Dabi: Hey idiot - that's my shirt you stole!
Hawks: *Looks down at the black t-shirt he's wearing that reads "Sexy Fireman"*
Hawks: Huh. Yeah, that's yours alright. If you want it back, you'll have to take it off me. *Gives Dabi the biggest shit eating grin*
Dabi: *Smirks* I'll accept that challenge.
Shoto: CAN WE JUST HAVE ONE NORMAL FAMILY DINNER WITHOUT YOU TWO TRYING TO BONE EACHOTHER!?

Feather Ticklish (My Hero Academia)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Warning: Tickle fic ahead!
Characters: League of Villains (Shigaraki, Dabi, Twice, Hawks)
Shipping: Technically DabiHawks but they're not together yet
Lee: Dabi
Ler: Hawks
Word Count: 2,683
Summary: During a meeting at the LoV hideout, Hawks notices Dabi looking more down and apathetic than usual. He tries to make him feel better, but when words don't work, he realizes he may need to take another approach.
--------------------------------
It had been quite a slow day. The League of Villains had rather frequent meetings as of late, especially due to the pesky heroes getting on their case now more than ever. They usually consisted of what their goals were to be after they succeeded, an entire alphabet of alternative plans, and what to do in the worst case scenario - that being the heroes finding their hideout, a traitor in the League, or one of the League members dying.
The current meeting was regarding their newest recruitment, and how he was going to be of service to them. Shigaraki had a way of talking that made the meetings simultaneously entertaining, yet hard to bear. He was very passionate when he spoke, but his voice was shallow and raspy. Hearing it in large quantities didn’t help Dabi’s headache, especially when he had a tendency to ramble and go off topic.
The hot-headed villain rested his head against the big table they were all seated at, the cold surface stinging his skin in a refreshing way. Slowly, everything started to sound as if he were underwater, and he tuned out his cohorts’ voices. With a gentle sigh, Dabi closed his eyes and listened to nothing while he waited for his headache to subside.
Bzzzt-!
He jolted at the sudden vibration against his leg. With a low grumble, he fished his phone out of his pocket and glowered at the notification.
Bird Brain: hey, u look down. u ok?
Dabi furrowed his brow, then looked up at Hawks. He was sitting directly across from him.
Hot Stuff: Why are you texting me? You’re right in front of me.
Bird Brain: we’re in a meeting. i cant just talk over ppl
Oh, he supposed that made sense. Dabi rolled his eyes and responded.
Hot Stuff: Well I’m fine. Now leave me alone.
Dabi huffed as he placed his phone on the table, screen side down. He tuned back into the meeting - what was going on? … Ah, Shigaraki moved onto a different topic.
Twice raised his hand, “I know we’ve talked about the heroes finding our hideout, but what’s gonna happen if they do? I’m not worried, they’ll never find us!”
“Even if they did find us, Twice, they would stand no chance against us.”
Shigaraki put two fingers to his chin for a moment, then smiled weakly at his friend,
“Think of it all like a video game. We’re an army defending an entire tower, and another army is coming after us with their own arsenal of weapons. We have to defend as much as we can and, in the meantime, we’re only getting stronger.”
He smirked and raised his arms out on either side of him, taking a confident, triumphant stance,
“We learn the opposing army’s strengths and weaknesses, as well, and that only further solidifies our victory!”
“We shouldn’t be too lax about it, though,” Hawks chimed in calmly.
He grinned at Shigaraki and leaned back in his chair, resting his hands behind his head,
“The heroes may not know about the hideout now, but we shouldn’t rule it out as a possibility.”
“Of course, which is why this is our course of action.”
Dabi huffed and rested his chin in his hand, absentmindedly watching the meeting go on without really listening to anything being said anymore. None of it really concerned him. He knew what he was going to do if the heroes infiltrated. He was going to kill them, every last one. He watched as Shigaraki took the floor once again, rambling on about yet another plan.
Bzzzt-!
What did Hawks want now?
Bird Brain: u sure ur good? u look tired
Dabi glared at his phone as he irritably typed back a response.
Hot Stuff: I’m tired of you texting me, leave me alone.
Bird Brain: why’d u give me ur number then?
The hot-headed villain growled and placed his phone back down, a little harder than he meant to. He rested his head in his hands and breathed in slowly, trying to calm himself down. Admittedly, he wasn’t sure why he was so angry. He just felt very tired and wanted to be left alone.
Suddenly, his body involuntarily twitched and jerked as he felt something soft rub up against his side. He furrowed his brow and swatted at it, thinking it was just a bug or something. When the soft flicking persisted, however, his chest tightened and he clenched his fists in an attempt to keep the overwhelming desire to react at bay.
What was going on?!
Dabi’s breath hitched as he felt a second offender flick against his lower tummy, and it was getting increasingly more difficult to keep himself calm.
Bzzzt-!
Not now, Hawks!
He opened his phone and his stomach lurched at the text.
Bird Brain: somethin the matter~?
Dabi looked up at Hawks, who had the biggest shit eating grin on his face. No one else seemed to notice how he was acting, so this had to be his doing. Then, it all clicked. He shakily grabbed at the soft objects that kept sending tingles up his spine and, when he grabbed one, pulled it out of his shirt.
A red feather.
If looks could kill, Hawks would have been turned to ash. The number two hero bit back a howl of laughter. He gleefully savored Dabi’s reaction, so much so that he sent even more of his feathers to attack the annoyed man.
“Grrk-!”
Dabi gasped and desperately clutched his seat when he felt feathers on every healthy part of his torso. Most of his body was scarred, but the parts of his skin that weren’t were extremely sensitive. He was having trouble keeping it together, and Hawks’ odd form of entertainment had only just begun.
