The Sunshot Generation as Babies/Toddlers

(And That One Story that was always told about them when they got older).

Wei Wuxian: Surprisingly, was a very good kid. There are shockingly few juicy stories.

Lan Wangji: By contrast, he was an absolutely feral toddler who terrified EVERYONE. Lan Xichen was the only one who could settle him down. It got so bad that Wangji got to attend class with his brother, because discipline did not work.

Jiang Cheng: Very cuddly baby/toddler. Was nearly kidnapped once or twice because he was offered cuddles. Developed his temper/paranoia/general prickliness later on.

Jiang Yanli: Accidentally kidnapped Wen Chao once. She wanted to give him soup because he looked sad. He was one year old and could not properly explain he was supposed to stay in place. They were halfway to Lotus Pier when it was discovered that the Jiang delegation had accidentally taken Wen-gongzi hostage.

Lan Xichen: Much better toddler than Wangji, but for a while refused to walk anywhere on his own. Surprisingly, the adult who gave in to his (very muted) temper tantrums most often was Lan Qiren.

Nie Mingjue: At his 100-day ceremony, he cried every time Wen Ruohan got close. His father was very apologetic. His mother thought it was hysterical and had to duck into antechambers to laugh in private.

Nie Huaisang: Normally too sick to do much, but bit Jin Guangshan one time at a delegation when he didn’t listen to the also-small Nie Mingjue’s warnings that Sang-er didn’t want to be held at the moment. Once again, his father was very apologetic. Mingjue was extremely proud of his didi.

Wen Xu: Made the mistake of shoving Yanli at a discussion conference. She tried to tell him to stop, but he didn’t listen. After the third time, she gave in and shoved him back, knocking him off the pier and into the water.

Wen Chao: Went through a period of time when his favorite adult was Wen Zhuliu, and he would throw a raging temper tantrum if anyone else handled him. This included servants, other sect leaders, his father and his mother. Neither he nor Wen Zhuliu were ever able to figure out why.

Wen Qing: While she did not cry very often, she scowled so fiercely at everyone that her parents had an exorcism performed on her at one point for fear that she was being possessed by a very unfriendly spirit. Nope, she just had enough of everyone’s nonsense before her hundredth day.

Wen Ning: Very nice baby. One time accidentally ripped the head off a doll and cried for hours until Wen Qing fixed it. She explained that he was giving it surgery.

Jin Zixuan: Very quiet baby. Was routinely taken to healers to ensure he wasn’t sick. Nope, he was just boring.

Meng Yao: Could climb before he could walk. Meng Shi learned this the hard way when she turned her back and found him on top of a table, clapping his hands and babbling excitedly at her. It was the only time she well and truly freaked out.

Mianmian: Was left alone in her parents’ garden one afternoon. When they returned, it was to find that she’d somehow dug up five worms and declared herself the worm empress. Once her husband heard the story, he teased her with it for weeks.

He wants to see him smile without his eyes remaining tense. Wants to see him sprawl improperly like he always does. He wants to kiss him until the stress melts from his frame. He wants Wei Ying , not this muted facsimile of him. He understands the necessity of this, but he doesn’t like it.

Lan Wangji wants to pry every secret Wei Ying is willing to share out of his chest and hoard it away as his own. He’s greedy, greedy, greedy when it comes to this man and will keep every scrap he is given. “Wei Ying,” he says, then realizes he doesn’t actually know what he wants to say. He reaches up to pull one hand away from his antlers and laces their fingers together. “You’re beautiful, you know,” Wei Ying says. He squeezes Lan Wangji’s hand. “With any features, though I admit, the antlers are very cool.” Lan Wangji huffs out a small laugh. “I didn’t want you to look at me differently,” he admits. “Even those in my sect would…” he trails off. “Oh sweetheart,” Wei Ying croons. He cups Lan Wangji’s cheek. “I will fight every single one of them for ever making you feel like you had to hide.” Lan Wangji is going to die or qi deviate or something else drastic right here in his own home on a mostly peaceful day. Sweetheart , he thinks. “Wei Ying,” he whispers. “Wei Ying, I missed you.”

never not shaking crying throwing up about the scene in ep33 when wei wuxian wakes up in lan wangji’s house.

