yknow I’ve gone thru a phase with pretty much all of the original 9 origins EXCEPT blazeborn and enderian.
When first trying the mod, I was phantom. It was my favorite.
Then I took an interest in shulk. Its perks suit me really well
Then I became obsessed with arachnid. That one is good as hell
I started to like merling after playing and making my own merling-like origins, it’s fun and helps me conquer my fear of the minecraft ocean
I also haven’t really played survival as avian much as I prefer higher impact origins, but whenever I go to creative I always pick avian, it is far too fun to use and I would like to do survival with it at some point.
Once the deep dark was added I played feline and it was fun. Still got caught by the warden tho. But feline is good.
I’m currently playing as elytrian now and it’s definitely very fun since I am quite the explorer in minecraft, also one shotting everything with an axe is cool.
Enderian? It’s cool and I’m sure eventually I’ll get into an enderian phase. Just hasn’t happened yet.
Blazeborn… blazeborn?!?! I hate this thing. It’s just. Not interesting. It’s supposed to live in the nether yet it’s so bad at living there. I gotta make my own “improved blazeborn” somehow but I’m not sure what exactly to do with it. Maybe it’s just the nether being too boring.. combined with the fact that in the overworld blazeborn is eh…

Valley of Plenty
So. Lets talk about my upcoming minecraft mod, Valley of Plenty! Originally, it was going to be a datapack release for all my worldgen I had done for my server (RIP). The majority ov the changes coming with the mod are things I've already posted about. However, with this mod, I'll be able to expand greatly on the things I was unable to do on the server due to datapack limitations- as an example, we had ill stone & cobbled ill stone, but these blocks weren't able to be crafted into slabs & stairs.
All this is just for the initial release, I do have plans for updates going in the future, many ov which I've already made substantial progress on! Many features for the first big update, the desert update, will have kinda a ghost drop with 1.0- the blocks may be in the creative inventory, but not spawn in-world, things like that. Again, all ov this was, largely, stuff I had planned for the server.
I had also been working on another mod, WhIM (What Is Missing), that will baaaasically be consumed into Valley of Plenty! This mod sought to bridge some gaps in block groups, like adding the oft-requested Soulstone (Soul Sandstone).
I'll dump some more info under the cut ov the bigger features that are already Pretty Much Done.
First off, Breathing Freely is being implemented into the mod! Breathing Freely is an ambience pack that adds in the same polish to all other biomes that the nether got in its update; ambient sounds, loops, sky colours, the works. You can see the trailer for it here.
Next off, Lillie's Better Wild Update. It's a datapack I had released that added a lot of small, aesthetic changes to the overworld. One change coming with the mod that I was unable to do in datapack form is Wild Crops! They're effectively just... crops that grow in nature, without requiring tilled soil underneath them.
Another huge change with Lillie's Better Wild Update is Combo Cave Biomes! For every cave biome, there are new decorative features placed within them based on the surface cave. This ensures that a Lush Jungle Cave will feel fundamentally different from a Lush Desert Cave, which will feel different from a Dripstone Desert Cave, which will feel different from a Dripstone Dark Forest Cave.
The biggest change for blocks is that andesite, diorite, granite, sandstone, and new underground stone blocks will generate as base cave materials. These blocks can be crafted into furnaces & stone tools, as well as tons ov new decorative blocks. Andesite, Diorite, and Granite are "secondary" stone types, and will have the same options as Tuff as ov 1.21. However, other new stone types, such as Slate and Ill Stone and such will come with the full suite.
The last big changes for v1.0 are the mob reworks I've been posting, and the ability to stack all flowers similar to Pink Petals.

hey, im new here, can you explain the entirety of the minecraft-server-datspace-lore thing? Im very confused
The entire thing? No I can't, that's a lot of lore I made up years ago
The gist of it, however, is that
I need a space to represent the stuff that goes on between brickspace and the in-game minecraft world. The modding, datapack making, world folder editing, hacking, ect ect
We already call it 'world generation' so, I made the things that create the worlds 'world generators'
Anyone can access it (much like anyone can navigate to the %appdata% folder) but most don't
Dataspace (which is what this place is called) is kept at freezing temps (as server rooms are). If you have enough generators crowded together they put out enough heat that it's more bearable
There's an origin point where generator stacks spawns in. Generators are so crowded here, it blocks out the cold entirely
The closer to the origin point it is, the weaker the generator, and the less you can do with it, but the easier it is to work (representation of what you can do with a realms < semi-independent servers < anarchy servers and singleplayer worlds)
Every time you create a world, the generator makes a physical folder on that world in dataspace, connected to the generator itself by a cable. When you delete it, the whole folder just gets disconnected and fall to the ground
This is just to make minecraft datapacks, resourcepacks, mods, worlds, ect easier to depict in a webcomic form

Disabling Specific Minecraft Mobs (in Java)
There was a great post about disabling spiders in Minecraft a few days ago and in the notes people kept asking about disabling other mobs too, so I thought I’d make my own post summing up at least some of the resources, starting with the easy ones:
Phantoms:
You can do this with a vanilla command! All you need to do is to enable cheats when you create your world and then run this:
/gamerule doInsomnia false
insomnia is the effect that triggers phantom spawns when you don’t sleep.
