I just got into Allen Stage, and I'm a bit confused about why Sua's death was considered a sacrifice by the fandom? From the video, I thought they tried to essentially cheat the system so they'd both live (or die) together, and it was kinda just luck of the draw that Sua got 1 point less than Mizi (as in, the aliens demanded blood so they would force a vote until the scores aren't tied). I honestly thought it could've gone either way? I don't really know how Sua could've planned the one-point difference. Am I missing something?

btw i was making a sandwich for dinner just then with my clematis looping as per usual and like. it occurred to me you can literally Hear the singers age up the characters between when they sing as children and then it switches to their adult performance. i'm so normal about that

and idk who it is that sings as mizi but as a child, she sounds like she's following sua's lead and echoing her. then as adults in their round, mizi duets beautifully with sua in such an ethereal and hopeful way. you can tell she doesn't doubt in her love and hope and faith, in sua, at all that they will make it through this together. and then after the instrumental bridge and sua dies with a smile on her face, mizi just shuts down. she doesn't cry, scream, or make a single sound (that we can see) beyond the lament of her singer singing the last abridged refrain. and it is SUCH a lament because she literally sounds hollow, her tone has switched from a hopeful songbird to that of... a wailing widow. and still, sua joins her for the last "my clematis" to signify she's not gone, not really, because as we can see in round 5, she haunts mizi through grief.

btw i just noticed then that the last "my clematis" is different from every other. oh no i'll cry again fr.

mizi sings the same melody, but sua sings a harmony. they weren't doing that before. signifying how they've fallen away from each other forever.
