Congratulations on the new number of subscribers. Surely I am one of them. So this is the prompt for your tiny giveaway.. I love ShikaTema, in the mood for AU and angsty storyline, but I choose I don't have time to bleed as the main one. Thank you for all your wonderful stories, you are one of my favourites of shikatema writer. I hope you always be in abundance of happiness, imagination, and creativity.
Oh, thank you, dear Anon 🖤 I am glad to hear you're subbed to me (and sorry for the lack of new fics...).
You said you're in the mood for an AU and angsty storyline and then I cannot not write a snip of that blasted Witcher AU that has lived rent free in my head since 2020. The snip here would most likely not be part of the main story in my head, but connected to it.
Thank you 🥰

“I’ve seen you in better shape,” Temari snorted when she closed in on Shikamaru. “I found this downstairs,” she added and waved with his silver sword. “They had taken good care of it. Were probably going to melt it and recast it as a silver chain, I’d wager.”
“You holding it doesn’t suit you,” Shikamaru replied through a tired smile. The blood from his nose had already dried along his upper lip and he was deadly annoyed at being in this position, trapped and bound by a pillar in some kind of attic just because one decoction failed and made him temporarily blind as the gang had caught up on him. During normal circumstances it would never have happened. He’s more skilled that this.
“I know,” Temari said and dropped the sword by Shikamaru’s feet. Her hands were splashed with blood – someone else’s blood, but the blade was shiningly clean. She observed her own hands. “As long as I didn’t touch the silver it worked. The hilt saved me.” She looked down at him. “Being bound in simple rope doesn’t suit you either.” Then she grinned and crouched down in front of him. “Or does it? I may like this position of yours.”
“For fucks’ sake, get me out of this, succubus,” Shikamaru muttered, but not even he could deny the slightest fun idea Temari’s suggestion gave him.
Temari reached over and her claw-like fingers worked fast on the rope, slicing it open so Shikamaru could get up.
“Why are you here anyway?” she asked after throwing the rope away. “Lost a game of Gwent? I thought you agreed never to contact me again, yet here I stumble upon you.”
“So I see you smelled me from quarters away, huh. And remember, I never gave any such promises,” Shikamaru said as he got up. His sturdy leather gloves were lying on the floor, and he dressed them on. Unlike the succubus Temari, he didn’t have claws, so this was next best protection. “I am assuming you killed them?”
“Of course,” Temari muttered. “They were part of the fanatics. Eternal Fire and all that crap. Which is why I am surprised you came here when you know they’ll prosecute you, mutant, for even existing. I told you to live a life –”
“Which is why I am surprised you’ve not run away yet,” Shikamaru shot back and placed the silver sword on his back. “When you know the Eternal Fire will kill you for existing. I saw it just yesterday at the square. I saw them burn someone at the stake, and who knows if she was a proper sorceress or not, but now nothing but crisps remain of her corpse. And people applauded.”
“This is my home,” Temari said, voice hard. She stared out of the window, down at the muddy, miserable street below them which was filled with activity. Beggers, merchants, washers, whores, children and cats. The horns sticking out of her head was visible in her reflection. “I lived here before the fanatics came, before that blasted Eternal Fire poisoned everyone’s mind. We created a home here, my family and I.”
“Listen Temari,” Shikamaru said and grabbed her shoulders. “The life you told me to live? I am a witcher. My life means risking it every minute of every day. People hire me to kill monsters and not all monsters are like you. Elementals can smash my skull into mush with one strike if I am not careful, leshens impale me with branches if I am one step behind and specters suck out my soul if I don’t oil my blade before encountering them. This is my life. But you, you have the power to change your life. Do not live here, risking your life every minute of every day – “
“So join me,” Temari said, cutting him off. Shikamaru stared at her and followed her down the wonky stairs. They walked over bodies lying in the staircase and he found his steel sword stuck into the back on one of the red-dressed dead men. Fanatics, not even soldiers by trade. He ripped the sword out and tugged a piece of cloth from the man to clean it from blood.
“No,” he continued. “Skellige is safe for your kind. I know the queen of Skellige, she’ll allow you shelter.”
“Skellige,” Temari echoed when they reached the lowest floor. “A freezing island in the middle of a freezing sea.” She pulled her hands out to exposed her mostly naked upper body, where her tattoos and markings made up a huge hourglass and different swirls. “I want to live in the warmth.”
