Jared’s convinced Julius to actually start helping him in the kitchen, decided to tackle some of the more ambitious recipes provided by the team nutritionist, and sometimes the recipes fail and they suffer through it or order delivery, but sometimes him and Julius are sharing a silent, proud nod before shovelling greatness into their mouths.

The first indication there’s something officially rotten between Jared and Oilers management is, well — it’s not subtle.

I know this sounds like it’s stating the obvious (and it is), but Greg is just straight up having the realization now because he really didn’t think any of this would fall out the way it did, like, it’s the 21st century, who cares anymore, right?

Don and Jared are so often at cross purposes in the narrative that it’s always nice when Don is 100% on Jared’s side.

“They can do whatever the fuck they want,” Jared snaps. “I’m not you, Bryce, if the Flames scratched you the entire city would be speculating about what the fuck got their star player scratched. They can do whatever they want to me, doesn’t matter if it makes sense, doesn’t matter if it’s just out of spite, and I can’t do shit, and they know it, and they’re making sure I know it. This is just—”

It’s a message. They can do whatever the fuck they want, they can make Jared sit out a game against his husband, they can make Jared sit out a game in front of his family, they can make Jared sit out a game in his hometown. They can do whatever the fuck they want, and they have.

But Jared, you need to pay attention to how you come off. You’re not Bryce, you can’t antagonise your management.” Jared doesn’t know if she means that he’s not as good as Bryce, which is accurate, or that she’s implying Bryce has antagonised Flames management, which is — also accurate, but either way he’s pissed.

“Sorry,” Jared says. “I’m so terribly sorry my marriage has been mildly inconvenient for my management, of course they’re right to scratch me, because otherwise how else could I learn—”

“This is exactly what I’m talking about, Jared,” she interrupts. “You’re still young, and I don’t think you realise—”

Susan’s seen a lot of people’s attitudes sink them, and she doesn’t want it happening to Jared This… may not be the ideal time for her to state this. None of the Mathesons are good at holding their tongues when they’re upset. Susan’s typically the best of the bunch, but then, she's quite upset.

Julius has the same protest as everyone else, that he’s playing well, and Jared still appreciates it, maybe extra from Julius, who’s protesting like he’s annoyed his line is getting worse. Not that Greg, his dad, Bryce didn’t mean it about Jared’s play, not that they wouldn’t know what good play looks like either, not just in general, but good play for Jared in particular. But with Julius it’s less ‘why are they scratching you, then?’ and more ‘how dare they take my linemate away? You being scratched personally inconveniences me and I am not here for it’.

I love that Julius being upset for selfish reasons makes Jared happy.

“I could—” Julius says.

“Don’t,” Jared says, before he finishes whatever he was about to offer. Jared’s pretty sure the best thing for him, for this stupid fucking situation, is to grit his teeth and smile and bear it, that Julius protesting, or talking to Deslauriers, anything like that, would just set Deslauriers against him more.

Jared is correct.

114 - Rejection

The Oilers go to Calgary. And like, Jared’s not excluding himself in that. He’s on the flight, obviously, because scratched players travel with the team — the whole point of having more dudes on your roster than on the bench is so they’re there if someone gets hurt or sick last minute, or like, married a Flame and is subsequently getting punished for it.

So, I guess this is as good a time as any to come out as a fake First stan because I haven’t actually watched his full filmography 🙈—mostly because I have a super low tolerance for het stuff. But I am always happy to chat about First, so here are my power rankings for the couples I have seen.

Khaotung

What can I say? I’m obsessed with these two. Although I think their physical chemistry could still use some work, no one is going to top them in emotional scenes. You don’t get the “You can be weak—at least with me” scene in The Eclipse if it’s not First and Khaotung. You don’t get that raw emotional connection. There are only three branded pairs working right now that I truly believe make each other better actors and FK is one of them.

Mix

5 minutes. That’s how long we got to see these two happy and in love. 5 fucking minutes. I kind of alluded to this above, but one of the things I think FK are still learning is how to make their intimate scenes more realistic. Their touches are very…polite. Mix is not polite. He plays sultry really well and is a natural flirt. The fact that First and Mix were able to sell this relationship (and make us root for it) with only five minutes of screen time is truly impressive. I’m looking forward to seeing them work together again in Only Friends.