Bzzzt-!
Bird Brain: u havin muscle spasms or somethin?
You asshole, you know exactly what’s going on!
He couldn’t even focus enough to grab his phone and type back a retort. He was going to kill Hawks for this.
Bird Brain: im actually concerned and u ignore me? some friend u are
We are NOT friends, you dick!
The soft tickling of the feathers was only getting worse. Some of them flicked back and forth very fast, while others slowly dragged up and down the sensitive skin. The duality drove Dabi insane, and his knuckles were turning white from how tight his grip on the chair was.
“Hey, Dabi. You okay?”
Twice whispered, placing a concerned hand on his friend’s shoulder.
Dabi jumped and swatted his hand away,
“I-I’m fine, Twice, fuck off.”
“Jeez, sorry, dude,”
Twice raised his hands in apologetic panic, then warily turned his attention back to the meeting.
The hot head quietly groaned, sweat trickling down his forehead. Laughter bubbled up in his throat like acid reflux. He squeezed his eyes shut and desperately tried to focus on something else.
Bzzzt-!
Bird Brain: careful not to laugh~. dont wanna draw attention to urself
So he’s outright admitting it now? The smugness of that asshole.
Bird Brain: where else are u ticklish?
Dabi shot a glare at Hawks, though it wasn’t as intimidating as he hoped it would be with his quivering lips and flushed cheeks. Like he would tell him where he was ticklish. He wasn’t even sure himself. The last time he was tickled was when he was a kid, he thought he had grown out of it. The opposite seemed to have happened. In fact, he didn’t remember being this sensitive.
Bird Brain: thats ok. i’ll find out for myself~
Like hell you will!
“What?”
Shit, had he said that out loud?
He turned to Shigaraki, who was staring at him with a suspicious gleam in his eye. Dabi gulped nervously and shook his head.
“N-Nothing, sorr-eeEEHEHEE!”
He slapped his hands over his mouth and gaped at his cohorts in horror. One of the damn feathers had dipped directly into his belly button. He chanced a glance at Hawks, who was looking as confused as everyone else.
That damn snake!
“Are you sure you’re okay, Dabi?” Twice asked again, looking more amused than concerned at this point,
“You’re being ridiculous!”
Dabi quickly stood, nervously quivering as he stumbled out of the room without a word. The villains looked amongst each other, all wearing confused expressions, when Hawks stood and politely pushed in his chair.
“I’m gonna go see if he’s alright.”
Dabi stood just outside of the hideout, leaning against a wall and greedily gasping for air as he tried to calm down. Luckily, Hawks had shown an ounce of mercy when he exited the building, and his feathers were no longer assaulting his ticklish torso. Phantom tingling lingered on his belly and sides, and he rubbed at the areas desperately.
“What an asshole,” he muttered to himself after he finally regained some composure,
“I’m gonna kill him.”
“Why’s that?”
Dabi whipped around to see Hawks exiting the building, a playful smirk on his face. He sauntered over to the hot-headed villain, who grumbled and stepped backward.
“Get the fuck away from me, Hawks.”
“What’s wrong?” The number two hero laughed,
“I just came to check on ya.”
“Like hell you did!”
Dabi heatedly pointed at the door leading into the hideout,
“What the hell was all that?!”
“All what?”
“Don’t play dumb with me, birdie,” Dabi hissed.
He glared intensely at the winged hero as his right hand was engulfed in blue fire.
“Whoa, whoa,” Hawks chuckled nervously, hands up in an attempt to defuse the situation,
“Calm down, man. I just wanted to see you smile.”
The response was so shocking that the villain lost concentration, and his fire was extinguished. He gawked at Hawks, unsure of how to reply. He wanted to see him smile?
“What?”
“‘What’ what?”
Dabi sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose between his thumb and forefinger,
“You’re a dumbass.”
“Well that’s not very nice~.”
By the time he recognized the teasing tone in Hawks’ voice, it was too late, and he was trapped. Hawks hugged Dabi up against his chest, hooking his arms in between his own and forcing them high above his head. The hot head yelped and thrashed to get out of his hold, but crumbled as soon as Hawks’ giant wings beat against his torso.
“FUHUHUHUHUHUHUCK!!”
Dabi tried doubling over, but the hero had him held tight. He kicked his legs and attempted to curl up, but nothing was stopping the overwhelming ticklish sensation. The incessant flapping of his wings caused the villain’s shirt to rise up, so none of his upper body was protected. Not only that, but the feathers were so fluffy and stiff. They were both insanely soft and dangerously accurate.
“STOHOHOHOP, AHAHAHAHASSHOLE!”
“Wow, you’re really ticklish, huh?” Hawks chuckled.
“I WILL ROHOHOHOHOAST YOHOHOHOU, BIHIHIHIRD BRAHAHAIN!”
“You’re not in the position to be making any threats, hot stuff. Tickle tickle tickle~!”
Hawks smiled at the ticklish mess he was making of the villain. To put it simply, he looked adorable. His hair was a mess as he thrashed and writhed, a giant smile split his face in two, the healthy skin on his cheeks was flushed a bright red, and his overall demeanor was entirely different from how he usually was. To see Dabi, of all people, completely incapacitated due to a little tickling was hilarious. More than that, however, it was humanizing. It gave him a glimmer of hope that these villains could have some level of empathy in them, too.
Hawks grinned deviously as three feathers detached from his wings, and flew to Dabi’s belly. He had to admit, what he made them do was quite cruel, but his laughter was addicting.
“I remember getting quite a reaction from aroooound… here~?”