1. lan wangji doesn’t get up to go to him, as we see him do later. he doesn’t so much as turn his body toward him, or stop playing his qin. he doesn’t even (as i scream about constantly) look directly at him. he treats wei wuxian like a cornered animal (which immediately upon waking up, he essentially is), and successfully makes him feel safe. he’s acutely aware that he’s gone against wei wuxian’s former wishes in bringing him back to gusu, but he saw no other choice. so he tries to make himself as non-threatening and calm as possible despite everything he’s feeling—his worry, his relief, his fear, his joy, his uncertainty, ETC ETC ETC

2. he immediately exhibits his growth, and starts answering all of wei wuxian’s questions fully and without hesitation. he’s here for whatever wei wuxian wants, whatever wei wuxian needs, with no agenda. until, of course, wei wuxian asks him a question he doesn’t know how to answer. he doesn’t know how to explain his years in seclusion without burdening him with A Whole Bunch of Knowledge that could be distressing in any number of ways. he starts to try anyway though, but wei wuxian misunderstands his direction and interrupts with his own preemptive line of thought.

3. the immediate nature of lan wangji’s affirmative response to “would you believe me if...” juxtaposed with the indefinite, horribly pained, restrained silence after “did you believe me before?” lan wangji is dying inside. the fact that wei wuxian has to ask him this is possibly the greatest failing of his entire life, tied up in a neat bow. he’s almost shaking, sitting there in mute, all-encompassing regret.

4. wei wuxian does not get an answer to this question!!!!!!!!!!!!! he sits there assuming lan wangji can’t bring himself to tell him the truth, and smiles ruefully out the window!!!!!!! they are both having a terrible fucking time!!!!!!!! in one of the most intimate scenes in the show!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Set free

Warnings: heavy angst and mentions of self harm!!

There is nothing but silence. If one tried hard enough, they might have even be able to hear the candles burn, the otherwise unnoticed crackling of the tiny flames through their wicks and candlewax.

The distant sounds of the snowstorm outside occasionally fill in the suffocating silence, the muffled scream of the wind against creaking windows wailing much like a grieving mother crying for her son.

Lan Xichen lays still, in beautiful, ornate, funerary robes. He looks much like he would if he was asleep - except the steady rise and fall of his chest is absent, and the color in his skin has drained to leave a muted gray behind. His lips, usually turned in gentle, kind, polite smiles, are drawn against one another, his expression calm, if not indifferent. Of course, it has been a long time since the curl of his lips has been sincere - but even that forced ghost of a smile is gone now, never to return again.

Lan Wangji has been kneeling by his side for hours now, keeping the candles alight and the incense burning. He has only left to bring fresh flowers in when they started to wilt.

He hasn't uttered a single word, a single sound ever since he found out his brother died. It's almost as if the shock of it has taken his voice away, his pain soundlessly turned inwards. Not even when he cried did he make any noise.

Xichen used to tell him he should stop bottling up his feelings until they burst. He should allow himself to be more open, more expressive, more vulnerable.

Xichen is gone now and Lan Wangji doesn't know how to follow his advice.

They found him, motionless and cold, in his seclusion house. His body hadn't started to decompose yet, a testament to his high cultivation, so nobody could tell when he died. Or how. All that was certain was that he was gone.

There were no wounds on his body, no marks, nothing but pristine skin. There were no signs of a fight or a break-in either. Lan Qiren played him Inquiry - Lan Wangji couldn't - but there was no response.

Perhaps it's better this way. Sometimes it's better not to know.

There are many hypotheses.

Lan Wangji doesn't want to think of them.

He doesn't want to think of anything. He can't think of anything - just the fact that his brother died alone. Nobody should die alone. Nobody who is loved should die alone.

Xichen did.

He promised Lan Wangji he would end his seclusion come spring. He would return to the Cloud Recesses and take up the responsibility of sect leadership, he would rebuild his life and move on.

But spring has been late this year. It's still snowing outside, even if it shouldn't. The frost has killed the cherry blossoms outside.

It's killed Xichen too.

