenyu portrayed the character Hiyama Naozumi in Over Drive. Naozumi, the wild and unpredictable Supika Racing Factory hotshot, is no stranger to chaos. Despite his troublesome nature, he possesses exceptional driving skills and aspires to advance to the World Rally Championship.
Towards the end of the film, Naozumi undergoes a remarkable transformation and becomes more focused on his goals in rally racing. This journey takes him from lone wolf to a team player, from troublemaker to disciplined driver. Mackenyuy's portrayal brings Naozumi's passionate evolution to life, promising an engaging and impactful character arc that's worth watching.
3. Pacific Rim: Uprising
Tumblr media
In the epic "Pacific Rim: Uprising," Mackenyu Arata takes on the role of Ryoichi Hatayama. Although not the central character, Hatayama's role as a Pan Pacific Defense Corps cadet and co-pilot of the formidable Jaeger, Saber Athena, adds depth to the storyline.
Even as a supporting role, Hatayama stands alongside lead characters, like Jake Pentecost (played by John Boyega), and takes on a vital part in the thrilling battles against the Kaiju monsters.
While not in the spotlight, Mackenyu's appearance in this international blockbuster allows him to showcase his acting skills. His performance enriches the action and the overall dynamic of Pacific Rim: Uprising.
4. Our 30 Minute Sessions
Tumblr media
Expanding his role, Mackenyu portrayed a musician in Our 30-Minute Sessions (サヨナラまでの30分). His character, Aki Miyata, a musician who passed away one year before the events of the film. Despite his untimely death, his bright and positive personality continues to influence the lives of those who knew him.
On the other hand, a character named Sota discovers a mysterious tape recorder which allows him to listen to Aki's voice from the past for 30 minutes. During this time, Aki takes over Sota's body, leading him to meet his former girlfriend.
As the plot unfolds, Sota not only learns more about Aki's life and struggles but also undergoes personal growth and self-discovery. The story delves into themes of friendship, grief, and the healing power of communication and connection, even beyond death.
5. Peach Girl
Tumblr media
In the 2017 Japanese romantic comedy-drama "Peach Girl," inspired by Miwa Ueda's beloved manga series, Mackenyu Arata takes on the role of Kazuya Tojigamori. This story revolves around the intricate romantic and dramatic journey of the central character, Momo Adachi.
Kazuya, one of Momo's dearest friends and a fellow classmate, embodies kindness, care, and unwavering support. He's a character marked by unrequited love for Momo, a sentiment that sparks emotional conflicts and intense drama. As Kazuya grapples with these feelings, the movie explores the complexities of friendship and love.
6. Knights of the Zodiac
Tumblr media
Enter the fantastical world of "Knights of the Zodiac," where Mackenyu steps into the role of Seiya. In this cinematic take on the beloved "Saint Seiya" franchise, created by Masami Kurumada, adventure and destiny collide.
Seiya, a street-smart orphan, embarks on a perilous odyssey to rescue his kidnapped sister, Patricia. His journey tests his mettle as he confronts formidable challenges. His fate becomes intertwined with the legendary Knights of the Zodiac, warriors chosen to safeguard the goddess Athena's reincarnation.
Mackenyu's portrayal is more than a mere performance. It's a journey through Seiya's determination, a tour of his emotional evolution from ordinary to hero. He weaves his essence into the action and drama, crafting a Seiya that captivates and immerses us in the "Saint Seiya" universe.
7. JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Diamond Is Unbreakable - Chapter 1
Tumblr media
Perhaps Mackenyu's most peculiar acting role, "JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Diamond Is Unbreakable - Chapter 1" saw Mackenyu Arata taking on the character of Okuyasu Nijimura. This film is based on the Diamond Is Unbreakable story arc of the popular manga and anime series "JoJo's Bizarre Adventure" by Hirohiko Araki.
Okuyasu Nijimura possesses a Stand, a supernatural ability that grants him unique powers. His Stand is known as "The Hand," and it wields the extraordinary power to erase or scrape away anything it touches with his right hand. Initially introduced as a member of a group with antagonistic motives, Okuyasu's character undergoes a transformation as the narrative unfolds.
Looking into his diverse acting role, it seems like Mackenyu doesn't plan on stopping any time soon. His career will continue to evolve, and with his legendary portrayal of Zoro, more directors and producers may see the potential he has.
Finally, some of Mackeyu's movies are available to stream online on Apple TV, such as "Knights of the Zodiac" and "JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Diamond Is Unbreakable - Chapter 1". To watch them, you'll need a paid subscription available through Apple TV.
And here's a tip to make it even more convenient: purchase your subscription using iTunes gift cards from OffGamers.com. With over 200 payment methods, secure transactions, and global accessibility, OffGamers.com makes getting your hands on those iTunes gift cards a breeze.
So, prepare to journey into the mesmerizing world of Seiya and Jojo, right from your screen!

@digiweek 2022 day 3: recess (humor) tell us anything funny about digimon (funny scenes, funny moments, funny memories).
as told in this gif post, one of the funniest memories of mine pertaining to digimon was when i tried to recreate taichi's omurice from episode 21.
bear in mind that i was somewhere in grade school and not really that interested in cooking, but damn the omelette rice that taichi made looked so scrumptious that i just had to. also, in my house, we always made that thin, crepe-like omelette that has brown bits and crispy edges as we always cooked them well-done. that's why taichi's soft and fluffy-looking omelette looked very beautiful.
i replayed this particular episode on my vcd player and paused right at the moment when taichi cracked some eggs. i counted each yolk on the bowl and there were 8 of them. eight. my brain stopped working properly all of a sudden somehow and concluded that to make 1 portion of such a fluffy omelette, i needed 8 eggs.
yep, i forgot taichi was cooking for 3 portions (himself, koromon, and hikari).
my household did not have a non-sticky pan back then. the smallest utensil that we had was an ugly wok with heavy chars on its bottom due to the frequent use, inherited from my late grandmother. so i used it.
and as i had 0 knowledge of cooking, in addition that i could not flip my eggs mid-air like taichi did, the result was... another crepe-like omelette with such a big diameter because of the fact that it contained 8 frickin' eggs. i remembered transferring them to my usual plate and it was too small for the omelette!
when my mother came home from work, she got very angry after finding the egg tray was almost empty. we had this unspoken rule of only using 1 egg per person per day because we were required to be thrifty, so... yeah, i ended up getting scolded lol.
now that i like to spend my spare time cooking in the kitchen, omurice becomes one of the dishes i love to make for my brother and myself. i often experiment with different types of fried rice and sauce to accompany the omelette, and of course i did try various techniques to cook the omelette! but nope, i cannot do that kichi-kichi style omelette—it's too hard for me. maybe someday.
considering that the prompt for day 3 is also recess, i figured other than sharing a humorous story of mine, i can also share the recipe for this dish, which i called the magnificent onemurice as a play on taichi name meaning. if you need a visual step-by-step, this video is a great one and very easy to follow for beginners. and yes, i remembered taichi also served potesara (potato salad) along with the omurice, so i also drop the recipe. it's a nice, simple side-dish.