Two of the feathers slowly circled Dabi’s belly button, while the third dipped directly in and twirled inside of it unfairly fast. The scream that escaped him was inhuman. Hawks’ wings gliding effortlessly across every inch of the villain’s torso, combined with the feathers honing in on his belly button, was enough to send him over the edge. His knees buckled and he would have fallen to the ground had Hawks not been holding onto him. Shrieking laughter quickly turned into silent hysterics as Dabi threw his head back against Hawks and practically fell limp in his arms. The hero’s face flushed slightly, and he couldn’t help but laugh along with Dabi.
When he finally regained his voice, he shrieked hysterically,
“STOHOHOHOHOP!! FUHUHUHUCK, IHIHIHIHI CAHAHAHAHAN’T! C-C’MOHOHOHON, CUHUHUHUT IHIHIHIT OHOHOHOUT!!”
“Sorry, what was that? I can’t understand you when you’re laughing like that~.”
“FUHUHUHUHUCK YOHOHOHOHOU!!”
“Maybe I’ll stop if you ask me nicely.”
“FIHIHIHINE!! FINEFINEFINE PLEHEHEHEASE STOHOHOHOP, HAHAHAHAPPY?!!”
Suddenly, it all stopped. Hawks released his hold on Dabi, and he came crashing into the hero. He eagerly sucked oxygen into his lungs, coughing a little as he did so. His breathing was labored and wheezy. Hawks noted the scent of smoke. He smiled at the villain as he rested against his chest, trying to regain his composure.
After a few moments, Dabi’s breathing slowed, and he felt his heart rate return to normal. He looked up at Hawks, who had a hand atop his head, petting his hair. His face contorted into one of confusion, then anger, and finally mild embarrassment. He shoved off of Hawks with a grunt and dusted off his clothes. Hawks chuckled and followed suit.
“You okay?” He had the audacity of asking after a moment of silence.
The glare that Dabi shot him sent him into his own laughing fit.
“Lohohook!”
He cackled as he wiped mirth from his eye,
“I said I just wanted to see you smile! You can’t be mad at me for that.”
“On the contrary,” Dabi growled,
“I’m furious.”
“You looked adorable~.”
Dabi’s breath hitched and his face went red all over again. He told himself it was only due to the residual tingling on his skin.
“Do that again and I’ll kill you.”
“What, ya don’t like being tickled?”
“Was me screaming for you to stop not an indication?”
“I dunno, man, some people actually do like it.”
“Yeah, well those people are psychotic.”
“Says the mass murderer.”
Dabi stared at Hawks, not really sure how to respond to that. He simply furrowed his brow and rolled his eyes,
“Why was seeing me smile such a big deal anyway, birdbrain?”
“Well, like I said, you looked down. ‘sides, I never see you smile aside from an occasional smirk here and there,”
Hawks shrugged and stuffed his hands in his jacket pockets, feeling bashful all of a sudden,
“Watching you laugh like that, without a care in the world, it was cute. You looked happy.”
Happy?
Dabi’s glare returned, but only for a short moment. Finally, he sighed and moved to head back inside of the hideout.
“Whatever, hope you had fun. Cuz you’re never doing that again. Oh, and one more thing.”
Hawks moved to follow him, but stopped when he turned around to address him a final time.
“Watch your back, birdie.”
With that, he walked inside without another word. A shiver ran up Hawks’ spine. What did he mean by that? Deciding not to think much of it, the number two hero simply followed Dabi back inside and reclaimed his seat at the table.
Everyone was still there, waiting, and Shigaraki scoffed when they finally returned.
“About time. Can I continue now?”
“Sorry about that,”
Dabi replied calmly,
“Go ahead.”
As Shigaraki started his explanation from where he left off, the hot-headed villain glanced at Hawks. A feeling of triumph washed over him as he examined the hero’s face. He looked calm on the outside, but it was clear to Dabi that he was quite nervous. A low chuckle escaped Dabi’s lips, causing Hawks to shoot his gaze over to him.
When they caught each other’s eyes, neither of them emoted for a few moments. Then, Dabi made a simple motion of his thumb running across his own throat with an evil smirk on his face.
Hawks gulped. He was doomed.
A/N: I wrote a sequel! You can find it here: Watch Your Back :D

Dabi holding a newborn baby as he limps through the alleyways until he makes it to a large apartment complex and slips in through the back. He manages to go unseen as he makes his way to the top floor and quietly pats his hand against the door. Cooing at the baby quietly so they don’t wake as his vision goes in and out. The door opens just as he takes in a haggard breath and he’s falling.
He doesn’t hit the ground because strong arms catch him and his child and he passes out from exhaustion as Hawks rushes him inside. Terrified at the sight of him in a bloody large nightgown with a swell that hasn’t even begun to go down. He frantically sent feathers to get a first aide kit as he lowered the man in bed and carefully took the sleeping bundle that began to squirm and cry.
White wispy hair, tiny black talons on her fingers, little white wings that twitched and gold eyes that looked up at him so sadly.
All Hawks could think was he finally had an answer for why Dabi never came home that night.
Tips on ko-fi are much appreciated 🥰

DabiHawks headcanons
@cozzzynook asked me on twt about my favourite hcs for them, and I thought I'd share them here too. Thanks again for the question ❤️ If some of you don't know about her deaf!Touya hc, go read this for starters. It's one of the best I've ever read!
SFW
Hawks loves Dabi’s piercings. He’s so entranced by them, captivated by the way light shines on them and reflects on Dabi’s skin.
And speaking about being in love with Dabi’s features, he’s totally enamoured by Dabi’s different skin tones, bird view etc. In his eyes Dabi’s the most gorgeous person he’s ever met and is unable to understand Dabi’s jokes about his appearance.