Gawin

I need slutty First back, you guys. I miss him so much. Him and Gawin both have a very wide range and I would love to see them work together again. A lot of Dan and Yok's interactions are awkward, but they’re supposed to be. For two young actors who had never worked together before, I think First and Gawin did a fantastic job. I mean, they had me shipping my fave with a cop, so they must have done something right.

Ohm

Listen, I will be a The Shipper apologist until the day I die and the PanKhet romance is simply top tier. I’m still amazed at what First was able to do here as a relatively young actor playing two different characters sharing one body and somehow still managing to keep his chemistry with each of the pairs consistent throughout (i.e. First as Kim’s chemistry with Ohm is different than First as Pan’s chemistry with Ohm.) I do have to deduct points, however, for the fact that all of this delicious romantic chemistry was taking place between brothers, but hey. You can’t win them all.

Fluke

Fluke should not be so low on this list and I think if him and First were to work together now it would be an entirely different story, but what makes his chemistry with First a bit more difficult to judge is that for most of their intimate scenes, First and Prigkhing are splitting the lines between them (since they are, you know, sharing a body and all). It’d be interesting to see them work together now, though. I think they would kill it.

LISTEN. Go watch this commercial if you haven’t already. It’s fantastic. And honestly, if I had more material to judge them on, these two might jump all the way up to 4th. You wonder if they even remember filming this? They should make it into an actual BL.

That's everything I've seen, but feel free to let me know in the comments if I need to watch more of First's het stuff. I'll suffer through it for him. Maybe.

And, as a bonus, I would sell a kidney to see him in a BL with Tay Tawan. I know it'll never happen, but a girl can dream.

If you aren't tired of talking about maneskin and fashion already, may I ask what are your fave Vic outfits? Looking at it from the perspective of Vic as a separate individual, not part of a band. I am more into women's fashion so I find it hard to look at Vic's outfits as just a part of a whole and some of the outfits that are iconic for the fandom bc how well they work together with the boys' just look ugly and unflattering to me.

staring with this iconic moment the rush wedding promo . i love this so much i love the mix of textures and fabrics between the dress the lace veil the fur there’s a lot going on but not so much that it clashes i love the accessories esp the gloves but i think the best thing about the outfit for me is for sure the jacket i love the that it bro he’s thsi huge dramatic shape to the outfit i love the slightly off white colour so it’s breaking up the whiteness just a little without changing the meaning of the outfit completely . i love this it feel bridal but in a vintage kind of vegas wedding way it still feels sexy and a little slutty which is so good for her she looks amazing idc

gonna keep a similar vibe and look at a few more dresses like . tbh miss girl could walk out in a potato sack and still pull it off she’s so beautiful . but what i live about these is the way they’re accessorised bc it makes it more than just wearing a dress and more crating an outfit i love the inclusion of the belt across the balck dress personally it’s not something i would’ve thoight of doing bc i feel liek that drop waist effect paired with a low rise belt would cut off the torso in a way u wouldn’t like but this just goes to show u if u don’t at least try it ur never gonna find out i like it i love it the same goes for the ruffle shawl i think it just elevates the outfit and brings out more personality

i’m gonna put all three of these your outfits in the same category bc these to me are just quintessential victoria stage outfits titties out looking hot she eats every single fuckinf time . i think the third on there is also extremely underrated i love the shoulder pads and the kind of exaggerated silhouette from them i love the way that the stuffing helps to emphasise her figure and break up the outfit a little i think she looks phenomenal in it . u can probably tell i love a globe moment i think they’re a super underrated accessory and it makes me so happy to see her wearing them i also love dark colours and smoky grunge makeup on her i think it’s super complimentary to her skin tone esp the navy blue i genuinely believe that it so fucking phenomenal on her and i love the mix of fabrics there the pvc and the velour it’s just . so iconic .

this is just a little appreciation for her causal outfits too i love the way vic dresses herself and watching her over the past 2 years kind of fidn and develop her style has been so interesting i love that she’s kept these vintage vibes and brings it into modern trend with the y2k but still manages to keep a slightly western vintage tie in which i adore i think her layering is super fun playing with different lengths styles and fabrics in her shirts she knows herself and her body super well she knows what works for her and she’s super fucking hot

this is me in my controversial era i love vic una. suit . i love the tartan suit i think it’s hate on a little too much i think the colours compliment her well and the fit is amazing it’s tailored perfectly i LOVE that chunky belt almost straying into corset belt territory with that cinching effect i love the gloves and how they match the belt and the shoes like the gloves just add in that little bit of Sexy that’s in every måneskin outfit and i think she looks great .

