Notes on a Season - Devi, Paxton and everything in between
1. Can I just say, it is so freaking good to see POC teenagers being hot and sweet and swoon-worthy. Like, I feel like we're oddly almost taking this for granted but it is amazing to see POCs (and Asians in particular!) being shown as desirable not only to each other but to other people as well and it is NORMALIZED. Gosh, I love this show.
2. I've seen this mentioned on other pages as well but I have to chime in, the music is sooo good! And extra thumbs up to whoever is selecting the music for Daxton in particular, they are absolutely killing it with the iconic soundtrack to this blossoming relationship!
3. I don't know what it is about this season but Nalini's grief was so poignant to me, even more so than last season. She's really become my second favorite character on the show (behind Pax-Man), Poorna portrays her so wonderfully nuanced, dignified and funny!
4. The Grandparents! Oh my were Devi's grandma and Paxton's grandpa the bestest or what? Adorable, quirky personalities that really brought depth to the family dynamics on the show this season. Loved them and more please!
5. Erica and Trent! Just kidding Eleanor and Trent. This was an unexpected but super cute development, I can so see this! I'm hoping S3 will be more of these two and less of the triangle of absurdity, it about time Trent got some love and I'd much rather see this than another season of Devi (unnecessarily) waffling between two boys again.
6. I'm glad we got to see swimming taken away from Paxton. It wasn't necessarily the fleshing out I wanted it to be but it was something. I've always known there are many layers to him, still waters run deep, but it was good for the show to actually SHOW us this. I wasn't wild about Gigi being the narrator but what can you do? At least we got a Paxton-centric episode. I liked seeing him work at being better at school and being so SATISFIED when he accomplished that. That's a really beautiful part of his relationship with Devi, this is his Achilles heel and she was the perfect support and foil for him where he needed it the most. I love that he recognized that and appreciated her for it too. Devi isn't often vocally appreciated by people. I love that Paxton doesn't hesitate to thank her, it must have felt so good for Devi to hear that.
7. The disbelief in Ben's voice when he sees Paxton and Devi together at the prom... that said so much to me. Ben isn't jealous about Paxton/Devi you guys, he's just jealous of PAXTON. His uber competitiveness strikes again. It's actually already present in flashes throughout Season 1 and I didn't pay much attention before. But yeah, Ben's problem is Paxton and how. At this point it's not about Devi as much as it is, just about winning her back *from* Paxton. I bet my future mortgage that's what's going to play out next season. Ugh.
8. So um... that look down that Paxton does just before he kisses Devi outside the prom? SWOOOOON! It's not the first time he does it (he does it slightly too during THE rain scene) but it's really pronounced here and I love it! I wonder if it's just instinctive or if Darren deliberately inserts this into Paxton and if it's the latter I'm dying to know why. It just really works people. Hehehe.
9. I find it significant that we get to *see * Devi first laying her eyes on Paxton. It could've been a throw away line that states the fact but we got visuals! From the get go, she was a goner. And it wasn't even really about LOOKS at that age! Something about him instantly drew her, fascinated her, compelled her. The Paxton thing is deep with Devi. Her running after him and not Ben after her double dipping comes to light makes all the sense in the world within this context. Paxton's the one that's in her dna almost.
10. Okay so I'm biased and I'm a Daxton stan come rain and shine but I really do think they get the most thought through love scenes, not just the music which is WONDERFUL, but also the way the scenes are shot, the cinematography, the lighting, the *time* that's spent on them, it tells me something. I've seen enough tv to know that this type of treatment for a couple isn't random nor is it wasted. Which brings me to, finally...
11. I've seen many a post here on Tumblr talking about a Benvi "endgame". Errr, no. Firstly because while there's no doubt we are going to have any go-around the triangle of absurdity, I see NOTHING that suggests Ben and Devi are going to be the couple that the series closes out with. Nah. There's been far too much time and DETAIL spent on building Paxton and Devi up. There will be detours and roadblocks, Devi and Paxton aren't smooth sailing by any means but endgame isn't in Ben and Devi's future, I'm almost certain of it.

I wanna share sum of my thoughts of Season 2 (warnin spoilers) of Solar Opposites (i already watched it like a couple of days ago tho lmaoaoa)
Ep 1: Definitely my top 3!! I loved the Rich Aliens especially Kabronious💕i’m glad we get another Fem-presenting Alien other than Teri/Vanbi and Jesse, i LOVED the end; family moment with everybody hugging the Pupa ((also, I loved Derryl- him eating Lunch with the aliens and him with Yum laughing and looking at memes made my heart,)) the only part i really didn’t like was Korvo saying that he always wanted Terry and Jesse saying they’re pieces of shit and need him around :// mehh that didn’t feel like the Korvo we knew from S1.. but the rest of the episode was rlly good!! 6/10
Ep 2-4: OKAY definitely all my top favorites, Ep 2 leaning towards the lil Tervo kiss; Ep 3 mostly bc of the lil moments between Alt Terry and Yasmine and Ep 4 because irdk i just enjoyed it a lot :]] My flaw with Episode 3 though is Korvo manipulating Younger Terry into changing to become the “perfect” Shlorpian for him which definitely isn’t what S1 Korvo would do.. with Episode 2 it would be Korvo making Dinner parties illegal even though he knew Terry enjoyed them a lot:/Though it did make up for it ((kinda)) and had an explanation with Korvo just wanting to spend for time with Terry. I can’t say i was disappointed with Episode 4 though- i was only upset at the fact it didn’t involve them actually going to camp lol - ep 2: 8/10 , ep 3: 7/10, ep 4: 9.9/10
Ep 5: 😟😟 i can’t say i rlly liked this episode too much but it made me laugh the most lmao, i LOVED Chris sm 😩💕💕 and Jen [they were a power couple😎yes i’m gonna make them overrated heheh 😼🤙 /j ] I’d say my biggest complaint with the episode would be when Korvo and Chris had [[sex]] 😟 the replicants side story was okay for the most part - 5 1/2 outta 10
Ep 6: it didn’t feel like a full ep imo?? It just felt like a random idea they managed to fit into a 22 min ep :// it was really just them accepting that they’re “bad ppl” and honestly ? 2/10, 3/10 at most
Ep 7: i’m not a big fan of the wall but oh boy did i enjoy The Wall plot S2 !! Cherie being alive made me so happy bc she dragged The Wall plot 😌 and i kinda got a soft spot for The Duke/Ringo,, just when he died too :( 8/10 - 9/10 bc I LOVE LIGHTNING MCQUEEN >:]
Ep 8: definitely the most disappointing one.. 😟it would’ve been so much better if
They actually gave a fuck when Terry died
They didn’t go trying to kill each other bc of some stupid points
If Jesse didn’t brag on how fullfilled she felt after killing Korvo..
The fact that nobody cried for Terry when he died compared to when Terry couldn’t stop crying when he thought Korvo died and when he suggested to work on the ship for Korvo
The only good parts about it was the beginning where they were trying to get fulfilled (would’ve been better if they were trying to get full-filled together as a family😥😥) and the end where they all became Trees :] that scene was aesthetically beautiful 💕💕 but GOD i would literally k!ll (/hj btw don’t attack me) who ever wrote the plot for the Finale like wtf? 😟 BUT from interviews they said that the Christmas special coming at the end of this year is gonna be the actual Finale for Season 2 so i really hope that the ep redeems the so far Finale. 2/10 since it was good up until the end 😟
Overall: Korvo was extra mean this season :( he was mean last season but it made up for his redeeming qualities and still was occasionally nice to Terry and the family- it felt domestic snd nice, Terry didn’t get enough development this season. It sorta felt like they didn’t know what to do with him so they made him the punching bag :/ He did nothing wrong other than being a lovable himbo. Yumyulack definitely got the most development:] but.. bde. Ew. JESSE!! i LOVED her this season and the Father - Daughter (kinda) moments her and Terry hadd; it all fucked up in the finale though. Pupa? Pupa was amazing 💕💕i loved him sm and he forever has my heart

石田お寿司 12/9/21 stream translation Part 9
This is not the full translation of the stream. I only translated the parts I could understand & interpret or parts I found interesting/important. I’m still a beginner in Japanese, so the translations may not be accurate. If you want to repost, please repost at your own risk.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
(t/n: ** means translation may not be accurate.)
I: How are the contents on Sushi’s channel? What should I do on my channel? I thought I wanted to just do as I please with this channel, but are there any contents I can do? I don’t mean I wanna do things to expand my subscribers or do projects (eg. 30,000 commemoration project) for my channel. Rather, is there anything interesting thing for me to do? Don’t youtubers always narrow down the type of contents they make in their channel? Some create sub channels. It’ll be suffocating for me if I do that, so I’ll create any kind of contents that I want. If you guys have any requests, I don’t mind doing it If I feel like it. If don’t wanna do it, I won’t. I think Q&A is a good idea. We’re going back to this topic. Everyone does Q&A, it can fill in the time as well. Ishida Sushi’s special life consultation feat. people die eventually. Something like ‘Special Life Consultation: People Die Eventually.” Hehehe. Something like that. A despair episode. But then, I’d look despair. But trouble consultation is quite heavy. If I received very serious questions then, I’ve no choice but to reject them. I want to answer as many questions as I can, but that kind of question is a bit…I don’t want people to take my words seriously regarding life and death. I don’t wanna be responsible for their lives.