Hawks sees the sky in Dabi’s eyes, Dabi sees the sunset at golden hour in Hawks’. They could stare in each other’s eyes for hours.
Dabi realizing Hawks is definitely very different from his public persona. He loves that Hawks is so calm but has such a sharp mind; most of all, he’s surprised he actually cares about people. He’s the only true hero he’s ever known.
Dabi not taking any bullshit facade from Hawks and pushing him again and again until Hawks finally understands and breaks from his shakles and riots against the Commission. (Best flavour).
Dabi always brings one of Hawks’ feathers with him. Pre-PLF he used to keep it in his coat’s pockets, but when they lived at the villa he has around his neck as a necklace, like a declaration.
Same for Hawks, who switches his trademark ruby studs with turquoise ones, even outside the villa, when he’s on patrol.
Hawks isn’t ashamed of his bird traits, he’s just not used to indulging in them. Dabi’s shocked when he finds out and absolutely loves them to the moon and back, both when Hawks softly trills and chirps during cuddles, and when they’re in bed.
Hawks getting super protective over Dabi when he's in feral mode or during a fight, shielding him with his wings and snarling at their opponents, while Dabi thinks it's fucking hot.
Hawks helping Dabi touching up his roots without ever asking anything and taking care of his staples and scars; Dabi helps Hawks preen his wings (finds it relaxing too!). Also, he gives a killer back massage with his warm hands.
I just love that their story unfolds in winter, bc Hawks hates the cold and is drawn to Dabi’s warmth. He could doze off just laying with his head in Dabi’s lap, surrounded by his warmth. The best’s at night, when they sleep together and Hawks drapes his wing over Dabi’s body.
Hawks has freckles, your honor. Dabi counts them absentmindedly every time they’re close to each other and Hawks isn’t watching (already asleep, staring at the city on a rooftop etc)
Once they're comfortable enough with each other, they become super cuddly. Also, Hawks’s wings unconsciously and lightly brush against Dabi or almost-wrap around him when they’re close together, even when they’re in public.
Nicknames! Birdie/pretty bird/angel/dove/hot stuff. They barely use each other's names when they’re talking to each other. Hawks can understand Dabi’s mood by which one he uses and how he pronounces it.
Postwar, Hawks visits Touya when he’s recovering at the hospital. Doesn’t dare to hold his hand though. He doesn’t even talk to him, but is unable to stay away from him while his heart clenches. He still feels guilty.
Hawks fully supports Touya’s recovery and therapy but still doesn’t dare to actually address anything until Touya just has enough, pulls him close and kisses him.
NSFW
UNHINGED HAWKS AND DABI HAS THE BONER OF A LIFETIME WHEN HE SEES THE BIRD GO TOTALLY FERAL
Dabi has a feather/wing kink obvs.
They’re each other sex awakening. Literally neither of them had ever thought about sex before meeting each other. After their first hook-up they’re wrecked and can’t get enough. Yes, it evolves from just sex to porn with feelings™
Dabi loves giving head more than receiving it. He knows he’s good but the way Hawks writhes and moans and pulls him close by his hair has his mind swimming and blank. He could come just by blowing Hawks.
Hawks cherishes every part of Dabi. Covers him in kisses and, similar to Dabi’s in the previous hc, loves eating him out.
@electrozookie infected me with “Dabi has a split tongue” brainrot (alternatively his tongue’s pierced) and Hawks fucking loves it.
When Hawks bottoms, their favourite position is the cowgirl: Dabi loves watching Hawks bouncing on him but especially looks at his spread wings, how they quiver in sync with each movement + this way they can both look at each other’s face.
Involuntary (and not) Dabi leaves burn prints on Hawks’ hips and tights and smoke rises from the seams of his scars when he’s near the climax. Hawks finds it insanely hot.

Feather In The Wind (Valentine's Day Special 2024)
The first Valentine’s Day that Dabi spends with the Paranormal Liberation Front is a peaceful one- at least compared to what he’s used to. After a childhood full of pain and trauma- ruined holidays and cold nights spent outside pushing himself to the edge with his individual training while his father ignored him in favor of abusing Shouto- being in his own large, lavish room within the confines of the base is… Interesting, to say the least.
There’s no booming yells reverberating through the walls, no ashes or burn marks on the floor, no slaps echoing through the hallway. His old family is dead and gone to him, instead replaced by Toga who barged into his room with Twice just over an hour ago to share a sushi dinner with him on his bed.
He isn’t sure he considers the members of what was once the League of Villains a family or even a group of friends, but they’re people who share his ideologies, and they love him more than anyone else ever has. So, when they come knocking at his door with dinner to make sure he’s fed, he doesn’t deny them, nor does he rush them out. He figures there’s no better way to spend the day of love than with the few people who truly love him. That’s why it’s nearly past two in the morning by the time they finally fuck off and leave Dabi with the takeout container trash and a soy sauce stain on his wrinkled bedsheets.
It’s a quiet night, so Dabi finds himself going out to the balcony with a cigarette in hand. He lights it with his quirk and lets out a sigh as the cold air consumes him. Snowflakes fall over him in quick succession, melting on his hot skin and clothing, leaving him damp but still warm due to the insulating nature of his quirk. He takes a few long drags from his cigarette and watches the smoke he blows out puff up in the frosty air.
