In a modern AU with Plants, I think Rem would take a leave of absence/resign citing her need to deal with the loss of Alex, etc., and her coworkers would all sort of breathe a collective sigh of relief until a few months later when she started showing up as a like semi-homesteading, very religious and DIY, vlogger which honestly isn’t really a surprise to the ppl who know her. What is a surprise and a mystery is how she keeps referring to her “boys” in alarmingly inconsistent ways that lead to followers having knock down drag out fights over whether she’s talking about her partners, sons, or two very advanced cats

(After Nai & Vash hide in the bushes during one video and can only be seen as two sets of glinting eyes, votes go up for the cats)
