You may think there is no life in the deepest depths of the earth, but you’d be wrong. Listen closely, and perhaps you hear whistling, or an echoing chuckle. Find a wooden shack, tucked into some corner of the world, and enter (it’s okay, he won’t mind if you visit). Find the hole in the floor that looks like it yawns down for eternity, and start descending the ladder.

The stones around you will be worn. If you put your hand against them as you go down, you’ll feel their smoothness. He traces the stones with his fingers as he descends into his mines, can’t help but to caress the earth like it’s someone he loves.

At the bottom of the ladder, because there is in fact a bottom, you’ll be faced with dizzying perfection, or at least as close as a man can get to symmetrical perfection. These are his mines, chests overflowing with minerals and rocks, and a simple bed pushed up against one corner. And an expanse of forever in front of you.

If you find him, and that’s if, because he’s quite hard to find, he’ll startle and jump, then assure you dryly that he did no such thing. And then he’ll cackle, so loud and full that the tunnel he’s made is full of his joyous voice. He’ll be the same as you remember, as you’ve been told. Long white beard and hair, pickaxe in hand. A man hard at work, doing what he loves.

Perhaps he’ll invite you up to his house on the surface after a while (“ugly thing, isn’t it? But it’s still four walls and a roof, so to me it’s the prettiest damn structure in the world!”) for some tea. He’ll complain about aches and pains, but he’ll make sure you have enough to eat and drink.

And then TFC will sit down, and smile at you.

“I’m glad you’re here. Doesn’t matter why or how or when, just that you’re here. Now we can both rest for a bit. Got time for a story?”

And maybe you’ll want to say something profound, sentimental. And you’ll get there, eventually. But TFC will begin to speak, telling stories of mining and adventure, with a cackling laugh that is just so, so infectious.

Today marks my 10-year anniversary with Ghira, and I still can't believe we've known each other for a full decade! And, since it's such a special occasion, I decided to include The Ravens as well because our little family unit would be incomplete without them 💖

I feel like I always say the same thing every year so I'll keep this short because I feel silly repeating myself all the time, but I'll always be so incredibly grateful and happy that he walked into my life when he did. I wouldn't be the person I am today without him, and the patience and love he has for me (and of course, I for him!) 😊 I never thought I'd make it this far in life, and to know he'll always be with me is a lovely and comforting thought, one I will treasure for the rest of my life.

perhaps this is me being shallow and i’m not trying to insinuate that every driver on the grid has to be gunning for a wdc but i don’t understand why anyone would turn down a rb contract at this stage? i mean if the rumours about alex refusing the seat are true i just… idk i know he’s been personally victimised by helmut marko before and been through the rb ringer but he’s a much better much more skilled and experienced driver right now and if it were me i’d personally want to test my skills against max. rb is the most coveted seat right now, it’s an opportunity to get regular podiums and even wins if max messes up or you’re simply faster. i don’t enjoy this “running from a fight” mentality (not saying that’s what alex is doing rn cause ofc there are other things at play) and it is in fact one of the reasons ****** sorta fell out of my favour. anyway i hope this makes sense haha not a native speaker, and not trying to be rude i just… don’t get it. i had similar thoughts about lando before, when horner said they’d talk to lando and then he’d only use that as leverage in his mclaren contracts. but baffling to me to come all the way to f1 after dedicating your life to it and then just going “nah” when you have the chance to be in the best car cause the other might be better than you. i mean when max got to rb daniel was the guy who had just pulverised 4-time wdc vettel, and you didn’t see him hesitte to jump in the car mid-season

when you sign a redbull contract now, you know you're effectively going to play second driver until 2028. yes Alex is a more complete driver now and would prob fare much better vs Max now, but he's also been through the RBR ringer like you said. going back would mean adjusting to an entirely new car while Max has only driven redbulls, AND getting scrutinised 2x because of his prev performance. anything below p2 is considered underperforming in the best car, and that's a lot of pressure and ofc your ego having to handle being "Max's bitch." pulling a rosberg against a generational talent is not easy. at Williams alex is personally more involved and treated as team leader and the car has improved from being the worst back marker to a solid midfielder, with Alex outdriving it.