The base that they all stay in is a large tower that oversees the rest of Deika City. It’s a quiet and peaceful town with most of the members being part of the liberation front. They go to bed early most nights so they can wake up even earlier come morning to train for the cause… Dabi almost wonders if the gullible grunts Re-Destro and Shigaraki have gathered and molded are just as bad as the society of heroes they’re fighting against. They blindly follow their grand commander, not questioning his authority or morals, blindly agreeing with everything he says even when it’s not in their best interest. Dabi supposes he’s not much better, though. He’s never agreed with Shigaraki’s morals a hundred percent, but he’s never dared call the man out- especially now with his newfound power, he and this organization could end Dabi in a heartbeat.
It doesn’t matter, anyway, Dabi supposes. While Shigaraki is going mad with power and while his objective becomes more and more questionable by the day, they both want the same thing in the end; to destroy heroes and the terrible society they’ve made since their manifestation.
He isn’t sure why he bothers. His life has been a living hell for a long time and soon enough, he’s going to go up in flames like the rest- probably by his own doing… Hopefully by his own doing. Dabi laughs to himself, mulling over it all. Then, something small comes into view. At first, he thinks it may be a piece of trash or even some sort of animal, but it gets closer until he makes out the familiar shape.
Dabi blinks and burns his cigarette out, abandoning it on the floor of the balcony so he can narrow his turquoise eyes at the red feather that’s just landed on the railing. Is it a coincidence? No, it must be from Hawks. It’s too large to be from a bird. But what does it mean? Is it a signal? A warning? Some sort of fucked up joke? He’s well aware that the pro hero frequently uses his feathers for spy work and wonders if he should light the damn thing on fire, but then he sees something else in the distance- no, someone, and he quickly puts together who it is.
Hawks is flying towards him in a downward trajectory. At least three fourths of his feathers are gone and some of the ones remaining on his left wing are singed at the ends. His jacket isn’t over his shoulders despite the freezing temperatures, instead balled up in his hands and pushed up against his abdomen. The blond’s whole outfit is tattered and there’s blood on his hands and face as he weakly flutters towards the tower.
After what feels like forever, Hawks gets close enough that he’s hovering about ten meters above the balcony. A harsh gust of wind seems to knock the last of Hawks’s energy out of him and send his body falling down to where Dabi’s standing.
Part of Dabi wants to tell the poor bastard to get fucked and go inside so he can enjoy the rest of his  night, but before he can think better of what is arguably a poor decision for him to make, he finds himself reaching out and catching the pro hero in his arms. Hawks crashes into him with a pained groan, wrapping an arm around Dabi’s neck. His wings have given out and he’s too weak to do anything else, so Dabi wraps both arms around him in return to support his weight.
“...Hawks,” Dabi breathes out, too shocked by Hawks’s entrance to say much else. He drags the man inside through the screen door of his suite before the two of them can be caught outside like this by Shigaraki or any of the other lieutenants, locking the door behind them and quickly glancing out the glass of the door to make sure they haven’t been seen. A quick sigh of relief falls from between his lips when he realizes that no one was outside or nearby, but that relief is replaced by confusion the second he notices Hawks is too weak to walk as well. “What-?”
“I… I didn’t know,” Hawks starts, voice raspy. There’s clearly something wrong aside from the basic injuries and exhaustion that are already apparent. Dabi thinks he may have to press for that information as he sets Hawks down to sit on the edge of his bed, only for Hawks to pull his crumpled up jacket off of where he’s been holding it against his stomach to reveal a massive burn wound. It’s ghastly and large, just on the left side of his abdomen, bleeding and fresh. It looks like there’s shards of varying sizes in it, perhaps shrapnel from an explosive or some sort of weapon-based quirk. “I mean, where else could I have gone? You’re not my first choice, but you were nearby and I’m sure this is your area of expertise.”
“You could’ve gone literally anywhere but here… And you chose to come here to Deika city,” Dabi sighs. On top of soy sauce stains, he’s also going to have blood stains on his sheets. That’s going to be a fun lie to come up with if anyone sees his room before he has the chance to wash them… Huffing, the white-haired man goes into his connected bathroom and grabs the first aid supplies. Thankfully, he’s so used to burning himself from overdoing it with his quirk that he has to treat second and third degree burns regularly. When he returns, he sets the supplies on the edge of the bed and glares down at Hawks. “First aid isn’t exactly my forte, dumbass. Best case scenario, you’re going to lose a ton of blood. Worst case scenario, you’re going to die of an infection in a few days.”
“Calm down,” Hawks says with a dismissive wave. “I trust you. You know that.”
“That’s bullshit,” Dabi points out, because truth be told, their relationship is complicated. Hawks may or may not have killed Best Jeanist and brought him to be turned into a Nomu- that much is true, but if Dabi is anything, it’s a good judge of character. He’s well aware that while the other man isn’t completely brainwashed like a lot of the other pro-heroes, he’s at least misguided and intent on staying complicit in allowing them to continue upholding their vile hero-centered society. On the other side of things, Dabi knows that Hawks understands him as well, and that they can’t truly be friends let alone anything more than that… At least they shouldn’t be. Yet, they both frequently toe the line of what is and isn’t appropriate for a relationship that’s supposedly based around their work. “And even if it weren’t… Neither of us should trust each other.”
“Just try your best,” Hawks shrugs.
“Fine. Take off any of the clothes covering your injuries and lie down,” Hawks does as instructed, removing his clothes painstakingly slow for someone who’s supposed to be having a dire medical crisis. First, his shattered visor and headphones, then his boots, followed by his socks, then his tattered shirt and pants. The only things left on are jewelry and his boxers as he lies down on the end of Dabi’s bed. Dabi sits beside Hawks’s left hip on the mattress, his first aid kit in hand. His eyes flicker between the bloody jacket on the floor and Hawks’s injury. “Be prepared for this shit to hurt like hell.”
“Whatever happens happens.”
With that, Dabi gets to work.
