There was a knock on her door "My lady a gift from Prince Aemond has arrived for you" the gurad said. Maris sighed, putting her brush down on her table as she got up to retrieve the gift she couldn't help but think 'of course she should have expected the gift to come soon, he truly doesn't waste any time with sending her gift does he?'. The voices outside her door snapped her out of her thoughts. As she opened the door she saw her father standing there beside the gurad looking at the gift in his hand excitedly.
"Father please clam down" she clamly said while rolling her eyes at his antics. Truly you would think the gift came for you with how excited he was acting.
"Dear daughter of mine I'm merely just excited for you! You must open the gift immediately it is from the prince after all". He replied excitedly.
She answered with a little sort while taking the gift from the gurad. She wondered what her prince sent her this time, last it was a mans head maybe this time its the mans eyes she thought to herself but couldn't help but get amused at the mere mention of eyes from her prince, the mere word had so much of their hostory behind it. After all it were the eyes of Lucerys Velaryon that got them betrothed.
"Oh! Don't forget to tell me what he sent you and what he wrote to you!"
"Don't worry father I will". Her words seemed to please her father as he walked away from her room with the guard likely telling him to get the musicians so they could write another song about her prince and her.
She closed the door behind her went went straight to her bed to open her latest gift. It was box not quite big and was light, definitelynot a heart this time she thought. She couldn't think what her prince would have sent her this time.
She quickly opened the box and paused. How curious she couldn't help but think. She slowly and carefully picked up the white crown out of the box. It was strange and quite like how a normal crown would look like. It was heavy in her hands but seemed to be made of a wood like material. It was beautifully crafted, a white crown with yellow jewels embedded in it. She put it to her side and looked back into the back just like all the other times this gift too came with a letter.
"My dear Maris, I do hope you enjoyed my gift this time it is the gift I spent the most time preparing. It is a crown made of a stags bones. I hunted the stag myself and skinned its skin off. It took me days to clean the bones and craft them into a crown. I even put those yellow jewels you find so beautiful into it. I hope you this gift was to your liking.
I also wished to tell you that I have spoken to my grandsire and there should a letter arriving shortly to stroms end asking your fathers permission to allow you to go to Oldtown. I know how much you wish you learn and my mother side of the family is more than excited to welcome you specially Daeron. I wish to the best and will come to take you to Oldtown my self with my last courting gift.
With love yours truly, Prince Aemond Targaryen"
She couldn't help but chuckle as she put the crown on her head, oh her sweet prince always so thoughtful for her she mused.
She walked to towards the painting in her room and pused against the picture of the apple at the edge of the tree. She heard something and pushed the painting aside. There in the center of the room laid a man cut in pieces carefully preserved to stop the body from rotting away. Who the man was she knew not nor did she care too.
She walked up to the man and looked at his body. There was only one piece left to finally finsihing him, his eyes, the very thing that started their love shall end their courtship. How romantic.
She should start preparing for her soon departure to Oldtown after all she won't be able to come back as soften she thoyght to herself as she skipped out of the secert room humming to herself as the crown on her head shined with the morning lifting reflecting off of the jewels in it.
you did it. you managed to condense all our maris headcanons into one mini-fic. congratulations, anon, they shall write songs of your bravery 👁👁👁

MARY: I understand why you no longer trust me, but trust what you know of him.
FRANCIS: What I know of him? He took advantage of you when you were at your most vulnerable. He knew the horrors that you had endured and saw an opportunity. He stole my wife!
MARY: The affair isn't Conde's fault. It's mine. I turned to him so many times. I turned to him because I couldn't turn to you. Because the thought of coming back to this room again, where those men assaulted me, I... Because the love in your eyes made it feel like I was drowning in those memories, and I couldn't... I couldn't do that, I had to survive. I cannot abandon him because I led him down this path. Conde is still the man you thought he was. He deserves your trust, even if I do not.

Reign finale fun
In honor of Reign’s last episode ever airing tonight in the USA- in Canada (Im not Canadian- I’ll be watching it friday june 16!) it aired first as it ended yesterday! Here are some things I’ll miss about the show and some of my favorite things about it!!!
My favorite.. Character- Queen Catherine de Medici!
Relationship- Francis and Mary!!! ❤ (FRARY FOR LIFE!) (But I Love Lola and Narcisse too)
Episode- Left Behind 1.07 (Runner up Three Queens 2.06)
Character I miss the most- Francis!! (Runner up Bash- his departure was harder, as it was unexpected)
Lady in waiting- Greer~ not just because she lasted the longest- but I liked her storyline with Leith
Character I grew to love- Lord Stefane Narcisse, Lord Chancellor of France- he’s cool- and Craig Parker is awesome! ;)
Now What went wrong… -Season 2 rape plotline and the whole Conde mess -the waste of Francis and Bash’s brotherhood- not enough scenes together -The demotion of Bash in season 2 to a supporting character- and to have Conde replace him in that role?? -The potrayal of Queen Elizabeth- shes a fave of mine historically- I didnt like the way she was written -The network’s treatment of the show -Uncertian-ness about Gideon- was him loving Elizabeth real? A ploy? She had feelings for him no doubt- but what happened to his arc in general?? -Laurie McCarthy was the showrunner
Other thoughts -I really held out for a Greer/Leith reunion -I’ll always love them though! -I miss Alan Van Sprang too!!! -I was shocked Torrance Coombs didnt make an appearence in S4- I guess still star crossed didnt finish shooting in time- missed oppertunity
Overall this show introduced me to Toby Regbo!!! And made me love Megan Follows!!!

