Maybe when/if she ever retires from solving mysteries and going on adventures she might develop a preference for times and drinks. XD

☁️ CLOUD - a soft headcanon

A soft what?

((Ummm like…like just share a soft, sweet little fact about yourself.))

Oh. Uh okay, so ummm…when Cassie was little, bedtime was one of my favorite times with her. She would pick out a storybook, and I’d tuck her in and read her the story. I’d do different, goofy voices for any characters and stuff, and she loved it. She’d tell me I was the best bedtime storyteller ever.

And then if she ever had a bad dream…

You know I’m always surprised how I can hear her calling for me in a panic when I’m sleeping and jolt right awake. Because I’m a pretty heavy sleeper, and it takes quite a bit to pull me out of sleep.

But every time without fail, when she’d feebly call out for me, sounding so scared and so in need of me, I hear it immediately and come running.

And I’d pick her up and hug her tightly and I’d get her to tell me what’s wrong. And then I’d lay her on my chest and I’d rub her back softly…and sing to her. More than once I’d fallen asleep that way too, just content to hold my little girl and keep her safe while she slept.

I’ll never forget those moments. Those soft, sweet little moments that fill me with the sense that…that there’s nowhere else I’d rather be than right there with the most good thing that’s ever been mine.

🌌 MILKY WAY - what was the inspiration behind your oc? what was the first thing you decided about them?

Elanor

So, there's a running joke I have with a few friends that the first female character of each game I play - with customizable options - has to be a badass redhead called iterations of the name Lenore, which is the name of my Mass Effect protagonist. I find it hilarious that my Shepard is traveling through realms bringing chaos and a very bad personality. Luckily Ela turned out similar to Lenore only in the physical aspects, mentally they're polar opposites - well, except when it comes to falling for dorks with sarcastic approaches on life << I don't remember the first thing I decided about her, actually, it's been a while. Probably something related to her strength.

Hawke

Just like Ela, he happened very randomly. I remember approaching the game superficially in the first run, like, picking just the diplomatic options and having a mediocre time throughout the story by deciding for the "best" decisions and romancing the "wrong" character. But then I remember @underneathestars mentioned that the humorous personality was super fun and I was like "oh, so I can play as the town's fool! amazing!". Plus, another friend told me that Fenris was the best romance so I was like "yeah, why not, better than [other character]" All the right calls were made and Kerry was such a fun character to play and mentally accessorize! The first thing I decided about him was that he's just Some Dude. No particular skillset, just a big heart and a tendency to put himself in danger because of it.

Ankh

Another child of a second or third or fourth (can't remember) playthrough. I remember wanting a really fun character to engage the environment with but this time with actual competences and that is really doing her best, and more. With her, I fell in love with the game and the franchise in general. The first thing I decided about her was that everything she accomplished, she had to work for it. She isn't afraid of failure, because failure is the first thing she experiences in life and she knows how to take the best tools from it to succeed another day.

🍰 CAKE SLICE - favourite cake flavour? are they specific about types of cakes?

Coming from nobility, she has tasted many varieties of cake so she could develop preferences - and be picky about it << I would say something creamy and voluptuous, like those cakes with flavored custard and layers of puff pastry sheets, with fancy fruit on top. She's a fan of delicate scents and flavors when it comes to pastry, but it has to be decadent or else she prefers not to engage.

Hawke

He could eat any cake, really. However, his favorite is a classic: jam tart (onion and fig being his preferred choices for filling).

Ankh

She's lactose and gluten intolerant, plus she can't digest fermented aliments, so her options are very limited when it comes to eating - whenever she doesn't cut them herself because of her eating disorder. Rather than cake she's fond of small pastry. One of the best things she has ever eaten was the thedosian cousin of a cannolo, with fresh ricotta cheese, chocolate chips, and orange slices - she fell super sick after that but, eh, can't really blame her for making such a bad decision.

🚆TRAIN - what is their answer to the trolley problem?

