Any Hunter/Dustin cuteness for meeeyah?? Could really use some serotonin tonight <33
I got a whole list of stuff😎
✨️⚡️Power wise⚡️✨️
-They both orient around each other well with fights, Dustin tends to be a little less experienced than Hunter but dude finds a way to add some edge to their situations.
-Started in my AU of the season but I love the concept of the elemental powers combining together. For Hunter and Dustin they can make stardust together because of the earth element's friction and the thunder clashing with each other, crazy in combat but also could work for fireworks✨️
-Sometimes they switch weapons for funsies but since they've gotten so used to each other their fighting skills allow for automatic adaptions(Hunter finds it adorable seeing Dustin yeeting the thunder staffs around⚡️)
-Ever watched Ninjago? If they want they can dance together in a battle to make a spinjitsu like tornado of rocks and lightning that rips apart pretty much any type of matter(well...earthly matter, aliens tend to have stronger qualities but the technique is still useful)
✏️Headcanon wise✏️
-After a rather close call with a motocross session Dustin decided to put up the hobby indefinitely until things cooled down with hesitation. So Hunter insisted that he looked for a new hobby, roller skating, Dustin falls a bit at times but he's got Hunter there to help him.
-Hunter can literally lift Dustin up like he's nothing(Showing that off to Conner who can literally do that to both Ethan and Trent...red's asserting their dominance as a game😂)
-Due to their elemental affinity powers tend to get wild. Dustin slowly branched into using magnetic qualities in earth and with Hunter's electricity the two got stuck to each other for a full week. Also dragging in metal wherever they go, on a different occasion Hunter tends to release static at times and accidentally shocked Dustin while they slept together. He's learned to control the surges so they aren't harmful but still have a lot of stimulation, he's found....other uses for them if you catch my drift(Dustin doesn't admit it but, it feels nice on his skin👀).
-Hunter is one of the only people allowed to call him Waldo, his mom passed away when he was young and the nickname Dustin was her doing, just feels better for those he trusts the most to call him by his real name.
-On days when new video games like Pokémon or Kingdom Hearts would release Hunter would start a thunderstorm to basically make sure only him and Dustin would be able to get the games first at launch. Of course Kanoi told them to stop this as it was getting in the way of classes.
-They don't go on fancy dates when needed, they just like to chill back or spend time wherever as a nice night out, though they do go clothes shopping together with Tori. Blake got a choker once for Dustin on accident and Hunter was very into that so now the yellow rangers wears them every now and then.
-Due to Cam's access to the Morphin Grid he found out about animal spirits and after the season when the zords were destroyed he ended up created the old ones from scratch. However he only had enough grid energy to condense them into smaller forms, similar to the Samurai Folding Zords. Hunter and Dustin's zords tend to fight each other whenever the two place bets on random shit.
-Dustin has a recurring dream of himself being a lion and when sleeping in Hunter's grasp he tends to nibble or even leave bite marks....which in time leads to him waking up and things ensuing between them...rowdiness complaints have been filed to Cam from students waking up at 2 in the morning due to their antics.
-They watch anime together but Dustin had to hold Hunter back when Marah spoiled MHA for him, she's a manga reader.(Dustin had a crush on Dabi but we're not going to talk about that...there are still lightning burnt Dabi posters scattered across the campus, jealousy hunter)
🌩Fluff and etc🌩
-They go to the Bradley parent memorial two times a month and in one dream Hunter got visited by his mom who revealed that she likes Dustin.
-Hunter is still trying to come to terms with himself, there's a bit of internalized homophobia that he has to overcome. Though he's been working out all these problems with Dustin and it's happy to overcome these feelings inside.
-Dustin tends to get emotional here and there so Hunter has found a secret garden within the campus for his boyfriend to vent out his feelings to him.
-a beetle like cat hybrid from the abyss of evil found it's way out during Lothor's return and after dealing with the villain they adopted the creature. Named him Sanoo after Susanoo cause Dustin likes various types of asian mythology, Hunter didn't like him at first but little Sanoo reminded him of childhood so now he's a full part of the family.
-Dustin is rather sloppy when it comes to kissing but Hunter finds its adorable.
-there's a large dragon like plush that they won at a fair hanging on the side of the wall in their room, it's filled with gold and red scales.
-They may...get it on right after a motocross race, adrenaline etc running around in their veins. Cam had to bleach his eyes out when he walked in on something he shouldn't have seen.
-Tori was secretly getting the vibe that they'd get together eventually, luckily due to her things worked out when it came to the first few days of said relationship. Helping them both with trying to get used to each other.
-They had a thing with taunting or getting angry with each other when they first met which led to them kissing after a harsh race. The two didn't acknowledge anything after for a few weeks and then eventually they got together.