also. job security in f1 is notoriously limited with 20 seats and rookies from f2 vying to get in. let's say alex goes to RBR. he either has to hope they let him drive until 2028 and finally get a shot at the championship (if 2026 regulations don't turn it into a junk box) and no second driver is getting a 5 year contract. Valtteri went from the best car to a backmark/midfielder. He's not even in question when silly season rolls around for the Ferraris and Bulls, despite being a solid second driver who picked off wins when Lewis dnf'd. they might scout him for Audi because they need an experienced driver for development. your career moving from the best car can only go Down. Alex already had a year off from f1 as a reserve driver when RB booted him, whatever choices he makes -- it'll be with a long term goal in mind.

Alex has said recently that if the Williams doesn't improve, he will look at other options -- as he should! He's being scouted by multiple teams. The improvements of the Aston Martin and even Mclaren have shown absolute backmarkers can become podium contending cars within a season! you'd prefer to succeed with a team that knows you and will accommodate to you than a top team where you're expected to play someone else's defense. Which brings me to lando. Lando is in the curious case Max was in 2017/18, where all the top teams were courting him. He had offers from Ferrari and Merc, while nobody knew if the RB Honda deal would work, and the RB was DNFing every other race. redbull convinced max to stay, that they'll develop the car around him and they will become a top team. I'm sure mclaren is doing the same to lando, that's the only team he's driven for and he's getting paid Very Well, the team principal is literally invested in his business, and they started this season around p19/p20, and finished it on podium. the results are there, why would he move to rbr to pick off max's crumbs?

do you know who absolutely did run from a fight? daniel. bc RB had no outright driver hierarchy in 2018, they literally stated they wanted to win a championship with daniel -- but max was too much of a rising star and daniel dipped, leaving the only team his career had anything notable from.

Romancing: In my main save with Eden, Wyll! And in the Dark Urge save, Gale. And in my heart... both. It's a polycule. And the polycule is a biiit more complicated than that even, with other characters involved, but point is. There's a lot of love going around here, of various flavors.

I imagine at least those three are married, though, and Eden takes both Wyll and Gale's surnames, distancing himself from his own family's legacy and forging a new one with these people he cares for so deeply.

Favorite Fruit: Raspberries! He likes to snack on them while he works.

Favorite Season: Spring! He likes seeing life return to the world after a long winter.

Favorite Flower: He'll say he's not one for flowers, but Eden has a fondness for Mountain Laurels.

Favorite Scent: In many ways, Eden is rather indifferent to smells and doesn't put much thought into picking a favorite. However, he has a fondness for woodsy scents, and a deep-seated aversion to smokey scents.

Coffee, Tea, or Hot Chocolate?: Coffee, all the way, but he has a fondness for a specific flavor of Waterdhavian tea Gale brews for them both sometimes. He's not exactly a connoisseur of tea, though, haha.

Average Sleep Hours: Far too few, haha. Eden tends to work himself to exhaustion rather frequently, and then keep going. Wyll and Gale have become experts at redirecting their husband's attention and convincing him to take a break and rest.

Dogs or Cats: Both! But I think Eden is overall more of a dog person, having grown up around them. Still, he adores Tara.

Dream Trip: When he was younger, Eden wanted to see Rosymorn Monastery, as his mother told him many stories of her studies there on her journey to becoming a cleric. However, as he got older, he became far more agnostic in his beliefs and the idea became much less appealing. He gave up on praying to Lathander after his mom's death, and now he feels mainly just... a vague sense of discomfort and grief when he thinks about the god he was raised with. This only got worse after seeing the monastery during his travels with the group.