*Someone commented that it’s better to put question box on insta story.
I: Really? They do that there? I see.
*Someone commented the title for the Q&A that Ishida had said and he pinned it.
Ishida Sushi’s life consultation: People die eventually.
I: The title is gonna be something like this. But then, there’ll only be questions related to this kind of stuffs. For example, suicide-related questions. “Don’t do it!” would be the only I answer I could give.
C: Everyone would look despair.
I: You’re right.
*Someone commented that Takahashi Kunimitsu did Q&A on instalive.
I: Seriously?! I wanted to see that! He received 100+ questions? Seems very tiring. I should not do it then. Seriously? Kunimitsu did something like that? I seriously wanted to see it. What kind of answers did he give? I seriously wanna see it! But it won’t be there anymore. Eh, really?! I wanted to see. What did he answer?
C: There’s a part of the live in insta highlight.
I: Really? How to see it? Tell me. I wanna see 2x.
C: He answered my question.
I: I see…
I: That’s nice. I want to consult him. I’d ask something like “People die eventually. What should I do about it?” He’d probably answer something like “Well, just live!” with a small laugh.
*Someone commented you can view the highlight on insta profile.
I: Insta profile! I see 2x. Can I take a look at it for a bit?
*Searching for Takahashi Kunimitsu’s insta.
C: Your keyboard sounds very nice. I also bought mechanical keyboard! (t/n: The comment was in eng.)
I: Yeah! It’s Elecom keyboard! It sounds nice! (t/n: He said this in eng.) I only use fixed keyboard buttons. The keyboard’s fn button is the one I definitely use. I made it fit my thumb. That’s the easiest way for me to use it.
*Someone commented about the adult website comment.
I: It’s here again? Yeah, it is! Thank you. Just let it pass by.
*Going back to searching for Mr. Takahashi’s insta.
C: Sensei, what to do when you’re so depressed?
I: That kind of thing happens. You can’t do anything about it. You can only struggle with it.
C: What made you start Choujin x? (t/n: this comment was in eng.)
*Ishida had trouble understanding the question.
I: Why did I start Choujin X? Is that what they meant?
*Ppl in the comment found Mr. Takahashi so easily.
I: Everyone is very good at searching. You guys searched it on insta? Really? It’s not a different person? I’ve been looking since forever.
*Looking through Osterreich’s insta.
I: How can I go to his insta?! I don’t know how to use insta! Damn!
*Finally found his account through google.
I: Is this it? Seems like it. It’s the real one! “I’m dead.” So dark! What is highlight? Is it this round thingy?
*Looking through Mr. Takahashi’s insta highlight.
I: Is it in writing? I thought he would talk in it. Is this the question box thingy in insta?
*Ishida reading Mr.Takahashi’s Q&A.
I: Let me read this for you guys. Haha. What a bad personality I have. “Have you ever felt loneliness? If you had, how do you deal with it?” “I have loneliness and I do feel lonely, but I don’t necessarily hate it. Being alone is very easy. If I’m in a very hard time, then I’ll call my friends.” So, he doesn’t hate that feeling. Since being alone is easy, he doesn’t hate it. I see. That’s a good answer.
*Someone commented that Mr.Takahashi talked about him.
I: He talked about me? What if he said awful things about me?
I: Ah, he skyped me today. I didn’t realise it. I just realise it now.  Wait, I’m gonna look through his insta.
*Keep reading the Q&A.
I: How about I show this to everyone? Hahaha. He must doesn’t like this! Can I? Hahaha. Wait a min. I’m gonna do the worst thing ever. This is not the worst thing ever. It’s fine. This is made public, after all. If I can’t, then…Wait a min.
I: Alright, I’m gonna expose it. He did this in insta so that people could see it, didn’t he? What do you guys think? Do you think this is awful?
*Everyone commented that it’s okay.
C: It’s not awful, I don’t know if it’s okay to show in on screen.
I: That’s right.
I: Just reading is enough, I guess.
*Keep reading stuff about his friend.
I: Is there anything interesting?
I: “I always watch Ishida sensei’s stream with you in it. I would like to hear you converse with him again.” Is this the one you’re talking about? “It was a good timing at that time. I don’t know whether there’ll be another one. We do hang out in our private time, so maybe there’ll be one.” He’s expecting another. I see.
*Still reading.
I: Alright, let’s do this! Ishida Sushi’s simultaneous worldwide stream. I’m only energetic the day after I finish my manuscript. Only currently. A melancholic day will begin tomorrow.
C: Did you have any recommendations from the movies you’ve watch recently?
I: The one I didn’t watch before, but thought it was fun after I’ve seen it is Truman Show. I think it’s quite an old movie. I think everyone who watches this will find it entertaining. It’s starring Jim Carrey. I remember he went into depression. Has he gotten out of it yet? Jima Carrey is a good actor, right?
*He’s talking about the ending with a fan that’s watched the movie.
I: Everyone, please watch it. The ending is good, isn’t it?
C: Do you watch western movies subbed or dubbed?
I: I watch them dubbed when I’m working so that I won’t have to look at the sub.  When I want to watch it leisurely, then subbed.
*Someone commented about eternal sunshine.
I: I’ve never seen that. I’ll memo it.
*Someone asked about shutter island.
I: I’ve watched that movie. (t/n: He’s giving spoiler, so I didn’t translate further.)
*Someone commented about Charlie’s angels.
I: I don’t watch it. I may have different view on shutter island if I watch in the present days. I was young at that time. I knew the ending so I watched the movie without enjoying it.** There are other highlights beside that, such as Leo’s acting. If we’re talking about Leo, I probably like Catch me if you can the most. I’ve only watched his movies when he’s already an old man. I’ve never even watched Titanic. I’ve only watched the older version of him, like Great Gatsby. I’ve never watched Inception, by the way. I’m thinking of watching it. I only know older Leo. Catch me if you can is a good movie, isn’t it? I’ve read the autobiography. When I read it, I found it to be questionable. I thought it was a fraudulent document. I kinda thought it was a forged document disguised as an autobiography.
*Someone asked about Harry Potter.
I: I’ve watched all of them. They are great, aren’t they? Harry Potter is a famous fantasy-genre masterpiece.
*Someone asked about Ocean Series.
I: I haven’t watched them, but I’m thinking of it. I’m gonna watch anything anyway.
I: People overseas have started joining the stream. As expected from a simultaneous worldwide stream.
C: Do you know SPEC? (t/n: SPEC is a Japanese drama.)
I: Yeah, I do know it.
C: Sirius Black is cool.
I: I don’t remember much about Sirius Black. Even though he played a central role in the story, I basically only remember Professor Snape. I hated Harry’s father to the max. He’s an unpleasant guy. That applies to Harry as well. He’s the kind of person who laughs at people’s failure. But the actor who played Sirius Black, Gary Oldman is cool. And then, I like Malfoy too. Malfoy’s a good character. Though he became a minor character towards the end. I can truly sympathise with him. I like his father too.
*Someone commented about Harry Potter’s Book ver. of Harry.
I: I see. So the Harry in the book is different. That happens.
*Someone commented about Narnia.
I: Oh yeah, there’s Narnia’s movie.
*Someone commented Professor McGonogall.
I: Professor McGonogall. What a name.
C: What manga did you read recently?
I: What was the title again? What manga did I read? But then, I watch movies and read books more than reading manga nowadays. I read the magazine issues as well. I used to be obsessed with Oshimi sensei’s Chi no Wadachi back then. Superior magazine has interesting stories.
*Someone commented Rod was in the chat.
I: Have a nice day. Oh, Rod is here? Hi Rod. Rod is here? Oh, he’s here. Hi Rod. Have a nice day.
*Someone commented that Rod has Saiko’s icon.
I: Oh, Rod has Saiko as his icon. I see. He’s said that before? Sorry. It’s hard for me to catch what he wrote because it’s in eng.
Rod: I will, you too.
I: I will. Oh, it’s true. The icon is Saiko. Did he draw that himself? Did you draw it? It’s a nice icon. I want to include Rod in my manga. Hahaha. I’ll make him an old passer-by in Choujin X.
Rod: Hi everyone.
I: Hahaha. What is this guy? Hahaha. Ultimately, what is he? I can explain him to everyone, but what is he actually? Basically, he’s someone who has been tweeting ‘Have a nice day’ to me for around 5 years. That’s Rod. He’s perhaps a Brazilian. If something happens to him, I wish he’d contact me. If he’s gone, it’ll be too sad. I’ll only offer my prayer to him if that happens. Take care of your health. Be careful of your health.
S******: If the tweets stopped, then something like that must’ve happened.
I: If the tweet didn’t come, I’d be wondering where he is. Then, I’d wait for his tweets for a bit. I tried tweeting him ‘Have a nice day’, but he didn’t reply back. Rod disappeared for like a year and a half. He probably had some mental health problem. He stopped tweeting to me, and then he came back a year after. I thought maybe he’s a bit down. It’s too heart breaking. Don’t you think so? He’s like an overseas friend to me. A pen pal. We’re connected in that way. I totally prefer Rod than Goubaru. (t/n: Their interaction is so wholesome.)
