I love thinking about teen carmy thrifting ;_; he totally would too! I think carmy is a rly curious person and enjoys knowing the why behind things, the whole story. I love that he loves denim and vintage denim and vintage clothing… it’s such an interesting facet of his character

Carmy’s fashion isn’t over the top or flashy, but he’s still obvs so into fashion nonetheless. He cares about the quality of clothes and things he puts on his body!!!

Sorry just looking back at it, I really do think G3 sacrificed having good fashion in order to have good character design. Which like, if it was just the cartoons they were rebooting, then like sure. But all I'm saying if any other doll brand in the year of our lord 2023/2022 come out with tye-die shorts with frills we would have laughed them off the market but it's Monster High so it's fine

I think it succeeds a lot at times, for example, no matter how much I don't like G3 Clawdeen, not gonna lie, they really got that 'quirky protag girl' vibe incredibly well with her. Or how the G3 Werecat Twins personalities show so strongly though their designs, but dear god WTF is Meowlody wearing.

But on the other hand it's not like good character design and fashion are antithetical to each other. Like not only was this the reason G1 Monster High got so popular (that and it's gothicism) but G3 HAS put out nice looking fashion pieces before!

#Also it's not as related to the tangent #but the styles of the individual ghouls have become so much more... homogenized? #Like I don't think it's consistent for all of G1 but most of the main cast had strong personal styles #Frankie was alt prep Lagoona dressed casually with a -surf crush- influence #Draculaura was Lolita-adjecent and just overall very dated #Clawdeen wore a mix of rock fashion and statement pieces #Operetta was a rockabilly Ghoulia base doll was heavily scene then followed by a consistent 60s look #Robecca was steampunk Rochelle dressed like an emo Parisian chic. #But the only characters I'll say have a clear distnct style in G3 is Frankie and Drac #the rest of the main cast have been reduced to mostly motif patterns. #Like Clawdeen's and Cleo's Fearidescent outfits have almost identical construction. #idk maybe I'm judging too early for G3 a bit with this one #they generally seem to be improving the designs #and perhaps when they finally venture out of the main cast the personal style of the rest of supporting cast will show #monster high #Monster High G1 #Monster High G3 #my post #rambles #ohh boy here comes a bunch of tags #normally I don't tag posts like this but I want someone else to chime in on what they think about the fashion of G3 and G1 #IDK I've gotten more into contemporary fashion history and fashion as a whole and it's made me a lot more appreciative of G1

okay after two days of reading Claremont's Uncanny X-Men I am ~65 issues in. I truly didn't know what to expect bc I know very little about the X-Men in general but just from the panels I've saved here are the primary components:

- Kurt and Logan flirting (and generally being a dynamic duo)

- Ororo being Kitty's mom

- Scott Go To Therapy Challenge

- Charles Xavier being a dick to his children

- FashionTM

the last one is mostly kitty but does also include Scott's inexplicable octopus disney prince getup that everyone should see because it's amazing. why did magneto dress him up like this.

One of the funniest things about Pinterest’s algorithm is that it’s picked up on the fact that I like Witcher, despite the fact that I’ve never saved a Witcher-related pin. I DO, however, save engagement ring and wedding-related pins, since I’ve been using Pinterest to narrow down potential rings now that my partner and I have decided to get married.
