you're right! marriages between vampires are a lot more sacred than humans and you hear it in their vows that their heart & life belongs to each other. the specifics about how one can escape being linked to another will be discussed in the next few chapters but here's the thing—you can't be linked/bonded by blood and by life to someone else the same way as you are with the partner you've chosen but it doesn't stop one from engaging in any other physical activities with another, say, lover for example.
