Rewatching, THE BEST STORY, starring Mark & Vee from LOVE MECHANICS
It’s a series that I watched (2 years ago), but inadvertently left off my list.
I wonder where it will wind up on my list?
It’s only 3-2 part eps. So bingeing it.
PS I LOVE War Wanarat! He’s adorable. And a pretty decent actor! 😻 A, very, natural actor.
PPS Too bad, Fern!!!
***********************
(Unfortunately, near the second half of ep. 3, 1/2, the series loses English subtitles! )
Spoilers Ahead (Do not read on if you don’t want to get a taste of the ending!!!!):
F*cking Fern outed Best & Dew to Dew’s mother!!!!! NOBODY SHOULD EVER DO THAT!!!!! Heinous move, FERN!
(Subtitles came back for a little while, then gone again!
I hope they’re there for all of the second part of the final episode! I’ll let you know! Frustrating!)
***********************
SPOILER:
Finale was tragic, heart-breaking, which is probably why I left it off my list!
More Spoilers:
Fern NEVER admitted to destroying the possible future relationship for Dew & Best and Dew never found out about her betrayal!
The outcome of Fern’s outing of Best (and the possibility of feelings between him & Dew) to Dew’s mother: the mother decided Dew would go live in Chiang Mai with his father & go to Uni there. The last day of H.S., she packed his bag and told him he was leaving the next day—thus, preventing any possibility of a final contact between the two boys.
THE END!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Such a sad, tragic ending.
Couldn’t they, at least have fast forwarded 4 years and had them meet again? Or shown them getting together, over the years, somehow in Bangkok or Chiang Mai?
Real life sucks—I want my fairy tale happy ending!
😢 😭

Is it just me, or is this thumbnail incredibly misleading? I don't think he even answered the question in the title. It feels weird and gross.

On some days, they were allowed to spend time in a child’s toy-filled bedroom, but they would spent most nights sleeping on mattresses in the corridor. They were not physically harmed and often ate pitta and cheese with their captors until food became scarce. They were always watched over by at least three of their six heavily armed guards. “Because some of them would go and fight and then come back, that’s what they told us,” Almog-Goldstein said. The family tried to establish a relationship with their guards, engaging them in long conversations as part of a “survival mechanism”. Two spoke some English and another was learning Hebrew. “They kept on telling us they’re not going to harm us and that we were very important to them,” Almog-Goldstein said. “But we were always terrified they would flip on us, that they’d get an order from someone to harm us, because clearly they were low-ranking cogs in the machine. We were constantly in angst or terror.” The guards also discussed politics and the roots of the Israel-Palestine conflict. “Ultimately it would always end with the guards telling us to go read history books; that we’re the ones who expelled them from their lands; we’re the ones who killed them; and we’re the ones who kept them in a pressure cooker that kept bubbling and bubbling until it erupted,” Almog-Goldstein said.
[...]
Almog-Goldstein said she also witnessed moments when her captors displayed “sensitivity and care”. One of the gunmen apologised for the killing of Nadav, whom Almog-Goldstein started dating in high school. “We saw them cry, we saw them miss their wives,” she said. “We saw them writing letters to their wives and putting them in their pockets. We were worried about this, thinking why are you writing a letter now?”
[...]
“I saw a lot of devastation and destruction,” Almog-Goldstein said. “It made me feel terrible seeing such poverty. It was very difficult to see that. It was not a great feeling of: ‘Oh great, we Israelis showed them.’” The three guards apologised for making the family sleep in a storage room in the supermarket but said they had some hope that the war was about to end. The next day the supermarket was hit by shrapnel from an Israeli aerial bombardment. “It was atrocious. It was the first time we really felt like our lives were in danger,” Almog-Goldstein said. “We heard the constant shelling and bombing getting closer and closer and could already see all the stones flying around and the rubble and shrapnel. It was closing up on us to the point where the Hamas guards put mattresses over us on the floor to cover us, and then they covered us with their bodies to protect us from our own forces’ shooting.”

One of those An X of Y and Z books that dumps the heroine into faerie courts and magic politics except the love interest is some other normie who got stuck there named Steve. Actually I probably would read that

AITA for voting on every post I see based purely on the title?
I mean, pretty much just very post I (22F) come across can be immediately answered by reading the title alone. Like, no, you’re not an asshole for trying to establish basic boundaries in a relationship, like come on
Are you sure about that

i really want to see antigone directed and performed in such a way that it's the actor who plays creon that has the last bow at the curtain call, not the actor who plays antigone

ROTTMNT Theory: Leonardo's Face
Tumblr media
(I know this topic had been talked about in other posts before. I had a mighty need to add my 2 cents, along with some pictures.)
We know Leo's gonna grow to be an amazing leader. He's already learning how to work in groups and communicate with his team, and he's even beginning to reel back his prideful behavior.
However, to live by the important life lesson of "we do we", I get the feeling he's not gonna do it the same way as past TMNT iterations. Future Leo in the ROTTMNT movie is proof enough that his humorous quips are here to stay, even after decades of apocalyptic horrors.
Because Leo's right, he IS the face man. He just hasn't realized yet how crucial the face of a team is, or how great of a weapon it can be.
(Show and movie spoilers under the cut.)
Firstly, the face is an important tool for navigating the world around you. It's where three (four counting the ears) of the body's senses are placed. Sure, you can technically live and roam through touch alone, but then you risk missing a lot of information about your surroundings that could impact your life.
Metaphorically speaking, Leo provides this for his team the most often. He uses his highly attuned senses to scan their environment for immediate details. This allows him to adjust their plans to even the slightest changes, or to make quicker deductions based on whatever clues he finds.

Another thing about faces is how prominently they're used for communication. They are one of the most critical tools for social interactions of all kinds, including deception. Mastery of facial gestures is what lets so many actors/actresses thrive when putting on believable performances.
Continuing the metaphor, Leo has proven himself to be a master of persuasion so many times throughout the Rise series. His easygoing charm can make him both motivating for loved ones and easy to underestimate for opponents.

Once Leo's self confidence improves some more, his social intelligence gives him the potential to become terrifyingly powerful. The ability to outwit geniuses by thinking outside the box. Negotiation skills that could put the average politician to shame. Eyes as sharp as his katanas, ones that could read people like comic books. An equally sharp tongue able to flip entire situations in his team's favor through words alone.
Next to hope, Leo's face truly is his most dangerous weapon. He just needs to learn how to not let it control him. I'd love to see Leo further develop this more charismatic style of leadership that tends to set him apart from his past series' counterparts.

Juno Steel and the Terrible Waste.
'kay, let's be reasonable about this. Past Junoverse episodes have mostly just given a vague understanding about what will happen in the episode. Murderous Mask tells you basically nothing about the plot, only about the most important object. Prince of Mars? You learn who that is in the first five minutes. Midnight Fox? Only really relevant for the last few seconds.
Junoverse titles are not the biggest indicator of how an episode will go. There are some incredible titles, like Monster's Reflection, but even that is somewhat misleading — Juno spends those episodes learning that neither he nor Sarah are monsters.
so basically what i'm saying is the episode could still be happy letmedreammmmmmmm

Everyday I am disappointed by the fact that "Poets and Pancakes" is not about poets discussing poetry over breakfast (pancakes) but about a movie studio and communism