“I know succubi who live on Skellige,” Shikamaru said and looked down at Temari’s legs which were covered in fur. “They survive just fine. Put on a jacket, maybe.”
“You don’t command me,” Temari hissed and stared out of the window of the door. “Join me, I said. Join me as we rid my beloved city of the plague.”
“And kill the fanatic king in the same breath, huh?” Shikamaru joked. Temari smiled.
“I could cry blood out of fury for all my brothers and sisters who has been prosecuted and killed since the fanatism started,” she said before turning around. “But I don’t have time to bleed. It’s time to put an end to the prosecution of magicians and non-humans. I can kill a king for it if it gives me my freedom back. Shikamaru, why did you come to Novigrad?”
Shikamaru couldn’t give her an honest reply. Temari smiled thinly.
“So help me, witcher,” she said. “You kill monster for hire. So, join me when we kill the true monster in our city. The king himself.”

Here's my poster of my official version of my version for my DisneyElseWorld's Pixar's...
INSIDE OUT 2!
Tumblr media
I saw the new Inside Out 2 trailer, and they made Anxiety, Ennui, Embarrassment, and Envy bad by betraying the old emotions. Lots of crazy stuff is about to happen! We don't know what's going on, lots of details are there too. But what would the ElseWorld version be like?
SO!
For my idea. I have 6 new emotions, the OC emotions like, Courage, Surprise, Pride, Trust, Shame, and Frustration.
MAIN VILLAIN
I am using on of my oc's Ego de Spite, to be the main villain of the au second movie.
OTHER CHARACTERS
Characters like Zee, the assistant of Ego, she runs the business with him but she tries to avoid him to help others. Bud, Courage's blood cell buddy, he doesn't speak but he's sweet, nervous, cute and got some attitude. And Brain, the big boss of Riley's mind, and the emotions need his help to stop Ego. And Mother Esteem, sweet old mind lady but very big (Disclaimer: Not in the poster).
Returning Cast like...
Amy Poehler as Joy, Bill Hader as Fear (YES! I'm bringing Bill Hader back! He's so much funnier then I expected), Lewis Black as Anger, Phyllis Smith as Sadness, Kensington Tallman as Riley, Diane Lane as Mrs. Andersen, and Kyle MacLachlan as Mr. Andersen.
Recast Alert!
I actually like Liza Lapira playing Disgust. After what Mindy Kaling did in Velma, it wasn't enough for me. Because the show and her are piles of shit to me.
With All-Star Cast like...
Chris Pratt (The LEGO Movie 2) as the new outside leader emotion Courage, Sam Richardson (Hocus Pocus 2) as Surprise, Kate McKinnon (Ferdinand & Saturday Night Live) as Frustration,
Andrew Rannells (Trolls Band Together) as Trust, Randall Park (Ant-Man And The Wasp) as Pride, Jim Cummings (Winnie the Pooh) as Shame, Nicholas Hoult (the X-Men films & Underdogs) as the villainous and hilarious, Ego de Spite,
Aubrey Plaza (Monsters At Work) as Ego's sarcastic female assistant, Zee, Michael Cera (Barbie & Superbad) as Ego's nerd assistant, Yes Man, Peter Sohn (Ratatouille & Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse) as The emotions new blood cell buddy, Bud, Wanda Sykes (the Ice Age films) as Mother Esteem,
with David Wain (The Bob's Burgers Movie) as Chairman the Mind Councilman, Yvette Nicole Brown (Drake & Josh) as Riley's middle school P.E. coach, Ms. Roberts, Brady Noon (TMNT: Mutant Mayhem) as Jordan, Jack Bright (The Good Dinosaur) as Riley's bully, Francis, & Alfred Molina (Monsters University, Gravity Falls & the Spider-Man films) as the smart, wise cracking, and big-headed mind boss himself, Brain.

We need to talk about X-Men '97!
October 31st, 1992, saw the release of the iconic X-Men animated series. It quickly gained praise and viewership from its audience. For years, it has been regarded as one of the most high-quality animated adaptations.
This year, the X-Men Animated Series finally gains a sequel; X-Men '97. The next chapter in Marvel's Uncanny Mutants is only halfway through its season. Its journey is only just beginning, and it has already gained praise from critics.
Welcome to the House of Milesverse. Today, we will be talking about X-Men '97, and its growing impact. I hope you enjoy the read and remember to (SNIKT) leave a comment or suggestion, bub.
WARNING. THERE WILL BE SPOILERS.
