#never again for anyone

Rather proud of the post I made for JVP Boston for Holocaust Remembrance Day!
Antizionist Jewish Shoah survivors have always been some of my heroes.
And every one of them has been attacked and discredited by Zionists.

FREE PALESTINE. FREE GAZA. SPEAK UP AND EDUCATE YOURSELF AND OTHERS. THERE’S A GENOCIDE HAPPENING IN THEIR LAND AS WE SPEAK.
NEVER AGAIN FOR ANYONE
NO COUNTRY SHOULD BE ABLE TO TURN OFF WATER, ELECTRICITY OR TELECOMMUNICATIONS OF ANOTHER COUNTRY. THERE’S NO INTERNET ACCESS, INTERNATIONAL CALLS ARE NOT WORKING. THERE’S NO SPACE FOR YOUR NEUTRALITY RIGHT NOW. PEOPLE AND CHILDREN ARE BEING KILLED.

How To Support Palestinian Liberation In a Jewish-Friendly Way: Solidarity And Things To Remember
1.) Make a distinction between the Israeli government/IDF and Jews. Don't say "Jews are committing war crimes against Gaza." Say "the IDF is committing war crimes against Gaza." The Israeli government uses the same trick against Palestinians.
2.) Remember there are Jewish people who face discrimination in Israel such as the Ethiopian Jewish population and Arab Jewish diaspora population.
3.) Don't let non-Jewish Zionists steal Jewish trauma for their own gain. Warmongerers like Biden and the GOP want Palestine gone so they can build military bases and harvest the abundance of gasoline in the Gaza Strip.
4.) There are grifters who are taking advantage of the human rights abuses against Gazans in order to spread anti-Semitism. Always keep an eye out for anti-Semitic dogwhistles like "((()))" along with stereotypes like Jewish people controlling everything.
5.) Please keep the Nazi/Holocaust comparisons at a minimum. The Nazis aren't the only ones in history who have committed genocide. If you are going to make them PLEASE just have sensitivity regarding Jewish generational trauma.
6.) Fight out of love for Palestinians and condemn those who fight out of hatred for Jews.
7.) Remember there are Jewish-run advocacy groups inside and outside of the Israeli state. In the Israeli state especially any sort of effort to fight for Palestinian Rights is highly dangerous. Back the people fighting Netanyahu's regime.
8.) Right now condemning anti-Jewish hate crimes is crucial because just like with anti-Palestinian hate crimes, they have been on the rise. Synagogues are being vandalized and there has been a shocking increase of Nazi ideology online. Condemning bigotry against Jewish people makes Jewish people feel safer and also benefits Palestinian liberation. By making Palestinian advocacy circles a safe place for Jewish people it becomes harder for governments to use anti-Semitism accusations.
9.) Plenty of Jewish people are pro-ceasefire and want to end the violence in Palestine so harassing random Jewish people online and spamming their comments is counterintuitive. Also, the Star of David predates the state of Israel by a couple centuries.
10.) Be there for your Jewish friends and show that Palestinian liberation can and must coexist with fighting anti-Semitism. The cycle of trauma can only end by bridging it and calling out those who exploit and perpetuate it.
Anyways.
I hope that one day the dreams of the first Palestinian socialists, a secular land where all people of Abrahamic descent are protected from discrimination, will be born; a place where Jewish people never have to fear another Holocaust and where Palestinians never have to fear another Nakba.
Never again for anyone.
(disclaimer: I am not Jewish, but want to be an ally to my Jewish friends and make sure to gatekeep Nazis and alt-right bullshit from Palestinian advocacy. I want to help keep the Palestinian liberation movement a safe place from fascist ideology. Jewish friends feel free to add to this or share your thoughts. My account is meant to be a safe place.)