-Dustin has a thing with being pinned down but likes to play dumb about it to get Hunter riled up. The fact that Hunter is stronger really excites him, both for this reason and cause it makes him feel protected. It might've been started when he used to roughhouse with Shane but now it developed into something more. Sometimes he even taunts Hunter just to get him going but dude caught on eventually and trust me when I say he's got a good way of using that to his advantage👀
-Hunter's voice also factors into some of Dustin's interest...Marah had to ban the yellow ranger from asking her about specific topics, things he should be dealing with himself(kinks and stuff are reserved for the internet)
-Hunter would never admit this but he'd love to slow dance with Dustin. His mother got him into 80s Japanese music and stuff such as Tatsuro Yamashita and Tomoko Aran's music makes him want to hold the yellow ranger close, maybe even in the moonlight or just even on a random day when they are alone. He told dustin about it and now it's thing they do every Friday, Dustin doesn't think it's weird, he actually finds it cute and that's all that matters to him.
Hope this isn't too much, was thinking off head an bam!

Everyone... Meet Azure the Blue Sheep from Tumbletown! :D My ESMP 2 oc!!!
Tumblr media
Azure is a 24 year old sheep hybrid who currently lives in Tumbletown!
They have a rather friendly and trustable personality, and she is the perfect person to rant to about your worries. Not to mention how loyal he is! Azure can keep secrets to themselves without gossiping to everyone [that's such a skill considering how I am.. anyways...].
All positive personality traits come with some negative ones, and one of those is obliviousness. Half of the time, Azure isn't even sure what is going on.
They go with the flow, trying not to look stupid. Did I mention they often mirror how people act?

Note
It's hard for me to think of questions cause I know so much already xD How about just some random liltid bits :D (Nigel is blorbo, I love him!)
Lil' random factoids I can think of, hmm 🤔
I've mentioned briefly before; he's officially a Scorpio.
His birthday is Nov 5th. 2020
His MBTI type is INFJ.
His blood type is [̵̡̮̈͑̚͜R̷̦̄̾̊E̸̟̍͐͗͠Ḓ̵̨̭͇̎Ă̶̢̭̤̼̈́͌C̸̠̈T̸̨̤̒̊Ḙ̶̬̱̽D̸̮̹͘͘]̶̜͎͚̟̃̀̃. It's red, but if you tested it, it would not biochemically resemble a human's.
The two-pronged tips of his hair are stiff as if they've received copious amounts of hairspray. The ones on top of his head are slightly softer, but seem to revert to their neutral position as if guided by an unknown magnetic force.
Has a slightly yellow discoloration on the left side of his chest (that he doesn't even know about).
The clockface on his forehead does not come off, it's directly wired to his brain. It serves no evolutionary purpose, but does reveal his true emotion; it is a physiological leftover inheritance from Tropy.
TVTrope's definition of an "Ethical Slut", but you knew that 🤣
Would watch Teletubbies ironically.
Generally cannot keep quiet when watching movies, either out of a need to react or to riff.
Can't get drunk, but might be able to get high, depending on method of intake.
Enjoys receiving d*ck pics, Cortex and Tropy DO NOT 🤣🤣🤣
Pansexual. Is attracted to passion and authenticity first and foremost, but is certainly not immune to good ol' fashioned milf/dilf energy.
He is uncertain of his romantic orientation, but most likely somewhere on the aro-spectrum. (what he feels for N. Gin is currently queer-platonic)

Voretober 04 - Depths
Minors DNI
Summary: C'mon, how deep could you need to search under a hammerspace dragon's tail to find her toy? All the way, of course.
Length: 1900 words
Rating: Explicit
CW: vore, unbirth, unwilling prey, arguably rape
"Hey. Tall and beefy. Mind helping me out?" a feminine voice asked.
Daniel looked around; he had thought he was the only person in the room, and his quick glance only made him more certain. Maybe he was losing it-
"Yes, you. Up on this cabinet," the mysterious voice continued. He followed her instructions; atop a cabinet by the door in the back of the room stood a yellow- no, golden dragoness, who couldn't be more than a foot and a half from nose to tail. She was panting, and frequently fanned her wings. Odd, thought Daniel, since the room was, well, room-temperature.
Nonetheless, he approached her. "You're Salic, right? Wait, Sylvia?" he asked. She nodded, and he furrowed his brow. "I thought you were yellow? I've only seen you around a little, though."
Sylvia drummed her forepaws on the cabinet. "Yeah, I'm in heat. Body's trying to attract a mate, hence the shiny. Look, I'm trying to get through it with a toy, but something happened. Can you help?"
A voice in the back of Daniel's head warmed him not to approach a dragon - especially one in heat - and that she might be dangerous, but he tuned it out - she was small enough to curl up in his hands, after all. "I, uh, don't think I'm the right size for a mate. No offense."
