Our first time meeting...again <3
A short fic of my yandere OC, Nova!
gn!reader
tw. stalking, general yandere behaviour
Your shift was almost over. The smell of coffee and warm croissants that filled the cafe would have been comforting to anyone, but after 8 hours of running around and listening to your coworker complain about her husband who once again, forgot to pick up their son at school, it long lost it's effects on you.
The relief of the tiring part of the day being over was quickly washed away by the rain that started pouring down a minute into your walk back home. You started sprinting, mumbling curses to yourself. Your apartment wasn't extremely far, it usually took you no more than 20 minutes to reach it, and at this pace, you could cut that time by half...but it wouldn't save you from getting your clothes completely drenched in dirty rainwater by the time you entered the building.
As the intensity of the rain only seemed to rise, you decided to take refuge under the first bus stop you found on your path. You would wait there until the rain quieted down a bit or stopped altogether, being home as soon as possible wasn't worth the hustle and embarrassment of running down your city's streets.
"Hi there! You seem troubled, do you perhaps need some help?" A masculine voice right next to your ear startled you, you quickly turned around, accidentally butting heads with the stranger who didn't seem as fazed by it as you. "Ow!" You yelped, as you instinctively put a hand to your forehead. For a moment you were surprised to see a tall black man next to you, not the natural human type of black, but something more akin to the night sky, his ears were unnaturally long, and...why did he lack any white in his eyes?! But then you blinked and all those uncanny features disappeared, in front of you was a man with tan skin, dyed purple hair, and nothing wrong with his eyes, you could even say they were of a surprisingly pretty blue color.
"You could take a picture if you want." The man's suggestion took you back to reality. "Huh? What? Why would I want that?" The man looked at you with an adoring gaze and a cheeky smile before chuckling. "Sorry, it's just that you were staring at me so intently, I figured it would help with your analysis. Am I a 10 or do I need improvement?" His bold statement took you by surprise, causing you to blush a bit in embarrassment. "No no, sorry. I didn't mean to, I was just-" You didn't have any valid excuses, and even if you did, you wouldn't have been able to use them as the man cut you off in the middle of your sentence. "It's fine, it's fine! I was just joking...and I really don't mind. I actually came up to you to ask if you needed help to get back to the apartment since you don't have an umbrella." If you were just a bit more naive or reckless, you would have thought this guy was such an angel for wanting to help a random stranger in need out of the goodness of his heart, but your parents' lessons and personal experiences on 'stranger danger' were ingrained in your head. What did this guy really want, and how did he know you were going home and not waiting for the bus or something, that's what a normal person would think if they saw you sitting there.
"No thank you, it's alright. I'm actually waiting for the bus, my apartment is way too far to reach on foot." You don't need a possible burglar to know where you live. He stared at you with a raised eyebrow but then a realization must have hit him. "Oh, you must not recognize me, I actually live a floor below you. We crossed each other on the stairs last week...and yesterday." No matter how much you think about it, you can't recall ever seeing him which is weird, a guy like him is difficult not to notice. Then you remembered something: one of your neighbors had recently moved out, so he must be the new resident. Your ex-neighbor didn't even say goodbye to anyone and just left one night, which was weird because they had even invited you out to a party once, doesn't mean you were friends but at least close enough to expect some kind of departure notice. "If that's true, then can you tell me the building's address?" "Of course, it's ####### #####" And that was good enough to convince you.
You two took your time walking back together, making small talk and getting to know each other, even exchanging phone numbers. "This way you can just call me next time you end up stranded somewhere!" Said Nova, that was his name. He was such a nice guy, you thought, you almost felt bad for initially identifying him as a creep.
You wouldn't be worrying as much about the rudeness of your initial prejudice towards him if you knew the true reason behind your neighbor's sudden disappearance. If you knew it wasn't a coincidence that you found each other on that street at such a convenient time.
Maybe if you had rejected him ever since your first meeting it would have saved you from what was to come...just maybe. But I wouldn't be so hopeful if I were you.