'97's story:
Tumblr media
Unsurprising to anyone, '97 picks up a year after the events of the last episode. With Charles Xavier gone, Cyclops has taken full reins over the team. The X-Men are facing off against new and dangerous challenges.
'97 has a timeless vibe to its story, almost as if you never left. These are still the same characters as they were before. The X-Men's lore and story within the animated continuity have not changed.
Much like its predecessor, '97 also provides some interesting adaptations. For an example, look no further than Madelyne Pryor, the clone of Jean Grey. In just one episode, the series condensed the events of her story.
Another good example is their destruction of Genosha. Watching it play out on the screen was such a shocker. Its destruction was carried out by Cassandra Nova in the comics. Interestingly enough, she's completely absent from the series, with this being a conspiracy done by Bolivar Trask.
The X-Men have been missed.
Tumblr media
Dear X-Men, we have missed you.
X-Men's animated series is in line with other serious, action-heavy stories from that time. Their story focuses on the message of hate, and the real-world issues it can relate to. The persecution that mutants feel has often been used to represent various minority groups across history.
In addition, the original series combined that with beautifully made animation. The action scenes have been well-remembered by fans for years. The animated series has become such a beloved part of the animated media circle within comic books. For anyone who's a fan of our merry mutants, they definitely have spent some time with this show.
97 has proven to be a perfect follow-up by many fans. In just two episodes, 97 was able to impress the audience. It's following in the footsteps of its predecessor. X-Men 97's acclaim and interest can only rise, especially thanks to it's renewal.
What's so different?
Tumblr media
These may be the same mutants you have met, but their voices are not. Some of the actors, such as Norm Spencer (the original voice for Cyclops) unfortunately passed away over the years. Others have been recast to play different characters.
Here are what I feel are the most notable additions:
Cyclops is now voiced by Ray Chase, well known for being the voice of numerous characters such as Noctis Lucis Caelum (FF15), Bruno Bucciarati (JoJo's Bizarre Adventure), Tengen Uzui (Demon Slayer), Roy (Fire Emblem), and the Master of Masters (Kingdom Hearts)
Jean Grey (and Madelyne Pryor) is now voiced by Jennifer Hale, well known for being the voice of Commander Shepherd (Mass Effect), Princess Morbucks (Powerpuff Girls), and one of the Hex Girls, Thorn (Scooby-Doo). It's also worth noting that Jennifer Hale reprises the role, as she initially had it during Wolverine and the X-Men.
Gambit is an interesting case, as his prior voice actor, Chris Potter, is now playing Cable. He's instead voiced by A.J. LoCascio, who does voice work for both Prince Lotor (Voltron: Legendary Defender) and Marty McFly (Back To The Future: The Game).
Speaking of? Cable is voiced by Chris Potter now, whose done work as Peter Caine (Kung-Fu: The Legend Continues), and Evan Owen (The Young and The Restless).
Cable's old voice actor was Lawrence Bayne, but he was replaced by Chris Potter. Ironically enough, Lawrence Bayne plays a new character who debuts in the same episode as Cable's birth, The X-Cutioner. Lawrence Bayne is known as the voice of Gill (Street Fighter III: Third Strike) and Raven (Gargoyles).
Lastly? Jubilee's old voice actress, Alyson Court, wanted someone of Asian descent to portray her. That is where Holly Chou comes in, acting as the new voice of Jubilee. She did the voice work for Akame (Like A Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name). It is also worth noting that Alyson Court acted as the voice of an older Jubilee in an episode, named Abscissa.
As you can see, a lot has changed with the voice cast of the X-Men series. Some characters who were voiced by older actors had been replaced. Others, like Cal Dodd (The voice of Wolverine) and Alison-Sealy Smith (The voice of Storm) still reprise their iconic roles.
While much has changed? At the end of the day, these new actors all still portray the spirit of the character. Ray Chase for example makes for a standout, with how closely he sounds to Norm Spencer's Cyclops.
What to look forward to & Conclusion
Tumblr media
X-Men '97 is heating up, and we are already almost at the end. If you haven't checked it out yet, then I recommend it. The series is short, but its episodes all have a distinct impact and role. They not only move the plot forward but also help the characters to grow.
My hope is that Superhero Animation swings back into full gear. I remember as a kid it felt like it was practically already there. From the 90s to the 2000s, you could not miss it. The DC Animated Universe, for example, stands out as one of the best superhero animation projects. An entire generation grew up on those stories, and those adventures.