A sigh and a growl escaped the dragon's muzzle, though she quickly put her forepaws over her snout and shook her head. "Sorry, just very quickly pent up. No, I'm not looking for a mate. Look, just... the toy I was using is, let's just say, pretty deep, and I wan- I NEED someone to try and find it."
Daniel looked at her, then down at his hands, then back at her, and finally to the slowly-growing clear puddle under her tail. He glanced back at the still-empty room, then spoke up. "Only if there's a sink to wash up in afterwards. I'll help, but I'm not walking around the rest of the day with... dragon slime on my fingers."
"No need to worry about that. Now c'mon, I'm holed up in here. Oh, and leave your clothes just outside the door." Sylvia rose to her feet, shivered, and dove through the cracked-open door. Her head poked back out, right by the handle, to add, "there's a couple days of dragon-in-heat smell in here. Better for them you strip calmly than tear them off - and yes, I have seen that happen."
Once she'd vanished again, Daniel rolled his eyes. Still, just to be careful, he took a small breath by the cracked door. A strong, but very pleasant heat spread through his body. His shirt felt warm and sticky against his skin, and his pants trapped his quickly-erect shaft with a small twinge of discomfort. So she wasn't exaggerating. Daniel again scanned the room; still empty. He found a spot near the door, hidden from view, to stash his clothes, and pulled off his shirt and pants.
Looking down at his erection, still going strong, he crossed his arms and admonished it, "that's a dragon in there; you're getting all worked up for nothing." A jolt of embarrassment shot through him, realizing he was talking to his own penis, so he quickly stepped through the door, closing it behind him.
The atmosphere hit him like a sack of breasts. As the heavy air filled his lungs, Daniel fell back against the door, vision swimming. Through his hazy senses, Sylvia's voice came through muffled and distant; willing himself to not give in and get off, Daniel instead focused on her voice and tried to orient himself again.
"-asn't enough of a warning, huh? I'll have to keep that in- oh, your eyes are focusing, good! Come over here." She had landed on a table in the middle of the room, and laid on her back, hind legs splayed. As though magnetized, Daniel complied, drawn to her slender, supine form. He leaned in, his face drawing nearer, nearer to her alluri-
A tiny, scaly hindpaw kicked him in the face. And then again. Daniel recoiled, and the pain restored some clarity. He rubbed his cheek, but smiled at Sylvia. "Thanks."
"No problem. I think you'll be better clear-headed. Now then..." she trailed off, and gave a meaningful nod towards her crotch. Once again, Daniel looked from her to his hand, and hesitated. He slowly reached towards her, unsure of if he'd hurt her.
"Don't tease a dragoness in heat," Sylvia snarled, "if you're gonna help, get those fingers in me, and if you're not, let me know so I can stop playing around with you!"
"S-sorry." This time, he placed two fingers right between her legs and carefully spread her slit open. As he penetrated her with one finger, he flicked his gaze up to the dragon's head - not like his eyes would be all that useful when he's feeling around. She was surprisingly hot inside, for such a small body, though her already tight grip grew tighter when he pressed deeper. "Are you sure this is safe?"
"Nnnff, yes, you'll be fine," Sylvia forced out, "go deeper."
Daniel shook his head. "I'm more worried about you; you're already tight enough I'm not sure I can go much further, let alone rescue your toy." He tugged his finger back, in spite of her snatch clamping down around it. He rubbed her fluids between his fingers and fought the lust-driven urge to lick them or stroke himself.
The little dragon shot him a little impatient look, then rolled onto her front, tail high in the air. "You're worried over nothing, but here, go in like this, like you're mounting me." Her tail waved back and forth, directing his attention to her clearly needy slit.
Daniel took a deep breath, shook himself free of the warm haze, and slipped his index finger back in. True to her word, Sylvia's body didn't squeeze as hard around it. Soon, the slick heat between her legs was wrapped around his entire finger; he gave it an exploratory wiggle, feeling around for her lost toy, and was "rewarded" with Sylvia stifling a moan.
"Go deeper," she breathed.
"I, uh, can't get my finger any deeper," Daniel admitted. He gently tugged back again, but her body kept a better hold on the entire finger this time.
"So give me your hand! I'm less fragile than you think."
Daniel compared the size of his fist to the width of Sylvia's body. It didn't look good for her.
"Ugh! Please? I need this. Humans don't go into heat, you have no idea."
"...alright. Tell me if I hurt you, though." Daniel said; Sylvia replied with an impatient huff.
Carefully, he slipped in one finger after the other. The dragon's snatch accepted each one with ease, and, with a ripple of her inner walls, even dragged his palm in, leaving him wrist-deep in her hot depths. Still, on the table, the little dragon was awash in bliss, her slim tongue lolling out of her mouth. "Deeper. More! Give me more..." she moaned.