I: There’s a time when I couldn’t contact Goubaru. Everyone (probably the staffs) and I had promised to meet and hang out. We couldn’t reach Goubaru at all. I thought he’s already dead. Since he’s fat, he has a lot of health risks. I thought he might be dead. I thought that it’s unavoidable at that time. I was like “he’s gonna die? I see.” Well, you’ll die when it’s time.
*Someone commented that it’s good Goubaru’s still alive.
I: He’s alive but his some sort of a friend went to see him. There was a response when he rang the bell. That’s how we knew Goubaru’s alive. I seriously thought he’s dead. I thought that it couldn’t be helped because he looked like he’s dying. The rest of us was already gathered at the hang out place. We wondered what should we do. If we went to see him and found his dead body, we had to call the police. We already sent one person, but we wondered if we should send another one. The person who went to see him was a reliable one though. I thought we need to think about the people who already gathered. It’s not nice to just dismiss them, so we played games and had a good time. It was something like that. It has nothing to whether I like Goubaru or not. I was like “what should we do?” I was really scared. I thought he really might be dead.

Joji’s Birthday PriZoom (9/15/21)
Translation of the bonus content is in a seperate post again.
So yeah I never actually fell asleep after the showing haha. Was just lying in bed playing Love Live when I thought well... I got a good 4-5 hours of sleep in before the showing (better than literally nothing like last time)... If I’m gonna be awake I might as well start this while my emotions are raw so I rolled out of bed and wrote most of the below rambly mess.
And then I went to work. Which was kind of surreal. Because for a few hours my brain really was back in Japan again. There was something just a little magic about this showing I think. A lot of things came together (starting with how talkative people actually were during Pride the Hero! Ahh!) etc.
B... ut.....
I guess I’ll get this out of the way first. I was super heartbroken at the low turnout for this one. Only 65-85 people in the cheering room... But it was a weekday, sooo... I’m just going to hope that a lot of people bought the archive tickets to check it out later.... Yes... I have decided that is the case.............
The people who did, however, missed out on the cheering room and thus missed out the latest incident to enter my personal list of all-time favorite moments in this fandom. After Joji’s episode in SSS Part 2 we had some “technical difficulties”... (I put that in quotes because I somewhat doubt it was technical difficulties. I mean, the stream cut out cleanly RIGHT at the end of Joji’s episode. So I wonder if maybe someone just forgot about Minato’s episode and shut it off early hahaha...) and while we were waiting for them to restart the movie there was a long period of silence and a black screen. But us in the cheering room could all still hear each other. .....And someone started singing Brilliant Oath.
It was PERFECT. These are the moments I live for! This is why I’ve been to like over 100 cheering shows and I still KEEP GOING! I love this fandom! It may not have made the archive since the cheering wasn’t recorded for that but it will live on in our hearts.
Anyway...
I guess one bonus to having less people this time was that I actually managed to keep on the soundboard hell... the ENTIRE... TIME!! Although at a low volume. And honestly... I more or less completely stopped hearing it at one point I think haha. So... that kinda defeats the purpose I suppose. Actually no, even if it was just static background noise it was still nice to have on in SSS, which would have been pretty quiet without it. And it was worth it just for the one person who was like SHISHOOOO during one scene in Pride the Hero when Jin was going crazy hahaha (AH! When was it? I don’t remember now...). I also tuned in for a bit in episode 6 and loved when Minato’s sister says her age incorrectly everyone was like EIIIGHT (...that’s not correct either hahah....)
Since I knew this was going to be archived I tried bring my cheering A game to Pride the Hero with moderate success. Kinda mad at myself for missing stupid small things probably no one would care/look for I mean my camera is shit anyway (BUT I--). I’m just lucky it wasn’t way worse because Pride the Hero I can mostly run on autopilot. Out of all King of Prism media, it’s probably the one I’ve cheered the most (I mean it was all we had in theaters for literally like two years), and it was fresh in my mind from Minato’s showing too. So even with how exhausted I was, I made it through! (Then proceeded to take micro power naps on the floor during episodes 4 and 6.......) I also kinda wish I’d changed my background earlier. The show started before I got around to changing it and I was like I’ll change it during a break (........Pride the Hero has no breaks........) haha but yeah. I had Okayama station up from the Prism King Cup onward and the Momotaro mailbox up during SSS. The real background MVP though is the person who appeared to have up the bench in rural Okayama where Joji made his promise to Miyo!? I mean it looked kinda different because it wasn’t on a bridge but that HAD to be it, right!? (!!!??)
Also cosplay at this showing was amazing! We had like 3-4 Miyos, 2 Aces, KOKORO!? (and Taiga. Because who are we kidding there’s always a Taiga)
Also shoutout to the girl who cosplayed as... the PIECE OF CLOTH Joji sewed for Miyo!? (I think she was at both showings but I didn’t fully realize what she was supposed to be until the Playback Allstars at the very end hahah...)
And shoutout to the Ace cosplayer “singing” during all of Joji’s performances haha!!
And the person spinning in an office chair whenever any character was twirling around...
But BIGGEST shoutout to our own @takadanobaba who was somehow THE ONLY Joji cosplayer in the cheering room!? (The only overall for the first show, but another joined in the text-only room for the second show.)
I was SO HAPPY when Tatsuyuki Kobayashi noticed you!! RIGHT!?!? He was like “Oh and there’s someone dressed as Joji!” and you were the only one!!! He didn’t even say anything about the people dressed as Ace!!?! Haha! I wasn’t trying to do anything to get his attention (I wouldn’t know what to do anyway, and besides he’s not the kind of person who works the crowd like Masashi Igarashi does so I wasn’t expecting much) so having him notice you was a huge surprise and honestly just about as good!! AHHH!!!
But the concept of this showing was a little awkward ‘cause it’s like, as a fan, do you appeal for Joji or Ace? Tatsuyuki Kobayashi was maybe a little conflicted about how to act too. First he said he was coming as himself, but then he backpedaled and slipped into Ace being tsun when pulling the birthday crackers for Joji heheh.
But yeah, we’ve got to give him a break, he’s just so happy to have his own character finally. I’m happy about how happy he is to be Ace! But like honestly... Not like I’m necessarily complaining but... This showing ended up being almost exactly the same as the Ace one pfffthahah!!! I mean he mostly just talked about being Ace and went over a lot of the same things. Like being the surprise guest at the MRS concert, etc. I think he may have said this before too, but when he originally recorded Love Mix, Ace didn’t exist yet so he didn’t really know who he was supposed to be singing as and just tried to sound like a sparkly idol. And I’ve always felt that! Like I think his voice changed or evolved between Love Mix and Joker Kiss into being less generic idol/Joji and a lot more Ace.
OH!! I don’t think he said this at the other one (but for some reason it sounds vaguely familiar?). He was talking about how he knew of King of Prism and actually went to shows before he was cast in Pride the Hero. And after he was going to a Pride the Hero show and Sugita (Joji’s actual voice actor) was on the escalator behind him. HAHAH.
I LOVE stories like this because... okay like, when you go to a theatrical cheering show there is always this introduction video where they talk about cheering manners. And they warn you not to say anything mean because “you never know, a star might be sitting next to you.” And to know THAT’S ACTUALLY TRUE SOMETIMES.... JFLSJDLJG. I mean, I’ve only seen King of Prism in Tokyo a handful of times so it’s probably never happened to me. Actually I guess... technically... this show and the last one DO count because Masashi Igarashi and Tatsuyuki Kobayashi were watching with us before and/or after their segments and probably listening in!!! (Still, I guess the point is it’s nice to know the voice actors actually do go in their private time, too.)
Oh, one more shoutout I forgot about to the person I think had a big red car with Joji and... a bunch of Jin mochikoros in the back!!? They rolled it by the screen so fast why hahah.
And it was great to see Joji’s 2019 birthday video again and confirm it wasn’t a fever dream. Hopefully I can grab that from @takadanobaba when the archive goes up in a couple days (it will be a quick and easy translation!).
Okay that’s it.....
DO THE PRIZOOMS
Or at least buy the archive tickets and watch later
(but they are expensive and it’s not the same)

Fanfic asks: 5,14 and 17
Hehehe, well that was fast!
So this is from THIS post. Feel free to ask me more, everyone!
5 - What’s a crackship you love?
Ooooo, this is hard! But I’d have to say Kaladin/Happiness :P
14 - (For authors) Post a line of dialogue from one of your WIPs without context.
Lea, you’ll know this one! ;)
But suddenly that memory shifted, lingering not on the endless days of torture he had endured, but rather turning to that first day where the woman he had used so heartlessly had come to him, concern for him written on her face as he sat in his lonely prison, rubbing his shoulders after an entire night hanging from the ceiling by his wrists.
I swear to you I’m actually working on this! Just...very slowly! :P
17 - Describe a fic that is still in the ‘ideas’ stage.
Okay, okay, okay, okay, so this isn't fanfiction but original, and I need to tell y'all a bit of background first!