“Oh, yeah, because that’s exactly what I need right now- a dead hero on my hands.”
“Think of it this way; I’m sure Shigaraki has explicitly ordered you not to kill me despite your suspicions about my loyalty to the cause, so now you have extra motivation to keep me alive.”
“Tch, fine,” Dabi rolls his eyes for what feels like the millionth time that night as he puts a pair of gloves from his first aid kit on. He rinses Hawks’s wound with saline and dampens some gauze with the same solution. “Only for you would I keep a pro-hero in my god damn bedroom…”
“What’s that supposed to mean?” Hawks shakily replies with a wince.
“Nothing, just know that you’ve only got tonight. You try to mooch off of me any longer than that and I’m kicking your sorry ass out of here.”
“Fine, fine.”
An awkward silence falls upon them. Dabi continues to work, slowly but surely, packing the wound to the best of his ability. Part of him wonders if he should’ve recruited Toga- she wouldn’t rat him out for keeping Hawks here, and she would certainly be much better at tending to the hero’s injury, but part of Dabi wants to be the only one to do this for Hawks. Dabi’s mind races; why would Hawks come here, will he be okay, what does this sort of intimate interaction mean for them, what if Shigaraki finds out about this, and most importantly-
“Who did this to you?”
“Huh?” Hawks blinks, seemingly baffled by the question. “Why do you care?”
“Just tell me who did this to you,” Dabi demands. “I want to know.”
“Tch, what are you gonna do? Kill ‘em?”
Dabi feels his cheeks burn red. In order to keep himself from meeting Hawks’s eyes, he focuses on the wound a little more than he needs to, paying extra attention and being especially gentle with how he covers the packing job. Just to be safe, he tapes an extra layer of gauze over it and pulls out some tape bandages.
“Maybe,” Dabi answers, perhaps a little slower than he should for it to be believable. “Now sit up so I can finish up.”
“Since when do you care so much?”
“Does it really matter? I assume you were trying to capture whoever it was anyways.”
“Yeah, I was trying to apprehend her to turn into the police, not kill her,” Hawks says. He tenses as he forces himself to sit up straight despite the evident pain that’s telling him not to. “Don’t tell me… You’re upset that I’m hurt?”
“So what if I am? You rocked up to my place at two in the morning on Valentine’s Day expecting me to play nurse- I think I have the right to be just a little pissed,” Dabi retorts, wrapping the tape bandages around Hawks’s mid-section to fully cover the wound on his side.
“I’m surprised you’re keeping me here… And that you helped me in the first place,” Hawks sighs and lays back on the bed as soon as Dabi finishes. Against his better judgment, Dabi joins him. The two men lie on their backs, staring up at the ceiling, side by side, far closer than two friends- two enemies- two comrades, should be. Hawks turns his head so he can look at Dabi, and while Dabi doesn’t return the heated stare, he can most certainly feel it burning holes into him. “Why?”
“Because it’s you,” He whispers before he can think better of it. Dabi, usually so calm and so collected, feels himself falling apart. He reaches out to hold Hawks’s hand. Everything that follows is nothing but uncharacteristically impassioned word vomit. “And I don’t know what it is about you that I like so much, but I couldn’t just let you fall and snap your neck or crack your pretty little head open on my balcony.”
“Heh, you like me?” Hawks teases, intertwining their fingers and giving Dabi’s palm an affectionate squeeze.
“It’s not like that,” Dabi raises his voice and snatches his hand away. Briefly, he wonders if this was a mistake. “Are you laughing at me?”
“Yeah? So what if I am? What are you gonna do about it? I’m already injured as it is- you’d have to tear a limb off or kill me for things to be any worse than they are now.”
“You’re annoying.”
“Thanks for this…” Hawks responds. Dabi looks over to see the man smiling at him. “I owe you one.”
“No shit. Seriously, why’d you come here in the first place? Even if you were nearby, let’s not pretend that your injury was life-threatening enough to make you desperate.”
“Would you believe me if I told you that I don’t have anyone else?”
“Really? No family? None of your pro hero friends? No fan girls to spend the day of love with?”
“No,” Hawks answers. He rolls onto his uninjured side- into Dabi- and places a hand on his chest. Dabi freezes at the touch. “I’m not very close with my family and my ‘pro hero friends’ aren’t my friends, they’re my coworkers. The fan girls are… A little much, too. It’s not smart to get attached to any of them.”
“And yet you’re attached to me? Or, attached to me enough that you felt safe coming here, even knowing who I am and what I’m capable of.”
“I didn’t say that I was attached to you at all, Dabi. Don’t put words in my mouth.”
“But it’s obvious,” Dabi points out. “Just like I’m attached to you… You wouldn’t have come here and trusted me to help you like this if you didn’t feel something for me.”
“And you would’ve let me crash on your balcony and die in the freezing cold or ratted me out to Shigaraki and the others if you didn’t feel the same way.”
“So, what? Does that make us friends now? I know you’ve been trying to get buddy-buddy with me for a while. I bet you’re real happy now.”
“Friends? Let’s not pretend it’s that easy,” Hawks says with a sardonic laugh. “We both know it’s not.”
“Does it matter?”
“I guess not. We both know how this ends, anyway.”
“Then don’t argue semantics with me, you prick.”
And for a moment, the two men share a glance; a moment of peace wherein there’s no hero and no villain, no war, no anything or anyone but the two of them. Gold burns into icy blue. Dabi assumed he’d lost his heart long ago, but he’s sure it skips a beat when he feels Hawks’s calloused hand over it through his clothes.
“Dabi?” Hawks starts, love and adoration radiating off of him in potent waves that make Dabi nauseous.
Dabi reaches over to place a hand on top of Hawks’s.