Warden:
Same as phantoms! You can use a command!
/gamerule doWardenSpawning false
Other Mobs:
Someone suggested the Bad Mobs mod at CurseForge. I haven’t tried this myself but it looks legit?
If you don’t want to use a mod, there’s the datapack option, and I’m gonna put a cut here because I’m just gonna teach you how to make the datapack yourself based on your own needs. (I promise you, this method is super easy, and you’ll feel so fancy after making your own datapack)
(Some already exist btw, try searching on Planet Minecraft first)
I’ll also include some extra tips at the end that you might wanna check out either way, even if you don’t want to use a datapack.
[Disclaimer: I’m not an expert, I might get things wrong. I have successfully made all these things that I’m describing here, though, so I hope I know enough.]
@chu-likes-minecraft made a handy no spiders datapack which can easily be edited to apply to other mobs. The datapack is on Planet Minecraft (I would link to it but sometimes posts with links don’t show up in tags. It’s very easy to find, though, just search for “no spiders” and you should find a datapack from a user called Chu03.)
Tumblr media
You can just download the datapack, unpack it, then go down the folders like so: data > ns > functions and open the file named “tick“.
Tumblr media
It should look like this:
Tumblr media
Look up the ID of the mob(s) that you want to get rid of. You can find this info on the Minecraft wiki. Usually it’s pretty obvious but it doesn’t hurt to check.
If it’s just a single specific type of mob that has no other variants, you can delete all the code in the file and replace it with this:
execute as @a at @s if entity @e[type=MOB_ID_HERE,distance=0..50] run tp @e[type=MOB_ID_HERE] 0 -65 0
Replace “MOB_ID_HERE” with the ID of the mob you want to remove! Bolding is just for emphasis obviously. Note that I changed “tag“ to “type“.
(The reason why this is so much simpler is because you don’t need a tag when you’re only targetting one type of mob, you can just target it directly. But if you want to target multiple mobs, using a tag is more efficient)
If there are multiple variants of the mob you don’t like or if you want to target multiple kinds of mobs, you can use Chu’s original spider code as is and just replace the spider and cave spider with your mobs, and come up with a new collective tag for those mobs. Let’s say you wanna get rid of endermites and silverfish because you don’t like creepy crawlies; this should work:
tag @e[type=endermite] add creepy_crawlies tag @e[type=silverfish] add creepy_crawlies execute as @a at @s if entity @e[tag=creepy_crawlies,distance=0..50] run tp @e[tag=creepy_crawlies] 0 -65 0
Wanna also get rid of bees? Just add bees to the “creepy_crawlies” tag like this:
tag @e[type=endermite] add creepy_crawlies tag @e[type=silverfish] add creepy_crawlies tag @e[type=bee] add creepy_crawlies execute as @a at @s if entity @e[tag=creepy_crawlies,distance=0..50] run tp @e[tag=creepy_crawlies] 0 -65 0
I’m pretty sure you can use any wording that isn’t an already existing tag in Minecraft? (Although sometimes you might actually want to just use the existing tag instead, just make sure you know what it includes.)
Once you’re ready, just save the file. You don’t have to worry about any of the other files in the pack, just leave them the way they are. Go back up the folders until you get to the level that has the “data“ folder and the “pack“ file and then just repack the pack into a .zip and give it a new name. Make sure you’re packing the “data“ folder and the “pack“ file, not a folder above them. If you unpacked the original datapack into a folder, don’t include that folder in your pack.
Image to clarify:
Tumblr media
(You don’t have to use 7-Zip, any equivalent program is fine. #NotSponsored)
Your datapack is now ready. I recommend testing it in a test world first to make sure it works. You can just give yourself the spawn egg in creative and try spawning the mobs and if the pack is working they should immediately disappear as you spawn them in.
