Have you ever watched Euphoria? Is so do you have any thoughts on the acting on that show? I always here mixed reviews.

I watched the first episode and half of the second one, but really didn't like the show, unfortunately! I might try and give it another go though – I was looking through the nominations and realised I'd actually seen almost everything in the 'main' categories this year, so might try and watch the few I haven't over the next two months before the awards. It's what I usually do for the Oscars, and I love getting a sense of what's being acknowledged and awarded and feeling the stakes a bit, haha.

A 30ª edição dos prémios SAG (Screen Actors Guild Awards) decorreu recentemente. Está na altura de revelar os vencedores!

Nas categorias de cinema, tanto Barbie como Oppenheimer tinham quatro nomeações cada. No entanto, no final, a biopic de Christopher Nolan levou para casa três prémios, incluíndo Melhor Ensemble e Melhor Actor. Barbie, de Greta Gerwig veio para casa de mãos a abanar.

actually fascinating how the whole succession cast has these eerie similarities with their characters. jeremy strong's intense method acting tying in with kendall being such a desperate try-hard, totally oblivious to the impression he makes on others, has been talked about endlessly. but also sarah snook feeling like she wasn't good enough to play shiv, the alienation of being the only australian in rooms full of seasoned american actors, and the tremendous pressure and loneliness that shiv feels despite her competence. alan ruck saying that he's waited 35 years for a role that he deserves, and the neglect connor has experienced his entire life. kieran winging his scenes, not worrying too much about the roots of his characters' psyche, and generally being this like freewheeling fuck with the exact same sense of humour as roman. brian cox coming in with the gravitas of being an actual self-made titan in his field, like logan. matthew macfadyen being an outcast in the american acting world despite being so famous in the uk, and playing tom, mr princess diana. nicholas braun going from doing shitty romcoms to being a critically acclaimed actor getting emmys noms who is on a first name basis with former presidents vs greg's meteoric rise. annabelle dexter-jones coming from a super influential and famous ny family like naomi, and spending her teenage years getting high in the museum of natural history. james cromwell (a lifelong activist for animal rights, racial justice and environmental causes) forcing jesse armstrong to rewrite uncle ewan to reflect his own politics so that his character takes a stand against the family. and, of course, arian moayed and stewy both being brilliantly competent incredible charismatic flawless icons. there are so many parallels it's actually funny those casting directors are wizards