As a #Jewish artist I wanted to create a piece of protest art for those who deep down want to speak out, but are feeling a little nervous to do so [image description: Collage. Protest art. The background is a vibrant and colorful collection of floral images with blues, purple, pink, green, light yellow, light orange, light pink, and a little bit of white. On top of that are two faces that have Rich pinks and reds with a bit of orange and white. They are cut out and they're facing opposite directions. Their eyes look like they're contemplating something. On the left face which is in the upper left-hand corner, there is a white cursive question mark around the left eye. And in the middle to lower right-hand corner is the other face which has two rectangles coming out of their head one blue and one green going opposite directions Blue representing Israel and green representing Palestine and there's a red flower in between. On top of that is the following text in a thin modern white font and every line has a black box around it making it easier to read. The text is broken up into four sections and the the sections take turns some being towards the left some being towards the right and so on It reads as follows some people are hesitant to validly criticize anything is Israel does because this is falsely equated with anti-semitism. And it's true, anti-Semitism does exist and must be called out but validly (keyword) calling out the persecution of Palestinians is not anti-Jewish, it's anti-Zionist and that is not the same thing. Lastly in the very lower left-hand corner is the text not in my name and it's very small but in the lower right-hand corner in a fitted white text is @ rebel Wheels NYC but with no spaces]

“Stop Killing Palestinians” is step number ONE step number FUCKING ONE.
and whatever political shit is up in the air like
YEAH i know what i think should happen if all was right in the world
but it’s not right we have to live in reality while the systems of world government relations and political powers hem and haw and back and forth and negotiate about whatever bullshit half measure dissolution/merge/split state yadda yadda yadda whatever the fuck and it’s gonna take time to even make a decision and then it’s gonna take more time to implement and then it’s gonna take time to tweak it and then-
BUT YOU KNOW WHAT DOESNT TAKE TIME??? YOU KNOW WHAT DOESNT SHOULDNT NEED “NUANCE” AND “NEGOTIATIONS?”
JUST NOT BOMBING GAZA.
SIMPLY STOPPING THE GENOCIDE.
IT IS A NON-ACTION. IT IS NOT COMMITTING TO ANY LONG TERM POLITICAL PATH OTHER THAN PREVENTING A TOTAL AND COMPLETE GENOCIDE. IT JUST KEEPS PEOPLE ALIVE WHILE YOU SORT OUT WHATEVER FUCKING POLITICAL SHIT IS GONNA HAPPEN.
And literally the ONLY reason for any person or nation to push back against that is if… that’s the whole fucking point.
“Look it’s complicated, there’s a lot of nuance in how this is going to play out realistically with-“ save that shit for the aftermath. Y’all really wanna fuck around with that, you can fuck around with it later.
The genocide could be stopped NOW. Literally RIGHT NOW.
The reality of the death toll isn’t that it’s “too complicated to determine a course of action right now.” Its that every fucking capitalist, imperialist nation with any kind of fiscal stake or political power interest in keeping this token pawn of theirs in the middle east just doesn’t want to give it up, and genuinely doesn’t care who gets thrown under the bus for it.