Daniel shuddered, but when he tried to pull his hand back, she clenched hard around it, squirting even more of her slick, slimy juices down his wrist. "That's... look, Sylvia, I don't think I can help you find your toy. So if I could just-" He braced his free hand against her hindquarters, readied himself, and with a loud, wet SQUELCH...
...got his other hand stuck next to the first. The dragon let out a blissful sigh. "No, no, I found my toy. And I suspect this one will last me through my heat..."
Another wave of muscle rolled over his hands and dragged his elbows in. Daniel strained to see past her tail - now blocking most of his vision not occupied by what was under it. Nonetheless, he managed to catch a glimpse of the dragoness's body, appearing completely unchanged from when he merely had a finger in her. He tried to jerk his arms back and away, but managed only to slip on a trail of Sylvia's arousal, falling to his knees before her. Under her belly, Daniel saw, with growing fear, an utter lack of any sign that she had both of his forearms inside her. "How are you- what's- where did my arms go?" he muttered, baffled.
Her tail dropped to press behind his head, bringing his face closer and closer to that powerful heat. "Same place the rest of you is going, my toy..." With an audible shudder, the dragoness thrust her hips back, and everything above Daniel's shoulders was wrapped in a warm, slimy tunnel of flesh. "Mmm, deeper."
The trapped man did his best to thrash around, even with his hands bound in front of him and unable to get any footing. Unfortunately, Sylvia seemed to know exactly what to expect, and that tight heat continued to roll down over his chest and middle. As his hips began to fall prey to her hungry pussy, her hindpaws pushed Daniel's erect shaft against his belly; her claws against the sensitive member proved effective at rendering him unwilling to struggle against her. And to his annoyance, his body once again betrayed him; against his conscious desires, her soft inner walls spurred his hips to thrust against them. Her wet folds pulled in his thighs, his knees, and still all his struggles only built his arousal further.
Around him, though muffled by her body and the constant, lurid squishing noises of her well-lubricated insides, Sylvia's satisfied moan was as inescapable as her pussy. With the wetness and pressure reaching Daniel's toes, the dragon's pleasure was an audible mark of her utter success in fitting him impossibly inside her little, scaly body. Still, all the man could do was struggle against her, or at least try to convince himself that rubbing frantically against her soft, slick insides was struggling.
Suddenly, his surroundings got much, much tighter, pressing in on him from all sides. Hot, sticky juices flooded his nose and mouth while the walls shuddered against him. He tried to pry open some room to breathe, but his arms were similarly locked tight together. It was over in seconds, but it felt to Daniel like forever, before Sylvia's body relented; even then, it was all he could do to gulp down what heavy air he could find, barely able to muster a wiggle in protest.
"Oohhhh, yes, you'll do just fine…" Sylvia breathed, her wavering voice coming from all around him, "just keep doing that, and- well, I'll have to find some way to pay you back."
"You could-" Daniel coughed, spitting out more of the slimy fluid around him. "You could let me out? Pay me back like that?"
"Ha! Ah, no," she refused, "at least, not 'til I'm good and done with you. Sorry, toy, but you're all mine for the next few days. Now then…"
Daniel heard her inhale sharply, and this surroundings started to twitch and clench in around him again. His tired limbs fought to keep him from drowning, lost deep inside the tiny dragon, as his fate for the rest of the week settled into him, and as he was forced to settle into her.

Read-Alike Friday: What an Owl Knows by Jennifer Ackerman
A World on the Wing by Scott Weidensaul
In the past two decades, our understanding of the navigational and physiological feats that enable birds to cross immense oceans, fly above the highest mountains, or remain in unbroken flight for months at a stretch has exploded. What we’ve learned of these key migrations—how billions of birds circumnavigate the globe, flying tens of thousands of miles between hemispheres on an annual basis—is nothing short of extraordinary.
Bird migration entails almost unfathomable endurance, like a sparrow-sized sandpiper that will fly nonstop from Canada to Venezuela—the equivalent of running 126 consecutive marathons without food, water, or rest—avoiding dehydration by "drinking" moisture from its own muscles and organs, while orienting itself using the earth’s magnetic field through a form of quantum entanglement that made Einstein queasy. Crossing the Pacific Ocean in nine days of nonstop flight, as some birds do, leaves little time for sleep, but migrants can put half their brains to sleep for a few seconds at a time, alternating sides—and their reaction time actually improves.
These and other revelations convey both the wonder of bird migration and its global sweep, from the mudflats of the Yellow Sea in China to the remote mountains of northeastern India to the dusty hills of southern Cyprus. This breathtaking work of nature writing from Pulitzer Prize finalist Scott Weidensaul also introduces readers to those scientists, researchers, and bird lovers trying to preserve global migratory patterns in the face of climate change and other environmental challenges.
