yall ive been studying wiki articles for the past two hours and under the article about hannibal directive it literally says that on dec 5 israeli h0stages who were released met with netanyahus war cabinet and claimed that they were "deliberately attacked by israeli helicopters on their way into gaza and shelled constantly by the israeli military while they were there" and on top of that two female survivors from be'eri said in a tv interview (i saw that on ig a few days ago too) that they witnessed a 12-yr old girl named liel being hit and k!lled by a tank shell. just a few hours ago on dec 18 the IDF admitted i quote "casualties fell as a result of friendly fire on october 7" but added that "beyond the operational investigations of the events, it would not be morally sound to investigate these incidents due to the immense and complex quantity of them that took place in the kibbutzim and southern israeli communities due to the challenging situations the soldiers were in at the time." an israeli police investigation also stated that the first helicopters at the scene of the festival arrived hours after the massacre began and that they were likely responsible for "only a few" friendly fire casualties (still at least they finally admitted to the firing from helicopters but given the amounts of totally destroyed and burnt cars and what the freed h0stages reported on dec 5 im not so sure about that). the numbers of civilian casualities of october 7 has been now named at 695 israeli civilians (of which reportedly 70 were arab israelis) including 36 kids plus 71 foreign nationals, of which the article said that an "unknown but significant number" was caused by friendly fire. i honestly hope this is investigated thoroughly and not swept under the carpet. yes h4mas is guilty of horrifying crimes and has to be held accountable and punished (but THEM, not the entire population of gaza) but also the israeli military and government has to be held accountable for their actions not only in gaza but also on their „own“ territory. many freed h0stages, surviving victims that have not been ab duc ted and their families have been talking how they felt betrayed (one young man said he was sh0t at the festival in his leg and immobilised by that and literally laid in the desert for 7 hours and that he could not understand what took them so long, also being given he was once serving in the army as well) and were made dual victims of h4mas and israel simultaneously. ARGH. Watching a letsplay and the streamer goes "are they outrunning it? but I thought the nova affected, like, most of the galaxy?"

This is one of my astronomy pet peeves: NOVAS AND SUPERNOVAS* ARE NOT THAT BIG.

And here's the thing: supernovas are basically bigger than you expect, even if you take this rule into account. Nevertheless, they're not THAT big. You are not going to get blown up because a star in a neighboring star system went nova, and if it goes supernova you're mostly in trouble because you'll get hit with enough gamma rays to fuck up your ozone layer.

So even if a nearby star goes boom, it's not "OH NO MY PLANET EXPLODED", it's more "slow environmental catastrophe". The best proof for this? We've been hit with them before. It's estimated the earth has been hit with gamma ray bursts from nearby supernovas something like 8 times. One of them may have caused the Late Ordovician mass extinction half a billion years ago.

anyway, FUN FACT: the general "danger radius" for supernovas is within 300 parsecs. There are 6 known stars that may go supernova within that distance, and the most famous of these is Betelgeuse, which may go boom soon**. It's ~200 parsecs away so it's probably not going to hit us with a biosphere-destroying blast, but it may be a measurable decrease in ozone when it explodes.

* I know what the correct plural is, but I'm not speaking latin. ** "soon" in astronomy terms means "within the next 100,00 years", but Betelgeuse has been doing some weird variability within the last couple years so it may be very soon. But we've never really studied a star about to supernova this closely before, so who knows?

turn up the volume and listen to these cries. this used to be a zoo “Kazkova Dibrova” in Nova Kahovka, housing around 300 animals. it is reported to be fully submerged under water now. animals could not be evacuated because the land around the zoo was mined by russians (it is currently in occupied territories). many if not all animals died from drowning and i wish russians the same fate. russia delenda est.

UPD: a Ukrainian animal activist organisation UAnimals spoke to the administration of the zoo, they confirmed that animals drowned except for swans and ducks. “We tried so hard to keep the zoo alive in occupation but now it just doesn’t exist anymore”.💔

Author's Note: CORA, I AM SO SORRY. I got so carried away trying to complete the bingo fics that I let the last three event requests sit idle in my inbox. However, as promised in my New Years post, I have finally completed it!!! Thank you so much for your patience and putting up with me. I hope you still like it 💚

Crosshair shoots up in his bed, screaming at the top of his lungs as sweat pours down his face. He heaves in his breaths and claws at the duvet to try and find reality, but the images from his nightmare refuse to dissipate from his mind. As he continues to search for safety, he feels a hand grab his arm and he begins to flail wildly, desperately trying to escape his nightmare.

"Easy," you say.

Crosshair tries to remember who the voice belongs to, but the room is dark and his mind is still groggy, so he continues to fight your grip as if you're an attacker.

You turn on the lamp on the bedside table and as his eyes adjust to the brightness, he finally sees who the hand belongs to. It's yours. You're holding his wrist and looking at him with concern in his eyes.

His body trembles as he settles and works to get his breathing under control.

"I'm here," you soothe. "I've got you. You're safe now."

Crosshair swallows hard. "I… I don't know what happened."

"A nightmare?" you ask.

"Yeah," he pants. "A bad one. From my time on Mount Tantiss. They did… things to me."

