Just realised I brought a brand new game in Assassin's Creed Mirage and maybe spent 2 hours max in it and a second hand game in Ghost of Tsushima at less than half the price of AC Mirage and spent like half a day or more on that.
Don't get me wrong both I enjoy for different reasons and thoroughly enjoy playing both but Ghost of Tsushima has captured my mind & heart in almost the same way as RDR2 did when i first got that. I can see myself just running around either completing Fox Dens & Shrines just like how I would go randomly hunting in RDR2 with Arthur & John.
One thing i am slightly annoyed with is how PlayStation only decided on PS5 that they should have a in game time tracker for how many hours you've spent on a game for the owner of that console intead of just having PS friends being able to see them. I would've like to of seen how many hours I've pulled already in Tsushima without asking a friend to look.

outsourcing this to my gamer mutuals: i'm very new to video games, as in i've played stardew valley and am now playing breath of the wild, i'm passable but not great at mario kart, and that's literally it. i'm getting kinda burnt out on breath of the wild so i wanna take a break and try something new, and i was gonna look into assassin's creed: odyssey bc the ancient greek setting sounded really fucking cool but it doesn't look like they have it for switch and that's all i have. give me recs pls ❤️
i think i'd like another open world rpg with a decent amount of combat without it being the main focus of the game. definitely some puzzles (i really like the shrines in botw). i want story and clear objectives but i also want freedom to explore. and i know this is harder to come by but something i really appreciate about botw is that there are multiple possible solutions for things so i can do things the way they logically make sense in my brain, esp as someone who isn't fully versed in game logic. i don't want something that feels JUST like botw tho or ill prob get bored of it quickly

After playing Streets of Rage 4, I hope they'll make a new Super Shinobi game too, maybe titled : Return of the Shinobi.
As much as I love Ghost of Tsushima and Assassin's Creed, I love an retro type of games which reminds me of old school SEGA games.
Tumblr media
What I love about Streets of Rage 4 is that it is something familiar with a touch of nostalgia of the original but new and refreshing.
Imagine if they were to do the same with Super Shinobi, with similar art style and same music composer as the original.
But this time it takes place across all prefectures of Japan instead of going from Japan to America.
Tumblr media
Joe Musashi, the legendary Shinobi returns beginning his journey from Aomori Prefecture all the way down to Kyushu.
So gamers feel like they are traveling across Japan themselves, fighting various villains against the familiar backdrops.
Tumblr media
First mission starts of at Aomori Castle where the villain ninja, Neo Zeed, attacked his dojo, killed his master and kidnapped his fiancee.
Tumblr media
Then he goes to Sendai, the city of Date Masamune, where he fought with his descendant who sides with the villainous ninja.
Tumblr media
Then he goes further down to other prefectures, eventually going to Kansai where he fights female ninjas at Dotonbori, Osaka.
Tumblr media
Then he goes Nara prefecture to fight a Onna Bugeisha, a female Samurai.
Tumblr media
Then the bamboo forest of Kyoto to fight a Yokai disguised as a Miko or Shrine Maiden or Gion to fight a Yokai disguised as a Geisha.
Then he proceed to other places like Aizu, Tokyo, Hikone, Lake Biwa, Mount Koya, Kobe, Chinatown, Himeji, Hiroshima, Nagasaki, etc.
Each prefecture with its own unique songs, theme, villains, backdrops and history.
Tumblr media
The final stage is at the city of Fukuoka, going up the high rise building to confront the Neo Zeed himself.
Maybe Neo Zeed is a descendant of a Samurai warlord who wants revenge against the Shinobi's clan since the Sengoku Jidai.
I'm surprised that no game studio have made this by now. There's a lot of potential to develop to get both new and existing fans.

the way this white ghost armor has been my fav armor like ever. anyway, i finished the story mode of ghost of tsushima..10/10 game. such wonderful plot, characters, action, free world, graphics, just a great game overall. it kept me on the edge of my seat and had me pumped to play. if you have a playstation, i recommend playing this game—you will really enjoy it. especially if you’re a fan of assassin’s creed.
i still have parts of the map to liberate, have to take out about 18 mongol camps. also have many shrines and such to find. then there’s also legends mode i want to try out and a very long side mission that i want to make sure all my weapons are upgraded for. but overall, the game is fun.