If they don’t, try the command /reload. If it still doesn’t work, save and quit to title, then open the world again. If it still doesn’t work, check the pack itself to see if you did everything correctly. Compare to the original no spiders pack to see if you accidentally did something differently.
BONUS: you can also edit the “pack“ file to include your own name in the credits along with Chu’s, but this is not necessary.
Other packs that have already been made and can be found on Planet Minecraft: no zombies, no drowned, no skeletons, no wither skeletons.
Also yes, I did actually make the no endermites/silverfish one because I had to double check that the code I pasted here actually worked so I uploaded that on Planet Minecraft too.
Some extra tips:
If you remove spiders, I recommend adding a custom crafting datapack that allows you to turn wool into string. You can download one from Vanilla Tweaks for example. vanillatweaks (dot) net -> crafting tweaks.
There are also websites that allow you to make your own custom crafting datapacks. One that I’ve used and that is up to date as of version 1.18 is thedestruc7i0n (dot) ca (choose the “crafting” button)
With custom crafting packs you can add your own preferred way to get the resources that you’re missing out on. (This is also handy for people who just don’t want to murder a specific kind of mob, like if you really love cows and don’t wanna kill them you can make a custom recipe for leather. Although in that specific case, Vanilla Tweaks already has a datapack for smelting rotten flesh into leather which I recommend.)
Vanilla Tweaks also has a custom villager pack under “datapacks“ which allows you to spawn in a custom villager to trade with, who you can have selling the items you need.
Another option is to edit loot tables to get that drop in some other way. A tool I’ve used for this before is at amaury (dot) carrade (dot) eu / minecraft / loot_tables (this one is a bit complicated but it’s useful! Just take your time figuring it out.)

Intro Post
What to do...
About Me
Howdy! The name's Perseverant Determination. Feel free to call me anything, as long as I can tell that it refers to me.
I'm a hobbyist programmer with experience in C#, Java, C/C++, etc. I aim to be a game developer, though software development seems just fine right now.
Projects
Right now, I'm running a small ongoing project where I create various timelapses of r/place 2022. I also create datapacks for the Origins Minecraft mod, though that ship is currently docked at the moment.
Other than those, I have multiple personal projects that I probably won't share. You can ask for them, and I'll happily tell you about them. But I won't be posting them to this blog.
What to Expect
Not much. I'm more of a lurker, so I don't really post that much. If I do, though, it probably won't be anything that big. Just some ramblings about some project I'm making.

hi i'm gonna try keep this part brief
i have a (latest version, currently 1.20.4) minecraft server:
✨ rav3nston3.apexmc.co ✨
it's just a silly little map made to be a big playground since i can't really hang out with anyone irl (i tend to call it my "tag map" because there's a datapack that lets you play tag! but there's lots of other stuff too) and i wanted to finally kinda release this! i'll be streaming on my twitch from it (mostly building but i could do some tagging/showing folks around if anyone shows up) around when this post goes up so come check it out maybe! (also there's some, Things on it- everyone makes dicks in minecraft don't judge me- so if that would make you uncomfortable then sorry! i guess!)
i'll try to update this post with some information regarding the map under the read more in the future, leaving it pretty short at first so i can post it Now, if you're seeing a reblog it might not be up to date and you should click through to this original post!!!
down here is where the information Will go, for now i’ll just say that it’s not particularly beginner friendly? the spawn area has quite a bit of reading and it’s easy to accidentally breeze through it and not actually see any of the important stuff… also some Very important things are left out like talking about the Random Events or how most of the animals have fun and funky behavior… i’ll try address this soon!
edited March 8th, sorry for the wall of text
the base mechanics of the map include, tag, radars, random events, a "sprint meter", randomly spawning item boxes/animals, custom advancements, shops, and more i'm probably forgetting at the moment!
Tag: there's 1 "It" player and everyone else is "not it", y'know like tag, when not it players are tagged their spawnpoint is set to that location, there's also a slight grace period where tagging someone back is less beneficial, and some events are effected by being it or not, as well as a few "doors" being open depending on your it status
Radars: all players get a "radar" of some type that points to the nearest/all/??? not it players (depending on the radar type, this is explained more on the actual map), when you've recently tagged someone the grace period stops you from being tracked by the new it player for a bit
Random Events: currently there are 12 randomly occurring events, they can happen every 90 seconds, they range from a "group hug" event that teleports every not it player to one not it player at random, to everyone getting levitated into the sky, to a server wide game of rock paper scissors, and more!