You suck in a breath. "That place is gone now. They can't hurt you anymore."

"But the memories–"

"Are just memories," you whisper.

"I can't…" he breathes while holding the side of his head. "I can't get rid of them."

"It'll take time," you reassure.

"Time," he says. "The one thing I don't have."

You pull Crosshair into your chest and scoot back against the headboard, wrapping your arms around him.

"You can try to go back to sleep when you're ready," you say. "I won't leave you."

He closes his eyes and takes a deep breath. "Thank you."

How to say goodbye ‘see you around’ and mean it…

The time has come.

First thing’s first: this isn’t goodbye—just a heads up.

Due to changes I’m making in my personal life, I’m stepping back from the Transformers fandom for a partial hiatus. My ambition makes me restless, and it’s about time I put some of my plans into action.

Yes, a Chinese person becoming a doctor. How original.

Maybe I’ll turn out like Ratchet. Maybe I’ll suffer long enough to become Pharma.

Only time will tell…

In any case, I don’t plan on totally disappearing from the fandom any time soon. Eventually, I won’t be logged in on the app, but I’ll be accessing the site through a browser a few times a week, or when I have free time.

For the foreseeable future, you’ll see me around primarily on the weekends and Wednesdays—collecting posts for the queue, answering old asks, and maybe making a post once in a while.

What to expect:

The queue will publish a few times a day, and most original posts and extra reblogs will be scheduled.

I have 300+ post ideas saved in my notes and screenshots. My goal is to slowly release these into the wild.

I’ll try to keep writing meta, but when and how will depend entirely on how much free time I have, and what little energy I have to spare.

If I ever have extra time, I might open my ask box and play an ask game or two. Maybe…

Platô é quando o seu peso fica estagnado, isso quer dizer que você não ganha nada (engorda), nem perde nada (emagrece).

Em dietas comuns para perda de peso as pessoas adotam uma rotina de exercícios e alimentação que faz com que a pessoa perca uns quilinhos inicialmente, mas a frequência da rotina faz com que o corpo se adpte a nova forma de estilo de vida, estagnando o peso.

O platô ocorre após uns 5-6 meses de restrição, mas costuma acontecer mais rápido com nós, pois nossa restrição costuma ser agressiva!

Veja bem, você faz uma dieta super restritiva, seja um longo NF ou intake baixo, acaba tendo um déficit agressivo de 1K de kcal, por exemplo. Você queima hoje, amanhã, depois, o que leva a um déficit calórico agressivo constante, então seguindo isso por um longo período o corpo para de queimar.

Como a ingestão de calorias é pouco ou nula, ele entra em alerta por achar que você está basicamente morrendo, em caso de NF ele não sabe quando será a próxima vez que você vai comer e para de queimar, quando voltar irá queimar o mínimo possível pra te manter vivo.

No caso de alta restrição vai estagnar e ele vai se adaptar àquele intake baixo, o metabolismo desacelera pra uma porra e quando você volta a queimar, você não queimar tanto.

No platô, mesmo com exercícios e dieta você não perde nenhuma grama e isso pode durar semanas!

▶ O que pode levar a entrar em platô ?

NF's longos;

Dietas altamente restritivas com longa duração;

Queimar tudo que consome.

-> Exemplo:

Ingerir 300 kcal e queimar as 300 kcal ou mais.

-> Explicação: Se você come 300 kcal e queima as 300 com exercícios, seu corpo fica sem o que contabilizar já que você queimou tudo, é como se você não tivesse comido, então o corpo vai reagir da mesma forma igualmente quando você faz um NF.

▶ Como faço pra sair do platô ?

Simples: dieta Zig-Zag!

A dieta Zig-Zag consiste em você não manter um intake fixo, mas alternar entre um intake alto e depois um baixo.

-> Exemplo:

Seg: 300 kcal

Ter: 700 kcal

Qua: 400 kcal

Qui: 900 kcal

Sex: 350 kcal

Sinceramente, eu meio que entendo porquê funciona, mas não sei explicar, então não me pergunte o porquê, apenas sei que funciona! KKKKKKKKKKKKKKK

▶ Considerações importantes:

Algumas pessoas entram em desespero por parar de queimar e entram em NF até sair do efeito platô.

Isso funciona? Capaz.

É recomendado? NÃO.

Se seu corpo para de queimar kcal por achar que você está MORRENDO, a última coisa que você deve fazer é ficar MAIS TEMPO sem comer.

Ele já vai tentar sobreviver com o mínimo, ou seja, desacelerando o metabolismo e queimando menos, então imagina como não fica com você fazendo NF?

Vocês acham que TMB de site tá certa com você fazendo NF de sei lá quantas horas?

Deixe-me vos dizer uma coisa: TMB é mutável!

Isso quer dizer que ela pode aumentar ou diminuir de acordo com seus hábitos alimentares e entrando em NF pós platô só vai fazer ela reduzir.

Não tenham medo de comer mais pra sair do platô, ele não vai te engordar. Pode haver inchaço dependendo do seu corpo, mas pode não haver. Aliás, um moot meu, a Tai, já saiu do platô fazendo dieta Zig-Zag.
