Somehow they find themselves painting an old pair of shoes Taehyung had been meaning to get rid of one afternoon.
Namjoon had grabbed the shoebox from his hands when Taehyung had shared his initial plans and scoffed, offering to paint them instead. Taehyung, at the time, hadn't really cared about what Namjoon thought painting the old shoes would do to change his mind but Taehyung had agreed anyway.
Now they both hold one shoe in their hands, brushing paint strokes across the mostly white surface. Namjoon is humming, feet kicking in the air as he lays on his stomach. Taehyung is on his side, one leg stretched out along the floor while the other is bent at the knee. His lower back is starting to cramp but he's much too focused on the image he is trying to create to care about his barely-there pain.
"What are you making?" Namjoon stops his humming to ask.
Taehyung frowns for just a moment, trying to remember before shrugging and continuing with what he was already doing. "I totally forgot. How about you, hyung?"
His boyfriend shakes his head at him and laughs. "I was trying to make a sunset but I think it looks more like a turtle."
"Huh," Taehyung huffs as he leans over to look at Namjoon's progress. "I don't know. Kind of looks like a seashell too."
"What if I made a seashell turtle?" Namjoon asks.
Taehyung laughs and nods, returning to his previous position. "That would be cool to look at on a pair of shoes."
Namjoon smiles and returns to his painting. Taehyung does the same, joining the elder when he begins humming again.
The tune warps and they end up creating a melody of their very own in the end, but Taehyung's certain neither of them actually mind.

double the trouble

summary: Taehee and Namjoo are ready to get married. Yoonji and Seokjin see to it that the two like-minded individuals mean it.
Tumblr media
Taehee doesn't usually think about this often, but Namjoo really is the most wonderful person to ever walk into her life.
To think there was a time where she actually believed that she might be into men is actually pretty laughable when you think about how gayly in love she is with Namjoo, her girlfriend of four years. Of course, Yoonji, Taehee's cousin, likes bringing up that particular phase often, but Taehee never lets it get to her.
Namjoo is the only person Taehee wants to spend the rest of her life with. It's a known fact that she's very much in love and it's also a known fact that Taehee while being able to live without Namjoo if she had to, would never willingly choose to lead a life where Namjoo isn't somehow involved with her.
Their apartment is small and they did manage to graduate early from uni, but Taehee's art degree doesn't really roll in the bank. Namjoo gets paid decently with her editing job, but it's not a groundbreaking amount of money either.
Taehee wants to be able to splurge on the one thing she's always wanted to get for Namjoo: a ring.
But not just any ring. Taehee wants to buy the most beautiful ring on this planet, she wants Namjoo to proudly show off her ring as she tells the entire world about the breathtaking manner in which Taehee proposed to her.
An engagement ring. It's all Taehee wants to get. Definitely not something she absolutely needs, but she does want to show Namjoo how she's willing to pay an arm and a leg just to give Namjoo the nice things that Taehee thinks she deserves.
Taehee loves Namjoo. There's no doubt about that.
Tumblr media
Namjoo likes playing it safe. But Taehee, she's far from the type of person most people would expect Namjoo to be with.
And Namjoo doesn't mind that fact because she's very happy with Taehee and she's very happy being in love with Taehee as well.
What others have to say about their relationship doesn't matter one bit to her.
Even if Seokjin likes to yap her ear off with his gossip and talk of his job as a camboy while somehow still bringing up the fact that Namjoo and Taehee's relationship is unexpected, Namjoo still doesn't care for what others may say.
Anyways, it's not like it was Namjoo's fault when Seokjin introduced her to his girlfriend, Yoonji, who then introduced her to her cousin, Taehee. If anything, it's Seokjin's fault and Namjoo, while sometimes irritated with her childhood friend, is really grateful for that fact as well.
Being with Taehee for four years has changed Namjoo a lot. She no longer remains soft-spoken and she always makes a point of saying what she needs to say in the moment. Of course, Taehee has changed as well and Namjoo isn't afraid of coming home to find Taehee surrounded by thirty stray dogs anymore. The fact is that Namjoo loves Taehee. She loves her enough to give her what she knows Taehee wants above all else.
To get married.
Namjoo has never really agreed with the basis of marriage to begin with and she knows that Taehee would never hold this over her head, but if this is something that'll make her girlfriend happy, then Namjoo will do it. For her. For her love for Taehee that will always mean more than a piece of paper that gives them a bounty of tax benefits.
She's ready to take that step only because she'll be taking it with Taehee, her true soulmate, partner, and lover.
Tumblr media
"Namjoo won't probably like something flashy, Tae," Seokjin murmurs beside her as she peruses through ring display cases.
"Oh, yeah? How are you so sure about that?" Taehee asks, squinting as she hovers over a ring with four diamonds centered around the diamond in the middle.
Seokjin scoffs beside her, running a hand through his hair as he leans over the case beside Taehee. "I don't know. You're the one who begged me to come and help you pick a ring out for Namjoo. So you tell me."
Taehee groans, dropping her head on the display case. "Ugh! I hate it when you use my own actions against me."
"It's not my fault you're so erratic-brained."
"Yeah, well it could be! How do I know you're not some mad scientist who's messing with my brain every time we meet up?"
Seokjin laughs, the windshield wiper sound making Taehee wince as she stands upright once more. "I'm no mad scientist. Just a simple camboy that makes a lot of bank, thank you very much. Science was my worst subject back in school."
Taehee laughs humorlessly, shaking her head while she moves on to the next display case. "Yes, I know. You never fail to remind me of your profession."
"It's habit by this point," Seokjin replies with a shrug. "Anyway, I think Namjoo will like something simple. You're looking at rings that are too flashy for Namjoo's tastes. It's like you're looking for a ring for yourself."
"I want to get something that the both of us will like. I mean, I want Namjoo to know that when she wears the ring, it's really going to be us she's saying yes to. I want her to want that just as much as I do," Taehee says, peering at another ring before moving on to the next display case. "Oh!"
Seokjin looks over her shoulder and searches the rings set out, looking for the one that made Taehee pause. He finds it eventually, eyes lighting up with quiet joy at the simplistic but extravagant beauty of it all. Even if Taehee hasn't pointed it out yet, Seokjin knows that this is the ring.
One diamond in the center, not too big or too small, surrounded by tiny rubies and a thick gold band to support it. The option to engrave the band is really what pulls it all together. And it's not too expensive either. Taehee and Namjoo could very well afford two of these rings.
And Seokjin snaps a photo of it as quick as lightning, sending it to Yoonji before he slips his phone back into his pocket and waits for Taehee to finally speak.
"That one," Taehee whispers, her eyes blown wide in wonder. "That's the one."
Her index finger is pointed right at the ring that Seokjin knew had blown her mind away and Seokjin hums a positive, smiling wide. Taehee doesn't say anything more, just continues to stare and Seokjin takes this opportunity to find a salesperson and ask them if they have another ring exactly like it.
