Happy #Whumptober everyone! All Vows in October will include multiple Whumptober prompts. I am about to spoil the heck out of this chapter so read below for the cut line for my commentary on this week's chapter. CW: Undiagnosed Mental Illness; Conflict with a Parent

Erik finds his mother.

We know very little of his mother in the book or the musical: just that she threw a mask at him, would hardly touch him, and (in the book) that he has her furniture (how random is that?)

I wanted to show where a lot of Erik's inner turmoil comes from, and of course, as for most of is, it comes from our parents or caregivers. I do not name the condition that his mother has--it did have a name at the time and I will outright tell you later in the story. However, some of you may be able to pick it out--I wanted to show what it might be like as a child who never knows when the other shoe is going to drop.

My inspiration came from one of my own caregivers, who didn't get diagnosed with a very treatable mental health condition until long after I had moved out of the house, and it contributed to being in a very chaotic environment, not knowing if I was going to be praised or criticizing for existing or just doing kid things.

I also wanted to show some tenderness--which is why Erik sings her the most popular French lullaby ever (A La Claire Fontaine), which has a meaning that was too perfect not to include.

Girl, I just realised that at the end of manga, we see everybody healthy and happy. Mikey and Takemichi saved everybody in the end. But we don't have any information about only one person. Inui Akane. What happened to her? Did they prevent the fire? Seishu doesn't have the scar at the end.

Ah that is one of the big mysteries about the ending! Just because she isn't there doesn't mean she's dead since there's also no Luna or Mana and we don't even see Yasuda or Yumi. And as you said Inui doesn't have his scar so that means either Takemichi and Mikey completely prevented the fire or they made sure Inui wasn't at home during the fire.

I feel like this comes down to if Takemichi and Mikey purposely tried to stop the fire or not. See obviously they would if theu knew but the problem is at no point do we see Inui or even Koko talk to them about the fire and even if they did they'd have to know the house location and the specific date at the very least. Though obviously they could've been told this at some point that we didn't see. We're also never told the cause of the fire so I'm not sure how you prevent that exactly so just getting Inui out of the house would've been the easier option. And of course Mikey and Takemichi would've somehow made sure Akane didn't go home too if they knew. But if they didn't know? If they changed the timeline enough meaning Inui wasn't home that night and it was all a coincidence? That of course raises further questions too though like if Inui wasn't home would Koko have searched longer and found Akane and rescued her???? It's a mystery!

#I've also got theory no3 where koko himself prevented it similarly to how chifuyu can remember things who's to say the others can't? #though with them i feel like it wouldn't be full memories but kinda like anxieties about specific things? #like koko insisting inui come with them to the library that night and insisting they all stay out longer #koko not even knowing why he wants that himself but getting this strong urge to not let them go home idk could be kinda cool #tokyo revengers #tokrev #tokyo revengers spoilers #akane inui

If I were to create a specific alternative JoJo universe, I’ll have Dio Brando, Hol Horse and Yoshikage Kira be college roommates.  

Dio would be that loud, annoying and flamboyant blorbo in campus who had an unknown grudge on Jonathan. Hol is the floater who just attends all the classes without really studying but still scored in his exams. And Kira, the quiet, creepy student that was rumoured to join an occult but he really was just a normal student trying to live a normal life. 

Basically three men in one house kinda story. I don’t know how to expand this au beyond this, except that Hol is dating Polnareff, the well-rounded student who just couldn’t wrap his head around on how Hol always got ahead of him in exams.
