Netflix canceling Shadow and Bone season 3 and not doing a Six of Crows spin-off has got to be one of their dumbest decisions in the past 4 years. It is one of their most popular tv shows and was ranked 1st for weeks after season 1 and 2 dropped around the world. At this point, Netflix is just asking to lose everything because they have continuously canceled the most popular TV shows and try to replace them with really shitty ones.
But, I am so grateful to Leigh Bardugo, all the directors, producers, writers, costume designers, set crew, and literally every single person involved for bringing it all to life and putting their entire beings into making it as perfect as it is.
And of course I will always forever love every single actor for making all my favorite characters walk right off the pages and bring tears to my eyes.

Netflix, trying to put the fault on someone else and saying they canceled the show Shadow and Bones because of the strike is so cute like... You were the one causing the strikes because you weren't paying your actors but okay I guess, keep trying to find excuses for being your own biggest enemy

In the wake of the cancellation of Warrior Nun, I am imploring anyone who has Disney+ to watch Willow (2022).
It features a woman loving woman romantic subplot at the forefront, meaning it’s not in the subtext. Episode 1 has them kiss and afterward the lines of romance exist so throughout the narrative for these two characters that it is current and seen to the point that it cannot be argued away.
But there’s next to no buzz for it, only the Disney+ app really promotes it as something to watch with the odd ad showing up on Instagram of the cast playing mini games.
On top of that, it is a well written show that holds all of the love of the original film from the 80s.
I know that it would appear that numbers don’t seem to matter, but I am begging people to watch this show because it is a fantastic piece of media that delights in paying homage to the source material it comes from.
Also hot women with swords. Hot women with swords who could KILL you-

shadow and bone was just canceled and Leigh announced there will be no spin-off. it's really over, and although I'm not entirely surprised, I am extremely disappointed and feel awful for the cast and crew who all seemed passionate about the show. the plot was a mess and they clearly rushed storylines and character developments in fear of this, but the cast and their performance of our most beloved characters are what made it worth watching. I'm going to miss Kit, Freddy, Amita, Jack, Calahan, and Danielle as our crows. all of them are ridiculously talented so I know their careers will be fine and they will get other (and likely even better) roles, but they were all truly something special together and you could feel their natural chemistry and friendship through the screen. I'm still a bit hurt that some of the greatest scenes and dynamics we've read won't get put to life. however, we'll always have the incredible books and the two seasons that gave us a fun fanfic-like taste of our crows in live action

Netflix has always had this trend of cancelling their fantasy shows after 1-2 seasons. For which I'm greatly sad that Shadow and Bone is now amongst those cancellations. I have greatly enjoyed the Grishaverse and connected to it personally and connected with other people through it. It is sad we will never see certain relationships, new characters, and plots, especially the plot twist we were left with at the end of Season 2, things we were all dying to see make it to the screen with a Season 3 or Six of Crows Spin-off. The Books that Leigh Bardugo wrote will always live on and I would like to thank all the cast, crew, and writers behind the Netflix show giving us this amazing universe and pouring their heart and soul into it. It's a sad day for Grishaverse fans this day.
No Mourners, No Funerals. 🖤🐦‍⬛☀️

I'm genuinely so upset about the SaB cancellation... Despite everything I still had hope but Netflix obviously had to crash it and cancel the show like they do with every good story on their platform.
And why couldn't they just have announced it months ago instead of clowning us like this???
What is media becoming when writers don't even know how to write their seasons because they don't know if their show is getting renewed or not... cancellation feels like a constant threat and fandoms can't even get excited about a piece of media in case they cancel it.
No mournings no funerals but I'm mourning for sure

When Netflix cancels yet another one of their perfectly good series with good representation or stops spin-off from happening (shadow and bone, anne with an E, anything with a lesbian main couple...) but keeps in stretching longer their shitty series no one likes anymore and then has the audacity to wonder why few people subscribe:

congrats netflix for giving another reason for audiences to never become invested in their shows bc we know they'll 100% get cancelled before being finished.
cancelling good shows is now netflix's model. the writers saw this coming (throwing so much of kaz's backstory into S2, completely dropping slow burn wylan/jesper, etc) - and the show suffered for it!
im glad to have gotten my scraps even though i didn't love how rushed it was. what i really hate is that rushing it WAS ACTUALLY THE RIGHT CALL by the writers bc netflix did fucking cancel it!
tv is a fantastic storytelling medium but netflix has really butchered it and is starting to dance on its grave. we've already seen the effects of the SoB writers suspecting that netflix will cancel them - that's only going to become an even bigger fear impacting the work of writers. why bother setting up plotlines that will take several seasons to resolve when you know you'll get cancelled after 1 or 2 seasons?
sometimes cancelling something is the right call (e.g. dont think any1 cried over the 2nd half of the last Divergent movie being cancelled). sometimes a show genuinely sucks & doesnt have an audience.
but that WAS NOT THE CASE here. it's such a fucking joke. when will streaming services learn to respect the books that they're adapting and the hard work that cast, crew, writers, producers, etc put in to the adaptation? you'd think they'd have learnt after seeing HBO's dumpster fire with the end of Game of Thrones...
but nah. they're just gonna continue buying incredible IPs & obliterating them for some quick attention & subscribers. fantastic.
