I loooooved this fic by @omgmussimm and cannot recommend it highly enough.
It broke my heart a little but I forgive it because it was so beautiful and beautifully written. The details perfectly evoke the setting and get you into Aziraphale’s head.
I loved that there’s enough specificity that when Aziraphale references something that happened earlier, you’re not just being told about it but remembering it with him because it was so well described.
My favorite fic I’ve read in months.

everyone meet @omgmussimm's OC Esther, Aziraphale's mesmerizing parallel-universe demonic counterpart. beautifully brought to life in my favorite fic series of all time, the profane comedy, her greatest achievements include personally delivering the Antichrist and Falling for telling Gabriel to fuck off. she's a twelve-time archangel discorporator, white-winged harbinger of misogynists' destruction, practicing Tom Lehrer fan, and overall delightful slice of chaos set on finding her rogue Antichrist and fucking with Crowley's head along the way, as a treat.
thank you mussimm for bringing her into the world and I hope I have done her justice!

Chapter 2 from Time Flies by omgmussimm
“Get ready, angel,” Crowley murmurs in his ear.
The music from inside floats out, a beautiful sonata, underscoring the chatter from the crowd below.
The first fuse fizzes to life, shooting sparks into the starry night.
There’s a hush of anticipation. Somewhere another champagne cork pops. Somewhere a lady shrieks with laughter. The fireworks catch.
The urns pour over with light and heat. Gold explodes into the air, crackling and smoking, lighting up the night incandescent. It keeps erupting, reaction on reaction, they fizz and burst, showering sparks over the immaculate lawn.
Crowley leans forward, closing the last inch between them, and his mouth is burning a line down Aziraphale’s exposed shoulder. He drops open-mouthed kisses to the skin, burning hot, and Aziraphale watches the fireworks shower gold sparks into the air, seeing it on the outside and feeling it on the inside. He’s exploding.
Whatever he might say comes out instead as a whimper. Crowley’s hands are on his waist, his mouth relentless against the tender skin of his neck.
Aziraphale turns in his arms, their hands, their noses seek each other, fumble for a moment, then they’re kissing. He tastes like chocolate and champagne and Aziraphale devours him. There is no pretense, this time, he opens his mouth, lets Crowley in. The night sky explodes in gold and so does Aziraphale.

Good Neighbours, Good Fences (and Other Misunderstandings) by @out-there-tmblr. It’s what it says on the tin: neighbours AU. I love this fic. I think I’ve recced this fic ten times but I will continue to rec it. It’s comfort fic.
Anthophilia by fortinbrasFTW. This is florist/bookseller/remeeting later in life type AU that was written before the show came out and the scene on the rooftop is one of my favourite scenes ever written.
Romancing the Tome by @antikate. Romance novelist Aziraphale meets painter and part time criminal Crowley as he tries to save his sister Anathema and a very rare book. This is just a good fun romp, love it very much thanks. Also see Kate’s ongoing WIP An Ending (Ascent) which is lush and beautiful.
You Might Think I’m Crazy (All I Want is You) by @soft-october-night. Aziraphale and Crowley own shops next door to one another. Features one of my favorite soft realizations about Crowley and also a bit of good fun. Also check out their fic House Style!
Clementine by @omgmussimm. Neighbours by the sea. I love this version of anxious Crowley, who seems not to always realize how anxious he is which I find very true to form. Mostly it’s very soft. Love it.
Untitled Stardew Omens Fic by @brightwanderer. Crowley’s new to town, learning the ropes of rural life, and Aziraphale’s the town doctor. It’s very fluff and sweet and comforting, and a bit about starting a new life.
The Fine Print by @fremulon. I’m reccing this one because it’s Cherry’s most recent longfic and it’s very good - salesman Crowley and client Aziraphale, a little intrigue but a lot of sweetness - but truly she is a Master of the human AU. Also check out the many-venomed earth, a 1930s detective AU!
The False and the Fair, by @princip1914. Ok so this is sort of a cheat because it is a WIP and I have only read the first three chapters. BUT. But. I’m obsessed with it anyway, and the reason I have only read the first three chapters is because I was so blown away I was beside myself, I know Princip is going to reach into my very chest and have a good hard squeeze at my heart before letting go. Read it, or put it on your MFL, or subscribe so you know when it’s finished, but do not miss this fic.
finally I’m going to wrap up on three recs that are sort of cheats:
Gods in the Gaslight by @antikate and @redfacesmiley. Is this is a human AU? Isn’t it? the ambiguity is SO good and so delicious and you need to read it instantly. (ft ambiguous/open ending and angst, so make sure that’s your thing.)
Closet Set by @racketghost. this is not a human AU, and it’s still a WIP however. this is Crowley being turned into a human while he and Aziraphale do everything they can to stop it. To save him. Racket is a genius, the tension is outrageously good, no I am not taking questions at this time.
The Grinch Who Sold Christmas, by me. you asked me for recs so I get to rec one of my own, those are the rules! and this is my only human AU. it’s Christmassy but I think fun anyway.

