you were in love with na'el for a while, but when the city got destroyed, you thought you lost her

and when you met glimmer, you felt like you could move on from na'el and finally be happy with someone again

both you and glimmer weren't ready for a relationship yet, as she had only just escaped the cycle, while you were still hung up on na'el

but it was clear that the two of you liked each other and that you'd eventually end up together

at least, you thought that way, until you met na'el, now possessed by alpha, at raguel lake and realized your childhood friend had never truly died

you knew you couldn't get with glimmer until things with na'el were resolved and so you joined the party on their mission to rescue na'el from origin

only after she was finally back did you have a chance to get your feelings sorted out

you began spending time with both of the girls and introduced them to each other, leading to them becoming friends as well and na'el teaching glimmer everything about the city and its people

the more time the three of you began to spend together, the clearer it became that you weren't just good friends, but that there was actually more between you

na'el was the first one to point it out, suggesting to slowly take the next step and become more than friends

your entire relationship felt like an experiment for a while, since it wasn't just glimmer's first time dating someone but also the first time all of you were dating two people at once

most of the time, you and na'el were the ones making the first move and even having your firsts with each other, before glimmer slowly began to get more comfortable in a relationship

it took glimmer almost a year to finally make the first move for something herself and suggesting a date idea for once, when it usually has always been you and na'el doing that

though both of you were happy that glimmer began to open up more and get comfortable around you two, as your relationship finally began to feel stable and serious!

na'el was quite the amazing person

she was beloved by everyone, especially the children of the city, she was not only a talented fighter but could also play the piano and she was so kind and humble about all of it

it was hard not to fall in love with someone as great as her!

though there was one problem about your crush on na'el – her older brother!

matthew was your best friend and you knew he could be a bit overprotective of his sister

but your crush on na'el was something you didn't want to give up on! you wanted to confess to her and hopefully she'd feel the same way and the two of you would start dating

but before this could happen, you needed matthew's blessing!

matthew was just as important to you as na'el was. she might be the girl you love, but matthew had been your best friend for years!

you ended up telling matthew about you crush on na'el when the two of you were outside the city by yourself one day

you wanted to be alone with him if you'd tell him about your feelings for na'el. if necessary, you'd even challenge matthew if he wanted you to prove you are worthy of dating his sister

though when you told him that you had fallen in love with na'el, matthew remained quiet, which was quite unusual for him

you could've dealt with him getting angry, but seeing him this quiet was much more terrifying!

though after a few moments, matthew sighed and grabbed you by the shoulders, finally saying something

"you're a good person! i trust that you'd never hurt na'el! if you love her, go tell her! i'm sure she'd be happy about it!"

hearing such kind and genuine words from matthew was quite the surprise and you couldn't help but get excited!

he approved of you! though, matthew wasn't done talking yet…

"however, if you ever hurt na'el, you know what happens! if anyone knows me best, it's you! and you know how i can be if someone messes with my sister…"

matthew glared at you for a moment, his expression completely serious, before he pulled away and smiled again

"well, don't waste your time then! go ahead and ask her out!"

na'el comforting you after a nightmare

pairing: na'el x gn!reader

summary: after what happened in origin, you are plagued by nightmares and na'el comforts you

"y/n… y/n, wake up…"

na'el gently tried to shake you awake. you were squirming in your sleep, muttering to yourself so loudly that it woke up your girlfriend. it was clear to see that whatever you were dreaming of wasn't a nice dream…

na'el gently shook you once more and finally, you opened your eyes, only to quickly push na'el away from you and cry out in shock, quickly distancing yourself from her.

it was quiet for a moment, before you slowly came to your senses again. the person in front of you and the one in your nightmare weren't the same. this was na'el – your na'el! not the alpha you kept dreaming about…

"i-i'm so sorry…"

you quickly leapt into na'el's arms, breaking into tears. you pushed away your own girlfriend. you've pushed her away when she just wanted to help you. you couldn't help but tear up, feeling horrible for how you had treated her.

"it's okay…"

na'el wrapped her arms around you tight, holding you as close as she could. being pushed away from you hurt, but seeing you like this was even worse. but na'el couldn't be upset with you, not when she knew you weren't doing well.

"i'm not him. i'm not alpha…"

she quietly whispered as she held you close, waiting for you to slowly calm down again.

"it's just me now. just na'el…"

before you can even ask na'el out, you have to get past matthew!

matthew doesn't like the idea of his little sister dating anyone, so he'll make sure you're good enough for na'el, before he even allows you to ask her out

matthew doesn't want na'el to get hurt and he wants you to prove you can not only treat her right, but that you could also protect her!

you'll have to fight against matthew and only if you managed to win will he let you ask her out

once you're dating na'el, matthew will be a lot nicer to you and he'll even wish you the best of luck with her

after all, he just wants to see his little sister happy and you're obviously making her happier than she's ever been!

na'el and you often visit the orphanage and play with the children there

and everytime the two of you head home again, she'll mention how badly she wants kids of her own one day

na'el already knows what she wants for her future and she knows she wants to spend it with you

she doesn't mind waiting a bit longer for marriage and children, as long as she knows that it's happening someday

na'el often plays the piano for you and you always admire how good she is at it!

you often join na'el and matthew during their training sessions

but whenever you don't you stay at home and prepare some food for your girlfriend (and sometimes matthew, if he pays the two of you a visit afterwards)

though if it's just the two of you, then you'll run na'el a bath while she's eating and after she has eaten and bathed, you'll cuddle with her in bed until the two of you fall asleep

summary: you save na'el from alpha inside origin!

after the destruction of the city, na'el had vanished and you had been worrying about her like crazy. when you finally reunited with her again, she was different. this wasn't your na'el anymore and the others had noticed it too. shulk and rex had called it 'alpha'. apparently this alpha was using your girlfriend's body as a vessel!

you weren't sure if na'el was still in there or what alpha was truly capable of, so you knew you had to be careful. when you and the others reached origin, you finally came face to face with na'el – or rather alpha.

you were hesitant to attack, but held your blade ready as you carefully approached the one who looked like your girlfriend

"na'el… is it still you? can you hear me?"

and there it was again; that cold smile. as she reached out her hand for you and smiled, you could tell it wasn't na'el. na'el's smile had always been so genuine, but this looked nothing like her anymore. she was just alpha's puppet right now…

"i'm sorry it had to come to this"

you raised your blade, taking a deep breath. you turned your head and looked at the others, locking eyes with matthew. he too had realized it. realized what had to be done. in order to free na'el, they first had to get rid of alpha. there was a chance this could go wrong, but it was the only way!

"i'll save you, na'el. don't worry! i'll get rid of him and then we can finally be together again…"