they also went through a phase with these huge feather cuffs i remember them wearing them on a talk show and in the gucci campaigns they did a while back they definitely wore a lot of this in their gucci era and honestly i live for it i think she looks so cool and i wanted an outfit like this so bad when i saw her wearing that . i also love vic in pink . idk vic in suits i love its a completely different silhouette than her stage outfits and they’re always styled and accessorised to still emulate that femininity and sex that’s integral to her personality

Season 1, episodes 1-6

I forgot how good the writing and animation are in the first season, like they truly thrived under aniplex😔 the brief white blood period in I think season 3 shows us just how good we had it

I love seeing Hawk and Meliodas's relationship, and his star Boar earring😭 plus having the Boar hat as the main location is just so comforting !!

Also I JUST realized his name is hawk because of a ham hok😭😭 this is like when I realized toe mater's name was tomato at the ripe age of 18

I miss the holy knights being powerful. Like I get that the Sins are always more powerful than them, had a long way to go in terms of power ups, and meliodas straight up had most of his power sealed but like DAMN. They were so cool in season 1 !! Gil was such a badass😭 I guess I just wish that the holy knights powered up along with the Sins

Seeing the very first episode got me thinking about the original pilot Manga (chapter 0) and how cool it might have been !! Like I love the story we got, but I do think those versions of Mel and Elizabeth maybe would have been better than the ones we got😳 like I just really like Meli's original design, I feel like he looks a bit older, and chapter 0 Elizabeth is simply superior ngl. She's funny, brave, and assertive - a lot more like Liz and goddess Elizabeth, except funnier

The first half of season 1 has one of my fave intro and outros like damn I forgot how fucking cool they were. Some of my fave songs to !! (my all time fave is def howling from season 3 part 2 (i think lol) tho)

Also Gil is such a badass in early episodes, I love his strength !! This moment is the fucking coolest and you can't convince me otherwise

Overall, I think the attention to detail is just better, the sounds the armor makes, the animation and drawings (esp background characters), Meliodas just sounds a bit older too (and I have theories on his voice here if u want them 👀)

The whole perv thing is really exhausting really quickly. Almost surprised 14 year old me made it through this as the 2nd anime I ever watched and the 1st I watched alone

I feel like Diane got shorter through the seasons. Like she doesn't compare to Hawk Mama like she did in season 1, and I think that's a damn shame. Let my giant girl be giant !!

She's also a decent bit more violent and I enjoy that thoroughly. She's just a silly goofy kween😌

Also her original costume is superior, her boots are just👌

Just realized that Meliodas was like an older brother/mentor to Gil and now they're brothers in law 😭😭

Also young Elizabeth and Gil are so cute😭 I always forget that they grew up together too

Okay SO in episode 5, when Ban is about to get his scar from the dragon handle sword, he tells Meliodas "you and me have been hanging together for a lot of years now." This scene takes place 12 years before present (bp). Does this mean Ban and Meliodas were friends before the formation of the Sins? Or was Ban the first after him and Merlin? Ban has been immortal 20 years BP, leaving 8 years in between present and the flashback. 8 years before this scene, Meliodas was still in Danafal/Danfor and would be for another 4 years. What does any of this mean? Idk, just thot it was intriguing lol.

Also how did I not notice this is the first time we see demon!Meliodas !! Baby's first sighting as an unnatural creature with otherworldly rage🥰🥰

Also the fact we never see the scar Gil gave him again lol. Plus him presumably needing to do demon mode so hellfire can heal him is actually rlly cool

Just thought about how Elizabeth laying her hand on his chest to check the scar was the first time in years his love touches him with gentleness or concern🥲🥲

The fact that it took me 6 years to realize that when Meliodas says he'll keep the promise he made to Elizabeth, even if she should die is referencing the promise he made to her originally to break their curses🥲😬😤😭😭😭😭

6'11 Ban thinking that he even had a chance in fitting in Jericho's armor is just so... him

Diane calling Elizabeth kiddo is so fucking cute🥺

Also they definitely get away with a lot more innuendos and swears. The words badass and foreplay in the same episode? Impressive

