a demon adept in mimicry who escaped from hell and slaughtered a magical girl. she wears her skin and uses dark magic to preserve the image of her host in order to trick unsuspecting victims.

in her mimic form, she uses a variety of weapons to dispose of innocents she doesn’t deem “worthy” to inhabit. her favourite is the chainsaw due to its messy tendencies. being stuck in hell for hundreds of centuries and only now escaping to the surface, she is fascinated with man-made weaponry, and finds it satisfying to kill humans with their own creations.

in her true form, she has sharp misshapen teeth, sunken eyes, long thin hair, sharp horns and claws. she is not made to be comprehended by humans, so to mortals, her body is a thin, constantly altering and pulsing mass of black vines. this is used to disorient victims.

gaia’s mimicry can be identified by the blurry/muddied, almost glassy eyes of her hosts. she has yet to find a way to disguise eyes properly. this detail is almost unnoticeable to mortals, however to other demons and hunters from hell like lynne, its very easy to spot.

as gaia is a runaway sinner, she is actively being hunted by lynne. however, despite lynne’s orders, she seems to have formed a strange bond with gaia. whether it is genuine or simply a form of deceit to lure in and dispose of the mimic is unknown.

some facts/info bits about erida and gaia since i kinda want to expand on their characters more..

- gaia is more 'expressive' in the sense that she is just a lot more lively and showing a bit more variety of emotions as opposed to other members of her species (and erida for that matter..)

- erida was pretty much the least duskull-y duskull when she was a kid long before she met dusknoir.. not really being familiar with her own body and biology just kinda did it to her.

- the 'exploding stuff with her mind' on gaia's bio wasnt just a one off joke, she just has a hard time maintaining her psychic abilities so it comes off as small bursts with enough power to probably blow up a cup if ever so happened to occur.. (she got more proper control over it over the years but it still happens. so.)

- erida kept a VEEEEERY long distance between everyone at the guild to the point where people mistook gaia as the leader. she got over her distancing tendencies after the fogbound lake expedition and built a more confident personality after the whole apple woods incident. (and she distanced herself from everyone INCLUDING GAIA yet again after dusknoir did the future-napping thing. youre not gonna believe why that is.)

- i already said this but gaia was generally more self-conscious about her appearance since people would usually think that shes a bit too freakish when she was a baltoy and that would only get worse when she evolves.. erida comforted her about it and told her that she would always have her back if people got too comfortable saying that and that she will never be a 'freak' to her. gaia may or may haven't developed a small wee crush on her that same day :)

- erida was generally a lot more serious and somewhat stoic even as a human and some of that mightve rubbed off on grovyle long before they got separated..

- i think manaphy was genuinely the unintentional cataclysm that kicked off erida's identity crisis and her own self-loathing when it came to how she felt like she was gonna be like dusknoir. she and gaia knew theres a difference between a kid almost dying by accident in their care and intentionally making two kids trust and care about you before stabbing them in the back with killing intent but like. a kid was about to die. both of them were only in their 20s-25s back when that whole thing happened so. yay.
