there's something in wangxian fanfics that i hate and that is when any character tries to "cure" wwx's cynophobia

although i don't have a phobia, i /am/ afraid of dogs, especially the big ones, the lil babies not so much bc they're cute and i can always jump somewhere high enough they won't get me bc they're, you know, tiny

and something that i deeply hate is when someone says "you don't have to be afraid, they don't bite" like it's so simple, because, let me tell ya, IT'S NOT!!! it's not something i can decide on a whim that it's ok to pat a big ass dog's head because it's owner told me they don't bite, because it's not a switch i can turn on or off. YES i know they won't bite because they're basically smiling at me but those huge teeth, the huge mouth, just being beside it my heart beats so hard, so loud, and there's fear running through my whole body and the need to just run away or idk jump to the roof like a cat and be stuck

it's like when you're afraid of heights (I ALSO HAVE THAT BTW) and someone says "just don't look down" and haha fuck you???

anyway, what i hate in fanfics is when wwx is deeply afraid of a dog and the character begins "hey it's ok, they won't bite, look they're sitting still" like he can just stop feeling fear after that, magically, suddenly. and then they make him touch said dog, like peer pressure or something, and oh suddenly from nowhere at all wwx starts liking dogs and i hate that

it makes me fell bad i'm still afraid of dogs?? it's not easy to navigate life with this while almost everyone around you are dog lovers/parents/tutors 🥹 and most strangers can and will make you feel bad about it, like it's just a whine, a passing thing, you're just too picky

"why are you afraid, they're so docile!!" well, i almost lost my lower lip to a dog i hugged when i was 6, and then almost lost my knee to a huge one less then 10yrs later, but i'm sure you think it's nothing

pls do remember wwx almost died because of street dogs and that's the root of his fear, he probably have scars through his body from that time

How did the cookie soda taste?

honestly it was a bit of a letdown

i've had a lot of the novelty jones sodas, and those managed to pretty accurately capture flavors like 'gravy' and 'brussels sprouts'

the sugar cookie jones soda just sort of reminded me of... a worse cream soda. it seems like they were trying to capture a lofthouse cookie in particular, but they went too hard on the acid component. like, i used to make these sugar cookie milkshakes all the time, and a key ingredient to making it taste like a sugar cookie was cream of tartar and baking soda. which are weird things to put in a milkshake but it fucking worked. it tastes like they tried to take a cream soda and do something similar to achieve a leavening agent sort of taste, but imho they missed the mark.

I baked some cookies using the same recipe I used last time (ie the one on the back of the bag of chocolate chips) and even though I didn't make them into cookie bars they turned out very cakey. They're still good, but considering there was hardly any spread, I'm thinking of checking my recipes or technique for the next time I bake some.

BIG recommend to the king arthur baking scone mixes!!!!! i've now tried the lemon ginger and the apple cinnamon ones and they have both been so good so delicious such a delight i'm just going to wholeheartedly recommend all the mixes. all of them. please pick one and bake them!!!!!!

#i have the mini scone pan so i do go through the extra effort of. portioning them into sixteen little wells BUT YOU DO NOT HAVE TO #or you can if you want a neat scone pan. you do you beloved internet reader #the mix instructions recommend freezing for a higher scone and i SUPER SUGGEST you do that. then i bake mine from the freezer in the pan #at 400 for 15 minutes. come out a little crispy on the edges and all soft inside and just sooooooo perfect #(your oven time may vary. watch your scone children) #and a lot of them have little chewy candied bits in the mix and GOD IT'S JUST SO GOOD DAMMIT #i use their recipes a lot too for Many baking needs and have rarely been failed by a recipe (and if so it was. on me. but still turned out)

starting to try and work out daily again and i think its just another form of depression i go into cuz last year i worked out consistently 5-6 days a week and i remember being saurrr depressed but it was a lightheaded depression where it was nice to lose count and zone out, certain sensation like a quarter sleeve shirt that was too lightweight would give me a weird overstim when i wasnt paying attention to how it was on my arms and id lose all ability to focus or think for a bit but it was nice tbh, it was a "oh im spacing out this is exctly what i want" so i think im just in a 24/7 depression all the time but it just changes to different types for whatever factors or reasons there are, if any at all