Tumblr media
"It's ugly, Namjoo," Yoonji says with a roll of her eyes, looking bored out of her mind while Namjoo carefully leans over a glass display of rings later that day.
"I think it's cute," Namjoo mumbles, her lips pursed into a pout that Yoonji can definitely see Taehee squealing over.
"Yes, and while Taehee would love anything that you wanted to give her, trust me when I say that this ring looks like it's for you instead of her."
Namjoo's pout only grows then and Yoonji knows she should probably tone it down a little, but this is how she's always been like and Namjoo should be used to that already. So Yoonji sighs instead and nudges Namjoo along to the next display case, doing her best to not make it seem so harsh. Namjoo goes reluctantly, unsure whether to take Yoonji's blunt words to heart or not.
"So, are you trying to get a ring that you like or are you trying to get a ring that Taehee will like. I thought the whole reason that you were proposing was because Taehee wants to get married?" Yoonji asks conversationally, her cat-like eyes pinned to the rings laid out in the lit up display cases as she feigns disinterest. "I mean, isn't that why you asked me to come instead of Seokjin? Because I know Taehee better."
Namjoo bites her lip and fiddles with the sleeve of her cardigan, not meeting Yoonji's gaze as they move on to the next display case when none of the rings catch her attention. "Well...I'm not really a big fan of marriage and all that, but I know Taehee is and getting married is a pretty small price to pay when I think about how my life was before I met Taehee. So, I mean. Yeah, it's mainly for her, but I don't want her to think I just chose the first ring I saw. I want Taehee to know that I love her enough to set the whole I-don't-really-like-marriage thing aside, you know?"
Yoonji blinks, looking up to meet Namjoo's nervous gaze. "No. I don't know. Seokjin and I have never had talks like that and I didn't know you didn't believe in marriage. Are you sure Taehee knows about the way you feel?"
Because she's sure as hell positive about you saying yes, is what Yoonji thinks to herself in her head when Namjoo smiles bashfully at her in response.
"She does, but she's also really sure that she's the exception to my I'm-never-getting-married thing," Namjoo chuckles to herself. "And, wouldn't you know it? She was right."
Yoonji shakes her head, already used to her erratic cousin and sighs, pulling her phone out and discreetly angling the screen away from Namjoo so she can check the picture again.
A large diamond in the center, baby rubies, gold band. That has got to be the same ring in the next display case. If it's not, Yoonji's going to berate Seokjin for their plan going terribly wrong.
Namjoo walks along and passes by the next display case, to Yoonji's horror, and then doubles back almost as soon as she has, to Yoonji's relief. She leans down, her nose almost touching the display case and Yoonji is more than relieved when she spies the ring that has transfixed the usual reserved Namjoo.
"This one," Namjoo says, her nose still plastered to the glass as she uses her finger to point. "This is the one."
Yoonji leans over her and examines the ring as closely as she can before she smiles and pats Namjoo on the back. "Yeah, it definitely is."
While Namjoo is hashing out the details with a salesperson, Yoonji shoots Seokjin a text saying: plan was a success. told you i'm a genius.
Tumblr media
Taehee blinks, unsure of what exactly is going on. Namjoo blinks up at her sweetly, on one knee as she holds up the ring Taehee bought for Namjoo.
"Oh my god," Taehee says in a rush of air, hand digging through her back pocket.
"I know," Namjoo says with a wide grin, holding the box up even higher, but Taehee only shakes her head, finally pulling the ring box out of her pocket.
"No, Namjoo. I mean, oh my fucking god I was going to propose to you with that ring," Taehee gushes, going down on one knee as well while she flicks open the box and holds it out to Namjoo. "See?"
"Oh my god," Namjoo echoes, her eyes wide as she looks between their proffered rings. "We've been duped."
Taehee nods, her bangs flopping into her face. "By my own cousin."
"We have to get them back. We have to, Tae."
"Of course! It's like a given by this point," Taehee chuckles and then she grows quiet, her eyes blowing up to ridiculous proportions again. "Oh my god, Namjoo. Baby, us lesbians really are powerful."
Namjoo giggles, letting her other knee drop so she now looks like she's praying. "I mean, I know we are, but why do you say that?"
Taehee leans into Namjoo and settles herself into her girlfriend's chest in a more comfortable position than before. "Double proposal. We really have to be soulmates if we thought of doing it at the exact. same. time."
"Oh my god, you're right."
"When am I ever wrong?"
"Well," Namjoo begins and then laughs as Taehee presses a hand to her mouth and shushes her.
Taehee laughs then too, leaning further into Namjoo while she holds their rings up, side-by-side. "So. We're getting married then?"
"Yeah, I mean, of course," Namjoo rushes to reply, nuzzling her chin into Taehee's hair. "Really no doubt about it."
Taehee smiles, propping her head up to watch Namjoo. "Good."
Namjoo smiles as well, dipping down until their lips are a hair's breadth apart. "Good."
Tumblr media
"What do you mean you're already married?" Taehee asks with arms hung loosely at her sides in shock.
Yoonji shrugs, her usual bored expression never faltering. "Yeah. For like two years already. You and Namjoo were still in school so we had Hobi and Minnie be our witnesses."
"You asked them to be your witnesses? Am I not your cousin?" Taehee shouts, hands in the air now and Namjoo lays a hand on her back, silently telling her fiance to tone it down.
"Yeah," Seokjin laughs, his face turning red rapidly as he does. "Gguk was even there, with Mingyu. They came for the food."
"Oh my god, I hate you," Taehee yells, stomping her foot dramatically before she turns on her heel and walks out.
Namjoo smiles after her, turning back to nod at the married couple in front of her. "Besides the matching rings and not inviting us to your wedding, thanks."
Yoonji nods, offering the semblance of a smile in return. "Hope you guys are happy together. Don't make us regret it."
"We won't," Namjoo shakes her head, waving before she too turns to leave, taking Taehee's hand once she's out on the porch and leads her soulmate to the car, feeling as if she's walking on air as Taehee settles into the driver's seat and turns immediately to crash her lips onto Namjoo's.

it’s getting dark (but here comes the sun)

Tumblr media
Namjoon makes sure that his polite smile remains on his face for the duration of the lecture.
He goes through his slides at a leisure pace and stops when needed to answer questions about the lesson. His students are paying attention and taking dutiful notes, but Namjoon can't help that the joy of teaching no longer fills him with excitement and hope like it once used to.
He does manage to hold onto a tiny spark of amusement when he hands back the graded essays from last week and his students groan when they chance a look at their scores. Namjoon dismisses class after that and waits patiently by his desk for the students who have questions about their papers or why they got a certain grade and how they can improve their essay techniques for next time. Namjoon entertains them for twenty minutes and then reminds them of his office hours for that week if they have any more questions or need further help before he leads the way out for the next class to enter. He waves at Professor Min in the hallway and decides to ask Yoongi how the students in his women studies class are doing later in the week when they meet for lunch.