X-Men shows that its importance and value to people matters. Much like the DCAU, it raised so many children and was their first introduction to the X-Men. It stands out as one of the most iconic superhero action cartoons ever, and frankly? It's earned its title.
I think the future of superhero animation is steadily climbing back up. We have had great animated series, such as Invincible, Moon Girl & Devil Dinosaur, My Adventures with Superman, and now? X-Men '97.
This has been a wonderful episode of House of MilesVerse. I hope you join us for a deep dive into our favorite robots in disguise. I'll be doing a full review of Transformers: Earthspark.
And? If you didn't know it, then now you know. We'll chronicle some adventures of Moon Girl & Devil Dinosaur.

1962 X-Men: First Class
X-Men!
A few changes for the ISC MCU version.
Moira and Hank work for S.H.I.E.L.D., not CIA. While they have been aware of powered people and mermen etc (and the dialogue should change to reflect this), they were not aware of a new type of human.
Alex Summers (Havok) is actually 15 pretending to be 18 so he can be tried and incarcerated as an adult as he thinks this is safer for everyone. Before his arrest Alex was living with his young divorcee mom (36), who went back to her maiden name, Summers. Dad disappeared.
The mutant gene can be carried or passed by either parent btw.
Angel could wear a halter neck as she does later on so she doesn't need to go topless to show them her power.
Darwin is a scientist/engineer instead of a taxi driver. And he DOESN'T DIE! He can't die, he just adapts, that's his whole thing. He eventually adapts to Havok's energy blast and survives, but is severely injured. We see his body's miraculous recovery during the training montage. OR…he just shoots Shaw back and Shaw's like…'Well, we could do this all day. Toodles.'
Moira helps the first class with fight training (except Charles, he is "not a fighter").
Must find a way to get Darwin and Angel Salvatore more involved with the plot. Give Angel some proper motivation for switching sides and some dialogue afterwards.
Recast Emma with Margot Robbie and give her more attitude and agency.
Eric does not kiss Raven as he just said she is too young for him and noted that she is just trying to get back at Hank for something. He still says that her natural form is nothing to be ashamed of, but they do not have a romantic relationship. Moira is revealed early on as a mutant and has a vast wealth of knowledge from several lifetimes. She knew she had been reincarnated but didn't know it was due to a mutation. She agrees to not go back to X-mansion so as not to give game away. And that means you can cut the '...a kiss...' line. She will be pleasantly surprised to see Charles in Apocalypse instead of mind wiped. It's best you forget about me er, us etc. adds Charles but without the mind wipe.

Cinema Starview Presents: The Legacy of T’Challa
Tumblr media
I just got done watching Wakanda Forever, and all I’ve got to say is that, this movie was a beautiful love letter to Chadwick Boseman’s T’Challa. This review will be a little short, contain some spoilers, and just overall my opinion on why I’m glad they did the movie this way.
Shuri’s journey throughout the film is an incredible tale of a young princess watching her entire family die right in front of her, leaving her to be the sole survivor and heir to the throne (or so we think). The opening to the movie shows us a stressed Shuri trying to find a rapid cure to help save her brother, T’Challa from a mysterious illness. Then later towards the middle of the movie, Queen Rawanda dies from drowning after saving when our underwater mutant villain, Namor, strikes Wakanda with his soldiers. The backstory of Namor, it was so cool how much the Talokans share similarities to the Wakandans, from the heart shape herbs to both nations having vibranium as a precious resource world governments want colonize. I’d love if in the future we get a movie where both nations come together to protect vibranium from the hands of a big evil. If Dr. Doom has any involvement with this, that’ll be 10x more amazing. It’s important to remember that this movie shows us how that minorities are always combating against each other and within our own communities, when the real enemy are the colonizers and governments that continuously steal from our own. I do hope they focus on that in a future BP movie along with a Namor movie.
Tumblr media
But back to Shuri, the scene where she took the purple herb and was transported to the Ancestral Plane, her conversation with Killmonger. It was touching how much her similarities to him were of battling that need for revenge vs. trying to be passive and forgive. Even her suit has gold and silver accents that are mirrors of both T’Challa and Killmonger’s suits. I loved that slight touch to Shuri’s suit and even her portrayal in this movie. From being the tech girl in the background in the first film to now being in the forefront with a complex hero arc.