Lan Wangji hopes, irrationally, that this is all a dream, a nightmare. That his eyes will snap open any moment now and he will be home, and his brother will still be alive. That this is all a cruel illusion his brain has concocted the way it would when Wei Ying was dead.

But this is real. It's real because Lan Wangji can still feel the cut Bichen has left in his hand, an injury he needed to inflict on himself to ground himself into the present and realize the truth of the situation. Nobody knows he has it, he's hidden it in his sleeves, in strategic placements of his hand. He's prevented his core from healing it.

Wei Ying will freak out when he finds out, but it's not like this is the first time Wangji has resorted to self-harm when he was grieving. Xichen used to gently lecture him on that, too.

Xichen has always been a gentle man. Kind, welcoming, at times naive and unassuming, but with a heart so open that it could hold the whole world inside of it. It's this very heart that caused his demise, isn't it? This good, selfless, loving, hopeful heart. This dead heart.

Wangji found letters in his brother's house. They were unaddressed, but he could still tell who each of them was meant to reach. Few of the recipients were still alive - and he was one of them. His brother wrote to him, bared his soul on paper for him but chose to never show it to him in the end.

The elegant calligraphy spoke of pain, of loneliness and deceit, of shattered hopes, of wondering how to accept that the world he's lived in has been nothing but an illusion.

In the end, Xichen never found the answer to those questions. Or perhaps he did.

Only he knows.

But those letters weren't all a journal of sorrow. Xichen wrote to his brother about how much he loved him, how proud he was of him, how happy that he could finally share his life and his love with his soulmate, how well he did teaching the juniors.

Those letters hurt the most.

Wangji found a stack of letters addressed to their mother too. He hasn't been able to read them, and he doubts he ever will. He's handed them over to uncle, and he thinks uncle has read them himself. Wangji doesn't want to know.

There were letters addressed to uncle, too. Wangji hasn't read those either. Neither has he read the letters that were meant for Xichen's sworn brothers.

He hasn't even read the one letter that was addressed to Wei Ying. But Wei Ying has. And whatever Xichen wrote in there, Wangji doesn't think himself able to stomach - and with the way Wei Ying cried reading it, he probably never will.

Nobody knows how Xichen died.

Nobody but his brother.

None of the people that will come cry at his funeral, at his grave, will ever know what really happened. Neither the juniors that looked up to him like both an uncle and a guiding figure, nor the fellow sect leaders that will attend the funeral in respect for Zewu-Jun illustrious character, and not even the rest of their inner family, their elders, or cousins or anyone else.

And Wangji won't tell them either. He won't even tell Wei Ying.

That's his and Xichen's secret to keep.

That's his brother's last wish. Nobody has fulfilled any of his wishes while he was alive, the last thing Wangji can do is fulfill them in his death.

(Wangji knows, because he knows his brother. He knows how to read between the lines, knows where to look to find answers.

If he had been the one to die, Xichen would have known too.

They've always read one another well.)

The door opens, and startles Wangji out of his numbness. Wei Ying and Lan Qiren walk in, followed by three other elders. Wangji knows them well. He almost killed them 13 years ago.

Wangji can't be bothered to acknowledge anyone but his uncle and his husband, though, so he only nods their way once.

Wei Ying looks down, and Lan Qiren stares at nothing in particular, expressionless.

One of the elders finally breaks the silence. "Wangji. I know this is a difficult moment for you. It is for us all. But there are duties-"

Wangji sends the man a tearful, murderous glare. His lips are drawn tight, but it is easy to guess what he would have said if he opened his mouth to speak. It wouldn't be pleasant.

Another elder cuts in, defiant almost. "You must take in your brother's place as sect leader, whether you like it or not."

Wangji's hand clenches hard around Bichen. "My brother has not even been buried. How quick you are to replace him."

"The sect cannot wait around without a leader."

Wei Ying reaches to touch his husband's free hand, covers it with his own.

Lan Wangji's eyes could not be icier. "You've always been like this. Careless. Are you worried your power might diminish?"

"Wangji. Do not be insolent."

"My brother is lying dead in front of you and you've come to speak to me about politics. Tell me who the insolent one is. Tell me why I shouldn't send you out of here myself."