Lest They Be Flatmates In Disguise by @theoldaquarian (E) - Crowley and Aziraphale have never met before when they decide to let a flat together. Unfortunately, they don’t know the other is occult/ethereal respectively. Their lives are about to get pretty weird when they move in together. Theoldaquarian is always hilarious and while there is only one chapter of this, I am so excited to see where this goes.
Time Flies (When You’re Having Fun) by @omgmussimm (E) - Aziraphale is stuck in a time loop at a party in 18th century France. God this fic is aesthetically lush and sexy and I LOVE IT.
Loosely Ballroom by @mortifyingideal and marginaliadevice (T) - Strictly Come Dancing AU. I think everyone is reading this so I won’t go on at length but it’s a delightful human AU with a wonderful Anathema and dancing and descriptions to die for!
The Grinder Logo Doesn’t Even Have a G In It by @indieninja92 (E) - is it bad form to rec your fic if you requested the list, indie? I can’t help it. I’m obsessed. It’s your typical You’ve Got Mail Identity Porn + amazing banter + footnotes + hot af sexting. I die for every update.
Leave the Light On by killerqueer and venturetrain (E) - Crowley works at a sex hotline. Aziraphale is lonely. The representation of demi Crowley is amazing. And it’s another one for a Great Anathema.
The Marriage of Heaven and Hell by @je-suis-em-jee (E) - They fucked in Eden and accidentally formed an ethereal bond. Will I ever tire of fucking through history while pining? No. No I won’t.
well adjusted, in theory by @emberfaye (E) - Crowley has chronic pain. Aziraphale is a chiropractor. CATCH ME SCREAMING ABOUT THIS FIC. I yell at faye regularly in their DMs about this.
closed set by @racketghost (E) - Crowley and Aziraphale have to make a sex tape. Fuck or die on steroids. Another one I think is pretty universally being read but every update is amazing.
Anatomy 101 by @amuseoffyre (E) - again will I ever tire of them fucking through history? NO. And muse does it with flair and fervor and I scream for updates.
Flowers From Hell by @entanglednow (T) - Crowley grows a flower clone of himself. Sounds weird? It is but like imagine weird in the best way possible. Like trying a food combo that sounds strange but is AMAZING. So sweet and cute and with an amazing flower OC (see I continue to type strange things, just go read it and everything else by entanglednow while you’re at it).
don’t read too much into it by @mllekurtz (M) - INEFFABLE WIVES I DIE. Human AU set in a publishing house and the yearning and love and drama feel so real and delicious
an ending (ascent) by @antikate (E) - 1960s Doctor Aziraphale and mysterious bar owner Crowley. Three chapters so far and I’m obsessed.
And No Birds Sing by @antikate (E) - (sorry Kate you’re on here twice <3) Crowley is stuck in some sort of monstrous form. Aziraphale finds him. LOOK THIS FIC’S ATMOSPHERE IS LIFE CHANGING

A Bit of Crumpet by @amuseoffyre (E) - oh muse I guess you get two as well. FRENCH KISS HUMAN AU! A favorite rom com turned into a favorite ship fic.
Shotgun Wedding by @charlottemadison42 (E) - Crowley and Aziraphale can’t be together unless they get married! A human AU. Another that I think is on most people’s lists and it’s wonderful. One of those slice of life fics that feels deeply cozy.