Absentmindedly, he weaves his way through the crowds of students on campus and makes a pit stop at the office he shares with two other English professors and revises his current lesson plan. Namjoon takes notes of the points he wants to expand on during the lecture next week and updates his version of the textbook he assigned his classes. He had done his best to find a textbook that wasn't so expensive but still contained the material that Namjoon would need for his students to get the most out of the money they would spend just to take his class. In his first year of teaching, he printed out a multitude of articles back when paper was still used and made his students buy a twelve dollar guidebook off amazon and almost had a break down with how awful his students were struggling to understand the concepts introduced in the guidebook because they were never explained on later in detail as they should have been.
After that, Namjoon did his research and found a relatively affordable textbook that would do the job just fine. He always gives his students at least three weeks to get the book after the term has begun just in case they need to pay bills first before they buy school books. He knows that even though they may reside in Washington, D.C, it doesn't mean that everyone who attends school in the area is rich. He struggled plenty with money and school books when he was a student himself and had often thought of dropping out, but there was always one reason he persevered through his hard times.
(He never said a word of it out loud, but having someone to talk to and help him study and just generally keep him company saved Namjoon more times than he would like to count during his college years. Somehow, Taehyung seemed to realized this anyway and teased Namjoon about it enough for the fondness he felt for his husband to override any negative feelings a younger Namjoon might have had.)
One of the other professors enters their office then, tearing Namjoon out of his thoughts. He smiles at them, making small talk before he packs his things up and clears out for their office hours once a student timidly knocks on the door. Namjoon taps his watch and sends a message to Alexa, the house A.I., that he is on his way home and to turn the heater on so that by the time he arrives, the house will not be freezing.
Back in the early 2000s, most of the Earth's environmentalists had warned everybody of the quickly oncoming effects of global warming while various governments downplayed their claims by distracting the general public with other less important issues such as national security that was not at any actual risk. Truthfully, global warming had been a rapidly rising problem ever since the ‘90s and ‘80s, but as far as Namjoon could tell, the general population only began to pay attention to it in the late 2010s. By then, it was too late because in 2022 the Earth's temperatures dropped seemingly “out of nowhere” and have remained there ever since.
Namjoon only knows about any of this in such detail because Yoongi's boyfriend, Jeongguk, and Jeongguk’s boyfriend, Seokjin, are two of the many scientists who are working on getting the Earth's temperature back to a normal state. They always complain about work on those rare occasions that they join Namjoon and Yoongi for lunch and bicker about their data results constantly. Namjoon was nervous the first time he met them, mostly because he had no idea how to treat them after Yoongi explained that Jeongguk is polyamorous while his partners are not and are okay with him dating them both, but Namjoon gradually relaxed as the meet-ups continued and he got to know all three of them better.
Seokjin is the eldest of them all and never acts like his age which is hilarious when Namjoon compares that to Jeongguk always listening to him with rapt attention whenever Namjoon is explaining something about his latest lesson. Their easy-going natures made it hard for him to remain reserved around the two new additions and soon, Namjoon found himself frequently at Yoongi’s home for dinner during the week and sometimes housing them at his own. Jeongguk had made the mistake of asking Namjoon about his wedding band during their very first meeting as well and Namjoon forced himself not to let his smile fall as he explained about Taehyung.
(Namjoon is positive that Yoongi purposefully changed the subject after that for his benefit and berated his boyfriend for the question in private afterward because no one ever brought it up again after that.)
The drive home is short and Namjoon stops by the mailbox to click on its screen to check for any new mail. Most of it is just bills, but there is also a postcard from Hoseok and Jimin included in the files. Namjoon syncs the mail to his watch with a few more taps then shuts down the screen with a dismissive swipe across it and walks leisurely towards his front door.
Thankfully, it is warm inside his home and Namjoon sighs as he kicks off his shoes and hangs his jacket in the hallway closet. He throws his keys in the bowl by the door and walks forward, tapping away at the face of his watch to check his other notifications. He pays the bills with another swipe and asks Alexa to play his welcome home playlist before he grabs the handle of the fridge and waits for the screen to tell him what he currently has inside the icebox and how fresh it currently is. He doesn't find much that he is in the mood for and grabs the freezer handle, smiling when he catches sight of the ground beef at 89% freshness sitting on top of an oven pizza Namjoon is saving for one of his very bad days. Today has been well and on top of that, Namjoon wants to cook something relatively easy, so the obvious choice is spaghetti.
Namjoon grabs the beef and goes over to the sink and fills it with hot water before he places the ground beef in it to defrost quickly, cursing the fact that he hadn’t set it out earlier before he left for his classes in the late morning. He knows what is in the pantry because he finished restocking it before he left for class and grabbing the package of angel hair off one of the top shelves is effortless. Namjoon sets the pasta on the counter and searches for a pot, checking all of his drawers individually when it would be much easier to pull up the kitchen manifest file he has downloaded and synced on his watch instead. Eventually, he finds a pot and fills it with water, asking Alexa to turn the stove on as he does. Namjoon hums along to his playlist as he sets the pot on the stove, looking over the stove's statistics before nodding his head in satisfaction and making his way towards the master bedroom.
The room feels bare with none of Taehyung’s clothes thrown carelessly everywhere and it is obvious that only one side of the bed is actually slept on, but Namjoon ignores the familiar ache in his chest and rushes to the closet. He finds a clean set of pajamas with blue stripes running down them vertically and an alien with a heart-shaped head scattered across the lines. It doesn't actually belong to him, but Namjoon ignores that fact and finds a clean pair of underwear before he takes his long-awaited shower of the day.
Namjoon still isn't used to the open shower in the bathroom and he knows that he most likely never will be. He powers through his shower anyway, drying himself off with a towel instead of the built-in blow dryers that retract from the walls because they always make his skin feel sticky afterward and changes into the pajamas back in the bedroom. He continues to ruffle his hair with his towel before he throws it into the hamper and with that done, Namjoon walks back into the kitchen to check on the pot of water he left to boil in his absence.
The water is ready and Namjoon makes sure to measure out an appropriate amount of pasta from the package before he reseals it with the sealing machine found in one of their drawers and drops them into the pot. He checks on the ground beef and finds it thawed enough for his tastes. His watch has already alerted him where another pot can be found and Namjoon wastes no time in filling it up with water and setting it down on an empty burner beside the pot of pasta. He drains the sink and opens the shrink wrap on the ground beef, scooping his usual amount of it in his hand before he breaks the meat into pieces and starts rolling them into balls between the palms of his hands. Before long, Namjoon has five meatballs ready that he added a meager amount of salt to and carefully settles them into the second boiling pot of water on the stove.