The Glitter in the Green by Jon Dunn
Hummingbirds are a glittering, sparkling collective of over three hundred wildly variable species. For centuries, they have been revered by indigenous Americans, coveted by European collectors, and admired worldwide for their unsurpassed metallic plumage and immense character. Yet they exist on a knife-edge, fighting for survival in boreal woodlands, dripping cloud forests, and subpolar islands. They are, perhaps, the ultimate embodiment of evolution's power to carve a niche for a delicate creature in even the harshest of places.
Traveling the full length of the hummingbirds' range, from the cusp of the Arctic Circle to near-Antarctic islands, acclaimed nature writer Jon Dunn encounters birders, scientists, and storytellers in his quest to find these beguiling creatures, immersing us in the world of one of Earth's most charismatic bird families.
Sentient by Jackie Higgins
Perfect for fans of The Soul of an Octopus and The Genius of Birds, this book explores how we process the world around us through the lens of the incredible sensory capabilities of thirteen animals, revealing that we are not limited to merely five senses.
There is a scientific revolution stirring in the field of human perception. Research has shown that the extraordinary sensory powers of our animal friends can help us better understand the same powers that lie dormant within us.
From the harlequin mantis shrimp with its ability to see a vast range of colors, to the bloodhound and its hundreds of millions of scent receptors; from the orb-weaving spider whose eyes recognize not only space but time, to the cheetah whose ears are responsible for its perfect agility, these astonishing animals hold the key to better understanding how we make sense of the world around us.
Flight Paths by Rebecca Heisman
For the past century, scientists and naturalists have been steadily unravelling the secrets of bird migration. How and why birds navigate the skies, traveling from continent to continent—flying thousands of miles across the earth each fall and spring—has continually fascinated the human imagination, but only recently have we been able to fully understand these amazing journeys. Although we know much more than ever before, even the most enthusiastic birdwatcher may not know how we got here, the ways that the full breadth of scientific disciplines have come together to reveal these annual avian travels.
Flight Paths is the never-before-told story of how a group of migration-obsessed scientists in the twentieth and twenty-first centuries engaged nearly every branch of science to understand bird migration—from where and when they take off to their flight paths and behaviors, their destinations and the challenges they encounter getting there. Uniting curious minds from across generations, continents, and disciplines, bird enthusiast and science writer Rebecca Heisman traces the development of each technique used for tracking migratory birds, from the first attempts to mark individual birds to the cutting-edge technology that lets ornithologists trace where a bird has been, based on unique DNA markers. Along the way, she touches on the biggest technological breakthroughs of modern science and reveals the almost-forgotten stories of the scientists who harnessed these inventions in service of furthering our understanding of nature (and their personal obsession with birds).

Almost magnetically open-hearted and cheerful, Saesin drew the other younglings to him, infecting a room with his approachable nature and ability to make everyone feel at ease. He made many friends over the years, most of whom still stay in touch although their life paths separate them for long spans of time.
His master, a Knight with a rather more sour disposition to himself, took a young Saesin under his wing when it came time for him to become a padawan. He often scolded Saesin for being informal and overly-friendly which drove him to distraction, however as much as Saesin hated to admit it, his master taught him the values of keeping people at a distance and not showing your hand too quickly.
Saesin spends much of his time among the people, flitting around the galaxy to where he’s needed most, and finding himself useful in helping to solve problems great and small.

Excerpt from The Mystery of Dr. Fu-Manchu, Sax Rohmer, 1913
"Imagine a person tall, lean and feline, high-shouldered, with a brow like Shakespeare and a face like Satan, a close-shaven skull, and long, magnetic eyes of the true cat-green. Invest him with all the cruel cunning of an entire Eastern race, accumulated in one giant intellect, with all the resources of science past and presenti with all the resources, if you will, of a wealthy government -which, however, already has denied all knowledge of his existence. Imagine that awful being, and you have a mental picture of Dr. Fu-Manchu, the yellow peril incarnate in one man."
--Note: this excerpt from the popular novel series of the time does not imply opium here, but in the books, Dr. Fu-Manchu is described as a regular opium user. This idea of a 'yellow peril' becomes more and more popular and opium becomes an Oriental substance, as it can be seen through popular works of the time.--

Unlocking the Secrets of Quasicrystal Magnetism: Revealing a Novel Magnetic Phase Diagram - Technology Org
Quasicrystals are intermetallic materials that have garnered significant attention from researchers aiming to advance understanding of condensed matter physics. Unlike normal crystals, in which atoms are arranged in an ordered repeating pattern, quasicrystals have non-repeating ordered patterns of atoms. Their unique structure leads to many exotic and interesting properties, which are particularly useful for practical applications in spintronics and magnetic refrigeration.