So, now Eden wants to see Candlekeep. He desperately wants access to that expansive library and to learn all that he can. At heart, Eden hungers for knowledge above all else.

Amount of Blankets: So many. Eden is always on the chilly side, and that coupled with his chronic joint and muscle pain means he can only really sleep bundled up in a blanket nest. Wyll and Gale have had to make peace with their husband being a blanket hoarder.

Random Facts:

Yes, Eden has a fantasy phd. He basically got a degree in being a wizard... despite not having much ability to use magic himself. His magic is almost entirely from his warlock pact, as besides that he just can't use magic in the way a lot of other mages can.

He also has pretty serious chronic joint pain, made worse when he strains himself using his magic. It's a condition he inherited from his mother, and it's one he's learned to live with and how to accommodate for.

Eden's storyline is a mix of the normal tav story and the Dark Urge storyline. How so? Well. Before the adventure, Eden died, and he's only recently been resurrected at the start... minus many of his memories about who he is and what happened to him. So, on top of all the other shit going on, Eden has to figure out why his brain is full of holes.

Eden's father Abdiel is a very well-known and respected wizard, one that Gale actually was a fan of when he was younger. However, after seeing how horribly Abdiel treats Eden, Gale has left that adoration behind. Never meet your heroes, and all that.

(On a similar note, Wyll originally encouraged Eden to consider forgiving his father and reconnecting with him, which was the cause of a lot of conflict between them in the early days of their relationship. Eventually, though, Wyll came to understand *why* Eden doesn't want to forgive the man who traumatized him and abandoned him, and he respects and supports Eden's decision.)

(Gale and Wyll might or might not have an agreement to make sure Eden never has to even be in the same room as his father ever again. They'll keep him safe.)

she was a hunter in her clan and has the associated skills - patience, skill with a bow, quiet movement, etc. for hobbies, she reads when she can, and following the events of the game she trains a lot in her spare time

she has no concept of herself as an artist, or even a potential artist. if she tried anything she'd get frustrated with it really fast.

What is their comfort food? Do they cook it themselves?

interesting...! i think she'd enjoy warm, hearty meals. she's used to dalish dry foods (things that transport and keep well and are lightweight) and doesn't mind them, but isn't big on human rations. she's a stew kinda girl, really. and she can cook it herself but she's not that good at it. her food is very plain/bland.

An activity they like to do with their partner(s)/bestie(s)

she enjoys conversation a lot, at least when it's not about how to save the world. casual or deep, she just really enjoys discussions with the people she cares about. and while she's gotten used to having it less, she really appreciates physical, nonsexual affection - cuddling, hugging, holding hands, that kind of thing. through the course of the game she becomes more reserved and uneasy in that regard, but the underlying desire remains

Would they be able to lie their way through a card game?

it depends on who she's playing against lmao. a lot of people, yes. someone like bull, varric, leliana, vivienne, or solas? no.

With no regards as to whether it exists or is realistic, what would they want as a pet/companion?

something big and furry. i'm thinking a bear or a wolf. she gets cold easily and would appreciate something warm to cuddle with.

Do they have a night-time ritual? Does this differ if they are at their own residence vs somewhere else (e.g. camping)?

pre-game, in her clan: she'd help make sure everything was set up for the night and take a watch, but otherwise she had a limited routine. basic hygiene stuff - clean her face, clean her teeth in some canon-friendly way, etc, then just crawl into her bedroll during game: veryyy limited because she was regularly exhausted, only the most basic hygiene, armor off, in bed. and when she tried to help out at haven/skyhold people always rushed to assist her since she was the ~herald~ then the ~inquisitor~ and shouldn't be bothering with the mundane labor (which she is so ???? about), so she eventually stopped, although she still pitches in when she's out in the field setting up camp post game: brushes her hair, washes up, checks repeatedly on her daughter revas, sometimes ends up reading a bit in bed

What is in their inventory?