Since the implications of the whole thing are quite complex, I'm going with the regular version (source wikipedia):

"There is a runaway trolley barreling down the railway tracks. Ahead, on the tracks, there are five people tied up and unable to move. The trolley is headed straight for them. You are standing some distance off in the train yard, next to a lever. If you pull this lever, the trolley will switch to a different set of tracks. However, you notice that there is one person on the side track. You have two (and only two) options:

Do nothing, in which case the trolley will kill the five people on the main track.

Pull the lever, diverting the trolley onto the side track where it will kill one person.

Which is the more ethical option? Or, more simply: What is the right thing to do?"

The right thing to do, for her, would be diverting the trolley to kill one person. Hopefully it's Darkspawn

Same as Elanor, but he'd make sure to identify the person and take care of their family afterwards

Among the three, she's the one that thinks about it for a while before providing an answer. Would make the trolley explode, if the distance is enough to support the idea. Hypotetically, all of the people will be harmed by the explosion but nobody - except her maybe - would die. If the distance isn't enough to plan a thing, she'd do the same as the others. Her first instinct would be looking for a third option tho.

🥞 PANCAKE: what is their comfort breakfast?

For Lou, it's not so much the food, but the specific setting. Breakfasts when staying with her great-aunt Maartje as a kid, getting thoroughly spoiled, are a fond memory, as is the first morning in her flat in London before the war, eating porridge (only slightly burnt) and being alone and independent for the first time in her life. During the war, she might only have a cup of weak coffee and crackers and jam from her rations, but if the rain has eased for a while and no one's shelling them, that's something to hold onto too.

🌪️ TORNADO - what is the biggest change you've ever made to them? how have they changed from their original version?

I just yoinked this opportunity to draw the Original Nette, which was a human version of the Puppet from FNaF, but with a lot of love and original details put in <3

long before we had any solid lore for Five Nights at Freddy's, all we knew of the Puppet was that they brought the gift of life back to the original 5 murdered children. So the lore I tacked onto him was that he was the first child to be murdered many years before, and he spent a lot of his afterlife alone in the dark and created the Shadows himself.. With sheer willpower and thread he made from moonlight

So he's always had the Shadows and had been fairly mysterious. He became a guardian of sorts for lost children's souls and would connect their lives with a physical object to give them a second chance. He was very soft and gentle and fatherly in kind of a parentified way?

Nette's had a wholeeeeee series of growth over the past many years. He went from soft boi to very confident once I started rping him with Rou. (Actually he was exactly like Hail for a while >>) Then when we made Marion, the morally grey wizard, he kinda went more and more angry and evil-leaning for a long time.

Nowadays it's almost like the current Nette is a reincarnation of the original Nette but totally unprepared for it. There's still the powerful and mysterious aspect to it, but nowadays Nette is really just faking it til he's making it (His being the King of the Shadows is essentially all playing pretend after all) Insert animated disney coming of age movie plot here

biggest change I've made is that he has a face! but that changed real fast when I jokingly made him the very pretty guy he is and Rou insisted it be canon. Shadows had stupid convoluted logic before I said fuck it to everything and just let it grow on it's own =v=;

Ooooh such a good question! I didn't really have anything in mind for this until you asked, but it does make sense that they would have little things from when their parents were alive.

I'm totally not making this up right now as I type.

WILL: He has this stone (yes, I said that right, like a rock) that he used to use as a fidget toy when he was younger. He liked it because of its nice colour and smooth surface, but mostly because it was his mom who gave it to him. 💕 He still has it amongst his belongings, but doesn't carry it around as much as he used to. (He'd feel really rotten if he lost it.) I'm sure it would offer a lot of comfort in jail, but he didn't take it with him the day he was arrested. 😭

SAD LORE / BACKSTORY DROP.

JAMIE: One summer, word came that there had been an explosives accident from the railroad construction site where his dad worked. Jamie still remembers the agonizing hours of waiting, waiting, waiting, waiting for any news of his dad. He and his mom didn't tell Will.

What an incredible feeling it was, when their dad sent a message the next day - he was OK, hadn't been involved in the accident. When his visited home from the worksite, Jamie forgot that he was supposed to be the tough older brother and flung himself into his dad's arms. 💕💕💕💕💕

What an awful feeling it was, then, when the next time there was a railroad accident...the message they received the next day was a very different one.