Thankfully, the angel hair is only just beginning to soften so Namjoon grabs one of his spoons reserved for pasta and starts stirring, asking Alexa if there is any butter in the fridge. It is easy to settle into his movements then. Namjoon barely has to think as he grabs the butter out of the fridge and uses a spoon to scoop some out of the tub and mix into his pot of boiling pasta. He continues to stir the pot, keeping an eye on his meatballs as well while he continues to sing along with his playlist. Here Comes The Sun is currently playing and Namjoon can’t stop himself from swaying with the beat of the music.
He lifts a noodle up from the hot, boiling water and blows on it until it is cool enough for him to bite. He chews with no difficulty and smiles to himself as he asks Alexa to turn the first burner off. Namjoon checks the kitchen manifest for the strainer and pulls it out of a drawer he never would have guessed to look through before he sets it near the sink and checks on his meatballs. When he opens one slightly with a fork, the meat isn’t pink and the next one he checks still has pink when he breaks it open enough to peer inside, so he sighs and asks Alexa to lower the heat on the burner before he focuses on straining the pasta.
The last song on his playlist comes to end once the stove has been turned off completely and Namjoon is fishing his meatballs out of the pot and onto his spaghetti. After straining his pasta, he had poured tomato sauce over it while it was still in its pot and turned the other burner back on to heat everything up because he hates pouring room temperature sauce over his pasta. Now his meatballs are finally done, he resealed the ground beef before sticking it back into the freezer, and the plate of delicious-looking spaghetti before him is making his stomach rumble with hunger.
Namjoon moves his plate to the kitchen table and the pots into the dishwasher, asking Alexa to start the pre-soak and then wait for his signal to start the regular wash cycle again. He grabs a glass from the cupboard and takes the pitcher of lemonade he made yesterday out of the fridge before returning to the table.
“Alexa, play Taehyung’s playlist,” Namjoon murmurs as he sits, having poured himself a glass of lemonade and twirled his fork through his spaghetti already.
A soft jazz ensemble begins to play and Namjoon takes a bite of his food, doing his best to ignore the ache in his chest and the way his hands are beginning to shake. He forces himself to get through his meal, pushing away the lonely thoughts that have plagued him ever since Taehyung left as the music continues to play. Eventually, Namjoon has to stop once he realizes that the wetness on his cheeks isn’t tomato sauce at all but his tears instead.
“Alexa, play the last video message received from Taehyung.”
Namjoon ignores the fact that his voice is raspy and cracked twice when he spoke and instead focuses on the video that begins to play in the seat across from him that Taehyung used to sit in when they would have dinner together. Taehyung’s familiar face is blown up to fill the entire space allowed by the projected video and Namjoon grabs a napkin from the middle of the table to start wiping his face. He can clearly see black emptiness behind Taehyung and a green-blue glow lights up his face enough so Namjoon can tell that he is in his suit at that moment. Floating in the middle of space. Making his way towards Mars of all places. So very far away from the Earth and Namjoon in general.
He has been gone three years now and most likely will be gone for three more. Namjoon knows that if he had left for Mars any earlier, Taehyung would be out in space for over twenty years instead of the expected seven he was enduring now. Hoseok and Jimin were engineers and had worked for years on the rocket that Taehyung and a group of other trained astronauts would use to get to Mars and back with all of their new findings. Namjoon had met them when he swung by the base one time to bring Taehyung his lunch that he had forgotten and had not been able to leave until Hoseok and Taehyung both dragged Jimin away from pinching Namjoon’s cheeks any further. He still doesn’t understand the fascination, but Hoseok and Jimin are in the Bahamas for a long deserved vacation they were finally allowed to go on a few months ago and he is happy that they finally get to rest.
Namjoon became friends with Yoongi soon after his only other friends left the country for what they called their second honeymoon and he knows that he isn’t really alone. He knows that if he asked, Yoongi would invite him over to his place and ask Namjoon to spend the night so he wouldn’t feel so lonely in the dead of the night when he’s curled up on Taehyung’s side of the bed, failing to fall asleep yet again. He also knows that if he even let a hint of his unhappiness show whenever he video chats with them, Hoseok and Jimin would hop on the fastest porter and follow him around everywhere, refusing to leave him alone even for a minute. He knows this, but he would never allow himself to be so selfish either.
Yoongi has his own relationship to pay attention to and with the difficulty of it, Namjoon knows that his fellow teacher’s attention is spread thin at any given time. Hoseok and Jimin are so wrapped up in each other that he once had to stop them from having sex right in front of him. Plus, those two deserve their vacation. Namjoon doesn’t want to ruin that.
So he watches and listens to Taehyung’s video attentively, wiping at his face when Taehyung smiles for him and tells him that he loves him before the feed cuts off and Namjoon is left staring at the back of Taehyung’s chair.
He misses Taehyung more than words could ever say and he always finds himself spinning his wedding band around on his finger whenever he thinks of him.
He misses his husband, but he never would have convinced Taehyung to stay on Earth and choose a different career path instead. This is what he signed up for when he got set up on a blind date by his sister and his date never showed up, but Taehyung had pretended to be his date just as the waiter was swooping in to ask if Namjoon still wanted to wait after an hour had passed. Since then, Namjoon has never once thought of anyone but him and it was easy to ask Taehyung out on a real date since they had exchanged numbers on Namjoon’s botched one.
For Namjoon, his choice has always been Taehyung and always will be. No matter what.
He might miss Taehyung more than he ever thought he knew how to miss anybody or anything, but Namjoon loves his husband more than everything in this galaxy and he believes in him. He believes in them and that is why when he thinks of how much he aches for his husband to come home, he also thinks of how Taehyung is going to be the first man on Mars and make history.
Most of all, he thinks of how happy and accomplished Taehyung is going to feel when he finally comes home.
Namjoon will wait for as long as he has to.
Tumblr media
Taehyung double checks that his suit is still in working order when he takes the last few steps down the ramp and sets a foot down on firm ground, officially making him the first man to step on Mars.
The giddy feeling that spreads through him reminds him of his wedding day when he looked up to see Namjoon standing at the end of the aisle looking breathtakingly beautiful. Taehyung knows that he cried as Namjoon walked towards him and he is proud of that fact no matter how many times Hoseok and Jimin teased him for it when they saw his wedding video. Now they have it downloaded to their joint data bank and would constantly play the clip over and over again when he would swing by the R&D department to check out how the spaceship was coming along.
He can say that he misses the teasing now that he hasn’t been able to endure it for over an entire Earth year, but he is grateful for the technology that his friends crafted to get him where he is now.
His crew is quick to follow him and Taehyung smiles as Joshua plants the U.S. flag in the soil while their watches record the scene from multiple angles. Taehyung is mostly amazed that their smartwatches still retain their basic functions so far out of range from any kind of signal except for that of the ship, but he won’t start complaining about it any time soon. Their watches come more in handy than anyone would like to think.