“Yeah?”
“What are we after this?”
“...I think we both know the answer to that,” Dabi says, because he knows deep down that this won’t work. It never could. They don’t have a chance. Putting a label on this would just upset them even more when it inevitably has to end. “Let’s not make this more complicated than this needs to be… I mean, let’s just enjoy each other while we can.”
“Right. I guess we shouldn’t let this change anything… Well, aside from the obvious, that is. Just wanted to make sure we were on the same page! I’d hate for you to catch feelings and-”
Annoyed by Hawks’s bluffing, Dabi interjects.
“I never said that I hadn’t caught feelings, you idiot; just that we shouldn’t label whatever it is that we are,” Dabi rolls over to face away from Hawks. He’s unsurprised when Hawks scoots closer and tosses an arm over his waist. “You better be out of here by the time I wake up tomorrow.”
“Trust me, Dabi, you won’t even know I was here in the first place.”
Dabi scoffs and closes his eyes, unable to shake the uneasiness that comes with someone holding him so sweetly. And, for a moment before he drifts off into sleep, Dabi briefly wonders if this is what love- or friendship, or whatever the hell this is- is supposed to feel like, like someone trusting you to take care of them and offering you affection in return, like the scent of burnt skin and blood and sweat lingering on his bedsheets.
When he wakes up the following afternoon, Dabi is so groggy that he almost forgets what occurred the night before until he sees red splotches on his bedding. He glances over at the other side of the bed to see that it’s empty, but that there’s still a few strands of blond hair left behind on one of the pillows. Then, he rolls out of bed so he can check the bathroom and balcony.
As he expected, Hawks kept a promise for once and left before Dabi woke up. Disappointment threatens to wash over, but at the very least, Hawks was kind enough to leave a red feather on the balcony. Dabi steps outside and picks it up before the winter wind can blow it away, a fond smile threatening to take over his lips as he takes it in, knowing that Hawks will be back soon enough.
What a beautiful Valentine’s Day gift.

We got a kitten and named him luka
Tumblr media
He came from outside and he seemed like he was going to be a soft sweet baby so we named him after her ⬇️
(we also thought he was female for about 3 days but by then the name was stuck)
Tumblr media
And then the cat became mean and lashed out at us whenever we got close... He still loved us, but he was aloof and disconnected... Did some research and realized he was lonely.
And once we realized this, we adopted another kitten
We called him Haru
(which is my girlfriend's name for her version of BNHA Hawks...observe the eyeliner markings on his face, it's important)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I renamed my cat Touya, to better match his attitude and our relationship seemed to improve overnight once I did this.... (Please observe a real gif of behavior my cat is accused of....)
Tumblr media
Please look at our dabihawks/hotwings cats.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
They're in love.

Hawks: *Picking up a fishnet shirt and leather pants in mock disgust*
Hawks: Ummm can you stop leaving your weird goth clothes all over my house!?
Dabi: *Taking off his black band t-shirt and throwing it on the ground at Hawks' feet*
Dabi: Oops! I'm so dirty.
Hawks: *Sighing, resigned to his fate of having a messy, dramatic goth boyfriend*
Hawks: Why do I date you?
Dabi: *He's taking off his pants now* Because I'm a goddamn delight!

Chapter 7: Burned Fingers
Summary: After revealing painful realities to a room of hero students, Dabi and Toga arrive back at the dorms. But getting away from the students doesn't mean Dabi's escaped the demons in his own head.
Excerpt:
Oh fuck, Dabi realized, stomach twisting into a knot as he followed Toga down the stairs. Hawks.
He’d have to tell Hawks.
Of course Hawks wouldn’t care, he’d understand, the hero knew all about surviving, but… Dabi blew out a small cloud of smoke laced with sparks, and steadied himself on the bannister rail.
“It’s not the killing you’re worried about, is it?” a voice whispered in his ear, smelling like cheap booze and bringing memories of dull needles and crude fingers. His temperature spiked again until he fought it down. He was not going to fall apart. Not over something like this. Not just because he'd told a bunch of fresh faced brats a bitter truth. Definitely not because his little brother had been there, staring at him with a stricken expression. Would Natsuo look at him like that too? Would Rei? Would horror turn to disgust—
He stopped that line of thinking right there, gripping the bannister so hard his hand seams began to ooze blood and the wood charred. What was it that Sako and Kurogiri had told him about? The breathing thing? Shit, he couldn't remember. Something about counting and breathing? Fuck. Whatever.
Dabi stayed on the stairs until he felt like he could talk without ripping his own skin off or bursting into flames.
Toga had gained a good lead on him and beat him to the kitchen, which was fine by him. Jin already had her in a full on bear hug, and was crying, because he was the worst sympathetic crier Dabi had ever met before Izuku Midoriya. It had been funny as hell the first time Midoriya started crying, which set Jin off, which got Midoriya crying harder… Shigaraki had shared the video with all of 1-A and it had gone viral through the school. Today, though, the sound of Jin's cartoonish wailing and Toga's muffled sobs grated on his nerves, and he felt the ghost of three pairs of cold little hands tugging on his shirt, begging for attention as they cried just as hard.
“What happened?” Sako asked, setting aside the knife he’d been using to cut celery. Spinner and Hawks looked just as stunned.
Dabi ignored their stares and went to a window, opened it, and pulled out another cigarette. He started to light it, but his quirk flared and he had to stop, so he just put it in his mouth. Left the window open, though, because smoke was starting to seep out from his seams and setting off the fire alarm would be icing on top of this already shitty day.