Tumblr media
The introduction of Riri being an MIT student who created a machine to locate vibranium… can we say YOUNG PRODIGY ALERT!!! We definitely needed her in this film as the lighthearted comic relief, as well as Mr. Thicc Legz himself M’Baku, those two really made this movie somewhat lighthearted amidst all of the grief and sadness. Knowing that Riri’s show will be about the battle of technology vs. magic and she’s going against the whole Hood (pun intended) I’ll be invested to see where her character arc translates from this movie to her series.
Tumblr media
// ⛔️ SPOILERS ⛔️ // So, Nakia & T’Challa had a son together!!! This is sooo exciting, because there’s so much that can happen from this alone. Toussaint aka T’Challa Jr. or TJ is definitely gonna take on the role as Black Panther in the next few years. I wonder if they’re gonna age him up so that he can take on the mantle a bit sooner, or if they’ll just wait for him to get a little bit older to join the Young Avengers.
Lastly, I know there was a lot of uproar on Kevin & Ryan not wanting to go about recasting T’Challa, while some fans wanted this to happen, others wanted a new actor to take on the mantle. The reason why I personally never liked the idea of recasting, is because T’Challa meant A LOT to many black people, and it was one of the most important and beautiful films about our people in YEARS. Every black film is either a trauma film, or a ghetto struggle film, Black Panther was the first film where we actually saw ourselves in a fantasy superhero world and the mix of afrofuturism and African royalty all mixed together in one. T’Challa meant a lot — and still does to everyone, especially black people. So, the idea of recasting him, to move on from Chadwick’s passing with a new actor that wouldn’t have made the same impact… it would’ve felt like pouring sugar on an open wound.
Plus, Chadwick passed when we were in the middle of the pandemic — we’ve all lost loved ones in the past 2, 3, 5, 7 years that we still haven’t fully moved on from. I know from experience that grief isn’t easy, and it never gets better, and you never fully move on. That’s what this movie symbolizes. That is the beauty of this movie in my eyes. This movie is grief perservering as Vision says. I’m hopeful for the future of the franchise and I do hope Letitia does decide to stay for a few more movies. Her role as Shuri was really amazing!! This movie was just extremely sad, but it was an important movie to hurdle over.
Tumblr media
Also, just to make men upset… if you’re mad about this movie having black women take on bigger roles, and being the main characters, I’m gonna need for you to look deeper into yourself and figure out why your masculinity is so fragile anytime women take the lead. If you are genuinely mad about women taking the lead, please croak. Thank you very much.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: Secret of the Ooze (1991)
Tumblr media
While I didn't enjoy this film, that doesn't mean you won't. No matter what I say, the people involved in this project did it: they actually made a movie. That's something to be applauded. With that established...
To a certain extent, children who are fans of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles will be happy to see ANY rendition of their favorite characters but a part of their subconscious will realize Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: Secret of the Ooze is an inferior sequel. It’s less violent and more kid-friendly, which means uppity parents will be pleased. Well, being pleased is a stretch. The quality of the writing ensures no one will be satisfied.
In New York City, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles - Leonardo (voiced by Brian Tochi), Donatello (voiced by Adam Carl), Michelangelo (voiced by Robbie Rist), and Raphael (voiced by Laurie Faso) - are searching for a new home with the help of news reporter April O’Neil (Paige Turco this time) while their sensei, Master Splinter (Kevin Clash), begs them to remain hidden. When The Shredder (played by François Chau, voiced by David McCharen) returns, he forces Professor Jordan Perry (David Warner) to use the same ooze that created the turtles on a pair of ferocious animals: the first members of his mutant army.
Right away, it’s a disappointment to see April O’Neil recast and the absence of Elias Koteas as Casey Jones - the character doesn't even get mentioned. Also frustrating is the new kid sidekick who hangs out with the turtles: a pizza delivery boy and martial arts expert named Keno (Ernie Reyes Jr.). Our heroes already have a human friend. Why do they need another?
The most striking difference from the first picture is the overall tone of The Secret of the Ooze. The first movie might not have been fantastic - the four adolescent reptiles were basically interchangeable, the villains bland, there’s a long stretch in the middle where they retreat to a cabin in the countryside that’s as dull as a normal turtle practicing karate - but at least it had ambition. The movie wanted to be awesome. It wanted you to take the action and the premise seriously. It knew kids watching wanted the movie to be what they imagined it would be: a “grown-up” version of what they saw on TV. Director Michael Pressman doesn't even try. The jokes are so bad, so juvenile you'll want to crawl inside your shell and die of embarrassment. The gags make the villains complete non-threats, which robs the plot of any tension. TMNT II is a perfect example of the conservation of ninjutsu rule: the more ninjas on-screen, the less effective they are.