"You-"

Lan Wangji turns his eyes towards where his brother lays and lights up a candle that had gone out. "Let me grieve in peace. I have no interest in anything you have to say."

"If you do not accept your duty-"

"I have no problem defecting from the Lan sect. Now, leave. Or I will make you. I've done before."

wen qing would make him wear some wen sect clothes and pretend to be mute and shy so no one would notice him, until she could send him back to gusu with a warning about more attacks and what her uncle is planing to do.

would he fall in love with her? someone so brave, going against what was evil to save him. a woman so petit, and so fierce, that tries to protect her family with all she has. a doctor, ahead of all her peers, so brilliant it was sad to know she would never be known for it - because of her name.

and then wen qing says yes when he asks for her hand in marriage because this is the man who almost single handled saved her family and brought them into gusu lan. she may not love him as he loves her, but she's not only impressed by his righteousness, and his powerful cultivation, but glad and finally relaxed enough she can think about her future for the first time. she can learn to love him, it's not so hard. his naivety is cute.

lan wangji would be dubious at first, and then realized this is the perfect sister-in-law he could help (even more so after she helps him win wei ying's heart); wei wuxian would be another one suspicious at first and turned into a friend after a while. nie mingjue would be VERY against it at first, and would be the last to sigh and say fine.

For Him - Domestic bliss for Nail and Him now that everything is out in the open and Nail is secure in Him's feelings. They were so sweet with Honey. And we finally got some Dream/Chaochum scenes! I wish they were the second pairing instead of the detestable Chao. I've rarely been so annoyed by a character that I mute their scenes but here we are. Phai, great sex isn't worth the annoyance. Move on and find a new FWB.

Love For Love's Sake - I'm so glad I started this one. It's a darling little show, beautifully shot. Episodes 1 and 2 set up the game mechanics and introduced a well-rounded cast of interesting characters that I immediately fell in love with. Episodes 3 and 4 gave us the most adorable baby flirt in Yeowoon. The actor is so good: his face changes entirely when he's looking at Myungha now that he's caught feelings.

Pit Babe - Last week was all about the tears, this week was an assortment of character stuff. Alan and Jeff got together finally (the magnetic charm bracelets!) and Pete's storyline has been developed a lot further than I expected when he first appeared, but it's very good. I hope this show results in fic of both pairings because Pete's interactions with both Way and Kenta are just that good. There is so much story in both relationships to explore.

The Sign - Phaya and Tharn, being soft boyfriends in bed for 10 straight minutes is an excellent way to start off an episode.

The Story of Park's Marriage Contract {finished: 5 stars} - The h/c was strong with this one. Loved it. The love story was great and I appreciated that they spent time on the final resolution, instead of making her return a quick fix. It was sad, but it was done well I think. I loved all the characters so much and will be adding it to the list of shows I'd like to rewatch.

Lan Wangji’s lips parted in a muted gasp as her body reacted to the scent before she could even understand where it was coming from. Who it belonged to. “Wei Ying!” Wen Qing glared at someone behind Lan Wangji. “Why can you never be on time?” He snarled, but Lan Wangji could tell there was no heat behind the alpha’s words. “Ahh, gege!” Lan Wangji heard a woman’s voice reply, her tone exaggeratedly cute and childish. “I wasn’t late on purpose,” she whined and Lan Wangji could tell she was now closer, close enough for her scent to completely coat Lan Wangji’s senses. Lan Wangji glanced and noticed the woman, equally tall as her, her hair wild and raven black, her grin flirty, her scent unmistakably alpha. “Don’t be mad, gege,” Wei Ying continued pouting. “Disgusting,” Wen Qing frowned. “Don’t do that cutesy thing. It doesn’t suit you at all,” he looked utterly nauseous. “Stop it!” “Why? Does it confuse the alpha in you?” Wei Ying wiggled her eyebrows before breaking into a laugh. “Ah, stop it,” Huaisang appeared and nudged Wei Ying. “This is Wei Wuxian,” she introduced the alpha to Lan Wangji. “And this is Lan Wangji, Xichen-jie’s younger sister,” she smiled at Wei Wuxian. “Hello,” Wei Wuxian turned to Lan Wangji, the curiosity and interest clear as day on her face as she eyed Lan Wangji from head to toe shamelessly. “I’ve heard so much about you,” she licked her lips as she met Lan Wangji’s eyes again. Lan Wangji bit back the ‘shameless!’ that was about to fall out of her mouth and maintained as cool and aloof an expression as she could muster despite the way her throat had gone dry and her toes curled inside her socks. “I haven’t heard of you at all,” Lan Wangji said simply, preparing to excuse herself and hide in the bathroom for at least the next fifteen minutes.

