Oooh maybe Mafia and Balckmail for the ask game? With Elrond? Only of you feel like it, no pressure or anything.
[send me 1-3 tropes + 2-3 characters!]
Elrond opened his eyes and saw what should have been an unused surgery room. The plaster on the walls was broken, the pipes in the ceiling were exposed—it was the east wing of the hospital, roped off for renovations that had been "in progress" the entire time he'd been a med student here.
But there were lights on, tools laid out, a patient on the surgery table in front of him—no, a body. That woman was fresh from the morgue, her body bag discarded in the corner. Other bags (full? empty?) lay on the floor nearby. On the counter by the sink was a stack of portable freezer boxes.
"Oh, you're organ-harvesting," Elrond said. That did explain the pattern of missing and mutilated corpses.
There was a clatter behind him as his captor startled at his words. Elrond did tend to wake up unusually quickly—though really, who wouldn't, when handcuffed to an uncomfortable hospital chair?
Dr. Inglewood regained her dropped scalpel held it as a threat as she stalked into view.
"Yes," she said. "But if you know what's good for you, you'll keep quiet about it—or whatever dismal neighborhood your scholarship affords rent in will have another random mugging-gone-wrong, and I'll make a mint off of the fresh organs of a caucasian male age 18 to 35." She sneered. "With your 'family connections', nobody will even blink."
Elrond wiggled his wrists in his handcuffs. They were tight.
"They probably wouldn't," he admitted. "And I like all my organs where they are."
"Smart boy—"
The magnetic lockpick Elrond had tucked into his cuff earlier clicked through the pin on the cuffs. Without losing a second, he leapt up and swung the loose cuffs at Dr. Inglewood's head. She dodged by stumbling back, squawking with alarm. In her distraction, Elrond swept her knees out from under her, grabbed her scalpel, flipped it around and put it to the nape of her neck while he knelt and wrestled her arms up behind her back.
He said, conversationally, "But I don't really think you're thinking through the implications of 'kidnapped and raised by the Fëanorian Mob' either. Ma'am, you are not dealing with an amateur."

listening to the intrepid heroes talk about high school experiences and stuff is kinda funny as a non-northamerican person, bc when i remember what i was doing at the bad kids' age and its
i had already graduated high school by the time i turned 17
i was always just a boring nerd with overprotective and overbearing parents
no money to do much outside of waiting for college to start
i wasn't allowed to work bc. reasons
closeted af + on a shitty relationship
so me being 17 can be divided in two periods:
sad. rotting in bed. coping mechanisms: musicals and a guy that wasn't good for me, apparently.
baby's first semester on premed/medschool/whatever. sad. stressed. really just nightmarish times.
it's not a big deal that i don't relate, bc actually i do, but i just find the difference funny lol

highlight of the day today: the cranky pessimistic doctor actually said really nice things about me today. I had been asking him questions all day and giving my thought process behind things and my theorized diagnoses and then he let me do a cat neuter today and let me close up another amputation and he wants me to do a spay later in the week… but the real highlight was when we were in surgery and he was asking me questions to test my knowledge and then i asked him a question about his suturing and he was impressed with my knowledge and he called me “intuitive” and said I was “precise and mechanical” (probably because im a hands-on learner and because i like to run through everything I’m doing and do things systemically and he noticed all of that about me in just 2 days and he thought i had good approach) and he repeatedly said he thought i was going to be a good doctor/surgeon and he’s seen students on rotations that he knew wouldn’t be good at the job but he has no concerns about me and said i had good skills and instincts and he was sure about me 🥹
#oliver talks#vet school adventures#literally me trying not to tear up in the OR because he said such nice things#like i asked him why he was doing certain throws with the suture and he was impressed that i noticed he was only doing 2 throws#and he mentioned it was because the suture was a different material than PDS (the normal go-to where we do 4-5 throws)#and he said he does 2 throws because it has good memory and at the same time I said ‘good tensile strength’ and he looked impressed#then he called me intuitive and said i was precise and mechanical (but in a good way)#like he was impressed with the way i approach things and because im hands-on with learning i work through things in my head as im hands on#like i will be coaching myself through it mentally as im doing ti physically#and its like he’s noticed my thought process and the way i work and he was impressed with my approach#anyway still crying about this because after the internal med doctors said crap things in my last review and said i wasnt ready to be a vet#and then this ‘real world’ doctor who’s cyanical and disillusioned turns around and says he has confidence in me and thinks im a good vet#that means literally a million times more than anything else ever could#like its this huge difference from doctors on campus in a education setting being overly critical and harsh#and then an actual real world practice practioner basically sang my praises today in his own cranky way#yeah thats like the biggest compliment ever#because its like he’s so honest and brutal about things he doesnt sugar coat anything#so the fact he said those nice things to me today. i know that was genuine and real because if he doesn’t like something he makes it known#but ive impressed him. me. i did that. i impressed the doctor today.#dont mind me im gonna cry now#now i gotta watch all the spay videos again before i do surgery in front of him this week so i can impress him (dont wanna disappoint him)

