LDL and lp(a) concern among other health symptoms

Hello all - my bf recently got blood results back (numbers listed below) that have him very concerned. He is 30 y/o, ~185 lbs, 6’1’’, pretty fit and active (regular cardio and weight training), has been eating pretty healthy as of late. Long story short, about 3 months ago he started to experience some weird bodily symptoms - numbness tingling/pins and needle that started in his left arm, moved to his right arm, then his feet and the lower facial (mainly jaw) region. There isn’t any pain but he can feel it and it’s on and off. He usually feels it in his arm or jaw area now. He then started to experience some on and off chest and back pain after (more around the traps), which we think may have been caused by stress and anxiety. He has seen a number of doctors (neurologists, cardiologists, GPs, GI doc) and has done a number of tests (MRI, lumbar puncture, spinal tap, echo stress test, complete echo, celiac) and all of them have come back negative and normal. With his echocardiogram the cardiologist said it was completely normal and there was no sign of blockage. Even though the majority of tests have come back negative (and we’ve ruled out a lot of things at this point), he is convinced something is still wrong based on what he’s feeling.

Recently he ordered some other blood tests on his own through Quest Diagnostic (Cardio IQ). I wanted to post screenshots of the results but it won’t let me share photos. Here are the numbers that have him concerned since some are out of the normal range:

LDL particle (nmol/L): 1664 LDL small: 345 LDL medium: 415 HDL large: 5963 LBL pattern: B LDL peak size: 216.2 Lp(a): 157 H

I’ll also include lipid panel w/ ratios in case helpful:

Cholesterol: 159 HDL cholesterol: 43 Triglycerides: 72 LDL cholesterol: 100 CHOL/HDLC ratio: 3.7 LDL/HDL ratio: 2.3 Non HDL cholesterol: 116

I was wondering if anyone has knowledge around these numbers or general guidance/thoughts on this. I hate to see my bf in this state of worry and stress bc he is typically a very even-keeled, low stress, logical, happy person. The most frustrating part is just not knowing what this could be or what could be causing this all..which is why I’m here posting this and going down the Reddit rabbit hole lol. It’s probably helpful to know a week before the onset of symptoms he did get sick with what we think was covid (tests said negative but we are convinced we both had it bc we have had it before and it was the same symptoms). So a part of us thinks this could definitely be related to covid/long covid/weird post covid symptoms. If you need me to provide any additional context or other numbers from the blood tests I can do that. Many thanks in advance, hope to figure this all out soon!

first thing im doing when i get paid is scheduling a groomer's appointment for my dog bc she looks like a goddamned dust bunny

#pidge speaks #probs getting to be time for a checkup too?#hdhfhfjfn first responsibility is always to my baby #i got into a fight w an old coworker when i worked at the motrl once #bc i spent the entirety of my first biweekly paycheck on taking sookie to the vet and getting all her vaccinations and checkups #that was the first job i had when i was fully financially responsible for her and her health #and this crusty old mf tried to 'joke' that he would never spend that much on an animal #he was also creepy as fuck #he was in like his 70s and was 1) super racist 2) religious and took issue w my alien backpack and 3) asked others if i had a bf #it was gross #side note im also hoping something comes of this DOL appeal #bc apparently my old job says i just left without telling them #when i have receipts of conversations i had with my manager from WHEN I WAS IN THE HOSPITAL #and up until february when i had my neurologists appointment #from november to february i kept her updated whenever i could #and she was always like 'oh yeah u need to see the dr before u can come back! get a note'#and then when i had the note she fucking ghosted me #so depending on how that goes?#i might be entitled to several months of backpay #and maybe severance pay??? ive been told its a possibility #so we'll see

DEEP PAIN*

Tinatanong ko na lang to madalas what did i do to deserve this kind of treatment.