Day: I

Prompt: Aquarium.

Lan Wangji let out his breath.

Easing the tension around his shoulders, rolling his neck and consciously unclenching his jaw.

The cool darkness of the Mermaid auditorium surrounded him on all sides, three walls of thick glass. The hazy blue depths of chemical treated water always reminded him of home. The pastel blue walls, the overwhelming sense of peace and silence after so long around children.

He could hear the water lapping against the glass, the bubbles from the filters, the muted voices from the school field trip a room over having lunch.

The auditorium was dark and empty, it smelled of the chemicals used to keep the fish healthy, and of wet earth and that briny, fishy, smell he was worried would never come out of his clothes.

The water shifted, the waves slapped harder against the glass.

Lan Wangji opened his eyes, blinking several times to ensure he was not hallucinating.

There was a mermaid in the tank.

He was lean with dark skin. There was a scar on his chest, but it was hard to make out in the water and the black fish-net shirt he wore with a long trailing ribbon tied at his back to keep it cinched around his chest, exposing his lean torso.

Curly dark hair floated in the water around a face of sharp, slightly, boyish features of a twenty-something young man.

He swam behind a rock outcropping emerging from a cave closer to the glass.

His fin was similar to a Gobionidae, but instead of gold, his scales were red, with extra dorsal and tail fins that floated when he was still, to flared along his body as he moved. Creating a dramatic appearance that mimicked a real life fish.

He swam up to meet another mermaid, one Lan Wangji recognized.

Lou Qingyang was wearing yellow, her outfit more regal with stones and gems that sparkled when she caught the light.

Watching them move around each other was ethereal. Even though he knew it was fake, he could believe they were mermaids, even as the surfaced every five minutes for air, even with the safety divers lurking in the dark, they moved as if they were born for the water.

The young man especially, he held his breath for longer, and the way he twisted, diving between rocks and through caves, and swimming between the fish for a dramatic appearance. Blue and white pearls woven into his hair, set against dark hair.

Lan Wangji watched him, wondering what it would feel like to run his hands through that hair, tugging on each pearl until-

"Yuanyuan, I don't think we're supposed to leave." Lan Jingyi's voice jerked Lan Wangji back to alertness. Turning around he saw his own nephew and Wei Yuan, his favorite student thought he'd never say that aloud, already across the room, standing at a door that read Staff Only.

"Lan-laoshi said I could say hi to diedie." Wei Yuan said pulling open a door that should have been much to heavy for a six-year-old.

The silence of the auditorium was replaced by heavy machinery, air filters not muted behind thick glass.

Lan Wangji was on his feet, following them before the door could swing shut.

He tried to call for them, they were halfway up the stairs, the sounds were louder in here, an assault on his ears. The chemicals burned his nose and throat, choking his words before he could even utter them.

He ran up the stairs, his feet pounding against the industrial steel, his heart racing as horrible images of both boys falling into the fish tank, their tiny bodies unable to float because of their heavy winter coats. His brain conjured images of them, bloated and blue in the face, with glassy eyes, being pulled from the tank.

He reached the top of the stairs in the service area. He didn't know a single thing about anything here other than everything could be dangerous for two curious little boys.

Said boys were currently standing on a catwalk over the large tank Wei Yuan was turning a lamp on and off in a pattern.

"Lan Jingyi, Wei Yuan." It didn't sound like him when he spoke. His voice was dry, hoarse, and rough.

He was uncomfortably reminded of his father in his final hours.

Lan Jingyi jumped at his voice, spinning with wide guilty eyes.

"Yuan-er! My little radish."

It was the mermaid.

His hair was plastered to his face, a pearl resting in the center of his forehead like a prince of old before he pushed it back, swimming over to the catwalk.