So ages ago I was watching an episode of “Who Do You Think You Are?” and Reba McEntire was one of the guests. Turns out one of her ancestors was from England and came over to the Americas when he was a young boy to be an indentured servant. This wasn’t an uncommon thing for families to do back then, actually. Too many mouths to feed, loss of a spouse or a job, or other such things would mean parents couldn’t support their kids, so they shipped them off to the New World in hopes of a better life.
The show also shared some some details of what an indentured servant’s life was like back in the 1700s and it was NOT good! The contract would usually be good until the kid was a certain age, so often times the person who bought their contract changed it to make them younger (turning 11 into 10 or a 9 into an 8, etc.) to get more usage out of them. And the contract itself was pretty cheep, but it was when their servitude was OVER that the owner had to pay up the big bucks, giving their now-free servant some money so they could live their own life. So it wasn’t uncommon for indentured servants to not make it out alive. 😬
So my story is about one such boy, who suddenly found himself with only one parent who couldn’t afford to keep him. He’s able to survive his servitude (though not through lack of trying on his master’s part), live his life, start a family...and then the Revolutionary War happens. And remember: he’s a British kid turned into an American man. Things are interesting for him, and get even more convoluted once things get under way!
I’m SUPER excited about this one but there is a LOT of research I have to do to make this work because we’re talking historical fiction here! But still, this story lit a fire in my and I have a feeling that whenever I get this thing done, it’s going to be good...hopefully!! hehehe

Okay, if my calculations are correct, I should be able to finish the season before daybreak! Just, fyi, you guys are gonna have to deal with my tired deliriousness. Enjoy!
Tumblr media
Mirror, Mirror
Hmmm, I wonder what’s gonna happen in this episode (and totally not just because I saw that one gif)......
Aww, that drawing is so cute!
God, that’s one squeaky pen-
Eugene and Cassie are such children and I love it.
Pfft, she’s drawing everyone being pissy at each other-
“So let’s just have some fun with it- LANCE IF YOU DON’T STOP WHISTLING I WILL THROTTLE YOU”
Yo, guys - don’t go into that house.  It is way too Wonderland-y to be safe after that whole bird ordeal.
Smexy French Man™️
Oh yeah, he’s susp...
He is jokingly calling her the genius of the group, but, to be fair, she kinda is... Like, their group isn’t real heavy on the brains in comparison to their skills as fighters.
Thank god she said his name because I did not understand it when he said it.
“I never use one word where two will do” is the absolute embodiment of the french language
Yeah, forget what I said about Raps being the brains of the group if she can’t see that this is a bad idea-
Uh oh, mirror zombie
So it’s another personality switch episode then, but this time with mirror zombies taking over
What the hell?!
Pfft, I love how the tipping point showing that they are imposters is just shorty acting like a normal person
A bit extra, Raps-
pfft, “UNCLE MONTYYY”
NotLance giving commentary is golden
FSJGKGN THE GUARDS’ MIDDLE NAMES ARE JUST “THE”
Yeah that’s not Cass-
WHAT DID I SAY?
OH SHIT OH SHIT OH SHIT HE CALLED HIM A CHAMELEON
Okay yeah, NotEugene was pretty good-
Yeah no, NotEugene is right. I’m not at all surprised.
Sassy Cassie~
“Fitzherjerk”
Okay yeah YOU GUYS share the same mind, but clearly the real people inside the mirror don’t
Yeah, I tracked the real Raps, and she is totally still outside the mirror
Oh hey yeah, the real people have NotRaps
Oh my god NotRaps sucks at being Rapunzel-
Yeah dude, show us
I was waiting for her to get even scarier, then I remembered this is a kids’ show
I bet the dude that lured them in is also an imposter
HAHAHdasjhdfak EUGENEEEE
OHOHOHOHO~
This is so weird...
Yo what if Pascal is a fake haha
So this inn will be the backdrop of the next few episodes, okay
AN AXE?!?! Oh, so the dude lured them in...
Yo, I commented that they couldn’t make NotRapunzel even scarier because this was a kids’ show, but this episode was lowkey kinda terrifying anyway haha.  It was fun, but not super notable.  I’d still take it over other episodes any day.
Tumblr media
You’re Kidding Me
Well, seeing as this is a magical universe and knowing how the tangled writers like to name episodes, I’m gonna guess this is an age regression episode starring one of the members of the Tangled Crew as a babysitter!
OHHHH ‘PREVIOUSLY’!!!
haha, he goes invisible when he sleeps
Coming from anybody else but Shorty, that comment confusing a seashell with a comfier inn would be a cutting remark and a savage burn.
Aw damn, the door...
What-
DOGGIES!
I like Cassie refers to the rest of them as “The Adults”
Awww, Raps is so cute~
Haha, they’ve drawn in Cass
Oh no-
Lance is an egg
I don’t know why, but the sight of a baby with a beard is really unnerving
Mommy Raps!
Heheh, this is so pure and funny-
DUCKY!!!
Poor Pascal lol
Why is Shorty younger than Lance and Cass?
Oh wow, he just responded to me-
The older you are the younger it makes you?  What happens if you were to use it on Vex, Varian, Red, or Angry?  Would they age up since they’re already “kids”?
s t o p  z a t
They literally act no differently than normal-
Yeah but... Rapunzel is still talking down to them? She’s just doing so in a nicer way.  The key is to treat them as equals while still keeping a flexible hold on them in terms of demands.
Just answer the dang questions, Fitzherbert.
DUCKYDUCKYDUCKYDUCKYDUCKY!!!
Fuque offe, Matthews.
Hehe, doggies~
PUPPIES!!!!!!!!!!!
Awwww~
Oh so this dude works for Hector. Dope!
This was such a fun episode! It made me smile because kiddos and puppers and duckies.  Also, Raps and Eugene putting up with the kids’ shit was really pure and fun.  Just like: “why are you just sitting there” “the floor is acid” Seeing as this was a character episode, I liked it a lot.  9/10 - could use more Duckies uwu

Before we get married - Episode 8
Tumblr media
Here we go again.  I can’t stop watching so instead of doing what I am supposed to do, I binge watch.  I know it’s a mistake since the episodes are not all out and that I will be miserable until they all are but well.
An episode of Before we get married isn’t a good one without a little fighting between Weiwei and Kehuan.  I think she’s still angry from the previous night when she had to take Kehuan home and uses work as an excuse to fight with him.  So much love between the two of them.  I love how Kehuan is still so confident about the fact that she likes him and that she confronts him and keeps saying that she will soon be married so she can avoid her feelings for him.  This little boy is sure quite omniscient to know all of this.
Anyways, what up next?  You guessed right on spot.  Say hello to crazy Ziyuan.  She just got a job as a wedding consultant and OF COURSE her first clients should be Weiwei and Haoyi since the proposal was in front of her and they sold the house to them and blablabla.  Weiwei is definitely not interested in such service, but in the end, she doesn’t really have another choice than to accept.  She’s too kind sometimes.
In the middle of the night, Maizi calls Haoyi to come out.  All the team is partying at a KTV because a company is interested in their product.  So they are all moving to Shanghai to work.  Yay!  I know somebody who will be so thrilled about it.  What do you think?
When Weiwei wakes up the next morning, Haoyi is cooking breakfast for her.  Here’s one thing we all know : if your boyfriend makes breakfast for you, he has something to apologize for or he wants to celebrate.  Here I think it’s a little bit more of the first case.  When she asks him why his boss called him so late at night, he even lies to her.  Since he doesn’t answer properly, she switches the topic to the wedding.  Oh Oh...  He tries to make the plans change by saying maybe they are rushing a little the wedding, that it’s unfair to Weiwei.  Just then, Ziyuan calls to plan a wedding dress try on. Haoyi has to work overtime again, so he can’t go with Weiwei.
Ziyuan probably became a wedding consultant on purpose to be on Kehuan’s feed.  She posts a picture about how she’s taking her client, Weiwei, to try wedding dresses. Kehuan immediately runs there and Ziyuan chose a pretty revealing dress for Weiwei to try, I guess she wanted to make her look vulgar in front of him.  But then, he just thinks she is stunning and he hurts that she’s trying dresses to be Haoyi’s bride.  I can’t help but hurt for him too.
Kehuan grabs Ziyuan and tells her to stop meddling in Weiwei’s business.  She’s unhappy that Weiwei is more important to him than she is, even though they were together for ten years.  Anyone else tired of hearing her talking about how long they were together?  It was 10 years of his life too, you don’t need to bring it up again and again, I think he knows.  Anyways, none of this was good, Kehuan is upset, Weiwei is upset, Ziyuan is upset.
And because we are never upset enough, when Haoyi comes back home, he tells Weiwei he has been promoted and that he decided to move to Shanghai and then postpone the wedding for six months.  Weiwei doesn’t feel happy about it and it can’t get through Haoyi’s head that maybe she doesn’t like for somebody to decide alone about her own future.
At night, Haoyi wants to have sex with her and he is quite insistant with it when she tries to push him away.  He’s like we’re about to get married, it’s okay even if you are pregnant.  Well good one girl, no one wants to have a big belly for their wedding and moreover, he made you mad, before he tries to have sex with you, he should at least make it up to you.  AND SHE’S CRYING AND ITS YOUR FAULT.