If you loved Restoration Ecology by @captain-aralias and are as obsessed with it as I am, then you are going to FLIP for this remix that holds pretty close to the original plot, but shows it all through Baz’s POV. The events of each chapter are roughly the same, with a few new off camera scenes, and the dialogue is the same, but the author adds SO MUCH just by fleshing out how Baz perceives everything and all he is going through (but keeping under wraps from Simon). We’re four chapters in and it’s updating almost daily so don’t miss out!

aaaa I'm so glad! DM have such beautiful sultry songs; I love how Martin when asked about lyrics is like 'it's about sex.' but the interviewer is trying to find some other meaning (half of the genius lyrics annotations online is2g) so I just love those unabashedly slutty guys. YKW I really tried to listen to the new album a few times and it wasn't my thing- but that's because I feel like it is very mature for them and the music production in the modern era is just a different monster than it was back then when it was more experimental. But I liked it non-the less. It just isn't something I go back to often.

I got to see them for the first time back in April or May in Montreal and it was magical. I wish they would have played more off of music for the masses (my fave of theirs) but regardless it was fantastic and dave's sexy lil moves were soooo funny and cute. I love that they still got big spirit and energy.

Kasey you're a doll and I love you so much!!!

Firstly I had actually watched Hakuouki and had been on a Shinsengumi binge when I was like "I wanna roleplay a Shinsengumi member but no one in Hakuouki is calling to me... Oh I know Imma watch my fave Shinsengumi anime!!" and so I grabbed my boxset of Peacemaker and after watching it it was like.. he was around the corner, peeking out going "...Hijikata-san??" and it was like "YES I WILL PLAY THIS BOY"

He became canon-divergent (or basically canon what canon??) when all the Shinsengumi rpers started falling away. School, work, family, other interests... one by one they started either moving to new characters or leaving the site completely. I was surrounded by OCs and modern muses, and Souji had to adapt to survive in the changing times. In the 8 or so years I've been roleplaying him he's changed quite a bit, but I'd like to think the core parts that make Souji who is remain (even if he doesn't fight nearly as much as he used to)

Boy oh boy PMK rpers are hard to come by!! Even when I started they were. In fact, for a long time, it was just me and @byakushisakura-rp who did any PMK rp. The rest of my Shinsengumi fandom fam were Hakuouki. They were kind enough to adopt my Souji so he has a lot of history with them. I'm lucky to have @youmatou-kaiken still as a PMK rper (and @peacemaking-gunslinger when Izzy isn't busy with things) but many others have fallen away which makes me sad. It's my hope that Chrono-sensei will finish and then they'll re-do the anime like they did FMAB and then canon Souji will be like MY FAMILY HAS RETURNED!!!

My favorite part about writing Souji?? Oh boy, it's that he's so flexible and complex. He's kind but he can be stern. He's loving but he can be cold. He's violent but he doesn't like to fight. He's bold but he's shy. He's slutty but also pure. He's a walking mass of contradictions which makes writing him in different situations so much fun. He's just... he's very real and human.

Oh boy... Ayato came from a long stint of me not feeling good about my writing, of people losing interest in me (all my head btw) and thinking "what can I do??" I wasn't feeling interested in writing but Souji wanted to be out and about, so I devised a scenario. What if he met someone connected to his mother?? It was only meant to be a friend, a connection he didn't have that would lead to more connections so he would get to know more about his family. As I started working with him, however, Souji and Ayato clearly were becoming attracted to each other, and this was before I even finalized my plans. Ayato was never really meant to be involved with Souji in the way he turned out, but you know what?? Sometimes the best things happen when you're being rebelled against lol. It was clear immediately that they were going to be together and so I was like "fuck it they're a thing now..." God, I remember the backlash from that LOL but I don't regret doing it. And since then I've got quite a few NPCs that I write from time to time. It was an attempt to remind myself that I wasn't writing for others, but for myself.

Actually I do think Ravn is sus, and the agency didn't deny everything. Depends on the music show really, because of my height I couldn't be close to the stage at Inkigayo lol. I think they did one or two takes that's it. It was pre-covid so the rules were a bit different. Sometimes waking up early/staying up late wasn't fun, but the whole experience was better than I expected, the staff was usually very nice! I went to pre-recordings only