Mars is dusty and a rich dark brown that almost looks red if he weren’t paying close attention to it. The dunes their old rovers took photos of for them two decades ago are more impressive in real life and Taehyung can hardly believe this is all real. But he has a mission, one specifically crafted just for him, and he cannot let himself fail it now.
Luckily, his target isn’t too far from their landing spot and Taehyung makes sure his camera is in working order before he trudges across the surface of Mars and kneels down before a very dusty and beloved rover. He wipes off the dust on the solar panels and cups what he has always thought of as something like a face while the robot begins to take in energy and charge up.
Joshua is still standing by the flag he made sure to stick into Mars’ land, but the entire crew is holding their breath, waiting.
They do not have to wait for long because soon enough the screen on the rover’s chest is flickering on and the rover’s face moves in his hands, leaning into Taehyung’s touch.
Music begins to play from Vernon’s watch and Taehyung almost cries when he realizes that it is Here Comes The Sun. It is Namjoon’s favorite song and just the thought of his husband alone and missing him back on Earth has Taehyung itching to snatch up the robot and book it for the ship, setting the fastest course for home so he can return as soon as he can to the one he loves and misses most.
Except this is important and Namjoon would understand. Namjoon has always accommodated him and loved him without fault. This time would be no different.
That all recedes to the back of his mind when the rover begins to move once more, treading forward slightly until it bumps into Taehyung’s knee. It stops and makes a noise Taehyung would assume is an apology but he is just too happy to care.
“Hello, Oppy. Are you ready to go home?” Taehyung asks, grinning as his crew erupts into cheers behind him.
The journey is now halfway over. He knows that the team will need to take multiple samples of Mars’ surface and conduct a number of tests, but his mission is finally complete.
Taehyung can return to Earth, and more importantly, he can return to Namjoon.

When they step off the bus with their one piece of luggage and backpacks strapped to them, Jeongguk almost stumbles.
He wasn't expecting the wave of sinister heat that was lurking just outside the air-conditioned windows of the bus to strike him against the face so soon. He knows that in the summer, most places are high in regards to heat, but Namjoon had assured him that it would be tolerable here.
Either Namjoon was wrong, which Jeongguk very much doubts, or an unexpected heatwave struck this town.
Probably a heatwave since Namjoon looks confused about the heat as well. Oh, well. At least the town is pretty and their Airbnb has air conditioning.
Namjoon has an interview lined up at a nearby bookstore, so they pull their luggage between them and walk into town. Brașov has an old-time feel to it, from its swooping architecture and cobbled streets to its cheery air and lacking signs of technology around. Jeongguk doesn't understand much of the language spoken around them, but he's used to that by now.
They have spent the entire summer backpacking around the world. They stopped first in Japan and stayed there for two weeks before they moved on to China. Namjoon cut their stay there short, so they ended up in Europe only a week after that. London was pretty if you could get over the pollution and Paris was even better. But now they are on their last leg of their mini-tour around the world. Transylvania.
Namjoon is a Dracula fanatic and pouts whenever Jeongguk doesn't use Dracula's proper name, but Jeongguk isn't bothered enough to remember it, so. Dracula. Everyone knows who that is anyway.
They stop by the bookstore first. Namjoon follows one of the managers into the back of the shop while Jeongguk waits in the poetry section. The shop is filled to the brim with books; old, new, current, and historical. It isn't your typical Barnes & Nobles, but Jeongguk likes it. Namjoon would thrive here anyway.
Namjoon tends to thrive just about anywhere though.
Jeongguk kicks his feet against the plush red rug underneath his armchair and turns his gaze back towards the surrounding shelves. He can't read most of the titles, but a few are in English and he knows enough of that to understand them at least. In the five countries they visited, Jeongguk's limited knowledge of English came quite handy. Especially, in London.
They saved up as much money as they could which was actually quite plenty thanks to Namjoon's books selling off the shelves as soon as they were published, but Jeongguk insisted they take on jobs during their trip anyway. After all, he doesn't want to coast off Namjoon's money forever and he definitely doesn't want someone to mistake him as Namjoon's sugar baby instead of his long-term boyfriend.
He hums as he reaches out and picks up a tiny collection of poems, browsing through it quickly. Most of the pages have very short poems on them, sometimes with illustrations, but generally without. Jeongguk wonders why this kind of book is on the best-selling shelf and puts it back, staring down at his feet and keeping a steady hand on their suitcase.
There are a few customers walking around in the other shelves, but they don't stray towards the section he finds himself in and wonders if it's because they've read these books already or they find them as interesting as Jeongguk does, which is not at all.
Just as he's contemplating picking another random book off the shelf, Namjoon returns. A bright grin that shows off his dimples has Jeongguk smiling in return before his boyfriend has even uttered a word. He already knows it's good news.
Namjoon keeps a hold on their suitcase as they leave the shop, a skip in his step that wasn't there before. He starts humming a song that Jeongguk vaguely recognizes as Hoody's Sunshine and takes his boyfriend's hand as they continue to walk.
Soon enough, Namjoon is leading them into an apartment building where he spends a few moments talking to the owner before he comes back with a set of keys in hand. Namjoon hadn't blinked an eye at the cost of the apartment they would be staying in for the last month and a half of their vacation, but Jeongguk had later calculated the cost and almost had a heart attack. It was less than half a month's worth of the rent they pay back in Seoul and that was with the utilities they had to pay for on top of that as well.
The apartment is bigger than their own back at home with a washing machine in the kitchen that Jeongguk wants to get his hands on immediately. Namjoon pulls him away though and shows him the two bedrooms, repeating the fact that the manager wouldn't let them get a one-bedroom apartment if he revealed they were a couple. Jeongguk only shrugs, not caring too much since they are bound to end up in different rooms a few nights during their stay anyway.
Namjoon presses a kiss to his forehead then hefts their suitcase onto the bed and Jeongguk loses himself into dividing and organizing their clothes.
Tumblr media
Bran Castle broods high up over its surrounding peaks and forests. Jeongguk has to tip his head back impossibly far before he's able to see the very top of the castle.
The bus ride to the castle had lasted far longer than it actually was and Jeongguk almost fell asleep plenty of times aboard. Namjoon had nudged and prodded him each time he began to nod off and Jeongguk world startle awake, leaning heavily onto Namjoon’s side so as to not disturb the other passengers. The dense forest they had driven past made Jeongguk itch to draw, but he had left his sketchbook back at their apartment so he left his head on Namjoon’s shoulder and watched the scenery pass by.
Now, they’re here and facing a mob of a crowd. Namjoon is vibrating with excitement beside him, a travel-sized dictionary held in one hand and one of his smaller backpacks clenched tight in the other. Jeongguk can admit that the castle is gorgeous, but that's mostly thanks to the scenery that he already had his fill of.