Oh... why isn’t she dumping him earlier?  It’s about time.
At work, Dawei spreads rumors about Kefei, saying she slept with many man at Guoxin (which would be Kehuan’s company).  Weiwei and Kefei comes in the meeting room just then and get angry with him.  He also badmouths Weiwei, so Kefei pours her water on him.  Just then, Kehuan drops his cup on the floor, but won’t help more than that the girls.  But scary Jessica comes handy and makes Dawei apologize.  I love her.
Weiwei tries again to get away from the project but, Jessica won’t allow it.  After the meeting, Kefei and Weiwei are out talking when Kehuan joins them - Kefei told him where they were.  She also tells him everything about Haoyi having left for Shanghai.  Weiwei gets upset because she told him everything so Kefei leaves the two of them alone.  She’s being a nicer friend than in the beginning of the drama and i wish Weiwei would listen a little bit more to her.  But well, they have a nice little talk the two of them.
At night, when Haoyi gets ready Weiwei is blatantly ignoring him.  Then he gets a call from his dad who wants to talk to Weiwei.  So Dad is trying to comfort her and apologizes instead of his son for being like he is.  I think she is touched by how much Dad cares for her, but she’s really upset that Haoyi uses his dad to smooth talk her.  The next morning he leaves in a hurry and Weiwei is hurt for him not saying he will call everyday.  He just promises to come back in two weeks.
At work, Weiwei has to accompany Kehuan for a business trip.  Kefei tries to get in instead of her, but Jessica makes the two of them go with Kehuan.  On the way, Kehuan’s car breaks down so they have to take the bus.  Since there are only three seats left, Kefei arranges that Kehuan and Weiwei sits together.
When they finally get to their destination, Kefei wants to go to the toilet.  The butler told her to use whatever which one she wants to use.  She ends up in one that a guy is showering in.  Can I talk about how much it’s a nonsense that somebody would just shower with the door open?  Anyways, she take a peek, but gets caught and she ends up sitting on top of the guy.
Ends up the guy is none other than Dawei.  His uncle is the chairman  they are supposed to meet with.  Unfortunately, his departure from Japan was delayed so he couldn’t be there and asked his nephew to take care of the guests for him.  He will be back the next day, so they should stay a night at his estate and wait for him.
I really pity Weiwei for being abandoned in such a way by her fiancé.  Lately I am starting to dislike very much Haoyi and I really don’t get why does she still hangs on to that relationship.  It’s just so toxic.  The guy isn’t treating her with respect.  It’s just destroying whatever they had in the past.
And I kept from saying so since a long time but... can somebody change the summary of that drama?  Everywhere I go, it always talks about how Kehuan is so in love with Ziyuan and that they are soon to get married, but before the middle of the drama they are broken up and they never were engaged.  The drama really doesn’t have thing to do with the summary.  If you are curious about it, don’t trust that summary.
And that’s it for episode 8.  Episode 9 seems to be interesting, in the previews we get a really nice kiss between Kehuan and Weiwei and that makes me happy hehehe!

Episode Eight: Electrolocaust Now
[KFAM music]
Sam: Good evening King Falls, you’re listening to 660 on the radio dial, and I’ve gotta tell you, we’ve got a  heck of a show this evening. We’re paying tribute to King Falls musical legend and Ben's old boss, jazz meistro Chet Sebastian. We’ll be discussing 40 years of-*static, sound of things powering down*
B: What the hell?
S: What’d I touch?
B: I don’t think it was you.
S: Sorry ladies and gents, it seems we’re having a slight technical difficulty here. Um, yeah, hey my computer’s down Ben.
B: Mine too. Sammy, I dunno if they can even hear us. We might be out out.
S: Well okay then, uh, we’re live and we’re winging it folks.
B: Au contraire my friend. You should know I’ve got a backup plan, and a backup for the backup plan.
S: Uh huh.
B: Let me just pull out the trusty smartphone aaaaand…
S: And?
B: It’s off.
S: Well, good thing you’ve got a backup for this.
B: It’s...an expression. We’re flying blind, Sammy. Check your phone.
S: It is off, uh, lemme guess, the ghost, sorry, apparition,-
B: Thank you.
S: Of Marconi just visited the station just decided to start yanking wires.
B: Maybe Merv forgot to pay the electric bill.
S: The lights, the mics, it’s not electricity, this is selective. But, y’know, thanks for being so cheap and old, Merv. It may have spared 660 from the wrath of skynet.
B: Yeah, the board’s lit up, and so are the phones, I don’t get it.
S: King Falls, have you gotten whacked by this random and seemingly mischievous power outage? You’ve heard our story, let’s hear uh, wait can they hear us?
B: Good call.
S: I don’t understand why some of this stuff is working, and some of it is out. What’re we doing, Ben?
*quiet buzzing in the background*
S: Now’s not the time to go rogue.
B: Radio’s are working, Sammy. We’re live
S: Well, you’re hearing our story right now King Falls, let's hear yours. If you’ve got a phone that’s working, give us a call or tweet us @kingfallsam.
B: Can’t check the twitter.
S: Dammit. *sigh* Let's take a call, Ben.
B: But, the schedule?
S: Dude, what schedule? The one locked in the computer that’s zoinked out, or the one that’s locked in our iphone that won’t power up?
B: Damn your logic. Line 1!
S: You’re live on the air with Sammy and Ben, hope you’re well on this weird ass evening.
?: Hey Shotgun!
S: Hey man. What’s your name again?
?: Not important, I just wanted to check in with my favorite AM radio host, and tell you you’re coming in loud and clear on my end. Loud and clear! Heheh. Am I on the air?
B: You’re live, sir.
S: So how’re things in your neck of the woods? Any technology issues, things not powering up and on for you?
?: Not a problem in the world, Shotgun. Heheh.
B: Is he going to keep calling you-
?: Shotguuuuuuuuuuun Sammyyyyyyy.
S: *Sigh*. Was there anything in particular you needed?
?: That’s it. Love the show. Shotgun Sammyyyyyy!
*hangup noise*
B: What did you do in your past life, Sammy?
S: You don’t even wanna know.
B: *sigh* Line seven, good evening you’re on King Falls AM.
Doyle: Hey Ben, hey Sammy, you dudes doing okay up there?
S: All things considered we’re doing well, and who’re we speaking with?
D: *stoned sounding laughter* Oh, this is Doyle. Doyle Bevins, out in Hollybrook Estates.
B: Hey Doyle, you having any issues with your computers, smartphone, what have you?
D: Oh yeah, about five minutes ago all my toys just shut off. TV, ‘puter, phone, sounded like a transformer just shut down.
S: Oh! So you had a transformer blow up by you? Could that have caused that way up here, Ben?
B: I-
D: Oh no, no, nothing like that. Like it was Bumblebee powering down, like uh kachuhuh, kachuhuhuh.
B: Oh. Right. Regardless, Hollybrook is a good five miles outside of town, I dunno if that would have hit us.
S: Doyle, thanks for calling in and letting us know what’s going on with you.
D: Oh, sure thing bro, but that’s not why I called.
B: Oh, uh, okay?
S: What’s on your mind tonight, Doyle?
D: Well, before all this new age funky junk started, I was having some really crazy stuff going on here in the apartment.
S: Crazy stuff, what kind of stuff?
D: Supernatural stuff.
B: I got nothing, I’ve never heard of anything going on in hollybrook.
D: *stoned laughter* It is insane, Ben. It’s like I'm living in some sort of cybertronian spacecraft.
S: Cybertronian? I'm not familiar, Ben?
B: It’s a transformers reference. It’s not real.
D: Hey. It’s real, Ben.
S: Can you give us an example?
B: Without referencing a Mike Bay movie.
D: Sure thing bro. So, I got this toaster, right?
B: Mmhm.
D: Sometimes, late at night, BOOM! It’ll pop up the scariest damn thing you ever laid eyes on.
S: So it makes the noise like when the bread is done?
D: Ghost toast boys. It pops, but ain't nothing there.
B: Doyle. *long pause* We’re gonna take another call.
D: Ohoho, not good enough for you Ben? Not spooky kooky enough, huh? I’ll do you one better.
B: You’d have to.
D: Sometimes, late at night, my fridge start making this scary humming noise, like hummmmmumumumum-
S: Doyle.
D: Humumum.
S: Doyle.
D: Hummumumum *clears throat, coughs*. Ahem. You get it.
S: Doyle. Are only experiencing this phenomena with your appliances?
D: Can, can I finish Sammy? Is that, is that cool? Can I finish?
S: I'm sorry, of course.
D: Alright. So like I said, it’s just a herming, so I sneak in the kitchen, all vatican assassin like, and I fling open the door, acrackachow! Ain't nothing happening boys. Mayo and mustard just looking to me like they wanna hop on a sandwich.
S: Alright, Doyle. We’re gonna take another call. Please be careful out there, with the appliances and such.
D: Hey, do you all want me to make you a video and send it? *scoff* Duh, maye the electronics are zapped so I can’t prove it, man? It’s a big old vicious circle, bros.
*hang up noise*
B: Dear god.
S: Take care, Doyle. Line 9 you’re on with Sammy and Ben.