Nova's Yandere Alphabet:
Affection: How do they show their love and affection? How intense would it get?
He's a dangerously clingy man the moment you first allow him to be, they need to be close to you and constantly remind you of their love with soft touches and sometimes by biting (when he gets a little overwhelmed). They never stop showering you with praise, but he also enjoys teasing you when he gets to opportunity. He's not going to push your boundaries if you show him you dislike physical touch, so he'll limit himself to just staying in your vicinity but there's nothing you can do to get him to shut up.
Blood: How messy are they willing to get when it comes to their darling?
He sees humans as lesser beings (except for his soulmate, of course), they are mildly fun to watch but nothing special. Killing one is like stepping on an ant, he feels no remorse. He learned to not do it unless necessary as his darling often freaks out if they find out, and he doesn't want that. He never resorts to torture and always bestows a quick, painless death as he deems it useless to waste their time on anything else other than their beloved...that is, unless they have hurt his precious soulmate, then they deserve to suffer ten times more.
Cruelty: How would they treat their darling once abducted? Would they mock them?
Why would they? His beloved is exactly where they belong, next to him and away from all those distractions that only served to keep you entertained before they could reach you again! He might make fun of you if you put up too much of a fight, but it's all in good spirits! What did you say? You miss your family and freedom? So funny! The other you also mentioned something like that! Don't worry, they got over it eventually, and you will too. <3
Darling: Aside from abduction, would they do anything against their darling’s will?
If your will is for them to leave you alone and stop manipulating you into abandoning all your friends and family, then yeah. But he mostly cares about your wishes and things you aren't comfortable with, so if you want them to stop cuddling you for 12 hours a day, just tell him and he'll lower it to only 8!
Exposed: How much of their heart do they bare to their darling? How vulnerable are they when it comes to their darling?
He doesn't have much to hide, he tells them how alone he would feel without them, the depression they felt when they haven't discovered them yet...but depending on the way he thinks his beloved will react, he won't tell them about the murders, the blackmail, and hacking he did to repel nuisances from looking for you.
Fight: How would they feel if their darling fought back?
It's something he's used to, you always fight back at the beginning and almost always warm up to him eventually *cough* Stockholm syndrome *cough*...almost. If you reject him constantly and refuse to reciprocate him or even just accept their love after years...he'll feel like a failure. What did they do wrong this time? Were they unable to show you how deeply connected you two are? How even the universe is tying him to you and vice-versa? They will find a way and learn from their mistakes, next time they'll do better.
Game: Is this a game to them? How much would they enjoy watching their darling try to escape?
It is serious but also kind of a game, he has done this dozens of times at this point. They are deeply amused when you try the same stunt you performed in another life, sometimes he even leaves the window open on purpose to relive a past memory. You're so cute when you squirm to get away from him once he catches you, haha just like last time!
Hell: What would be their darling’s worst experience with them?
Probably if you catch them murdering someone close to you, like your best friend or something. Or in that one specific universe when he accidentally-
Ideals: What kind of future do they have in mind for/with their darling?
Spending all your time together until the day you die, once that happens they'll hop to another dimension and do it all again, he wonders how you'll look and act this time around!
Jealousy: Do they get jealous? Do they lash out or find a way to cope?
He only gets jealous if you spend more time with someone else than him, or ignore him to pay attention to your friend instead. They don't care much if someone flirts with you or asks you out, as long as you reject them. Other people have no significance, only your actions and your thoughts do. If he gets jealous of someone he'll get rid of them, in whichever way is the most favorable.
Kisses: How do they act around or with their darling?
Extremely affectionate and clingy but he's also very humorous and likes to joke around, even pulling some pranks if he knows you'll respond well! They can also be a bit flirt when the mood is right, they're mostly just teasing you to provoke different reactions.
Love letters: How would they go about courting or approaching their darling?