The most baffling aspect of this film is the titular "secret". There comes a point when our heroes get their hands on a canister of the green liquid (whose technical name is apparently “ooze”) and are crushed when they learn their inception was an accident. Well of course it was! You were raised in a sewer! By a rat! You spend your time hiding in the shadows! Did you think you were anything BUT a mistake of creation?!
Oh right. The animal monsters that supposedly pose a threat. They don’t. In another example of bad writing, the creatures - Tokka and Rahzar (not Beebop and Rocksteady, which means another disappointment for the fans) - are initially rejected by The Shredder. He doesn’t think they’re intelligent enough because he expected them to emerge not only super-strong and ferocious but also with genius-level intelligence despite being alive for less than a day. Oh, and then we get ANOTHER explanation for their stupidity: seems Professor Perry tampered with the mutagen to ensure they would be intellectual nincompoops. Because one reason wasn’t enough?
To throw some compliments in its direction, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II once again features impressive costumes/special effects and decent fight choreography considering the restrictions the performers were under. It has the occasional funny gag and if you wanted a less violent movie, you got it. Will this outweigh the horror of an impromptu rap number by Vanilla Ice? I’ll let you decide.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Secret of the Ooze is a major letdown. It also fails to give fans of the characters what they want and suffers from a major lack of ambition. This plot is so basic you’ll be bored. Well, when you’re not groaning at the deluge of corny gags. (January 1, 2021)

Are you conflicted about "The New Adventures of He man" as well? Because while I LOVED that series' take on Skeletor, it was still really scummy of Mattel to not recast the old actors. That and all the good guys sans Sagitar were just a bunch of boring humans, while the Mutants were over there looking fabulously unique.
I have no idea what was going on behind the scenes that would have made it scummy to recast the old actors for He-Man, Skeletor and Sorceress. Maybe the animation studio (Jetlag) wasn't American and there were different union rules? Garry Chalk (Optimus Primal, but then Man-At-Arms in 2002) was He-Man, and I vaguely remember hearing that the Beast Transformers cartoons had to draw from the Canadian actors' guild.
All the boring humans were definitely a point against it. MotU started with a bunch of humans but made Adam, Man-At-Arms, Teela and the Sorceress feel like an extended family, while the NA humans felt like a Costco pack of straight men for the Mutants to bounce off of.
Skeletor was great and it was interesting how they made the most evil non-Skeletor character a woman.
Tumblr media
Flogg is a military leader who, while he's supposed to be a bad guy in a simple Good vs Evil story, turns out to be sympathetic and just seeking a fair peace treaty, like any number of people in real-world conflict zones who commit worse atrocities than they would have shown in a 1990 cartoon. And Slush Head was even more humanized, inviting the good guys to his wedding!

Black Panther Wakanda Forever
Tumblr media
On August 28th we lost one of the entertainment industry’s most phenomenal talents in Chadwick Boseman, the man who brought T’Challa the original Black Panther to life. His dedication to the role cannot be understated, which makes Kevin Feige’s decision to not recast the role divisive yet understandable. I have a personal connection with this franchise myself, but more on that later, for now let’s discuss Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.
Taking place after the events of Endgame, the film begins with the nation of Wakanda mourning the loss of King T’Challa who fell ill of a heart condition. With the nation coming to grips with this devastating loss, Princess Shuri buries herself in her work to numb the pain. After a year has passed, Wakanda is faced with threats from many sides; the UN who is relentlessly urging the nation to share their virbranium resources with the rest of the world and as well as a new threat, the oceanic nation of Tlālōcān, lead by the mutant king Ku’Kul’Kan also known as Namor. After UN attempts to seek Tlālōcān’s
Vibranium supply using a device created by prodigy Riri Williams, the submariner and his people take it as a declaration of war. Namor gives Wakanda an ultimatum, surrender Williams or be crushed by his kingdom’s might.
This film was some of the best works that Ryan Coogler has done, not to discount anything in his resume of course. You can tell he put his heart into it from the script alone; it felt like a beautiful tribute to his late throughout the film’s runtime.
