I remember when I used to put myself on suicide watch. I would inform everyone around me that I wasn't doing well. My intrusive thoughts and hallucinations were getting worse. I'd hand over my medications and only keep that weeks worth on me. I asked people to check up on me.

I don't do that anymore. Not because I think no one cares, but because its a burden.

Because I once asked a friend to hold my meds and he offered to give them back when he got angry with me.

Because I know its a lot to handle and deal with. Because I don't listen. Because I drink and smoke and ignore my phone.

Being on suicide watch means nothing to me. It started to feel like telling my friends I was going to kill myself and there was nothing they could do about it. Because they didn't want to be around me when I'm all but an open wound. Because I cannot articulate just how painful it is to exist without them telling me its okay.

Because I'm strong.

I want to scream at them for being selfish. For thrusting strength upon me at my weakest.

To watch me struggle.

I don't have medication anymore. There's nothing to overdose on unless I start drinking like a monster again. And I consider that too. No one checks on me here. And that's fine.

There's no need to announce my misery because its clear they dont care.

"The cripples are all crazy and deserve to die."

Words uttered in my presence.

So I'm not on suicide watch anymore. I just let the waves of ideation wash over me. And try not to react accordingly.

Ahogados unos que se callan lo que piensan, por miedo a perder a alguien. Que se tragan lo que sienten porque tal vez no es suficiente con sentirlo.

¡Qué va! Ahogado tú, que te quedas allí sentado, perdiendo la millonésima oportunidad de hacer algo que por fin valga la pena.

Ahogado tú, que ves la vida pasar y sólo eso haces: verla. Verla ser, verla existir, verla vivir sin necesitarte, sin siquiera extrañarte.

Her hair was jaggedly cut above the shoulders, her ears pierced with multiple rings, and she was dressed in a loose cardigan, top, and ripped jeans. She looked out of place when compared to the rest of the other agents. She looked over to me, her bright watery eyes looking me up and down. She leaned against the door frame, something between a sneer and vague interest appeared on her face.

“Oh...the interloper.” She said, casually referring to me.

“The liaison, Syl.” Josephine corrected, her voice a cool warning.

“Cool.” Sylvia gave me a short quick wave of the hand, and turn. “Bye.”

Josephine shook her head, and pinched the bridge of her nose. “Sylvia Blackwood, another witch of particular talent, no manners, and my younger sister.”