?: Long time listener here. Second time caller.
*hangup noise*
S: Nope, not tonight. I don’t want that. Lets go ahead and take line-
B: *drawn out throat clearing noise*
S: Yes, Ben?
B: *sigh*, Uhhh, we, we uh, we need to play an ad, Sammy.
S: Play an ad? You know the computers are off, right?
B: Mmhm.
S: Don’t look at me like that. Don’t even think it.
B: God. *singing* When you’re hungry and you know it come to Rose’s.
S: No.
B: *still singing* If you’re starving and it’s showing come to Rose’s.
S: Ben, please.
B: *still singing* We’ve waffles and cranapples-
S: Ben!
B: I’m just trying to make sure the clients get their money’s worth.
S: I understand that, but you know there’s no better way to do that then talking about just how delicious Rose’s Diner can be. Personally, I'm one for the country breakfast. What do you get down there at Rose’s?
B: Uhm, well it’s a fact that you just can’t beat Rose’s fresh donuts.
S: And from what Troy’s told us, they make a mean bagel as well.
B: I’ve been going to Rose’s all my life. Never had a bad meal there, not one.
S: Y’know I can’t tell you how many times I’ve stopped by for a great meal and good conversation. So if you’re in the neighborhood, just passing through, or wanna feel at home away from home, stop by Rose’s Diner. Right off the interstate.
B: Exit 44.
S: There you go.
B: You’re good, and I'm hungry. Man I could go for the signature pancake puppies.
S: Whatever stops that singing.
B: Okay, please, I’ll, uh, I’ll have you know, Mr. Sheffield cast me as the lead in King Falls high school’s rendition of Grease
S: Alright Zuko, let’s take some calls. Good evening, you’re on with-
*static, feedback*
B: Tim!
S: Can you hear us, Tim?
*feedback fading*
Pete: Sorry, sorry, let me turn my radio down.
S: False alarm.
B: What do you want, Pete?
P: This isn’t Pete, my name is...Escobar. And I want to tell you that this is the absolute worst broadcast in the history of radio. You two oughta be ashamed.
S: We’re just trying to make the best of a bad situation, Pete.
P: Escobar.
B: I thought you weren’t ever listening to King Falls AM again, Pete?
P: I'm not listening...I'm assuming.
S: Well, you know what they say when you assume something, right Pete?
P: Esss-cooo-bariiita.
B: Don’t you have some mowing or clipping up to do up at Beauregard’s manor?
P: Racist! You know dang well no one goes up there after sundown. Ese.
B: So you admit your employer is a vampire. Hmm. Interesting.
P: I didn’t say, I didn’t, I didn’t say that. I just don’t wanna whack a weed that ain’t a weed. Ben, start living right. All that scary stuffs frying your brain.
S: Pete. Escobar. Do you have a reason for call-
P: Alright, pushy. Alright, you know what, I swear I ain't listening to you ever again, you browbeating ruffians. Nunca, nunca I tell you.
*hang up noise*
S: It’s gonna be a long night.
*sound of equipment powering down*
B: Look at the phone lines, we dropped all the calls. Line one? Hello? *silence* You’re on with King Falls? Nothing. We can’t fill four hours like this, Sammy.
S: I’ve got an idea. Give me your keys, Ben.
*sound of Sammy getting up*
B: This can’t be good.
S: Be right back.
B: Sammy. *moment of silence, followed by a door opening and closing* *singing* Stranded, at the drive in, branded a fool. *in normal voice* Yeah, I still got it. Okay folks, just, uh, lemme just check to see if our regular phones are working. Make a little call out. What’s this, a rotary phone? *dialing* Yeesh. *still dialing* *ringing*
Emily: Hello?
B: Hey Emily, it’s Ben. I hope I didn’t wake you?
E: Not at all, I'm listening. What’s going on with the show? And the electronics?
B: I know, right? I just wanna make sure you are, oh, uh, hey, we’re live by the way.
E: As live as can be, right?
B: Right. But yeah, I just wanted to make sure you were okay with all the weirdness happening tonight.
E: I'm fine. Thanks for thinking of me. Good thing I’ve got a landline, I guess.
B: If you didn’t, I would have had to come over to check.
E: Oh really? That’s an interesting thought.
B: Um. Yeah. Y’know. To make sure that you’re safe and sound. Like a gentleman.
E: Oh, of course.
B: Oh, uh, so, the other reason I called, um, in all your studies or research, do you ever recall any kind of electronic or, or, electromagnetic pulses here in the Falls?
E: Not to my knowledge. Obviously I’ll dig more into this later today at the library, but it’s new I think. Lucky us.
B: Lucky us.
*door opening and closing*
S: Alright, what’d I miss?
E: Hi Sammy!
S: Hi Emily. Hope you’re doing alright tonight.
B: Hey, I’ll call you later, okay?
E: Sounds like a plan.
B: Night! *hang up noise* Don’t look at me like that, Sammy.
S: I didn’t say a word. Crazy power outages and electrical malfunctions. Do you call your mom first? Your brother? Nope. you call your local librarian, Emily Potter.
B: So?
S: So it’s cute.
B: Whatever. What’re you up to over there?
S: Well, this is a record player borrowed from Mr. Chet Sebastian's office. This is not how we planned the evening, but, thank you Chet.
B: And?
S: Well, I figure since our fancy new high and mighty tech is out, that we’ll just have to bring back some old trusty reliable stuff to pass the time.
B: It’s a little telling that most of our broadcast equipment hasn’t gotten shut down.
S: Merv, take a note. Upgrade our WKRP radio shack so we can take a night off when everything goes belly up, huh?
B: Lemme mic that thing up.
S: Alright ladies and gents, you’re listening to King Falls AM, that’s 660 on the radio dial, with me as always my cohost Ben Arnold and this, this is a little Chet Sebastian jazz to help you through this weird ass night. Thanks for being a legend, sir.
*jazz music played on a record*

Hej, Idk if you're the right person to ask, but let's see ;)- I don't really get why it's basically canon (especially in fic etc.) that Isak is a Biology expert/nerd, and in general really good in school. I mean, yeah, we're seeing him studying Bio with Sana and saying 'sounds easy!'(/s? tbh, imo), but why is it that everyone assumes that he's a far above average student and that he will almost certainly study some Biosciency sh*t? Did I miss the point where this was introduced in (real) canon?
hiiii, it’s funny because you sent me this ask a while back while i was writing a hc in which i mentioned isak having good grades hehehe
so, why do i think he’s smart and gets good grades?
okay let me call this…..