I think I figured out why I keep coming back to botw. The way it constructs it's open world is honestly brilliant. I've played a lot of other open world games since botw's release; various assassin's creeds, horizon zero dawn/ forbidden west, stuff like that. And don't get me wrong, I enjoyed playing those games too. But I noticed it got tedious and lost my interest after a while. And honestly, a lot of it has to do with how the maps work. In botw, when you unlock a portion of the map, it doesn't show you the location of anything. Not even the stables show up on the map unless you walk in close proximity to one.
Other open worlds neglect to do this. In other games, locations of things like collectables/boss fights/etc is revealed to you on the map. In botw, they use visual cues to get you to go to a location, whether it's the orange glow of a shrine, rocks formed in a specific way, ruins, etc. What I love about it is you can opt in to have help if you want (sheikah shrine sensor, korok mask, etc), rather than having it automatically unlock for you. Being able to put your own map markers is great too, i wish more games would utilize that feature.
Curious to see if anyone feels the same way, or if you have other opinions!

Sequel to stray where you, and ur three cat besties just get to hang out with the companions. All the cool folks from the first game are headed outside! We’re building a city! There’s a memorial shrine for b12! Everyone is mesmerized by the sky. The warmth of the sun. Momo and Clem are roommates. Doc and Seamus are reconnecting. As the game goes on more and more people move out there. More buildings are built. The dude who doesn’t like music is opening up his shop right next door to the teens recording studio. There are. So many cat toys. Scratching posts, perches, and beds. For the catssss. Tons of little tiny quests. Help may paint the floors and sidewalks by knocking paint cans down. Sunbathe with momo. Dig holes for people to plant seeds in.
At the beginning of the game you can’t understand the robots and they can’t really understand you. But you’re their friend. They know you’re the one who opened the city. And they love you! So you’re welcome everywhere. Over time, the robots start understanding the meows and purrs. You get a device to translate.
All the npc’s can be interacted with in conversation and physically.

I was editing a shot for tonight's poem when my bf shows me a meme-video about Assassin's Creed soundtrack. It should have made me laugh, or smile, but... hearing Ezio's Family in the background simply made burst into tears. Because all it was, now is no more...

Making anime shrines for things that aren’t anime is always hilarious and more people should do it like I have what is effectively a shrine to Connor Kenway from assassins creed 3 and looking at it provides me emotional support akin to “get the fries you’ll need the energy in the coming days” Mikey

so I'm playing assassin's creed odyssey for the first time, completely blind, and I just finished the hungry gods quest, which involves finding a bandit hideout behind a shrine. So I go in, kill all the bandits, only die once to Talos sneaking up on me, and then I head out and get a scene with a woman praying to Hermes, and Kasandra can choose between pretending to be Hermes or saying nothing.
I'm like, my girl kass is the bluntest mf on this island, she's not gonna let this woman continue to believe in Hermes doing shit to help her. But I accidentally press on one of the options, so that's what she does, and I get a quest marker to help this woman out etc.
But I'm like, hmm but ooc, so I load an autosave, but the only one that works is halfway through the battle, so I have to refill these guys, and apparently the game hates me so it spawns Talos right where I appear?? I nope out of there, but then manage to kill Talos, leveling me up to level 5 and giving me access to some of the dlc armour I haven't been able to use. I now look badass as hell. But when I go back through the cave, I don't say anything to the praying woman this time, and now I don't have the quest marker and the woman's last words were like 'im gonna do something real fucked up'
so I think I accidentally diverged the timeline and I don't know if I'm in the bad version yet???