A unique quasicrystal variant, known as the Tsai-type icosahedral quasicrystal (iQC), and its cubic approximant crystals (ACs) display intriguing characteristics. These include long-range ferromagnetic (FM) and anti-ferromagnetic (AFM) orders, as well as unconventional quantum critical phenomena, to name a few. Through precise compositional adjustments, these materials can also exhibit intriguing features like ageing, memory, and rejuvenation, making them suitable for developing next-generation magnetic storage devices. Despite their potential, however, the magnetic phase diagram of these materials remains largely unexplored.
To uncover more, a team of researchers, led by Professor Ryuji Tamura from the Department of Materials Science and Technology at Tokyo University of Science (TUS) in collaboration with researchers from Tohoku University recently conducted magnetization and powder neutron diffraction (PND) experiments on the non-Heisenberg Tsai-type 1/1 gold-gallium-terbium AC.
“For the first time, the phase diagrams of the non-Heisenberg Tsai-type AC have been unravelled. This will boost applied physics research on magnetic refrigeration and spintronics,” remarks Professor Tamura.
Their findings were published in the journal Materials Today Physics.
Through several experiments, the researchers developed the first comprehensive magnetic phase diagram of the non-Heisenberg Tsai-type AC, covering a broad range of electron-per-atom (e/a) ratios (a parameter crucial for understanding the fundamental nature of QCs). Additionally, measurements using the powder neutron diffraction (PND) revealed the presence of a noncoplanar whirling AFM order at an e/a ratio of 1.72 and a noncoplanar whirling FM order at the e/a ratio of 1.80. The team further elucidated the ferromagnetic and anti-ferromagnetic phase selection rule of magnetic interactions by analyzing the relative orientation of magnetic moments between nearest-neighbour and next-nearest neighbour sites.

The yellow, cyan, and dark blue background colours represent whirling AFM, whirling FM, and spin-glass regimes, respectively. The corresponding magnetic structures of the whirling AFM and FM orders are shown on top. Image credit: Farid Labib from Tokyo University of Science
Professor Tamura adds that their findings open up new doors for the future of condensed matter physics. “These results offer important insights into the intricate interplay between magnetic interactions in non-Heisenberg Tsai-type ACs. They lay the foundation for understanding the intriguing properties of non-Heisenberg ACs and non-Heisenberg iQCs that are yet to be discovered.”
In summary, the present breakthrough propels condensed matter physics and quasicrystal research into uncharted territories, paving the way for advanced electronic devices and next-generation refrigeration technologies!

393/ DJ Manny - Hypnotized (2023) good foot funwork title track rly good! my fav i think! it captures what made me fall in love with juke, but stays fresh. "You N You" runnerup fav. also: "Opera" is kinda otherworldly. fun to see!
----
394/ TEMPUS TONIC PHILHARMONIC - FLIPS Vol1 (2021) approaching skeptically… im picky about vocals but also this guy is good. so: "TELEROBOT ROCKAVISION" being familiar with the origs helps me have a fun time "IMPULSE" just a prog journey. hell yeah. "DISECTO" fun take on wobs!
---
395/ LODSB - HELICON 2 (2017) kinda abstract but also not. i rly enjoy the beats within but i do not enjoy the way its organized. like it needs an editor ig? hilights…hmm. specifically 6m into t3. insanely delicious beats. t7 touches all sorts of cool sounds but RE: focus pls?
---
396/ Oriental Magnetic Yellow - 養殖 XO Breeds (1996) feels like a (faux?)live version of a very banger album… …which doesn't rly work for me. esp the vocals. tho i would like to highlight the backing for "Tighten nap". it has an astoundingly 90s-tracker tightness.
---
397/ Unterm Rad - Unfinished Business (2023) this feels like a modern take on the clicky beepy y2k atomtm vibe. its kinda rly rly cool actually highlights? hmm… title track is possibly the hardest one here. try "The Fact Of The Matter" to hear this album's… atonal tones(?)
---
398/ VA - Twonkilation, Vol. 1 (2017) sometimes silly, sometimes banger. "Head Bang" hits both lol "Rubbish" is one of those songs that "goes hard" but is just so silly about it. I'd also like to highlight "Jump Kick". kind of a more serious version of Rubbish lol
---
399/ Remote Guest List - Lonely night lead me close to the edge of enlightenment (2023) softest quietest chill. i love the weird dinks in "Long Exposure". its a very specific feeling!!