bandages, hunter's gear (carving knives, etc), extra blankets because she gets cold easily. she's used to carrying enough gear to sustain herself during long periods of hunting, but it takes her a while to realize that she should carry enough to help others, too, so her pack slowly fills out more

Their preferred dress in these settings: Daily, formal, casual/bedding down

daily: lightweight, unrestrictive, modest clothing. she prefers wools and layers for warmth, particularly during the course of the game because haven and skyhold are COLD. formal: for the winter palace she yielded to what josie thought was best, but given free reign she'd have wanted a long dress. high-necked, long-sleeved, and green would be her preference. she's not good at theorizing about fashion, but she would have been drawn to something that was highly detailed with embroidery or beadwork casual/bedding down: long-sleeved shirt and a lighter one over the top, leggings and breeches. the lighter shirt and breeches come off for bedtime, but the other layers stay on

After the events of the Main Plot, did your OC go back home, or reunite with their people from before? Why / why not? If they did, then did they bring any new friends/partners with them?

she traveled to wycome to visit her clan a few times, but did not stay - although she wanted to. she still feels incredibly close with them, but after the reveal during trespasser, she also feels fundamentally different. she kept her vallaslin, but her faith has been deeply shaken and she's unwilling to burden her clan with the pain she's going through in regards to it. she did bring solas and revas to visit them, though. they figured solas was a city elf and neither of them dissuaded the clan from that notion.

How did your OC deal with permanent injuries/changes/trauma gained from their story, if any?

the loss of her arm shook her deeply and she honestly hasn't really let herself grieve or be angry about it. instead she just keeps pushing forward - as soon as she was healed enough, she began training with cullen to learn how to use a sword instead. eventually her grief will no longer be something she can push aside, but for now she keeps it at bay with activity she also refuses to wear a prosthetic. she pins her sleeves up - during warmer weather she wears sleeveless shirts as well, but she still gets chilled easily so she prefers the layers

Ooooohhhh so fucking many! That I've been neglecting to draw or think about because my brain has been eaten by hylics brain worms, so some of these drawings are a litttleee old pardon that.

Starting with humans then delving into my bigger freaks (affectionate)

Okay favorite children first! This is Scrape, they/it. I originally made them as a Jojo oc but now they're really outside of it, but they do have a stand named Everything is a Lot. They have pointy ears because that was part of my art style at the time and i just dont think i could separate it from that. Their whole thing is that it was raised in a highly religious and abusive household that it ran away from at the age of 16, leaving their little brother Ami behind (more on him later). They then fell into a life of drugs and shit. Eventually they're reunited with Ami but at some point I'll make a post about their whole sibling lore..

And here's Ami their brother (he/they) He was also initially a jojo oc so has a stand but like I said I mostly moved away from that I just like the designs. He grew up to be a music director at church <3 (couldn't find recent colored art so enjoy this minecraft skin of them)

Speaking of Jojo ocs, this is my jojo oc who actually has to stay in the media, Joshua Jostar, he/him. He wasn't originally going to be a Joestar, just some random stand user so I could use a funny stand I came up with in a crack rp, but my friend made another character imply he was one so I ran with it. His stand is Under Pressure and it doesn't have a humanoid form, it's just a balloon that can inflate inside of any open space that upon inflating is full of cement.

Then there's my guy EGG he/they. He is nonverbal autistic but does know sign language. It's kinda funny to me that they're the one who kinda stuck around when I originally made them as just another character to have to be one I liked more at the time's ex. I think he mostly grew on me because my friend liked him a lot more than the other guy. The other guy is named Apollyon but I have NO GOOD ART OF HIM and his lore is kinda cringe bc I haven't worked on it in like 4 years so he doesn't get his own segment.

So not human but closer than some of the other ocs I have are a couple of angels! I don't really have that in depth of a story to them yet, but they came to me in a dream.. there's other characters associated with them too but I've only really drawn this one. He can't remember his actual name but the kid he interacts with calls him Peppermint. The angels will be enimes to lovers and they will make out sloppy style in the end.

