On the way to work one day, I was thinking about what would happen if Kuro never became a vampire. Turns out they'd become a politician LOL.

Ramblings about this under the cut.

Okay. OKAY. SO. Kuro was born in the 1590s, and well, WELL, there's not a lot in English about the 1500s and 1600s in Japan when it comes to things like, say, FASHION. Doesn't help that Kuro grew up in Hirado and I only have a few books and articles about that time period there in English. It's very frustrating. I also only have a couple books about fashion, but they're all in Japanese and my reading is at super beginner level and what I'm sayin in, if ya'll got any books to recommend, PLEASE do because asdkjhasjkldh. Thankfully I'll be going over to Japan for the first time later this year and I got all these museums and places to hit up for research cuz that's just who I be I suppose. I am determined to find more books and material to bring back. I want to understand this stuff better, even if like 90% of it never sees the light of day.

Oh, also like HEH. Kuro and their wife, Momoko. First set is their public appearance and second is private attire. Let me just paste this here:

In 1609 (or was it 1606?), Kuromitsu left both their home and betrothed, Momoko, to study medicine around the world at the age of 16. The trip was planned to last about 10 years. Upon return, Kuro and Momoko would wed. During his travels, she came across stories of immortal monsters, and thinking how such a thing would impress nobility, followed the leads to Vlad. This is how, at the age of 19, Kuro became a vampire and everything went to shit. That being said, I thought, what if Kuro never met Vlad? Well, the result is that they’d arrive home safe and sound, wed Momoko, and work their way into the Courts. In public, he and Momoko would play their expected gender roles, but at home in private, they could both present how they want. That’s the source of these two drawings!

Also Kuro, even when human, is still fond of hanging all over those she loves who are taller than him. Cat behavior perhaps? I think so.

i've been trying to fight off my artblock for a while now since it's starting to build up again so i went and did the one thing that helps me overcome it, which is redoing all my OC's ref sheets

and of course, i had to do Momoko's ref first!! comparing this one to the last one is crazy but i am so happy with how her improved design came out!! just some small changes really does change a lot!! especially with her magical girl outfit, i am finally happy with how it looks now!!

i also added her color palette at the top to make things a lot easier for myself and others, with the order being skintone, eye color, hair color, casual clothes and magical clothes!! i did leave the reference free of any rendering as well for color picking as well

After the events of Shippuden.............

“You wanted to live with me!?” Momoko was shocked, moving backwards. She had settled into Konohana for the sake of Lotus and since it was her home; she would’ve continued being a nomad if it weren’t for him. The thought of staying in a single place used to scare her, but only one man moved her heart enough to make it comfortable.

“Well… it was merely an idea…” Gaara spoke, clearly flustered that he had uttered such a thing. He kept his hand to his mouth, showing he had been thinking on this subject for some time. 

“Gaara!” Momo yelled out, grabbing his hand as she yanked him into her. She showered his face in kisses, struck with glee. “I’d… I’d really love that!” She shoved him into her chest, squealing out with joy. “But, mm, Lotus needs to stay in Konohana… and Orochimaru needs me to help out with Mitsuki sometimes… among other things...” She deliberated, rubbing her chin. Gaara couldn’t put together anything; he was overwhelmed by his partner. Each time he was able to touch her, it was like being struck by lightning. Momoko stood there, tilting her head.

“Then again… Lotus says I’m too over bearing! And he is a teenager, I’m sure he wants to get up to trouble like his father did.” She thought aloud, laughing. “Okay, how about this!” She pulled Gaara’s face up by cupping his cheeks, kissing him in between her cleavage. “I visit the Kazekage’s home every other weekend… for business and of course… pleasure...” She cooed, practically purring at him. Gaara audibly gasped, staring up with awe. 

“I am deeply flattered you’re considering this, but if it causes too much trouble-” Gaara tried to apologize, interrupted by a finger on his lips.

“I am a trouble maker, and this? This isn’t troublesome at all.” Momo reassured him, smiling as her kiss met his lips again. “It MAKES ME SO HAPPY!”