---
400/ DJ Shadow - Action Adventure (2023) kind of fascinated with this! it's extremely 80s but not always. "You Played Me" is just an 80s hit. i keep coming back to it lol (idk "when" you'd place "Free For All" but its also a fav) how is "Fleeting Youth" so beautiful
--- December ---
401/ Mistabishi - Suite (2017) alternates between a soft plastic beauty and a hazy haunting dreamscape. subtly emanates late 00s vibes to me. highlights? "Neotame" and "Cyclamate" perhaps

---
403/ Alon Mor - Long Awaited Journey (2017) cinematic to the point where i feel like there's an accompanying movie that im not aware of. the VO stuff though… :\ but. textures. "Presudeos" woah
---
404/ Ikawa - Ikawa I (2023) tracks 1 and 3 are quite nice. both have a distinctly "nighttime" flavor that the even tracks don't. i guess thats what works for me?

Blazars occupy an intriguing spot in the cosmic zoo. They’re bright active galactic nuclei (AGN) that blast out cosmic rays, are bright in radio emission, and sport huge jets of material traveling in our direction at nearly the speed of light. Their jets look curvy and snaky. Astronomers have questions. Does a blazar’s central black hole’s appetite affect the jets? Is there some internal activity in the accretion disk that causes the variability in brightness? Or, is something else at work here? According to Silke Britzen of the Max Planck Institute for Radio Astronomy in Germany, it might be more interesting than one black hole (or its accretion disk) doing its thing. “We present evidence and discuss the possibility that it is in fact the precession of the jet source, either caused by a supermassive binary black hole at the footpoint of the jet or – less likely – by a warped accretion disk around a single black hole, that is responsible for the observed variability,” said Britzen from the Max Planck Institute for Radio Astronomy in Bonn, Germany. The Galaxy with Two Black Holes The idea of a precessing warped accretion disk around one supermassive black hole is interesting because that motion could affect the jets. It also plays a role in those periodic changes in brightness. That effect shows up in some other galaxies, too. But, what else could cause the precession? Britzen and the team investigated an object called OJ 287 to see if it could give some clues. It appears to have two black holes—essentially a black hole binary—at its core. Studies of this galaxy and 12 other AGNS led to the conclusion that jet curvature may provide a smoking gun clue to the existence of binary black holes in galaxy cores. How would that work? It’s complex, but essentially, you have two black holes doing an orbital dance in the center of the galaxy. One black hole is emitting the jet and the other one’s gravitational influence affects the appearance and behavior of the jet. According to Michal Zajacek, who is a co-author of the study with Britzen, it helps explain the jet’s appearance. “Physics of accretion disks and jets is rather complex but their bulk kinematics can be compared to simple gyroscopes,” he said. “If you exert an external torque on an accretion disk, for instance by an orbiting secondary black hole, it will precess and nutate, and along with it the jet as well, similar to the Earth’s rotation axis that is affected by the Moon and the Sun.”  A magnetized radio jet (yellow), precessing due to a pair of supermassive black holes. The larger one is (black) at the center of the accretion disk. It contains warmer (blue) and cooler (red) gas. The white arrow indicates the spin of the larger black hole. The second black hole orbits (orange) around the central supermassive black hole and the orange arrow shows the orientation of its orbital angular momentum. Due to misalignment, torque from the secondary drives the precession of the accretion disk as well as the launched jet (green circle and arrows).  White curved lines indicate radio emission. Courtesy: Michal Zaja?ek/UTFA MUNI Searching for the Black Hole Binaries If this is the case for other blazars, the meandering jet and brightness variability may well be the clue astronomers need to probe for other binary black holes. It’s not an easy task to find the black holes, even though the AGNS themselves are bright, according to Britzen. “We still lack the sufficient resolution to probe the existence of supermassive binary black holes directly,” she said. “But jet precession seems to provide the best signature of these objects, whose existence is expected not only by the black hole / AGN community but also from the gravitational wave/pulsar community who recently published evidence for the existence of a cosmic gravitational background due to the gravitational waves emitted by the mergers of massive black holes through cosmic history.” Britzen and colleagues investigated OJ 287 and other prominent AGNs using radio observations since these objects are bright radio sources. High-resolution studies took advantage of Very Long Baseline Radio Interferometry (VLBI) techniques. This connected several telescopes over long distances to focus in on the very distant galaxy cores. This is the same technique that allowed the Event Horizon Telescope (EHT) collaboration to image the shadow of a black hole for the first time, observing the 6.5 billion solar mass black hole in the galaxy M87. The team also modeled the precession of the jets, plus a factor called nutation. That’s a periodic variation in the jet’s axis of inclination. Think of it as a slight rocking or swaying as the jet precesses. That nutation was also a clue pointing at the possible existence of a second black hole. The team applied the model to the OJ 287 jet. What’s Next? The result seems to point strongly toward the binary black hole action at the heart of this and other AGNS. The smoking guns are the wavy jets and variability of brightness. “Blazar variability in many galaxies might predominantly not be of stochastic, but of deterministic nature,” said Britzen. “It is fascinating to decode the inner workings of this black hole machinery with the help of variability studies.” Britzen and the team hope that this work will lead to further studies of blazars. They suggest in their paper that others will move forward with long-term VLBI observations and studies of the spectral energy distribution of the light from these objects and their jets. Book Recommendations: National Bird Day
The Secret Perfume of Birds by Danielle J. Whittaker
The puzzling lack of evidence for the peculiar but widespread belief that birds have no sense of smell irked evolutionary biologist Danielle Whittaker. Exploring the science behind the myth led her on an unexpected quest investigating mysteries from how juncos win a fight to why cowbirds smell like cookies. In The Secret Perfume of Birds - part science, part intellectual history, and part memoir - Whittaker blends humor, clear writing, and a compelling narrative to describe how scent is important not just for birds but for all animals, including humans.