Either way, it'll be good to listen to his mother tongue for the next few hours. Namjoon signed them up for a Korean tour of the castle, which Jeongguk was surprised they had, but Namjoon's excited so he will behave.
Near the entrance is a booth. A crowd of people mingles about there, a mix of tour guides, janitors, and tourists. The clash of languages is harsh on Jeongguk's ears as they approach, but he heeds it no mind. Namjoon keeps shooting glances at him, a wide smile spread across his face as he tries to figure out if Jeongguk is actually enjoying himself or merely pretending for Namjoon's sake. But nothing much has happened as of yet, so he's pretending for now.
They get in line and once they reach the front, Namjoon pulls their tickets out of his special folder in his backpack and hands them to the woman behind the booth so she can scan them and wave them inside. Namjoon had printed their tickets out back when they were still in Seoul, vibrating with his excitement much the same way he was doing now. Jeongguk had agreed to the tour because it was the least he could do after Namjoon had insisted on paying for all of their plane tickets.
Once they have finished checking-in and sport new colorful bracelets, Jeongguk leans on Namjoon's shoulder and goes on tiptoe to look over the heads of the gathered crowd. He spots a handsome looking man holding up a sign in Korean that reads: BRAN CASTLE TOUR.
"Found it," Jeongguk says into Namjoon's ear as he drops back down to his regular height. "Follow me."
Namjoon grips onto the back of Jeongguk's shirt and trails after him as they push their way through the crowd. Jeongguk occasionally goes back on the tips of his toes to make sure they are going the right way then maneuvers them through the bodies pressed so closely together around them. It's not as hot today as it was yesterday when they arrived, but here in the thick of things, Jeongguk feels almost suffocated by the body heat.
He's relieved once they emerge from the crowd and find their tour guide. Until their tour guide smiles at them and Jeongguk's breath catches in his throat.
Holy shit.
The man's smile is rectangular in shape, but bright enough that Jeongguk's sure it could very well light up this entire castle at night. Namjoon freezes beside him in a similar fashion at the sight that greets them but he recovers much more quickly than Jeongguk.
"Hi! Are you the tour guide?" Namjoon asks while a hesitant smile of his own spreads across his lips.
"Yep! Hello. My name is Kim Taehyung and welcome to the Korean tour of Bran Castle," Taehyung greets them.
Jeongguk blinks, unsurprised by their tour guide's fluency. "Hello, Taehyung-ssi. Are we expecting anyone else?"
Taehyung shakes his head. "Not today! But yesterday, the tour was jam-packed full of people. I almost wish I wasn't the only one who speaks Korean here. It was difficult leading the tours by myself."
"How often does that usually happen?" Namjoon asks, instantly intrigued.
"Very often this summer actually! But it was rare to have a day like that the last couple of summers. Management is thinking of hiring someone else to help me out," Taehyung smiles at them. "But enough about that, let's start the tour!"
Jeongguk takes Namjoon's hand and follows after Taehyung, finding it hard not to stare at the tour guide's ass. It’s plump and round, which is only complimented by his jeans that are practically hugging his legs. Jeongguk laughs under his breath when he catches Namjoon blatantly staring though. The pervert. At least Jeongguk is making an effort not to look.
Namjoon frowns at him but doesn't stop staring at Taehyung's ass. Probably to spite him.
Once they've passed a few other tour groups and made their way into the courtyard, Taehyung stops and turns to face them. His smile is still as bright as ever and Jeongguk feels a strange stirring in his chest as Taehyung reveals a box of strawberries that he hadn't noticed before.
He feels hypnotized as he watches Taehyung raise a strawberry to his mouth and take a bite. A bit of the fruit's juice dribbles down his chin but is quickly wiped away by Taehyung's pink tongue. Namjoon shuffles beside him, pushing his glasses up the bridge of his nose in what Jeongguk knows is a nervous tic.
Seems like it isn't just Jeongguk who is very interested after all.
Taehyung finishes his strawberry in record time and smiles at them when he looks up to meet their gazes. Jeongguk can't fight the feeling that their tour guide did that on purpose, but he pushes it down and tries to give his most polite smile in return. Namjoon leans into his side and hides his face in Jeongguk's shoulder instead, the coward.
Jeongguk knows it isn't in his imagination when Taehyung smirks at that.
Namjoon looks up once Taehyung has resumed the tour, speaking of the queen whose artifacts are being showcased in the castle. How the castle is popular amongst Dracula fans, but that it is only ever spooky on Halloween when tourists are allowed to spend the night in the castle. Jeongguk does his best to nod along even though he doesn't actually care.
He lets Namjoon grip onto his arm and pinch him from time to time when something excites him, but Jeongguk can't help but think that they definitely could have been doing something a lot better than this.
Of course, that doesn't mean that watching the excitement and happiness on Namjoon's face (or watching Taehyung’s ass in those jeans) isn't worth his boredom though. Jeongguk would do just about anything for Namjoon and that includes walking through an old as shit castle listening to a hot as fuck tour guide talk about its history and architecture while torturing them with his strawberries and eating habits.
By the time the tour is over, Jeongguk is half hard in his pants. They thank Taehyung for the tour and Namjoon shoves a scrap of paper that has their numbers on it in Taehyung's hand before he forcibly drags them away to the bus stop.
Namjoon jumps him as soon as they have kicked off their shoes back at the apartment and Jeongguk responds happily. Namjoon is always so gentle with him, always keeping them face-to-face as he fucks into him. Sometimes his hands will frame Jeongguk's face as he murmurs praise into his skin, but this time Namjoon grips his hair and kisses him hard as he rides him. Jeongguk comes in Namjoon unexpectedly and feels utterly boneless after Namjoon has jerked himself off on Jeongguk’s stomach.
Namjoon is cleaning him up when he leans over and kisses Jeongguk tenderly, garnering his attention.
"Again?" Jeongguk asks, already beginning to turn over so Namjoon can have him this time.
"No, maybe later," Namjoon murmurs as he grabs his hips and turns Jeongguk on his back. "But we should talk about something before we get dressed though."
Jeongguk nods, tendrils of his hair sticking to his sweaty face. "Taehyung?"
Namjoon nods in return, an amused smile on his face. "You were hard by the time we got on the bus."
"You were too."
"We should sleep with him."
"Yeah, we should," Jeongguk sighs, closing his eyes as he relaxes into the pillows. "He has our numbers thanks to you."
Namjoon kisses him again, slower this time. "We just have to wait."
Jeongguk doesn't bother with a verbal reply. He's pretty sure that the kiss is enough of an answer for the both of them.
Tumblr media
Jeongguk is visiting Namjoon in the bookstore when Taehyung texts them.
unknown: is this namjoon and jeongguk?
jeongguk: yep! namjoon is working right now so he can't answer messages for another hour this is taehyung, right?
unknown: yes. i thought a group chat would be a better idea than individual texts
jeongguk: well you were right
taehyung: i'm glad (:
Jeongguk looks up from his phone to shoot a cheeky grin at Namjoon. "Seduce Strawberry Man is a go."