When I was standing in the Golan Heights on the border of Israel and Syria in 2010, our guide told us that any war fought by Israel in the future wouldn't be about religion, it would be about water. I've been thinking about that lie a lot lately. By then I knew how much I'd been lied to, and expected that to continue on that trip, but I could have never imagined just how big a lie that particular one would end up being. Growing up with those lies is why I take all this so personally, and why I feel I need to keep learning and spreading truths now to make up for the time when I didn't know how.
I want to share some words by Jewish-American writer Amanda Gelender that articulate many of the thoughts and feelings I've been having better than I've been able to myself.
"I don't have words to describe what it's like to be a Jewish person witnessing a genocide perpetrated & cheered on by my own community. It's a dystopian nightmare I can't wake up from. I pray everyday for a liberated Palestine & know in my heart that will set all of us free.
Don't spend years teaching me Jewish values of justice & respect for human life, and then expect me to conveniently not apply those ethics to the case where Jewish people are occupiers running an apartheid state on stolen land. It doesn't work like that.
When I first learned what was happening in occupied Palestine, I was shocked & horrified at the extensive human rights abuses & the deep betrayal from my own Jewish community for hiding the truth. It compelled me to go as far as possible for Palestine & refuse injustice done in my name.
As a Jewish anti-zionist, I'm not bothered by comparisons of Israel & Nazi Germany. There's a lot of overlap between the states, and I don't think Jewish people have a monopoly on words used to describe mass persecution. If you don't want to be called a Nazi, don't act like a Nazi.
Painting the violent white settlers as innocent, rational victims & the indigenous people as savage terrorists is right out of the racist colonial playbook. This is intentional by Israel - using white supremacist tropes already seeded in media to manufacture consent for genocide.
I hate that the west makes Palenstinians have to talk about Judaism & antisemitism at all. Palestinians didn't pick the identity of their occupiers. I wish the media collectively shifted the narrative away from white Jewish fear toward the 75 year struggle for Palestinian liberation.
Palestinians have a moral and legal right to resist their own genocide. The fact that their occupiers are Jewish is deeply irrelevant - it is human nature to resist your own annihilation by whomever it is that murders your people, steals your land, and tortures your children.
I don't believe Jews will ever be free so long as Israel exists. Because we can't keep our spirit intact while playing the role of a tyrant."

Meet Edgar Morin - a 102-year-old Jewish veteran of the French Resistance, a renowned philosopher, and a strident voice for justice. It truly upsets me that I’d never heard of this incredible man till now.
“I am both astonished and outraged by the fact that those who represent the descendants of a people who were persecuted for centuries for religious or racial reasons... That the descendants of this people who are today the decision-makers of the State of Israel, could not only colonize an entire people, partly drive them out of their land and seek to expel them for good... But also, after the massacre of October 7, engage in a real massive slaughter on the population of Gaza and continue, incessantly, hitting civilians, women, and children.
And to see the silence of the world, the silence of the United States, protectors of Israel, the silence of the Arab states, the silence of the European states who claim to be defenders of culture, humanity, human rights.
I think we are living through a horrible tragedy because we are also powerless in the face of this thing that is unleashing. At least, I say: bear witness! The only thing that remains if we cannot resist concretely is to TESTIFY. Let’s RESIST IN OUR MINDS, let’s not be fooled, let’s not forget, let’s have the courage to face things head-on.”
Repost from @middleeasteye
“After the massacre of 7 October, (Israel) engaged in a real massive slaughter on the populations of Gaza.”
French philosopher Edgar Morin, a Jewish WWII resistance fighter, criticised Israel’s actions in Gaza. He expressed disappointment at the silence of countries like the United States, Arab and European nations, whom he referred to as “protectors” of Israel.

"
In May 2023, while attending the Palestine Festival of Literature and months before October 7, I was in the Occupied Palestine Territories and traveled to Ramallah, Nabi Saleh, East Jerusalem, Hebron, and Lydd. As a writer coming from a country with a history of apartheid, what I experienced shook me and resulted in my writing a long essay, “Vignettes of a People in an Apartheid State.”
One did not need to be from a country with a history of apartheid to see the daily injustices and indignities visited on Palestinians. Palestinians have separate roads, and different number plates and are constantly under threat from strangers from the United States or white South Africans with apartheid nostalgia who come with guns and the protection of Israeli Defence Forces to settle into their homes. Indeed, unlike most literature festivals, PalFest takes the writers to multiple cities since Palestinians are unable to travel without permission from Israel, much like South  Africa during apartheid, just more cruel.
This is why I am giving up the medal.
I understand Germany’s guilt for the Holocaust.
I do.
That guilt is appropriate and has enabled Germany to face its unconscionable past.
But it is this that makes its position on the current genocide in Palestine all the more shameful. As an aside and as an African, I wish the German government exhibited the same regret for their history in Namibia with the Herero-Nama genocide and for the genocide during the Maji Maji Rebellion in Tanzania. Equally important, I wish that the German government, in reflection and saying “never again” would acknowledge that NEVER AGAIN should be for ANYBODY. "