WHY IS ISAK TOTALLY A SMART COOKIE: A MASTERPOST
it’s pretty obvious that isak cares about his grades. when he is first introduced in the first episode of season 1, we see him ask eva and jonas what grade they got on their essay, and he personally gets a 5 (the highest grade you could get being a 6, or 6+?). and i think isak is a bit more of a science guy (as we see later on in s3), so him getting a 5 here was good. and just, the way he asks his friends what grade they got, i personally think this is something people with good grades do, it’s something i’ve seen happen a lot throughout high school. and i think you need a certain level of confidence when it comes to the grades you get in general in order to do that. there’s a bit of competitiveness (that is not mean-spirited imo) in the way he acted, and once again i doubt that someone who doesn’t get good grades and/or doesn’t care about their grade would behave like this
in the second episode of s1, when they play trivial pursuit in the cabin, you can tell he seems to take the game seriously, in the way he asks questions, his tone when he does, as opposed to jonas who acts like his usual, chill self. you can sense the slight competitiveness once again
in the third episode of s1, when eva and jonas and isak are by the window in the staircase, and they’re discussing an assignment, isak makes a point of letting jonas know he’s right, he even shushes him at some point, and then he says “i should’ve gotten a 6 on this”. isak is unsure about a lot of things, but i think one thing he knows is that he’s a good student, he knows when his assignments are worthy of getting a good grade
i know that these scenes in eva’s season were meant to show us some of eva’s struggles, how she wasn’t doing too well at school, how she wasn’t necessarily book smart and how her friend and boyfriend sometimes teased her about it, and how it made her even more insecure, i know that was actually the main point since this was her season, but i still think it also let us know that isak was indeed a good student and a smart boy
fast forward to isak’s season
in the second episode, you see him arrive to class early. the room is empty except for another student, and that student is studying and i know in this scene we basically see isak stalking his new crush even bech næsheim, but i actually think that isak usually does this regularly, show up to class/school a little early to study and do assignments. i think it’s an environment in which he concentrates better, and i think this partly has to do with how, in comparison, his house wasn’t a good environment to concentrate and study because of everything that was going on with his parents
in the same episode, when he “argues” with the ignorant and islamophobic teacher who called sana’s hijab a niqab, i do think he was sort of trying to distract her from thinking of the weed sana had just hidden (which was also smart, quick thinking), but i do also think this was isak being faced with completely wrong information, a fact that he knows is 100% wrong. he knows what a niqab and a burka are and he knows what a hijab is and he knows that the teacher calling sana’s hijab a burka and then a niqab is completely wrong, and he speaks confidently when he corrects her, because he knows he is right about this
in-between ep 3 and ep 4, there’s a text conversation between him and sana in which he asks her for her physics notes, because he has a test two days later. i think he might’ve forgotten about the test because his mind was filled with even even even all weekend because of their almost-kiss last friday. but still!! doesn’t mean isak is not going to do well in that physics test, no way he’s going to let that happen. so he asks sana for her notes, because he trusts that they’re good, and he even asks her if she remembers the questions from the test since she took it the previous week. he doesn’t ask her for the answers, just the questions, because he knows he can answer those well by himself. and this conversation is just another proof that isak cares about getting good grades, and he doesn’t want to risk getting a bad one
in ep 4, the moment you mentioned hehe. you can tell from this scene that both isak and sana are good, studious kids, that’s just the vibe you get from the way they’re sitting with their textbooks opened, and i think that’s done on purpose. it’s still the beginning of their friendship, and they still have a lot to learn from each other, but i think we’re meant to see them as a good working team. they didn’t chose to be together in that class, but still, they work well, because they’re both such good students. and yes! the little “sounds easy!” that comes with a wink and a cheeky smile. once again, you see that confidence he has when it comes to schoolwork, like he knows. he understands the material well, he’s not intimidated by it at all
in ep 5, hjernen er alene, you can see how brilliant isak’s mind is. isak is not just book smart. isak lies in bed with the boy he likes on a saturday afternoon and he starts talking about parallel universes and the immensity of the universe and how small they are in comparison, and he just finds it so interesting, he says so, and there’s so much wonder in his voice, and you can tell it’s something he finds himself thinking about a lot, and he’s excited to share those thoughts with someone he likes. isak is the type of boy who will let his mind wander and think of the universe and all its components, and all the things he knows about it, the things he’s learned, and use that knowledge not just in an academic context, but also to cogitate, reflect. and this is something i think he does a lot more since he’s met even, because as he said in the last episode of the season, he was “fake” before, i don’t think he let himself be that boy who thinks of space and thinks of different theories as much as he does now, but now he’s learned to be himself more, to let himself think the way he wants to think. and even is just so interested in everything he has to say, and he listens so attentively, wants to hear about his thoughts, and remembers those thoughts
in the sixth episode. poor isak who’s just going through so much and who can’t sleep. and he goes to see the school “doctor” and he asks her if he could maybe be prescribed sleeping pills because he says the lack of sleep is starting to affect school. isak knows how he usually performs, he knows he can read his textbooks and listen in class and he knows how much he usually understand, but right now he’s just not sleeping, and there’s too much going on, and he notices how it’s starting to “affect school”, and he doesn’t like the idea that it does, and he doesn’t want to let that happen. it’s important for him to be able to do well
in episode 7, isak and sana are in class together, and they have that little debate about which answer is the right one. and he says “i read it last week”. which means that a) isak is a good student who does all his readings b) he remembers something he read the previous week, he remembers that he’s read it the previous week. and he tells sana “trust me, sana. i trust myself, and it’s a”. once agan, he’s confident that he has the right answer, he knows that he does. isak doesn’t doubt his ability to answer correctly. and he suggests that they google it, to put an end to the debate, and sana tells him he’s unsure, and he tells her that no, he isn’t unsure and he knows that he’s right (and he was right about this! we found out later on that his answer was the right one)
in episode 8, after spending the whole weekend with even, at last, isak didn’t do one of his assignment, so sana catches him doing it at the last minute in class, like literally at the last minute because the teacher asks them to hand it in at the beginning of the class. but isak still manages to write something really good, because we find out later on that he’s had 6s all semester in that class
later in that same episode, even wants to go over to isak’s place to Do Things, but isak needs to study for his physics test, and triiiiies to resist even and to tell him that he can’t be with him right now, he really really needs to study. but he fails, when even tells him “he’s going to go take a shower now”, but he tries! he does! because studying for the physics test is important. and the next day, the boys all want to go get pizza, but isak refuses to skip class to go with them. magnus asks him to just take someone else’s notes, that he can learn the material by himself, but nope, isak tells him he won’t skip class, because “research shows that you learn more by attending class”
in episode 9, isak is not doing so well after the hotel scene, thinks even never really loved him. he skips school because he simply can’t go right now, but he still texts sana and asks her if she can hand in his assignment for him. he’s really not feeling well, but he still takes time to do school work and makes sure he hands it on time, because once again this matters to him
in the last episode of the season, in minutt for minutt, i think we once again get to see how isak is not only book smart, and how he also possesses emotional intelligence, in the way he speaks to even, in the way he handles the situation. actually, we also see this in o helga natt, when isak chooses the words he tells even so well, when he chooses the perfect words to tell him right then in that moment. du er ikke alene. and in minutt for minutt, he also choses the right words. he listened to sonja’s advice. he not only listened, he understood. and when even tells him he’s going to end up hurting isak, isak tells him that an atomic bomb could be dropped on them the next day, and that worrying about the future is not what they should do right now. and that they are going to play a game, “isak and even: minute by minute”. he listened to sonja’s advice and applied it but at the same time he gave it his own touch, because once again he understood, and he knew what the right words to say were, he felt it in his heart. and just, throughout that whole week, when even is not doing well, isak is just very caring and understanding, and he wants to learn, and make sure he is there for even the way he should be, the way even needs him to (just the right amount, and the right way)
finally, last clip of the season, in isak’s kitchen when sana comes and joins them, and even asks sana how isak is doing in biology, and she jokes that “he’s useful”, and you can tell that what she actually means is that isak is really good, a really good classmate (and friend!) to have. and isak gets all offended, like he does so often, and makes sure to remind them that he’s had 6s all year in biology (we get it, isak, you’re the master of biology)
so YES, i think there were multiple little moments letting us know that isak is smart, both at school and outside of it :) i think this boy has such a brilliant and fascinating mind, and an amazing and big heart and i’m sure he has a very very bright future ahead of him 💝

Hiveswap Episode 1 Reaction Part 15: Second Strife + Trophy Room Exploration part 1
Dammit, it's been two weeks since we last had the time to play some more Hiveswap.
Before we started I knew it was going to take a pretty long time, knowing us, but still.
Oh well, no use complaining about it, let's just continue where we stopped last time and continue enjoying it in the same way as always!
After all, last time we just went through some really exciting things, what with exploring the basement and getting our very first strife!
Next up, we were going to see what Joey and Jude have to say to each other. After that, I assume we're going to the trophy room, perhaps immediately going into our next strife? Or is it about time to be Jude for the first time, maybe?
Let's find out!
plainWonder's got a great point that this is a great game to be playing for the upcoming Halloween now, hahaha!
Starting at 8:20 PM now.
Pffffff, I love how Jude's immediately speculating that it wasn't Joey who turned the power back on. And immediately afterwards he's complimenting her on her wilyness, haha.
Hmm, so yeah, Jude's reminding Joey/us that we need to go to the trophy room to get the attic key.
But... how are we going to deal with the problem in there? Another strife comin' up?
I mean... assuming there's a monster inside the trophy room and not something else? Considering the fact that we didn't actually see it and Joey just heard some stuff.
Or maybe we get another distraction before we end up there?
I love the narration when examining the basement door. YOU'RE MORE OF A SNAKE THAN IT IS. XD
Okay, exiting the kitchen and moving on to the trophy room then!
...Oooooohhhhhhh, right! We can now see the living room in the light! Gosh it looks so much less creepier now.
Alright, enough of that. Let's see what happens at the trophy room! Will there be another cutscene?
....A short one!!!
Yup, there's another monster in here! And looks like Joey could enter this time because it was no longer right in front of the door.
God that is a pretty weird looking monster. But a considerably smaller one than the serpent monster and perhaps more easier for Joey to handle!
Oh man, plainWonder's right that the house motif is also in the strife music! That's really cool!
Anyway, now we're getting a way better look at the trophy room!
It actually looks quite a bit smaller (both in length and width) than I expected, when we saw it in the dark!
What caught my attention first is the two katanas. They immediately remind me of Bro's katanas. I wonder why Grandpa had them?
And hey, some actual guns in here! Both in the trophy case in the background, and on display right above the katanas.
Pfff, another clock (on 11:11 of course) with a swinging pendulum.
And of course, one of Grandpa's precious globes! Which, like plainWonder pointed out, have got some pretty weird continents on them. Is it perhaps supposed to be a globe of prehistoric Earth, when the continents where shapped differently or something?
It would be interesting to examine that globe later on.
plainWonder just noticed the fireplace! Heh, just like in the foyer in Jade's home. Fortunately enough, this one doesn't feature a stuffed human corpse in front of it. xD
Nor is there any urn to be seen, like at John's fireplace.
Which brings me back to wondering what happened to Ms. Claire after her death. Did she get a proper burial, perhaps? It would be interesting if we could visit her grave in Hauntswitch or something!
Hey, a chess board! That's an especially interesting thing to notice here, considering how closely Homestuck is linked to chess metaphors. Talking about that chess board... it has no chess pieces? Hmm, that's weird!