Nag argue si Pat at ng kapatid nya in two factors: First her sister laugh at me and insults me instead of defending me on her friend/neighbor i gues. The girls ask her sister (this was before) "Sino napangasawa ng kapatid mo" sumagot ng ate nya ng "Si Khristine Calata" other uttered: "Ah parang kilala ko yan" Ate nya: "Oo lycean din diba lycean ka din nuon" "oo kilala ko yan, malandi yan" kwinento ng ate ni pat kay pat. "Hoy apay kanu meh ni thine malandi daw yan (sabay tawa); syempre tong asawa ko nagalit telling "sino ka para tawanan ang asawa ko sister in law mo yan bakit hindi mo ipagtanggol at kailangan mo pang tawanan" kung wala kang alam kay thine wag mo tawanan Ni hindi nga yan nagka boyfriend nung highschool (oo seryoso pero never ako nagka bf nung HS to cut it short walang nagkaka gusto sa akin kasi ang pangit ko mukha akong butiki) hindi mo ba alam ang naging bf lang nyan yung 5yrs ex nya nung college at ako na asawa nya ngayon tumigil nga kayo dyan ella kung wala ka magawa sa buhay mo mag trabaho ka at hindi puro chismis lang inaatupag mo pagtatawanan mo pa yang asawa ko na instead na ipagtanggol mo ng wala ka namang alam! Nasaktan ako syempre dahil sa reaction ng ate nya pero yung mismong issue hindi dahil alam ko namang hindi totoo foul lang para sa akin yung pano dinala ng ate nya yung ganun na instead sana pinagtanggol nya ako. A month before this issue; nagka autism ang anak nilang panganay at nagka tumor yung anak nilang pangalawa so lahat emergency, andyan yung mga financial problem at saklob inshort ang problema. Nagpunta sila dito sa manila and i volunteer na sabe ko sa asawa ko "love dito mo sila sa bahay pa deretyohin may room pa naman dito bakante pero magpapalit na lang kami since tatlo sila duun na lang sila sa room ko duun na lang ako sa maliit" So they stayed here almost 4 months i never demand kasi syempre alam ko ano pinag dadaanan nila andyan yung magkabilaang gastos dahil sa pag opera sa anak nila at problema nila na sobrnag bigat. Then for me to keep them well i help them sa abot ng makakaya ko. So all out ako sa food and needs nila dito lahat lahat. Then one time siguro dahil sa fatigue and problema na dinadala nila galing silang PGH yung mag ama at yung batang may tumor. Pag tingin ko pa lang alam ko na may kakaiba. "Kuya magpahinga muna po kayo mukhang nilalagnat ka na, kumain ka muna akin na muna si elize a 2 year old with tumor baby" pero umakyat sya ng room ako naman tong curious sinundan ko sya ng tingin kasi nag aalala ko he act so diff that day pagtapos nun nagsasalita na sya mag isa- sumilip ako sa room to check if may kausap ba sya sa phone laking gulat ko wala so nag panic na ako pinabuhat ko kay mama yung bata pagbalik ko nangingisay na sya at bumubula ang bibig "niyakap ko si kuya chad at nagsisigaw ako ng tulong! Tulong! Ma si kuya chad! Mga kapitbahay tulong! tapos ako yakap yakap ko sya diko alam gagawin ko kumuha ako ng tubig at towel inilapat ko sa ulo nya nanginginig padin sya at nagsasalita mag isa at yung mga limbs sya at digitals nya matigas hindi ko alam sobrang trauma ako nung araw na yun" tinawag ko si ate pam sigaw akong sigaw umakyat sya at sinasabunutan ulo nya "asking god" "bakit naman to nangyari sa amin lord ano ba naging kasalanan namin" ako nagtawag na ako kapitbahay si mama ng tryc at tinakbo namin ng hospital. Galing Night shift pa ako nun wala pa akong tulog nag stay akong UST until 2pm tinakbo namin sya bandang 10am tapos nilabas ko syang UST 2pm dumeretyo kaming PGH since wala kaming malaking halagang pera 6pm naka uwi na kami without assurance at all kasi we do not have a choice kundi ilabas sya dahil we cant wait for the charity room para sa amin. Pumasok ako work walang tulong at magang maga mata at tulala padin. After this hinanapan namin sya ng neurologist para ipatingin ng mabigyan sya ng gamot dahil anytime pwede sya ulit mangisay only to find out "A sudden epilepsy pala yung nangyari sakanya" sobrang awang awa ako sa magpamilya-sa ate ni PAT in short. So kinupkop ko padin sila dito. Tapos sabe ko kuya magpagaling ka pag ok ka na ipapasok kita sa work dito makaka bawi ka at maipapagamot natin si elize. After a months pinasok ko sya sabe ko ilagay mo sa resume mo pangalan ko at pag nagtanong pano mo nalaman sabihin mong ako na aako nagpasok sayo "i even got all the keys sa entrance exam, yung dati kong exam pinakita ko skanya sinabe ko lahat ng sagot, tapos yung mga bagong pasok tinanong ko ano mga tinanong so kameng dalawa nag usap ito hah ganto sagot mo ganto ganyan tapos pag pumasa ka sa final interview sabihin mo ako nagpasok sayo "THINE" kasi dyan ako kilala ng mga superior sabihin mo if nagtanong sila sabihin mo totoo na kamag anak mo ako--- at sabihin mo hindi mo alam ang sahod ko -duon" so ayun nga tinanong sya ng superior "how are you related to Thine" blah blah after 3 days tinawagan sya agad! Ang saya ko kasi tagumpay yung mga tinuro ko sakanya at mga sinsabe ko na gagawin nya sobrang saya ko. First month nya naging regular sya agad palagi ko sya binibisita sa training room para kamustahin alam kong hindi pa sya fit to work but i did my best para maging ok ang lahat then turns out it all done well. Hinahatiran ko sya food since napaka mahiyain nya. Then one time nagka athritis sya sa paa. Papasok na dapat kame sabe nya 'thine mukhang di ako makakapasok hindi ako maka lakad' sabe ko kuya hindi pwede malaki kaltas ng absent tumayo ka nakakatayo ka ba?