Sprint Meter: when sprinting there will be a meter that fills up above your hotbar, your speed will gradually increase (in steps) until the bar fills, the bar will go back down twice as fast as long as you're not sprinting (or sneaking), and sneaking at the highest few levels of the meter will grant you jump boost!
Random Spawns: item boxes and animals (chickens and sheep) will randomly spawn around the map. the item boxes can be "opened" (they're shulkers, so you kill them) for various drops, they come in various types that are area dependent each with different loot tables! the animals have unique effects (with some very minor exceptions), all chickens will instantly die upon getting close to them (unless they're babies, or "The Chucken"), and all sheep spawn with a land mine on their backs (unless it exploded and they somehow survive, steer clear of sheep or try to activate them from a safe distance)
Custom Advancements: there's advancements for dying to various sources, looking at various things through a spyglass, and other (hopefully) fun activities, you can even reset your advancement progress at a special location for some extra loot
Shops: there's currently 5 shops on the map, one that sells chicken, one that sells explosives, one that trades eggs and chicken for gold, a secret weather charm shop, and a prize counter at the carnival. 4 of the 5 work by putting your currency on the counter (each shop might take different currency depending on what they sell/trade) and clicking the items you want to buy, the 5th works like a villager (shhhhhhh)
Some other things to note: there's a custom resource pack on the server, it's mostly there for custom hats but there's some other stuff too! if you're interested in playing, feel free to send me an ask! i'd be happy to show anyone around :3

I like that with the new attribute changes in Minecraft it's gonna be possible to create origins thru datapacks
Heck, even thru just commands
You can just go to your vanilla single-player world and make yourself your own origin, it's amazing
Other than that, WIND CHARGES!!! They're amazing! I can't wait for all the mini games people can come up with using these :D it's cool when Mojang adds silly little items like this that actually affect the gameplay. Feels like they're adding so much less fun stuff cuz they're really focused on it making sense within the rest of the game. Which is fair. They also need everything to be really polished and be finished in time for the release. Which is why updates feel fairly small sometimes.
Hopefully more things are touched on and updated soon... With the new vault block, i really think they should address loot in other structures too... For now still just use Lootr on modded servers.

Welcome to the Caldera! Lost souls are often gather here...
Tumblr media
HELLO EVERYBODY!!!
Looking for a brand spankin' new Minecraft Origins server to join? Try the Caldera SMP!
~✧~
We are (at time of writing) a newly created, 18+, LGBTQ and plural-supportive, semi-anarchic, modded Minecraft roleplay server! Running on Java 1.20.1 with Fabric, we have several cool mods which try to change the vanilla game while attempting to generally preserve its basic balance. The goal of the server is to facilitate organic storytelling - gameplay that enhances the roleplay, and roleplay that gives meaning to the gameplay!
Of mention is that we are doing custom origins! That's right - If you come on in you can pick any origin you want to play, either from the base mod, from a pre-existing Origin mod, or, of course, a custom-made datapack origin designed by yourself with the collaboration of Kapre, the server owner.
~✧~
Semi-anarchic; if things get too bad we can talk about it. But aside from that; killing, destroying, building, or doing whatever you want to whoever you want is completely allowed - if you're willing to face the consequences for your own actions!
Mods like Create, BetterCombat, Farmer's Delight and others that extend the vanilla experience without skewing the balance out too hard (hopefully)!
A completely open roleplay environment! Be some of the first people to make an impact on the world, and collaborate on an overarching, organic storyline!
Your own personal origin(s), offered absolutely for free! This can be as simple as a reworked version of a base mod origin or as complicated as one entirely of your own design!
A Discord server where you can hopefully meet some new friends...?!?!
~✧~
An old and hollow world stretches out in all directions; wild, primal. Ancient and untamed, like the seas and the storms. Hidden in a volcanic basin, a lonely witch burns away the veil between dimensions, and turns a caldera into a cradle - for the birth of a new era. Ghosts of other worlds slip past the place between the Nether and the Overworld, and are reborn anew into strange and colorful forms.
The Flame of Resurrection burns! Will you be reached by it first? And if you do, what will you do with this unshaped world? Will you make it a paradise, preserve its untouched nature, or shake its very foundations? Will you build or destroy; forge friendships or burn bridges? Whatever the case, this truth is burned into the veins of the world - in this place, there is fire.
~✧~
Interested? Fill out this handy dandy form and wait for a DM from dreamscapegoat on Discord!