Wei Yuan sat on the catwalk, his father pulled himself out of the water, twisting expertly to sit in it beside his son, his fin drifting in the water.

Water rolled down his neck and chest, dark skin pebbling in the cold air.

"Jiujiu." Lan Jingyi said, "Yuan said we could come back here, he said baba gave him permission."

Lan Wangji looked at the child in question, his gaze colliding with dark eyes sparkling with interest. A large, guileless smile, and dark red cheeks.

Wei-xiansheng looked down at his son, "Yuan-er, did you ask?"

Wei Yuan crossed his arms, huffing at his father, "Of course I did diedie. And I even made sure Lan-xiangsheng came with us to supervise."

Wei-xiansheng blinked, dark eyes darting to Lan Wangji again. "Lan…xiansheng. You're Lan Xichen's younger brother? You're the new teacher at Cloud Recess Academy?"

Lan Wangji nodded, "Mn."

"You teach the kids archery and Bei Pai?"

"It is a new course. Wei Yuan is the top performer." Pride and fondness warmed his tone. Though he could trust his typical frigid personality would prevent Wei-xiansheng from noticing and calling him on his favoritism.

Wei Yuan pulled himself up, smiling brightly.

Wei-xiansheng stared at him a moment longer before he smiled, long and slow, like he'd seen something he'd been looking for for weeks.

"I see." He said turning back to his son, "Did you tell Lan Xichen where you were going?"

Wei Yuan's lower lip slid out, "Diedie!"

"Oh you naughty boy!" Wei-xiansheng attacked his son, tickling him until Wei Yuan's delighted laughter echoed around the tank service area, "You've been listening to Wen Qing too much, you scheming little sea bunny. I should throw you in the tank and make you go home wet."

"Diedie no!" Wei Yuan managed to get away from his father, scurrying behind Lan Wangji, leering at Wei-xiansheng from behind his leg.

Wei-xiansheng collapsed in laughter just as delighted as his son.

Lan Wangji put a hand on Wei Yuan's head, looking down at him.

"You must be transparent about your intentions. What would happen if you and Jingyi were hurt and unable to signal your father?"

Wei Yuan stares at him with those large, soft brown eyes that reminded Lan Wangji of his rabbit, and of his mother.

"Yes Lan-laoshi."

When he turned back to Wei-xiansheng, he met dark eyes, warm and bright. A playful smile, and a lean body still tantalizingly wet.

"Wei Ying." He held out a hand, his hand was mostly smooth, he had callouses along his fingers that suggested sword work, but they were must softer than told of regular work.

"Lan Zhan, courtesy, Wangji."

His eyebrows rose, and his smile twitched higher, "I see. Yes, yes…it's all coming together." He said.

"Diedie I wanna stay with you!" Wei Yuan said loudly, still holding onto Lan Wangji's pant leg.

Wei Ying glanced between him and his son, "Someone would have to wait with you baby, and Qing-gugu isn't here today."

"I can wait with him."

Lan Wangji wanted to know what was wrong with his mouth.

First it was volunteering to chaperone the class on their field trip, now it was offering to stay extra hours until Wei Ying's shift ended.

Wei Ying, for his part, did not seem surprised at the offer, rather his smile canted higher, his eyes shining bright under the florescent lights.

"I have a feeling that would have been the end result anyway. As long as it's okay with Lan Xichen." He pointed to a bank of steel grey lockers behind them, "My clothes are in 316, in my bag are a few visitor passes, just make sure you clip it where it's visible. If anyone asked, tell them you're with me."

Music poured from the speakers, Wei Ying flinched, "That's my que. I have to go, Yuan-er this conversation isn't over. Tell Lan Xichen I'm talking to him too."

Wei Yuan was smiling as bright and beguiling as his father, "Okay!"

Wei Ying sighed, shaking his head, he looked at Lan Wangji again, smiling turning mischievous,

"I'll see you in a couple of hours."

He winked, diving below the water before Lan Wangji could get his brain back on track to answer him.

Lan Zhan is a ghost in his house, some strange miracle, a hallucination that somehow has flesh and so Wei Ying gives himself to him and gives himself to him because that is what you do with dreams you do not wish to wake from.