Okay nonhuman time. First I have a couple of Khajit (I think I spelled that right) ocs that are distantly related, who don't really have lore they were just my characters in skyrim and oblivion

And then there's my object head ocs! Eyelyn doesn't have any lore she's just a cool eye lady she/it/xe. And then there's Persistence based on Persistence of Memory he/it/xe. I ran out of picture room but will give pictures of them in the rbs if asked!

I will go much further in depth about any these guys if asked ofc hehe, just didn't wanna go on for toooo long. I also just have a lot of general guys freaks I float around in my head that haven't all been given a form or name yet, just goofy concepts. Like Ami has a bf! But I have to think more about what the guy is like and what he looks like..

i can’t lie tho, i would absolutely eat up all the 4433 content but i think things would turn dramatic pretty quick.. people would definitely start making more fics about them angry fucking and falling in love in the meantime which is a trope i love and will never get bored of so that’d be nice 😋

lewis was like ain't no way y'all will see me cruising in a williams. if anything i'll go to fucking red bull.

don't forget that, if i remember correctly, red bull is the most diverse team on the grid. so within the team i think it'd be generally ok. sure, they won't reasily forgive him for his 2021 crimes (and neither should lewis forgive red bull) but i do think that, if not mercedes, red bull would be a good option. and yeah. it's highly, highly unlikely. but it is a very smart strategical move from him to pressure mercedes for his renewed contract!

and yeah the fans won't be nice either, you're right. but in the end it should only depend on how both max and lewis would be able to position themselves toward each other and toward the race wins/wdcs.

i'm not so sure if it would be so dramatic! call me optimistic, sure, but i think it 100% depends on what lewis and max's mindsets are in regards to the team and the wdcs. and how the team principal will manage this all and keep them in line. if lewis can put aside his dream for an 8th and be more than happy with regular podiums and occasional wins, then this could word. max is also a very good teammate, according to carlos/daniel/alex/pierre/checo, so i think they can get along. however, once on track, it'll be mad.

but YEAH THE FICS WILL BE GREAT AMAZING CHEF'S KISS. why do we need the canon transfer for it. c'mon now, everyone! write the fics! be delusional with me!

this post is making me have thoughts but i dun wanna rb

so like

makeup and “fashion that’s purpose is to make you look sexy” is something i used to be feel the pressure of like, 24/7 as a teen. just constant awareness of this standard i was always failing to meet even when i tried and there was no opting out of the system. and until my last big attempt at repression, i was resisting it constantly, only wearing clothes that hid my body and not wearing makeup as long as i could resist the pressure to. i hated those specific aspects of our cultures femininity so much, that now i get insane gender euphoria just from the fact i wear almost no makeup these days (eyebrow filler doesn't count lololol), and the knowledge that straight men don’t want to fuck me. 

ive had friends irl ask if i watch drag race (ofc) and if id ever do drag and honestly, maybe, maybe never! because such a fundamental part of drag is those two things ive spent my developmental years getting pushed on me from every direction. i hate the physical sensation of wearing makeup, and i instinctively don’t want to make myself sexually appealing to others (unless i get to be a disgusting freak doing it but that's different - i like being an acquired taste)

so the idea of trans mascs having an avenue of gender expression where it is the expected norm that you will wear makeup and sexualize yourself for the public gaze, like, you understand why some of us don’t want to be in that spot, and don’t like feeling like we’re being pushed back there, right? why we’d want a spot to express ourselves and sure, be sexual, but in a way that would never want to be called “feminine” and exists for queer men like ourselves first and foremost?

and at this point, im totally aware im just projecting my own baggage onto drag and complaining that mainstream drag isn’t more masculine, which like, fuckin duh this is a stupid grievance

this is me coming out as someone who doesn’t really like drag and just wants a seedy gay bar named something like Hole in a nearby town. .. omg im so glad to get that off my chest i hope you guys still accept me
