『 project: secret warriors - a masterpost 』

the government of Nnedor has started a top secret program called project: secret warriors:

officially a training camp for homeless and convicted teenagers, camp renaissance is an experiment that tries to turn normal humans into super-soldiers - and uses the teens as test subjects.

when the siblings Nalia and Xander and their friend Charlie uncover the true purpose of the program, they try to escape and, with the help of a group of rebels, stop the government project - before it's too late.

This is a part of a series of thoughts about some of my past experiences with mental illness, recovery and my comic Halfsoul.

Trigger warnings: bullying, harassment

I was severely bullied for my learning disability by both my peers and teachers. It lasted seven miserable years... Although time can heal some wounds...or at least lessen the pain of them, the pain of bullying, harrassment and isolation can stay for an entire lifetime. I want to banish any preconceptions of it's "no big deal" or that the victims are "too sensitive" by showing that Nalia (protagonist in Halfsoul part 2) still struggles with many of the same fears as she did as a child. One of my favorite poems albeit a little painful to hear is, "To This Day" by Shane Koyczan.

To conclude... to this day I still hate my voice.