My comments: A dreamy, beautifully written fairy tale that will leave you with a vivid and ethereal image (I'd LOVE to see art of this). 'Fae lan wangji' is a FABULOUS tag. The whole story is fae.

Excerpt: ...there’s a knock on his door.

In the middle of the night. All he can think of is it must be one of his neighbors- though none live within a li of him- coming with some terrible emergency. A fire. A fever. A flood.

He jumps up, shedding spare clothing and quilts and finds the stub of a candle and makes his way to the door only to find a man standing there. Long and thin, dressed all in fine white clothes, ghostly in the flickering light. Flowing black hair and striking golden eyes. He’s the most beautiful thing Wei Ying has ever seen. More beautiful than the marsh at sunrise, more beautiful than the great river of the stars, more beautiful than cranes in flight.

C) -and the last one is about the characters in mo dao zu shi are trapped in a room or it was a barrier well the thing is that they don't know why and they are made to see what a future would be like where lan wangji is the one who manages the resentful energy and what's more he is a xianwang.

16. Hi! Please help me find this fic. Its modern cultivation au where WWX, WQ, WN called for a night hunt by a mayor. They are not the only one called, the mayor called Lan clan too to solve a problem that related to Mo manor (?). WWX has a past with Lan clan that make him have a grudge with them. So, 10 years ago, WWX and LWJ has a mission that resulted WWX hospitalized. He is poisoned (a deadly one) and almost died. But he didnt recieve a care because he is fired by the Lan because he was reported many times of misconduct by LWJ. The Lan clan too claimed that they already give a notice email that WWX didnt recieved. Back to present, LWJ who only heard of that story start to investigate and found out it was Su She who made WWX fired from the job

18. Apologies for dropping this in right after you've posted a fic finder. I'm looking for two fics.

A) The first is where Lan Wangji, having learned Wei Wuxian has lost his core, uses an old technique that allows him to grow a second golden core (the idea being the user would absorb the second to make the original stronger), so he can donate one golden core to Wei Wuxian.

B) The second is where Wei Wuxian has been cursed or enchanted in some way that he can't remember Lan Wangji, who enters the Burial Mounds disguised as a new Wen so he can get to the bottom of it with the other Wens helping him in the ruse. There's a scene close to the end where he comes across Wei Wuxian being wooed by someone (think it was Su She) wearing his Wen disguise. It leads to a confrontation where Wei Wuxian tries to defend the false Lan Wangji against the real one and it leads to the spell breaking.

I am looking for a fic I’m 90% I found on y’all’s blog and I meant to bookmark it for later and I didn’t and so now it is lost. 😔. But the summary was something like a negotiation between WWX and LWG and WWX makes a joke that goes along the lines of “well if you want nothing else then I’ll have to offer you my body.” And then LWG’s eyes like darken or something and WWX is like “oh you do want that.”

I hope this is enough and makes sense.

20. Hey :), I'm just trying to find an all old fic where Wei Wuxian didn't get torn to pieces and instead ended up immortalised. I half suspect that it was removed from ao3 but the details are as follows: wwx 'dies' but is found breathing, the cultivation world examines his body and finds him at gates of immortality essentially.

At this point JC figures out the core thing because they build a shrine for him and bring suiban (still sealed but he can remove it) and LQR does too (independently examing the body). When demonic cultivation starts being a problem again LQR starts a rumour that they need to "fight fire with fire' and efforts begin after 13 years to resurect Wei Ying. He wakes up mad, storms into a conference and LWJ follows him out when he storms out. He bumps into Jingyi at the koi tower steps, later down the line adopts Mo XuanYi from the Mo village (joking that his name is stranger isntead of saying hes the YLZ), end up wearing lwj overrobe at one point and finally once again travelling with LY and LJY.

Plot really picks up when they enter the town which was affected by the demonic cultivation. It is deserted, but they encounter the being that tormented him in the burial mound, XY, and other new-immortals. Its revelead immortality is gained through suffering like WWX had and he's forced to accept a demonic core to save JC and JL. He dies once again in Gusu but LWJ keeps pooling qi into him, which makes his resurrection faster.