Whittaker engagingly describes how emerging research has uncovered birds' ability to produce complex chemical signals that influence their behavior, including where they build nests, when they pick a fight, and why they fly away. Mate choice, or sexual selection - a still enigmatic aspect of many animals' lives - appears to be particularly influenced by smell. Whittaker's pioneering studies suggest that birds' sexy (and scary) signals are produced by symbiotic bacteria that manufacture scents in the oil that birds stroke on their feathers when preening. From tangerine-scented auklets to her beloved juncos, redolent of moss, birds from across the world feature in Whittaker's stories, but she also examines the smelly chemicals of all kinds of creatures, from iguanas and bees to monkeys and humans.
Readers will enjoy a rare opportunity to witness the twisting roads scientific research can take, especially the challenging, hilarious, and occasionally dangerous realities of ornithology in the wild.
A World on the Wing by Scott Weidensaul
In the past two decades, our understanding of the navigational and physiological feats that enable birds to cross immense oceans, fly above the highest mountains, or remain in unbroken flight for months at a stretch has exploded. What we’ve learned of these key migrations - how billions of birds circumnavigate the globe, flying tens of thousands of miles between hemispheres on an annual basis - is nothing short of extraordinary.
Bird migration entails almost unfathomable endurance, like a sparrow-sized sandpiper that will fly nonstop from Canada to Venezuela - the equivalent of running 126 consecutive marathons without food, water, or rest - avoiding dehydration by "drinking" moisture from its own muscles and organs, while orienting itself using the earth’s magnetic field through a form of quantum entanglement that made Einstein queasy. Crossing the Pacific Ocean in nine days of nonstop flight, as some birds do, leaves little time for sleep, but migrants can put half their brains to sleep for a few seconds at a time, alternating sides - and their reaction time actually improves.
Birds and Us by Tim Birkhead
Since the dawn of human history, birds have stirred our imagination, inspiring and challenging our ideas about science, faith, art and philosophy. Looking to the skies above, we have variously worshipped them as gods, hunted them for sustenance, adorned ourselves in their feathers, studied their wings to engineer flight and, more recently, attempted to protect them.
In Birds and Us, award-winning writer and ornithologist Tim Birkhead takes us on an epic and dazzling journey through this mutual history with birds, from the ibises mummified and deified by Ancient Egyptians to Renaissance experiments on woodpecker anatomy, from Victorian obsessions with egg collecting to the present fight to save endangered species and restore their habitats.
Weaving in stories from his own life as a scientist, including far-flung expeditions to wondrous Neolithic caves in Spain and the bustling guillemot colonies of the Faroe Islands, this rich and fascinating book is the culmination of a lifetime's research and unforgettably shows how birds shaped us, and how we have shaped them.
The Hawk’s Way by Sy Montgomery
When Sy Montgomery went to spend a day at falconer Nancy Cowan’s farm, home to a dozen magnificent birds of prey, it was the start of a deep love affair. Nancy allowed her to work with Jazz, a feisty, four-year-old, female Harris’s hawk with a wingspan of more than four feet. Not a pet, Jazz was a fierce predator with talons that could pierce skin and bone and yet, she was willing to work with a human to hunt. From the first moment Jazz swept down from a tree and landed on Sy’s leather gloved fist, Sy fell under the hawk’s magnetic spell.
Over the next few years, Sy spent more time with these magnificent creatures, getting to know their extraordinary abilities and instincts. They are deeply emotional animals, quick to show anger and frustration, and can hold a grudge for years. But they are also loyal and intensely aware of their surroundings. In this mesmerizing account, featuring sixteen pages of gorgeous color photographs, Sy passionately and vividly reveals the wonderous world of hawks and what they can teach us about nature, life, and love.