Namjoon rolls his eyes. "I didn't agree to that name."
"Well, it's not like Wine-and-Dine Tae was any better!"
"So you say," Namjoon says with another roll of his eyes.
"Because I'm right!"
"Sure."
Jeongguk grabs the application Namjoon had been trying to convince him to take since he arrived and angrily starts to fill it out. "Just watch. I'm stealing your job to get back at you. This is Seokjin-level of petty right here, Joon."
Namjoon laughs and excuses himself as a customer comes up to him. Jeongguk doesn't understand most of what they're saying since the customer is most definitely a local, but Namjoon has always said that practice helps more than studying when it comes to languages.
And, well, Namjoon is always right.
Jeongguk continues to fill out the application, cringing at his mediocre writing in English. By the time he's done, Namjoon has returned and spares a quick glance at the paper before he goes behind the register and starts to rifle through things. Soon enough, he's holding up a few papers stapled together and hands it to Jeongguk with a triumphant look on his face.
It's his resume. Seems like Namjoon is always one step ahead of him after all. It's even been updated since they both worked in that coffee shop back in Paris. Jeongguk shakes his head fondly and staples his resume to the application. Namjoon takes it and drops it in a small in-and-out stand Jeongguk recognizes from countless office scenes in movies. Next to that is a box of new books Namjoon immediately starts to sort.
"I'll see you for dinner then?" Jeongguk asks.
Namjoon hums in response and Jeongguk smiles at him before he turns and leaves.
He has dinner to cook after all.
Tumblr media
A few days after Jeongguk has gotten the job at the bookstore, Taehyung convinces Namjoon to apply for the new tour guide position up at the castle.
Jeongguk isn't surprised in the least when Namjoon does so immediately and hands in his twenty days at the bookshop right after. Once it's confirmed that Namjoon has gotten the tour guide job, Jeongguk and Taehyung take him out to celebrate. Jeongguk gets drunker than he can imagine and almost climbs onto Namjoon’s lap right there in the restaurant before a smirking Taehyung pulls him firmly back into his seat. He has to forcibly stop himself from leaning in and kissing Taehyung just to get rid of that irritating smirk on his face, but all in all, the night turns out to be pretty great.
Taehyung shows them his favorite haunts slowly after their first night out. His Romanian is perfect, much better than Namjoon's and leaves Jeongguk wondering just how long Taehyung has been living here. Namjoon quirks his eyebrows every time Taehyung easily switches between a variety of languages, all with the ease of someone who is fluent in them, but never verbally asks about it.
Well, not to Taehyung anyway. Jeongguk falls victim to his musings instead each time they return home after going out someplace new with the pretty tour guide.
"You know what's really weird though?" Namjoon asks when he comes to visit Jeongguk at the bookshop one morning.
Jeongguk looks up from the books he was registering on their system, a brow raised in silent question before he returns to the ancient computer.
"He never eats anything except those strawberries he carries around," Namjoon hums, fingers tapping against his chin as he leans on the counter. "I've never seen him eat anything else. He'll order food and stuff when we go out, but have you ever seen him actually chewing any of it?"
Jeongguk pauses then, shock overcoming his senses as he realizes that what Namjoon is saying is true. "Holy shit. You're right."
"Of course, I am," Namjoon replies with a frown, fingers moving through his hair now. "It's just really strange. Honestly, if I hadn't seen Taehyung in the sunlight multiple times, I would have thought he was some kind of vampire. You know, since they only feed on fruit and stuff."
"Maybe he's just following a new fad diet or something," Jeongguk theorizes. "You never know."
Namjoon's frown deepens. "I don't think that's it. Taehyung is very comfortable in his outward appearance. I can tell just by observing him at work. It's something else, I just don't know what."
Jeongguk turns back to the computer screen in front of him again. "Well, maybe we should leave it alone. It's not like it's any of our business."
"No," Namjoon agrees, before sighing, "but it could be. He's coming to our place for dinner again tomorrow. We should make our move soon, we only have two weeks before we go back to Seoul."
"Yeah, sure," Jeongguk says.
He ignores the yawning pit in his stomach that declares he doesn't want to leave Brașov just yet and leans in for the kiss Namjoon places on his cheek before leaving. Jeongguk watches him go, not knowing what he's going to do.
Tumblr media
Jeongguk wakes up with his heart in shambles, breaths fighting to get past his lungs.
Namjoon lies beside him, curled into himself right on the edge of the bed. Jeongguk watches him, pressing a hand to his chest to calm himself. It works slowly, but Jeongguk is just glad that it works at all. He hopes it isn't one of those nights where it doesn't because those are the worst and they have a guest spending the night too. The relief he feels is tremendous once he has managed to calm himself down.
The clock on their bedside proclaims it as seven past three in the morning. Jeongguk sighs and gets out of bed, leaning down to kiss the back of Namjoon's head before he puts his slippers on and leaves the room.
Jeongguk slows down as he passes by the second bedroom, cocking an ear out in the hopes of hearing deep breaths. When silence is the only thing that greets him, however, Jeongguk frowns and makes his way down the hallway towards the kitchen.
There he finds what he was looking for.
"Oh, you're awake," Taehyung says in greeting.
Jeongguk nods as he gets a glass of water. "Yeah. I had a bad dream, so I decided to get some water and then try to get back to sleep."
Taehyung hums thoughtfully. "Do you want to talk about it?"
"Not really," Jeongguk murmurs. "Thank you though."
Once the glass is full, Jeongguk turns and leans on the counter. He takes a sip from his glass before he finds himself chugging the whole thing down, surprised by his own thirst.
"Thirsty?" Taehyung asks.
Jeongguk meets his eyes over the glass, setting it down once it is empty. Taehyung's eyes are dark with want and amusement, something Jeongguk has found himself getting used to after spending two weeks in his company. A box of strawberries stands on the island, open and nearly empty, but Jeongguk isn't worried. He knows that Taehyung has another one in his bag, completely filled to the brim with bright, blood-red strawberries.
"Yeah," Jeongguk manages to rasp after a while.
Taehyung smiles, the want in his gaze slowly ebbing away until amusement is the only thing left. "Think you can sleep now?"
Jeongguk shrugs. Taehyung takes it as a yes.
"Come on," Taehyung urges as he stands, flipping the lid on his strawberries closed before he holds his hand out in Jeongguk's direction. "I'll sit in the rocking chair until you fall back asleep."
Jeongguk takes his hand, surprised by the heat he can feel coming off the older man in waves. He remembers Namjoon's words in the bookshop yesterday as they echo in his head, but he follows Taehyung back down the hallway and lays down in bed beside his boyfriend.