The EU needs a stability and wellbeing pact, not more growth
238 academics from around the world call on the European Union and its member states to plan for a post-growth future in which human and ecological wellbeing is prioritised over GDP
This week, scientists, politicians, and policymakers are gathering in Brussels for a landmark conference. The aim of this event, organised by members of the European parliament from five different political groups, alongside trade unions and NGOs, is to explore possibilities for a “post-growth economy” in Europe.
For the past seven decades, GDP growth has stood as the primary economic objective of European nations. But as our economies have grown, so has our negative impact on the environment. We are now exceeding the safe operating space for humanity on this planet, and there is no sign that economic activity is being decoupled from resource use or pollution at anything like the scale required. Today, solving social problems within European nations does not require more growth. It requires a fairer distribution of the income and wealth that we already have.

Carrión to Terradillos
Carrión de Los Condes is a beautiful town and I knew there was 17km before the next village but this gravel path is just a slightly undulating straight line , the scenery is beautiful but flat. It was four hours of monotony then dark clouds and the wind picked up . It started to rain gently and I had 45mins to my final destination. I thought I’d carry on despite the warm welcoming bar beside me . If I stopped I may not want to get started again. The rain hit like spiteful pellets , all those days of heat wishing for a little rain and here it was stinging , cold , heavy and wet. I trudged, head down trying not to slip , poles tucked away as exposed hands were turning icy cold. I stubbornly avoided the first albergue and walked further into town rewarded by a warm homely welcome. A single bed in a room of only four. The rain gradually cleared but the mind numbing walk , the cold and wet , halfway point on the Camino all contributed to a huge feeling of loneliness and being homesick. It’s two days to León , I can get a bus to Madrid and fly home. What’s the point of walking ? Am I supposed to be here ? I prayed for answers. I got to my room and two men had beds there. I tried to find wifi and there wasn’t any . What else !? I tearfully asked myself . A Spanish man smiled and stared talking to me in good English he was a cyclist and didn’t know anyone. After a while I went to my bed and he followed sitting on his bed opposite mine , I felt relieved he seemed nice. It was soon dinner time so we decided to go together, as we sat down Marie asked if she could join us as her boyfriend was on a village ahead and she was alone. What a good evening , we all talked and laughed , Sebastian bought a bottle of wine from his region Navarra and after the meal a liquor ‘pacharán’ . We all needed companionship and support that evening and we could not have asked for more.

Lady Elizabeth retreated into her bedchamber. Inside the confinement of her room, she picked up the ornate mirror. The reflection of a woman with diversely different facial features appeared as she looked into her own silhouette. Elizabeth began to chant some incomprehensible words. The mirror turned foggy before a hazy image of a man appeared.
"Agathe," the man from the mirror greeted. Which immediately followed by a scrutinizing physical analysis. "You look good on that couture gown, although it's a little risqué for the formal atmosphere - showing a little too much skin at the chest," he pointed out.
"I'd appreciate your exquisite fashion taste, but I'm afraid I had to ignore your tasteful critique tonight," Agathe said.
The man grinned before moving to the main topics. "So, how's your... mission?"
"I've warned him," Agathe replied. "Now let see whether he will do anything to rectify his mistake. I think I've struck a nerve. He looked terrified with the prospect of exile."
"After hearing your stories for years - I bet that hubristic prince wouldn't simply repent," the man in the mirror stated his opinion. "It's too much out of his character."
"Clement, we have to give him a chance before punishing him," Agathe reasoned.
"You should call me Tyrone. Someone could've eavesdropped on you," objected the man in the mirror.
Agathe chuckled softly and put on a mock affectionate voice. "Right, my dear, Tyrone. I think anyone will freak out if they knew I am talking to my husband in a mirror."
"Just call it the perks of being a mystical being," Clement quipped. "I have a feeling that I am far from done playing husband and pretended to be Adam's nonexistent cousin," he laughed. "Not that I didn't enjoy to be your pretend husband because you are quite a good wife."
"Thank you, my dear," Agathe said in feigned sweetness. "Isn't it ironic you are now impersonating the Prince you'd cursed years ago?"
The man in the mirror guffawed at that. "Thankfully he is quite pleasant looking. I could just about bear to live the legacy of his foolhardy behavior. But I have a bad feeling that the handsome Adam of Conde wouldn't do much better than mine."
"I will give him some time to repent from his self-centered behavior and make amends," she revealed. "I've promised his mother, Marie, that I wouldn't let him turn like his father."
"Right," replied the man, sounding satisfied with her answer. "Hope you have better luck than I am."
"I'll try," Agathe smiled before excusing herself and chanting another mantra. Subsequently, the reflection of the man dissipated into the depth of the mirror.