In short sentences, he told them what happened, and both Spinner and Sako pulled out their phones, probably to text Magne and Kurogiri respectively. That would get a fast response. Kurogiri was the younger member's shadow dad, but that just meant Shigaraki was his first kid. Dabi didn't know if it was because the nomu had been created for Shigaraki, or if Kurogiri just really did love their bratty boss, but he always felt a tiny bit envious of their relationship either way.
Hawks came over to Dabi, pretty gold eyes filled with worry. He tried to get up a smile for his bird, but guessed he didn't do a very good job because the worry just got worse. Hawks tentatively reached up, probably to run his talons through Dabi's hair, but Dabi shook his head. “Not right now, birdie,” he said quietly. “I’m running hot. Could burn you.”
Hawks lowered his hand and nodded, eyes still fixed on Dabi’s. “Whatever you need.”
That calm acceptance of a boundary leeched away some of Dabi's tension, and the knot in his stomach loosened. He'd thank a god if he believed in the bastards.
Of course, the universe in general was ever prepared to throw spitballs at him, so that was the moment Kurogiri chose to open a portal into the kitchen. He liked to arrive before 1-A got back, to let the hiccups settle in first, but this was earlier than usual. Probably the expected fast response to the texts from Sako and Spinner. Dabi’s assumption was confirmed when the first thing out of Kurogiri’s invisible mouth was, “Where is Tomura Shigaraki? Is he upstairs?”
Held on Magne’s hip, little Kana looked around with her big red eyes, the same shape and color as her father’s. Aisho too glanced around, expecting to see Shigaraki. She was a female copy of Aizawa in miniature, including the deceptively uncaring expression on her angel face. That neutral expression turned pinched and unhappy when she realized that Tomura wasn't in the kitchen. He had only missed one of their returns from Kurogiri’s ‘class’ in the nearly two months they’d been at UA, and had felt horribly guilty over it. He’d sworn not to miss another without a very good reason. The girls trusted that promise, and knew "a good reason" probably meant something bad had happened.
Eri, adorable and quiet as Aisho, took the smaller girl’s hand and gave it a squeeze. Seeing those two hands clasped tight, and that head of white hair, made something else twist in Dabi’s chest.
Why couldn’t the past just die?

please tell me everything you can about dabi mpreg 🫶🏻🫶🏻🫶🏻
I can’t think of a lot right now but I am thinking of Dabi laid in bed overly pregnant at just five months carrying twins.
He’s hiding from both Hawks and Tomura. The condom broke and neither knew he could get pregnant and so he’s in hiding in a completely different part of Japan on the countryside with neighbors who don’t care about his past and come by to help him in the morning.
He goes into town and works an easy job as a librarian where he can thankfully sit most of his shift and his boss doesn’t mind if he falls asleep after his lunch break since his boss & coworkers have permission to feel the babies kick and flutter.
One has Hawks wings and the other doesn’t. He’s already been told he’s carrying both their children. Learning he was pregnant with not one but two was a hard pill to swallow. It only got harder when he realized how painful and disabling pregnancy was going to be for him. He was high risk due to his health. Even with his skin no longer held together by staples he was never healthy to begin with.
With pregnancy he found himself either sad, at peace when it was just him and the babies alone at home or content when reading. He didn’t smile much save for when the twins kicked or he ate a craving food. Dabi often wished Tomura and Hawks were with him both during the day and late nights when the twins kept him up late.
He daydreams they would respond well to his pregnancy and that they would be happy in their own way and they could be a family. But he knows reality won’t allow that. Not when Tomura’s goal is too important and Hawks will always be a hero whether owned by the commission or free. Hawks will always choose heroism over both him and Tomura and even their children and Tomura has no room for a family in his vision.
He’s honestly surprised at himself for giving up his years long plan of revenge to take care of them, he was even shocked he kept them. But it just didn’t sit right with him treating his children as less than or getting rid of them when it hurt so bad when the same thing happened to him.
He couldn’t imagine hurting them by just giving them away or seeing them as anything but a part of himself, Hawks and Tomura. And so his decision was made the moment he first saw the swell at the sketchy doctors office looking at the two little blobs on the screen behind blurry and zoned out eyes.
It was hard leaving but he was on autopilot until he made it to where he currently lives. He spent five months adjusting to his new life only for a knock to disrupt him from reading his favorite novel. It took time to get out of the chair and waddle to the front door telling the impatient person he was coming.
He felt an eery silence when he did but shook it off as hormones, pulling his sweater down to try and cover his belly. It would only stay if he kept his hand there and so he opened the door expecting to see his neighbor who would ask for him to watch their dog every few days for when they would leave town on business. He had his eyes on the ground excepting to see Shadow as he held the shirt in place below his belly only to see two familiar pairs of feet and the ends of large red wings.
His eyes went wide and his heart stopped as he was forced to look up. Seeing Tomura and Hawks eyes stuck on his belly was not how he saw his day going and slamming the door locking it was futile since he knew Tomura could just dust it and Hawks could pick any lock if he set his mind to it.
He was so fucked he didn’t think they would find him all the way out here. He didn’t even think they would be looking for him at least not beyond the city. He never expected to be found, he never expected them to truly care or even go looking for him.
He can’t help but panic as he clutches his heart as his hand grips his shirt beneath his belly as his back starts to ache and his feet feel like they’re swelling from standing too long. They’re here and he can’t play this off. Not when the obvious has rounded him out.
Time seems to freeze and he doesn’t know what to do.
The only thought that races through his mind is, ‘what now?’

Honestly, if Hawks' favourite colour isn't blue like the sky, the sea and Dabi's eyes and flames, and Dabi doesn't change his mind on red after he loathed it because of his father thanks to Hawks' wings, then what's even the point?!