The rocking chair creaks quietly as Taehyung settles down in it. Jeongguk can see him over Namjoon’s messy hair, but he closes his eyes anyway and throws an arm over his boyfriend's chest. He can feel Taehyung's gaze on them, branding them as his somehow and Jeongguk swallows.
Of course, they want Taehyung. Jeongguk knows that the what he and Namjoon feel isn't just sexual, but something more too. It's just hard to convince Namjoon of that when he's focusing on how long they have left here instead.
Jeongguk settles himself into his boyfriend's side and falls asleep quickly, the rocking chair's creaking sounding like a lullaby.
Tumblr media
Jeongguk wants to get his shirt off already, but Namjoon gives him a look to slow him down. He pouts, but obeys it, and continues to kiss Namjoon languidly.
Taehyung watches from the rocking chair, one hand on his thigh as the other digs around in his box of strawberries. Jeongguk wants to watch him watch them, but Namjoon's mere presence demands most of his attention. Kissing Namjoon requires tact and all of his focus, something he learned easily and quickly after they first started dating.
Namjoon hums in the back of his throat and Jeongguk groans against his mouth, handing over the reins to his boyfriend as he closes his eyes. Hands grip his waist and clamber up underneath his shirt, barely-there fingertips grazing the bumps of his spine. Jeongguk shivers, leaning into Namjoon's embrace as his boyfriend takes his time picking him apart.
"Are you sure you want me to be here?" Taehyung asks quietly, his voice not more than a murmur.
Jeongguk glares at him. "Yes. Get over here."
Taehyung laughs, standing up from the rocking chair and approaching them. Jeongguk shivers in anticipation as he closes in, his eyes fluttering shut when Namjoon grabs the ends of his shirt and swiftly pulls it over his head. A new set of hands take claim to his torso then, pressing down on his stomach before moving upwards and rolling one of his nipples between nimble fingers.
A moan makes its way past his lips and Jeongguk loses himself in the motions. He's the first one to get naked, but then Namjoon and Taehyung follow quickly after. Namjoon ends up being laid out like a feast on the bed and Jeongguk takes him in his mouth as Taehyung works him open.
Namjoon groans underneath them, throwing an arm over his eyes as Jeongguk takes him all the way down to the base at the same time Taehyung manages to get three fingers into him. Watching his boyfriend of many years writhe under their mercy is more intoxicating than Jeongguk ever imagined actually. He almost doesn't know what to do next.
Taehyung taps his shoulder and asks him for a condom, drawing his attention away and forcing him back on planet Earth. Jeongguk grabs one of the condoms they set aside on the bedside and opens it, rolling it down Taehyung's already leaking cock before he moves back to observe what comes next.
He has to stop a moan of his own from mingling with the ones Namjoon and Taehyung let loose when Taehyung buries himself in Namjoon slowly. Namjoon is tense at first then relaxes soon after, focusing on his breathing as Taehyung and Jeongguk watch him. Jeongguk kisses him once Taehyung has started moving, the sounds of skin slapping against skin almost too loud to bear.
Jeongguk looks up when Taehyung taps his cheek though, immediately caught off guard at his closeness. Taehyung grins, gripping Jeongguk's chin as he tilts his face up towards his and kisses him.
His lips are softer than flower petals, but he tastes weirdly of strawberries and blood. Jeongguk feels his insides melt and turns towards Namjoon, starry-eyed after Taehyung has pulled away. "You were right."
"About what?" Namjoon gasps, raising the arm over his eyes so he can chance a glance at Jeongguk.
"He is a vampire," Jeongguk breathes, smiling when Taehyung pauses behind him.
Namjoon only smiles. "I told you."
Taehyung interrupts then, a frown marring his beautiful features. "Wait, you knew?"
"Of course. You're not really subtle," Namjoon tells him, gasping again as Taehyung leans over him while hitching his legs up over his waist. "You only eat strawberries."
Jeongguk watches the two older men stare at one another, not knowing if he should say something or stay quiet. Taehyung makes the decision for him though.
"Ah, so then you also know that I'm Dracula then?"
Namjoon sputters. "What?"
"Nevermind. We can talk about it later."
"You almost came just now, didn't you?" Jeongguk asks with a sly smile on his face.
Namjoon flushes. "Shut up."
Jeongguk smiles over his shoulder at Taehyung. "You don't know how many times I've dressed up as a vampire just to make him squirm during sex."
"Well, no need now. A real vampire is fucking your boyfriend. How does that make you feel?" Taehyung says, his eyes flashing before he starts to build up a rhythm again.
"Turned on," Jeongguk answers honestly.
Taehyung smirks, leaning down so he can press his nose into the hollow of Namjoon's throat, inhaling deeply. "Good. Because after I make our little vampire fucker here come, I'm fucking you, Jeongguk-ah."
Jeongguk shivers, not knowing at all what to do with himself. "Please."
His only answer is another smile before Taehyung lifts himself up and fucks Namjoon with vigor, looking from Jeongguk to Namjoon's cock. Jeongguk understands almost immediately and lays down sideways on the bed, taking Namjoon into his mouth again. Namjoon hisses loudly somewhere above him, but Jeongguk ignores it, focusing instead on getting his boyfriend to come.
It doesn't actually take a lot to get Namjoon to reach his orgasm after that. Namjoon is, of course, fulfilling his biggest fantasy after all.
Fucking Dracula himself.
Namjoon is never allowed to make fun of Jeongguk for his fantasies after this now, the vampire fucker.
Tumblr media
It is embarrassing just how quickly Taehyung makes him come afterward. Jeongguk refuses to believe his endurance has really fallen that low to come apart after just a few minutes of getting fucked by the best cock he has ever had in his life.
Nope. Just not believable. At all.
Tumblr media
After it is all said and done, Jeongguk lays himself on top of Namjoon and throws an arm over Taehyung beside them.
Namjoon is tapping away at his phone, a look of the most utmost concentration morphing his features. Jeongguk lazily glances at the screen before blinking himself into awareness.
"Are you canceling our plane back to Seoul?"
"Yep," Namjoon says without missing a beat. "You don't sound surprised though."
Jeongguk laughs in delight at the news and kisses Namjoon firmly on the mouth. He turns to Taehyung right after and kisses him hard, relishing in the taste of strawberries on his tongue. There's no trace of the blood he tasted earlier but Jeongguk decides to ask about that another time.
Because now they have time.
“You know as well as I do that we were gonna stay the second we laid eyes on Taehyung,” Jeongguk murmurs into Namjoon’s skin as he leans back into him once he remembers to answer the question Namjoon asked just moments before.
Namjoon rolls his eyes and runs a hand through Taehyung’s mussed hair. “Yeah. I guess I did.”
Jeongguk hums happily, leaning down to kiss his kiss lovers again. He lets the warm feeling in his heart tingle in his fingertips as he traces lines down their naked bodies and enjoys the blissfulness of this moment.
He’ll never have anything greater than these two, that Jeongguk is more than sure of.