The overarching themes of grief and forgiveness resonate strongly in this movie, especially in Shuri’s character arc, played excellently by Letitia Wright. Danai Gurira brought a lot more depth in her performance as Okoye, her character is put through so much, but all for the sake of giving her more agency. Returning cast members Angela Bassett, Martin Freeman, Winston Duke, and Lupita Nyong’o exercised their grief in their performances as well, especially with the tears that were shed over T’Challa. Newcomer Tenoch Huerta captured the duality of Namor beautifully, a prime example of Chaotic Good if I ever saw it; every action his character took (no matter how violent) was towards the betterment of his people. Dominique Thorne, who played Riri Williams, was likable enough but didn’t leave a huge impression on me; here’s hoping she’s able to bring more substance to her character in the upcoming IronHeart series. I also was delighted to see Michela Coel in this film; she’s one of my favorite black actresses and brought some of her fantastic comedic timing to the role.
The set pieces were as stunning as ever, but the soundtrack, while amazing, pales in comparison to its predecessor. Also, the cgi was a huge step from the original, but it’s a learning process, so I can’t fault anyone for it. I can’t praise the fight choreography enough; as someone with a martial arts background, I live for this stuff, and to put the fights into words would not do them justice.
So this movie had me crying by end, and that’s because my birthday is August 28th; the same day that Chadwick Boseman died of cancer. His death left a profound impact on my life, and much like Shuri, I found myself processing the loss related to his death; I felt like I had lost a family member but through this film, I was able to finally let go of my own grief. As the tears streamed down my face, I smiled at this cinematic celebration of the life of one of Hollywood’s most prolific actors.
Thank you, Ryan Coogler and more so thank you Chadwick Boseman.
I give Black Panther: Wakanda Forever a 4 out of 5.

Am I the only one who’s wondering why Marvel is doing Secret Wars so soon? Secret Wars (the comic) is a literal reset/reboot of marvel.
And why is there no news about Shang Chi, the Eternals, etc??? Like are they forgetting about those characters? And why is Phase 5 ENDING so soon if we’re not yet in it? Black Panther 2 ends P4 in November and Phase 5 ends summer 2024. That’s LESS THAN 2 YEARS. And why is the new Captain America movie named after a conspiracy created by the Nazis? And why- yeah, I’m not gonna rant anymore. I’m just a bit disappointed in marvel.
this is a longer post so grab some snacks :) i’m posting from mobile so i can’t put the “read more”
my thoughts ab the announcements is that Marvel still plans to have big announcements for the D23 expo next in September. that’s a rumor i heard at least. now that could only be specific to casting announcements, official returns, etc but i think marvel has stuff saved for that. feige has also hinted at getting mutants and x-men but hadn’t said anything other than the animated series.
the cap thing makes me think of tfaws ep 1 bc they have the same title.
Tumblr media
i know the flag smasher storyline seemingly wrapped up but what if it didn’t? what if they try to blame same for karli’s death? but this could also loop red skull back into the mix and an attempted hydra revival through the flag smashers bc i think that’s the plot where he had juggernaut and he brainwashed the hulk. but then again, it could mean nothing at all.
i saw somewhere that kevin feige has the mcu planned out for the next ten years which is a lot. phase 5 i think end with fantastic four or the thunderbolts. i can’t find the map. so here’s my unfiltered, raw thoughts or secrets wars and kang dynasty. kang dynasty introduces a lot of what we’re gonna see in secret wars with the incursions and timelines and universes and secret wars is where it all collides and resets
now there’s still a potential for the mcu after secret wars. maybe it brings wiccan and speed in a way we can keep them. we can get the x-men or the inhumans without having to fit them into the main timeline. they already exist bc we’ll have a new timeline.
onto shang chi, my only thought is the danny rand recast rumor. idk if it was real or not but i’ve seen the title ‘Shang Chi and the Legend of the Iron Fist’ floating around and that’d be visually stunning. but there was so much trash talk around the guy who played danny for the netflix show. maybe they’re still figuring out details and it’ll be announced closer to phase 6 bc shang chi is still a new hero. he didn’t debut till here in phase 4 so there’s a little leeway imo on announcing his sequel

If Secret Wars is a hard reboot, meaning they'll recast everyone or almost everyone, would you watch DS3? I'm sure it won't be, at most it'd be a soft reboot just to have mutants and the F4 in the MCU like they've always been there, but since some actors will most definitely want out by that point, I wonder if there'll be recasts. I care mainly about who's writing and who's directing so... I'd really really miss Ben Wong and Chiwetel and Tilda, but I wouldn't mind a fresh start with a new cast.