If you don't mind me asking, if you could choose a JJK character to have their own spin-off story, like a story that tells more of their background or what they were doing during an arc from the main storyline, anything, who would be that character? And if you want to, why?
Also, hope you're having a nice day!
hi !! and of course i dont mind you asking :)
ahh this is going to sound kind of obvious but i would love love love a spin-off story about the heian era or older sorcerers (cough cough angel cough cough uro takako cough cough tengen cough cough yorozu specifically cough cough). not just because of my bias for uro but also because heian era sorcerers are so interesting (and gege chose to focus on the most boring one of them all... but whatever...!!). i wanna know what they got up to ! i want to know angel's backstory and what kind of engineering and inventing yorozu did and how she knew uro and tengen's role in all of it and if they butted heads in ancient jujutsu tech or something i dont know... it has the potential both to be very comedic but also very insightful. i wanna know about that princess with curls in the lake gosho colony too !! what were they all doing !!
i also really really want a proper backstory for yuki, like we get promises of something cool with no follow-up and. yuki was a star plasma vessel. she can hear other star plasma vessels. i want to know what her school years were like, why she chose not to become an spv (like yes we know why, but why though, yk?) i want to know about her friends or allies, why she approached todo the way she did and why she took him in, and what her tutelage was like. why does she ask what kind of girl is your type. and this is because i love her and also because shes the only girl special grade with the most interesting history of all the other boring ones. we were robbed
and then this might go without saying but. wheres nobara and whats she doing. if shes alive and well i would love to know what shes been up to !!!

Okay crew. I have three hours to get out of my apartment and get going to my parents' house. I don't have to pack my mattress or get rid of my furniture anymore because my strong af girlfriend helped me take care of it. I just have to fit what I can into my van (not a lot) and abandon the rest. Then drive four hours. Wish me luck. I'll need it.

Today i flunked another exam and will have to make it up. God I hate playing "what is the first priority" with theoretical stroke patients. I always want to prioritize fall risk and safety and my teacher says I escalate unnecessarily and would be doing unnecessary tests wasting time and energy of everyone (including and especially a patient who has already been through something hellish). But like. Im still hardwired to think "patient complains of dizzyness" = prioritize eliminating fall risks and not "dizzyness" = client sometimes gets a little eye fatigue after reading small backlit text for extended periods.
Blarg. I want to say in an ideal world medical systems would run every test and specialist by every patient "just in case" but the truth is most patients cant tolerate more than 2-3 tests a day if theyre really goin thru it and I DO need to learn to prioritize whats actually relevant and not just worst case scenarios

Aaron getting into medical school and leaving exy behind at Palmetto. He makes some friends, of course, and he doesn’t feel the need to mention to any of them that he’s family friends with multiple professional exy players, including the son of exy himself Kevin Day. He’s moved on from exy and while he’s proud of the Foxes he doesn’t want to be known for it while starting this new adventure.
But obviously he’s not gonna cut ties with the Foxes, so he continues to text them and call them and he’ll be included in some of their social media posts and occasionally he’ll post something with them in it. And his new classmates and friends start to catch on that he’s the Aaron Minyard, former starting backliner for the Palmetto State Foxes NCAA champions, brother of one of the best goalkeepers in the league and close friend of many other professional players.
And Aaron absolutely dreads it when they connect all the dots. Like he refuses to acknowledge that he knows them. People will ask him like “omg do you really know the Kevin Day?” or “is all that stuff about Neil Josten true?” or “are you actually Andrew Minyards twin?” and he’ll just deadpan stare at them and just go “who?” Even worse when someone tries to treat him like a celebrity or ask him about his time as a Fox and he just gives them the most disgusted stare until they eventually walk away.
Yet he’ll keep posting with them he even increases how much he posts with them because he proud of them because he thinks it’s hilarious to watch people get pissed off at him for pretending not to know who they are and then turning around and posting a picture of himself at their games or on their annual vacations.
And when Kevin signs with the team that’s located in the same city that Aaron’s in they start hanging out all the time. They’ll go out to a bar and his classmates are shocked that this kid from their anatomy class is taking shots with Kevin Day. Aaron will just ask them “who” when they confront him and immediately turn back to Kevin to continue their conversation.
Idk just something about Aaron being this random med school kid with 3 of the best professional Exy players trailing him is my favorite thing. Also him being proud of his foxes and showing it in his own asshole way
