Cape Twirl Comparison, Current West End Phantoms (2023-2024)
Jon Robyns-Principal (January 2024), definitely more of a cheeky fling than a twirl
James Gant-First Cover (July 2023), solid twirl. I've seen him both fling and twirl. When I saw him live in March, he was twirling. (Christine is Paige Blankson) (This is in the upcoming stream with @wheel-of-fish)
Michael Colbourne -Second Cover (February 2024), definitely a twirl. (Christine is Lily Kerhoas)
Connor Ewing-Third Cover, sadly we do not know, he's only been on once and no video has surfaced.
(the 1st/3rd are @or-what-you-will & @akatra master, the 2nd is @callmelasagna)
Chag Pesach Sameach! Starting next week, During the 40 days of the Omer between Pesach and Shavuot, I’ll be doing 40 days of POTO content. Mostly things that live rent free in my head. It could be gifs of boots, cosplay WIPs or shoots I haven’t posted, fanfic, art, etc.
Today I can’t stop thinking about how Erik has “DONT TOUCH ME” embroidered in gold thread on his Red Death cape.
Your honor, my client is guilty as hell but he looked great doing it.
This’ll probably be one of the last animatics I post in a while, but I had to contribute at least one of them to one of my favorite ships of all time— Megstine 🥰🫶
@brendadaaedestler tagged me to list the last 5 things I googled for a fic! I've gone on so many wikipedia journeys this week, but these are the things I actually searched for (in firefox, so technically not google but whatever):
historical cook tent
french regency balls
duke of orléans
louis XIV
Norse mythology
tagging @kotaka-kun @emotionalmotionsicknessxx @flora-gray @shinyfire-0 @ashadeintheshade but no pressure!
Kelly Glyptis (Carlotta Giudicelli) and Lily Kerhoas (Christine Daae) in The Phantom of the Opera, West End, January 2024 (w/ Adam Linstead (Gilles Andre) and Janet Mooney (Wardrobe Mistress)
Master: @or-what-you-will and @hyperfixatra
In another universe, Carlotta and Christine are actually best friends and take their talent elsewhere and make bank, because the Opera Populaire is nothing without them. The Girys can come too.
One of the things I love about having a Phantom mezuzah is that I touch it and press my hand to my lips every time I pass it so poor unhappy Erik is getting a lil kiss every time someone walks by.
Lego Phantom Mezuzah cases and individual Lego characters only now available on PhantomJudaica. Use discount code: tumblr for 18% off the entire store!
He now has a cape, and sleeps in a coffin. My next project is to put tiny little appliqués on the cape.
Just feeling very Raoulcore today as I wrap up All Vows and start working on my next project.
The picture is Edward Heron-Allen who is 25 years old in these pictures (taken in 1886). In the top picture, the man to the right of the one with the red sash (looking at the paper) is wearing the uniform Raoul would have worn as an Ensign after graduating from the école navale.
French Naval uniforms changed in about 1871 and didn’t change again until about 1910. This is not uncommon. For comparison, most of the U.S. Navy’s officer dress uniforms have not substantively changed in 80 years.
For Raoul’s tour de Monde, he would have been either on a relatively new ironclad (which were about to be obsolete anyway), or a slightly older one from the late 1850s-1860s nearing the end of its life. Which would be more interesting to read about?
Hi, everyone! I’m happy to announce that from June 9-15, I will be hosting the 3rd annual Queer Week, celebrating the different queer pairings and headcanons in the Phantom of the Opera fandom.
What could this look like?
It can look like one or a combination of the following:
-A queer sexual orientation (lesbian, gay, bisexual, asexual, etc.)
-A queer gender identity (transgender, nonbinary, etc.)
-Either a romantic or platonic relationship type
-Genderbends are also welcome!
How to participate:
-Follow the tag #poto queer week 2024
-Contribute fanart, fanfiction, gif sets, fic rec compilations, headcanons, or anything else fannish that catches your fancy. AI works not encouraged.
-Anyone is invited to participate! There is no gatekeeping to this event, just the obvious if I have you blocked I won’t boost your contribution.
One year since POTO Broadway closed. My last performance was March 18, 2023.
Closing (and getting pretty sick for a few weeks and then subsequently spending a lot of time on the internet) really throttled me into Phandom, which has added so much to my life. It brought art and creativity back into my life, a reconnection with so much I’d forgotten I loved and missed.
Phantom WAS Broadway. It was meant to be in New York. I hope we see it again as soon as possible — which will likely be April 2026.
Jon Robyns (The Phantom), Lily Kerhoas (Christine Daaé) and Michael Colbourne (u/s Raoul, Vicomte de Chagny in The Phantom of the Opera, West End, January 2024
So excited to share these gifs as the “teaser trailer” for @or-what-you-will and @hyperfixatra’s new video, coming soon.