He's learned to develop different tactics based on your current personality and life, but depending on the timeline (how many times have they met a new version of their soulmate) their approach changes drastically from straight-up kidnapping to a slow-burn romance.
Mask: Are their true colors drastically different from the way they act around everyone else?
If not with his darling, he acts cynical and uninterested in everyone around him. He's a cold-blooded murderer and would even step on a child if it got in his way. They were initially fascinated and curious about all the new things and people around them but that eventually died down. He still experiences some fascination if he finds a world drastically different from any other one he visited tho. Other than that, he acts genuine around his darling, they are the only one that can awaken his emotions.
Naughty: How would they punish their darling?
He wouldn't really punish you per se, if you escape they'll simply tighten the locks. If you hit him, he might laugh at your attempt and intimidate you into stopping if you go too far, showing you it's useless as you are simply too weak compared to them. Maybe if you manage to hurt his feelings somehow he'll isolate himself for a bit to regain his composure. All of this also depends on the timeline, during the first times they might belittle you in response if you try to insult them, or trap you in a room to stop you from using them as a punching bag...or the one time when the worst case scenario happened he might-
Oppression: How many rights would they take away from their darling?
If they kidnapped you or isolated you from society, you won't ever meet anyone else, ever again. You will also lose the right to go anywhere without him, at most you are free to use the bathroom without them staring you down.
Patience: How patient are they with their darling?
Extremely patient, even if you manage to annoy him, you'll never drive them away or provoke an excessive reaction from them.
Quit: If their darling dies, leaves, or successfully escapes, would they ever be able to move on?
If you die, he'll mourn your loss for a bit, cherish and ingrain in his mind the memories they made with you in this life...and then just move on to the next one. If you successfully escape, he'll be extremely impressed, it's been a while since you last managed that. Your "successful escape" at most lasts a day or the time it gets for them the reach whatever point in the universe you have magically teleported to because that's the only way you could feasibly escape. He can feel your soul no matter how far away it is, he'll get to you eventually.
Regret: Would they ever feel guilty about abducting their darling? Would they ever let their darling go?
No, he never did and never will.
Stigma: What brought about this side of them (childhood, curiosity, etc)?
The feeling of loneliness and lack of belonging they felt after wandering for too long between dimensions. You are the only thing that's constant everywhere he goes, the only thing that for some reason makes him feel something no matter how many times they encounter you. They believe your souls are tied together and destined to never part, so he'll ensure this destiny is fulfilled...everywhere and everytime.
Tears: How do they feel about seeing their darling scream, cry, and/or isolate themselves?
If you scream or cry, he's used to it. He'll comfort you, and give you time and space if you need it. It still makes his heart clench a bit but unless it benefits him, they won't show it to you. If you isolate yourself, they'll worry if it goes on longer than usual, they need to make sure you aren't falling into depression or end up hurting yourself.
Unique: Would they do anything different from the classic yandere?
I suppose his extremely collected or calm reactions to anything you try against him, and his selective jealousy.
Vice: What weakness can their darling exploit in order to escape?
You could try to convince them that for you to be happy, you need to travel around the world and try new things. They will plan and organize as many trips as you want but they'll never leave your side. If you try to kill yourself repeatedly, that will make them panic and accept any request you have, they might let you meet with some of your friends by yourself but not too often.
Wit’s end: Would they ever hurt their darling?
Not intentionally, except that one time when-
Xoanon: How much would they revere or worship their darling? To what length would they go to win their darling over?
They see you as the most important being in creation, everything you want will be delivered. If you want someone gone, it is done. I'm not sure if they see you as above them, definitely an equal tho. There was a period where he was in denial and saw you as an insignificant human being, just like the rest...but that phase has been over for a long time.
Yearn: How long do they pine after their darling before they snap?
Depends on the timeline but if you somehow manage to avoid him for years and years, then he will.
Zenith: Would they ever break their darling?
They might accidentally, and it did happen a few times. He did learn from those times and improved his act so it shouldn't be a problem anymore.