We're only accepting six new applicants right now, so get in while you can! 2/6:

It’s time everyone! I’ve finished troubleshooting!!
MY ROLEPLAY ORIGINCRAFT SERVER
~~~~
I’m running a Minecraft server using a custom modpack! This modpack is a Forge 1.18.2 server. It includes:
Taterzens NPCs, Origins, Anthro Origins, Twigs, Adorn, Backpacked, BOP and BYG, Wind Chimes, Comforts, Croptopia, Curios, Gems+Jewels, Macaw’s Mods, More Axolotl Variants, Quark, Supplementaries, Xaero’s Minimap and Zetter Painting Mod. (And a couple more prerequisites)
KeepInventory is on, mobgriefing is off.
I hope for it to be a super accepting friendly server where we can build some cute houses together and just have fun! Chill vibes, cottagecore aesthetic, fun origin themed builds… all of that! I also will be adding datapacks all the time, I hope to be able to make custom skins for people, so you can roleplay as your origin as best as possible! All you have to do is request <3
Here is a link to download the Curseforge modpack! Just message me with a small introduction of yourself (so I know you’re not a troller etc.), then download it, install it and I will send you the join address :)
https://www.mediafire.com/file/9v9i47ko5l8b9f3/Origincraft_1.18.zip/file
Can’t wait to see you there!!
Edit:
Please see this link as well!
alright okay here we go! sanguine’s thoughts about hosting an smp again... in a proper post!
the feedback on the last post has been p fascinating and honestly very... er. enabling. i’ve been rotating ideas for elaborating on the theme of empires and literal world-building even more than before now. it’s also relieving to know there are other people like me looking for something new and interesting socially to sink their teeth into and that there is overall a general willingness to try it out!
i rehashed some basic q/a stuff in the reblogs of my original post, but here’s some of that again (n some new stuff!) for convenience and clarity!
the server will likely be at least 16+!
java edition of minecraft, probably 1.19?
primarily vanilla, probs w/ datapacks and other additives for quality of life reasons and for fun!
roleplay would be mostly low-stakes at a server-wide scale and those who wanted to get more involved can do so to their comfort level! flexibility here is key.
recording and streaming are totally a-okay w/ me!***
*** content creation should done with the understanding that some people, myself included, will mostly be playing for fun. i will not be taking myself too seriously, personally!
my ONLY caveat to setting this up is gonna be that i wanna get to know the playerbase better this time before launching into things. i want us all to be on as close to equal footing as we can get when things start off + have the opportunity to iron out any issues before they affect server-side stuff.
so! if you’re still interested, let me know, because i’ll likely be setting up a small discord soon for further discussion and the icebreaking mentioned above!
The Good, the Bad, and the Rowdy: D&D Origins Version 1.1.0
This update features several major additions and changes, most notably:
Added the Aasimar race (the good).
Added Tiefling sub-races (the bad).
Added the Kobold race (the rowdy).
Added the Artificer class.
Created a "single-player" version.
Check the version release notes on GitHub for more information: [Main] [Single-Player]
What does "Single-Player" mean in this context?
Good question! The only content of the pack affected in this version is the Artificer and the Wizard; in the main version of the pack, the Infusions you can learn as an Artificer are divided up into different specializations, and the spells you can learn as a Wizard are divided up and made exclusive to various schools of magic, limiting the total number of infusions/enchantments you can learn to encourage diversity within any given server, and to keep any one player from becoming too overpowered. In the single-player version of the pack, this specialization/school division does not exist, and any one Artificer can learn any and all Infusions, while any one Wizard can learn any and all enchantments! While this change is intended to enchance the single-player Artificer/Wizard experience, this doesn't mean this version of the pack must be exclusively used in single-player servers; it's just up to the server admins and their priorities for their players.
hey there I don't know if this is out of pocket or anything, but since you've been posting about Minecraft I thought I'd warn you about this .jar infection that's been going around on a lot of popular modding tools like cursedforge - here's some more information about it https://github.com/fractureiser-investigation/fractureiser
just be careful out there :')
hey! no worries, i appreciate it!
i learned about this around when it was first announced, but thankfully 1) i'm using a datapack, not a mod and 2) i downloaded it directly from the creator's website rather than a platform like that (which is actually lucky bc originally i heard of the mod/datapack via modrinth but bc i couldn't find it on there i just looked around until i found the og website lol)
i'll still publish this ask in case it'd be useful for someone else tho!! 🙏 seconding that last statement, be careful out there!!!