it’s really weird like every time i don’t binge i feel so good about myself & start feeling myself then i get too ahead of myself then realize imma fat ass. lol i only ate about 700cal : - in order -

good belly shot ( 50cal ) kite hill vegan almond yougurt - blueberry flavor ( 160cal ) arizona green tea ( 70cal ) coke 0cal - plus coke 0 is better than Diet Coke btw - coconut belvita ( 230cal ) 2 eggs ( 78x2 cal = 156cal ) cheese ( 30cal ) - only ate about a tablespoon in my eggs to scramble them - 1 cup of iced tea < 3 ( 30cal ) im not doing the math for that rn srry im too lazy but it’s less than 1000cal which is my max for rn. which isn’t too bad ig. i don’t like the feeling of being hungry and im not used to it bc i haven’t restricted fr fr since like 8th grade bc i had a motivator w me. but since im not used to it i don’t like it. imma get used to it soon bc im too fat

tomorrow im going out w a friend for froyo & we’ll probs gonna walk around the zoo & kinda just mess around the city tbh. which ill be burning cal hopefully tomorrow i can find out my weight bc im going to a new neurologist so hopefully i can see how fat i am. next week when i get paid im going to try to secretly buy a scale :)

i feel so good rn but there are flaming hot cheetos in my pantry that i want to eat. but ik next week im restricting no breaks or anything and im working them all off bc my bfs birthday is fri ( the 6th ) and im making us cajuin chicken pasta , broccolini , this rose elderberry fizzy drink we both like & buying us some slices of cheesecake from cheesecake factory. ik that’s sm calories but imma eat it to make my bf think im fine & ion wanna ruin his birthday by not eating. imma just focus on him & eat for him. ill be able to loose it after it’s done w

i think i mentioned that CBD doesn't work for me due to the fact it doesn't do shit for constant fatigue/weakness, 24/7 brain fog and the overall "my brain is running on Windows 98" feeling. yet i did try it, just to shut everyone up that mentions "CBD will fucking cure you ill tell ya what"

buuuut i found out about a marijuana strain called "green crack" and "Durban poison" that bumps up energy levels. few issues with that tho

1. Marijuana is illegal in new york

2. I have bad lungs so i can't smoke anything comfortably. also i hate the thought of smoking anything and just thinking "me" and "smoking" in the same sentence makes me uncomfortable

3. Also the one way i have a slight chance of getting it is my bf has a THC vape and gets things from California, but like every other person i know he's uneasy with letting me do that kind of stuff unless my neurologist oks it. which i ain't going to ask her "hey i wanna do this marijuana strain that's still illegal"

4. Also, even if i do get it, i can't drive. My bum brain is why i can't drive. but driving high is a DUI (obviously) so my brain won't ever be clear enough to drive anyway cuz I'm not gonna be an asshole, driving right after smoking

5. ill have to be constantly high. before work, before driving, before anything that requires brain power which isn't possible so ill chalk this whole thing up as useless anyway. fuck.
