as a very touch-starved person who does not have the opportunity for embrace like I did in my earlier youth, Karlach's plight really really fucking resonated with me.

When I finally cooled her engine down and got the option to just pull her into a big hug? I almost fucking cried. An absolutely beautiful moment. I love my fiery friend

" I...could I speak with you for a moment? " Astarion is nervous as he approaches Karlach's tent, all of his usual swagger and bravado absent. " I...wanted to thank you -- for helping me kill that devil. I know you didn't approve of me making a deal with Raphael, but you helped me anyway. So...thank you -- truly. " There's something else, something more as he shifts nervously on his feet before the tiefling.

EVER since Dammon had temporarily fixed Karlach's engine, he'd been expecting the question of sex to come up. The poor girl hadn't been touched in over a decade, and with...whatever this relationship was between them, Astarion was the clear choice for a partner. If it had been weeks ago, back at that night in the grove, he would've pounced at the opportunity, using it as a chance to manipulate Karlach into protecting him. But now -- now that things between them were real, now that he was quite certain he had screwed up and fallen for the fiery tiefling...it was a bit more complicated.

" WAS...there something you wanted in return? " The vampire is hesitant as he asks the question, almost as if he is bracing himself for her answer. Though Karlach had proven herself a steadfast friend and companion to him time and time again, experience had taught Astarion one hard truth: people only helped you for something in return. And hadn't this been what their relationship had been leading to all along? Why else would she have stuck alongside him all this time? Why else would she have helped him, if not to gain sexual favors after a decade of celibacy? He would be stupid to think anything otherwise.

Lucky was ready to fight a monster, a beast of the hells, to help the Blade of Frontiers for the first time. Then, to see that the first thing he was going to help the Blade with was killing a tiefling, a victim to a devil, his image shattered. He saw the will to live behind her eyes, not the will to kill. Safe to say, when everything turned out to work and Wyll proved to be a sensible individual, a moment of comfort filled his senses.

To say he grew to think fondly of Karlach is an understatement. Her brute strength was equally matched to her sweet and lovable personality. She was so intense, like an unstoppable blaze, but not in a way that threw him off. Well, that was a lie. There were occasions she just simply spoke her mind, not stopping her impulsion. While starstruck in the moment, Lucky found her will to live and go through her new life without regrets, not bothering to watch her tongue, all the more endearing.

I am a transgender teen.

We are being harassed and murdered.

Kids don't need protection from the rainbow, we need protection from those who want to end our lives and limit our freedom.

Nex Benedict's death is a tragedy. He was harassed, assaulted, and murdered for trying to use the restroom as an Indigenous and trans teen. Nex should be alive. My heart goes out to Nex, his loved ones, and everyone else who has suffered.

Nex Benedict, the world failed you.