I think I’d still keep watching even with a new cast. I’m in too deep and can’t get out at this point 🤣 Way to invested in anything MCU. I think the current cast is absolutely perfect though and it’s gonna be a hard to reach their level. I’m hoping it all works out though. I just don’t want Waldron back 😩 I just don’t understand how someone can be handed a beautiful story and just….demolish it like a crazed kid with a hammer. It’s just nuts.
We just need someone who genuinely cares about these characters in charge of their stories. It really shows in the end product.
Side note, the MCU really needs to untangle all the convoluted timelines/universes and such before introducing any more things into the chaos. Otherwise it’s gonna feel more like homework trying to keep things coherent.

Marvel Studios is getting ready to bring Wolverine back to the big screen with Hugh Jackman reprising the role that he made iconic in Deadpool 3. The studio was expected to recast the role, but with this era of the Marvel Cinematic Universe being called The Multiverse Saga, it made it possible for Jackman to return. Before the news of his return, fans were casting the role online, and some of the names that were thrown out there were Tom Hardy, Keanu Reeves, and even Taron Egerton. Reeves has been pretty vocal in the nerdy community and has previously revealed his interest in the Wolverine role. Now he's once again voicing that he wants to play the mutant. During a recent Reddit AMA, Reeves was asked if he had a role that he regretted turning down, and his response was plain and simple. "Has there ever been a role in your career that you regret turning down?" To which Reeves responded: "…No…but I did always want to play Wolverine."⚡️🍿🍿🍿 #comiccon #spoilermagazine #news #losangeles #podcast #magazine #art #instagram #galaxy #film #tv #hollywood #feature #movies #fandom #graphicdesign #nyc #spoiler #comicconradio #comicbooks #actors #artist #life #hughjackman #wolverine #marvel #keanureeves (at Los Angeles, California) https://www.instagram.com/p/CqSkHD9r1Vd/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Uncanny X-Men (2013-2015) #4
X-Men comics have always had strong female characters. One of them is named Illyana Nikolaievna Rasputina (aka Magik) and she currently holds the title of War Captain. Kidnapped and raised in Limbo, she became a powerful teleporter/warrior with an anime style “soul sword.” Anya Taylor-Joy played Magik in The New Mutants (2020) and I hope and pray that they never recast her!

Idc about mcu spoilers and I haven't seen the new movie but I've seen clips so here are my thoughts:
Captain Britain is already a taken title and she is a mutant not Peggy.
Please lets stop obsessing over Peggy.
John Krasinski/Disney/Marvel were bullied into this casting by the fans and we app know it.
If it was wasted for this one movie im okay with it. F4 is hardly gonna come out with a decent movie anytime soon.
"I can do this all day." Proceeds to fail. As it should go.
You pulled a Wizard of Ozs and failed.
If that was Wanda's real death wow the writing is bad
If Wanda did escape in that big red flash lets use this chance to recast her for a Romani/Jewish person of color
Oh yeah for ppl who do dislike marvel spoilers MCU SPOILER MVM

So I realize that watching Dark Phoenix was my first mistake but like---was no one else bothered by how little they did to age everyone?
Like, Apocalypse was already pushing the limits of my suspension of disbelief with Charles, Erik, Raven, and Hank all being in, or close to, their 50s while also being played by a group of actors who look forever 31.
In Dark Phoenix they’re getting up to their 60s---they have way more cause to look like Ian McKellen and Patrick Stewart than the hot young actors playing them in this film.
Idk, it’s just hard to watch this film, they needed to recast, or apply makeup and effects, or something---part of it is that it’s harder to visually distinguish the new mutants from the 80s and 90s from the First Class mutants from the 60s and 70s.
It also just makes me sad in general that this second run of X-men films had such incredibly strong opening films and then it ended with a whimper. That’s not to say that Apocalypse and Dark Phoenix are the worst ever, but they’re pretty bad lol---and they ‘re filled with lots of wasted potential.
Maybe McAvoy and Fassbender could have done Apocalypse if more work had been done to make them both look 50, but they’d have to get recast for Dark Phoenix. Raven would still look young, I’m pretty sure she canonically ages slower---and I think it would have been sort of cute to watch her be with old Hank, who’s still an enormous dork and wonders why she stays with him. I think that would have really punctuated her death too with this extra layer of tragedy and waste---and I think it would have helped folks accept allowing Jennifer Lawrence wanting to retire from the role maybe, idk I’m off the rails and just speculating at this point.