I kind of want to find a happy memory for Jamie but I think I'll just go ahead and post this...it's been sitting in my drafts while my brain desperately worked through these wonderful questions. Sorry Jamie I love you

🕷️ SPIDER - what is their biggest fear? do they have any irrational / mundane fears?

This is a particularly cool one because I always mention some things here and there but I never elaborated on that, thank you so much for picking it!! <3

Elanor

Her biggest fear is losing. A close second to that is the acknowledegment of the limited amount of time she has left before encountering every warden's fate. She doesn't want to consider failure, but seeing that her research is dragging what's left of her existence is eating her alive. Morrigan bought her and Alistair more time but she needs a definitive solution, one that saves him and her beloved comrades.

Hawke

He's afraid to losing himself by being blindly loyal to his family and friends. He always gives, and gives, and gives... sometimes he just looks at himself in the mirror and sees emptiness. He asks himself: "Who am I? Is it worth it if I end up losing everything anyway?" Back to more mundane fears, he's terrified of wounds. He doesn't find them gross or unbearable, it's more like projecting the pain onto himself. His heart starts racing and he immediately wants to leave the room.

Ankh

Quoting her character sheet: "She's terrified of spiders and the inevitable death of her culture if the Elders and Keepers mantain a seclusive attitude even towards their kind". She knows things are improving for her people, but at the slowest pace. She keeps hoping and doing, thankful that she's in a position that allows her to help her people out whenever they need it. It's a double edged knife (because when they fuck up it all falls on her shoulders), but it's better than nothing. A close second is the Blight. She saw its impact in the fereldan countryside and that scared the living hell out of her. Also, yeah, spiders. Loathes them, squeals / freezes whenever she finds one that walks onto her jacket. The small ones are the worst, in her opinion.

🌪️ TORNADO: what is the biggest change you've ever made to them? how have they changed from their original version?

Such an interesting question! Lou has definitely gone through a lot of changes since I started writing her in [redacted]. I think the main thing is that she used to be a lot more reserved and stoic, with a big dash of war-weariness, which... just isn't her. She's gone through a lot but it hasn't dulled her spark or spirit--if anything, she's more determined to enjoy her life, for all the people she knew who now can't.

😨 FEARFUL: when scared, do they go into "flight" or "fight"?

On the whole, Lou goes into fight mode. She's calm under pressure, quick to make a plan, and I think enjoys, to an extent, the adrenaline rush of bad situations. Having said that, there have been a few occasions in her life when she's felt that kind of dizzying, paralysing fear, and it definitely takes a lot of effort to get her head working and her body to keep moving.

☕️ HOT BEVERAGE: do they prefer hot or cold drinks? what is their favourite drink?

Well, she's English, so her daily routine is punctuated by cups of tea and coffee. But her favourite drink is a glass of cool lemonade on a hot day, the perfect mix of sweet and sharp.

💗 GROWING HEART: if they have a crush, is it noticeable? what changes when they're in love?

Most of the time, Lou has a pretty good hold on her emotions, and she's also very conscious of the precariousness of her job: she wouldn't want any of her personal feelings to be used against her. So she's careful, but to anyone looking closely, there'll be some gazes that linger just a bit too long, and a certain softness and lightness about her.

📦 PACKAGE: what are some "most likely to…" that can apply to them?

Ooh! Ruth is most likely to offer sensible advice or emotional support to her friends (and boy, do they need it). Most likely to be the first one to be told gossip. Most likely to cry at a film, definitely. And most likely to get tipsy first (look, she's got a baby, she doesn't get out much, her tolerance to alcohol is very low).

Ferraby! I love him. A random fact about him is that he's left-handed.

👖 JEANS: what is their go-to outfit?

During the war? Her FANY uniform. (Emily's an Ensign and is very proud of her red pips.) Off duty, she favours simple dresses or knit sets in darker colours: she looks best in navy, fir green, or burgundy.