My theorizing mind is of course immediately wondering if there's some metaphor to get from this empty chess board, but let's not dwell on this any longer, for now. :P
Aaaaaand of course some more deer trophies. God, this home is going to be one giant hell for Dammek, won't it? xD
Up above, near the ceiling, we've got some more interesting things. A talking fish, a sad-looking bear trophy, another narwhal trophy like in the basement, and... a white bird with a black wing? That last one is especially remarkable, it doesn't really fit in that much with the other trophies.
plainWonder's probably right that it's just a type of bird that has black on top of the wing and white on the bottom, but still.
I can't help but think of the white and black wings of PM and Jack Noir here.
Alright, wow, that's enough examining for now!
Let's get into this strife! And hope Joey is capable of handling this one.
Oh!!!! plainWonder's got a great point that the narration is pointing out that the monster looks HUNGRY! That could be a hint that we need to use the pet treats here! That's a sweet catch and sneaky hint.
Let's first try out some other items then.
Flashlight > Monster: WELP. That didn't work. The puns keep getting me though. xD
Tap shoes > Monster: Yikes! Looks like the monster can roar. That's pretty scary.
Looks like this monster is really good at blocking moves!
Batteries > Monster: I love how that battery slid back all the way to Joey for her to pick up.
All-Season Magic Spice Mix > Monster: Okay, so that doesn't do much either.
I guess it's up to the pet treats then! :D
And maybe doing that will give us a hint on what to do next.
Pet treats > Monster: Yup, he swallowed the treats! ...It didn't really do much though, but it was definitely the right combination, considering that the cursor changed to orange just like last time.
But what do we do next? Do we use the spice mix again, or something else?
...Nope! Not the spice mix.
Let's just try attacking then, with the flashlight, tap shoes, or ballet slippers?
...Huh, none of the above are the correc actions!
Do we need to give it even more pet treats? xD
....We do!!!! I didn't expect that.
So this time Joey didn't throw it right in its mouth, but to the floor. It made the monster move to the right! That's interesting. Maybe plainWonder's right and we're just going to chase the monster outside and shut the door, so we can examine the trophy room?
Pffffff, the target symbol has become a chomping mouth now. IT IS HUNGRY AND WANT MORE FOOD. :mspa:
Oh hey, examining the monster again now gives a different narration! Oh yes, time for dessert, hahaha. I wonder if there was another piece of narration after the first time we used the treats too.
AHAHAHAHHAHAHAA, that was amazing. The monster indeed left the trophy room, and we got a wonderful victory & level-up scene, hahahaha.
The victory music and Joey's pose reminded me of John's victory dance/music after defeating the Imp, hehehe.
I didn't expect the leveling up part! I love how it's a spoof of Echeladders on one hand, and on the other hand also a spoof on stats in other video games where it actually makes you stronger in a way, whereas in Homestuck and now also here in Hiveswap it's mostly an excuse for sillyness, hahaha.
So okay, looks like Joey closed the door after the monster left the room, that was a wise decision. :P
Let's start examining some stuff in here now!
First of all, I just noticed how that knight's arm fell off and is lying on the ground. Anyone else immediately thinking of Jack Noir's missing arm here? xD
Oh wait, totally forgot that Jude and Joey got some more things to say to each other! Let's see. Because yeah, where even IS the attic key in here?
....Pfff, Jude simply refuses to tell where the key is. Wonderful. :P
Where even is Grandpa's desk that Joey's referring to here?
I doubt the key is in the armpit or in the glove of that knight, hehe.
....OH HELL YES. Jack Noir reference secured right there.
Ahahaha, it's a "little out of season" for equipping the armour. And also a little the wrong century, I think. ;)
Batteries && Knight armour ==> My first thought was that this was perhaps referencing those chess creatures on the Battlefield that are loyal to the White Queen and White King, but oh my god, plainWonder's got a far better point that this is probably referencing the Imperial Drones and their loyalty to the Condesce!
Well played, writers. Well played.
Pogs && Knight armour ==> I only realized how funny Pog Epoch sounds after I said it out loud, hahaha.
Cherub Key && Knight armour ==> HMMMMMMMMMMMM... Joey's considering that there might be stuff hidden away inside the armour. Is this a hint that the attic key might be inside the armour after all? That's something to keep in mind.
In any case, none of the other item combinations really hint that we could do something to it. So let's move on then, for now!
...Is it just me or is the narration on the lioness head a reference to B2 Jack? Eye sockets that beckon for something to be inserted into them instead of actual eyes, a head detached from its body? That sounds suspiciously like how B2 Jack got the billiard eyes and how he died in Collide. :P
Batteries/Pogs && Cat head trophy ==> ...Huh, what's Joey going to put inside those sockets? In any case, she didn't insert the batteries nor the pogs, and I doubt she'll insert the pet treats.
...Oh god Joey's going to find some billiard balls in this trophy room somewhere, isn't she?
Cherub Key && Cat head trophy ==> HMMMMMMMMMMMMMM... Is this just a sneaky reference to Lord English's connection to both the Cherub motif and the empty eye sockets that got filled up? Or is this hinting that Joey's going to insert something red and something green in here (red and green billiard ball???).
Anyway, this mysterious note looks like a good place to finish for tonight. Getting pretty tired here, and it's 9:30 PM already.
Next time we'll explore the rest of the trophy room, find something to put in those eyesockets of the cat head trophy if we're "lucky" (D:), and perhaps find the attic key.

Jaleel White played Steve Urkel on 'Family Matters' for 9 years — here’s what he’s up to now
Most people remember him as the lovable geek next door, but Jaleel White been in many other shows since "Family Matters" went off the air. We spoke with White, who currently stars in the CBS series "Me, Myself, and I," about what it was like playing Steve Urkel and what he's been up to since the days of TGIF. If you're feeling nostalgic, "Family Matters" will be available to binge on Hulu start September 29, 2017. Following is a transcript of the video.
"Did I do that?"
Hi, I'm Jaleel White. People know how I ended up on that show. It was a guest spot that turned into a 215 episode journey.
"Family Matters" was a show that we shot in front of a live audience. It gave you a very theater feel. You got pumped and jacked like an athlete taking the field.
"Hehehe..."
"Hi Laura, my little sweet potato."
I've lived all of these episodes, so people literally sometimes will quote episodes to me in the streets, and I'm like I can thumb in my head pretty quickly and be like, "Okay, season 4." "No, that's season 3. That's season 5."
"As my grandma once said when she overcooked our noogies, tough noogies!"
What's cool and relevant, though, about "Family Matters" is that I guess we're dropping on Hulu. People still appreciate the work and somehow, in a really weird way, it's being appreciated even more with time. So it seems to be aging like wine right now. Whereas it wasn't aging like wine for a while. It was just there.
"There is no Steve here. I'm Stefan sweet thing."
You're always going to have some similarities with your characters. I mean that's just bound to happen. Steve Urkel was unusually athletic. You know, I was athletic. So that was something that we added to the character that was intrinsically Jaleel.
I would have tried to be an athlete, but I don't have an athlete's body. I'm not 6'8" with a wingspan that, you know, reaches all walls of the room. I would have definitely hovered around the sports community. Maybe even ended up in marketing, or as an agent, or something like that.
I think everybody goes through ups and downs in their life. But the most profound impact on my life was the birth of my daughter. I think I was born to be a father. It helped recalibrate a lot of my life priorities.
My daughter is a YouTube kid. So my parents have tried to foist "Family Matters" on her. And she'll watch it, and she thinks it's funny because I'm talking in a high-pitched voice. But she goes right back to her YouTube.
Being a dad, I barely have time to watch the shows I want to watch. I enjoy more of eclectic stuff. Like the food shows you'll find on Netflix and stuff like that. I'm not so much of a "Bachelor" guy.
I just became a working actor really after "Family Matters." Everything from "Dreamgirls" to "Boston Legal" to NCIS" to "CSI." You name it, I did it all.
My favorite probably out of all of the jobs though that I've worked were "Total Blackout," which is a show that I hosted for SYFY, and my guest appearances on "Psych."
"Now we just have to find the perpetrators who did this evil deed ..."
"And kill them."
"What?"
"And bring them to justice."
"Man, what's wrong with you?"
"Psych" fans are legit fans. They are not fake fans. They love you today. They love you forever. They just have a rabid cult following.
"With my looks and your brains, we're unstoppable."
Sonic was this job that I took when I was in high school that I didn't even want really. I was leaving the set from shooting "Family Matters," and instead of going to play basketball or what not, I was going to a recording studio and doing about 100 episodes of "Sonic."
When I look back on it, I'm very happy. I had no idea it was another legit hit on my resume. So nothing but love for Sonic the Hedgehog from me.
You know, for us to be 20 years removed from what "Family Matters" was, and here I am with another family series on CBS, I just feel honored to be a part of the transition.
And I play Daryl on "Me, Myself, and I."
"You're living in my garage."
"Rent free!"
"So I no longer have a man cave."
"No, you do. There's just another man living in it."
It's a really, really fun and unique half-hour premise. That's why I was drawn to the role. It's not something you would typically see on CBS.
With Darryl, he's very focused, upbeat, positive, and about getting his money and keeping the train on the track. And so I'm looking to bring that to the screen.
And I know that's a part of my personality as well.
It's gonna be good nostalgia for other people. Just with the storytelling in itself. All this 1990s stuff that the show's going to explore. But, for me, it's a look back at a journey to say, "Wow, I'm still here."