BOTW2 Theory time!
I may have had a moment of galaxy brain (hours before the nintendo direct and I don’t remember typing it xD) over on twitter and I want to elaborate on the theory I have now that we could see the teaser!
Tumblr media
Ok so, after seeing the trailer, I still don’t think it’s gonna be the whole time on the past, but I still think we’re gonna be mind-traveling back in time in some sections, using the memories sistem from the first game. Only, instead of experiencing it as a cinematic, you play through it as the “original character”. If you’ve ever played memories sections on a video game, or the first games of the Assassin’s Creed saga, you know how that goes: you’ve got a clear objective and a few things you cannot do because the character didn’t do them. Obviously Breath of the Wild stands out for the freedom it gives you in completing most tasks, so I think the limitations on this case would just be “don’t die” or “don’t fall from the sky” xDD
I think this because the trailer very pointedly differentiates the Link from the skies from the Link on the ground (or No-Ponytail link and normal Link) using the green garb and the champions garb.
Tumblr media
If you check the trailer, you’ll notice that Sky Link always wears green and ground Link wears blue, even if skies Link’s boots sometimes change, both maintaining the “cursed arm” (have you noticed how we never see their face after the cave scene is over?). Maybe it’s because to do the sky stuff you need that special garb, but if you look at the tapestry from the original game
Tumblr media
You’ll see that the ancient hero wears blue, white AND green (also the glowy yellow hand). This is why I think present Link is seeing the memories of the ancient hero trought the sky trials (to give them a name). In this case he is not proving himself, like he was during the Sheikah shrines, he is gaining the knowledge/power neccessary to seal Ganon once more. Obviously we’re playing through it, but by videogame logic, that’s how it was originally done because it’s the original character doing it, so we’re learning of it. Maybe we’ll even unlock cinematic memories as the trial is completed or in another way, seeing as that’s how the original also told us part of its story.
I also think green cloth Link is the ancient hero because of how Ganondorf looks.
Tumblr media
No, not the dried bacon skin! xD I mean their clothes! They’re both that one shoulder free plus skirt style
Tumblr media
You can see sky Link’s brown cloth under the green part. It’s more or less the same style of garb, with the difference of Ganon’s being longer, and more decorated with gold and stuff (which makes sense if Ganon the Gerudo King in this game too, nothing shows your status like jewels).
This detail would technically make sense if they’re from the same era, and, especially, if they’re from the same society/group of people.... <  <
Which takes me to my next part of my theory! And pure speculation territory xD
Tumblr media
Ok, the green glow, the cursed arm, the ghost arm. What the hell is this (aside from the obvious substitute of the Sheikah slate) and why is it there?
There are small glimpses of it during the trailer, that the sky constructs seem to work with the same energy of the arm/seal of Ganon
Tumblr media
(which, again, sheikah slate 2.0) but, why did it exist, why is just an arm what seals Ganon, and why does the depiction of the ancient hero show him with a glowy yellow hand? Is it their actual arm but with runes, or is it like a prosthetic?
Ok, so, my theory is that it is actually a sort of magic prosthetic. What if the ancient hero lost his arm for a specific reason, and the people that used this green magic (The Zonai maybe) not only gave him a new arm so that he could have two arms again, but for the explicit purpose of stopping and sealing Ganon. Something that seems it’s what’s going to happen to present time Link, the malice takes away his arm, and he gets it replaced by the seal arm.
Tumblr media
Maybe, like with present Link, the reason Ancient hero lost his arm too was because of Ganon, but just not in a lost battle or something.
We’ve already seen on the first BOTW that each race and group of people, while living on the same period, they wear different and characteristic styles of clothing. Think the difference between the Hylians and Sheikah, the first wear a more medieval-european style of clothing (mostly) and the second it’s lightly inspired by traditional japanese (and the ninja theme). And when you look at the Gerudo, the Rito or the Zora (what little clothing they wear xD), again, it’s completely different from one another. So it’s not too wild to assume that maybe if Ancient hero and mummy Ganon have a similar clothing style, they were part of a same group. Which is curious because we know this Ganon is Gerudo, he wears gerudo symbols on jewels and clothing, and ancient hero was almost certainly Hylian, given what we know of him.
This could be because just like in Ocarina of Time Ganon feigns loyalty to the royal family of Hyrule to later seize power. OR, maybe it’s because (bear with me, I’m just having fun here xDD) ancient hero was part of Ganon’s army?
On the first trailer we could see a mural that shows someone marching on a horse, with long hair and the gerudo symbol on his back, followed by what looks like soldiers.
Tumblr media
So it’s probably Ganon with his army traveling or conquering or other stuff. And maybe, Ancient hero was part of that army. What if, just like in the present Ganon’s malice takes away Link’s arm, Ganon took away Ancient hero’s arm?
Why tho? Well, maybe in his endless thirst for power, Ganon did something that collided with ancient hero’s morals, and he stood up to him?
Tumblr media
(Sorry I’m using this one, but I don’t know how to better portray this idea. Also it’s much more juicy and dramatic if Link and Ganon were once friends xDD Just swap bravery for courage. Yes JKRO sucks for what she has said and done)
What if, at that moment, the triforce of courage showed on ancient hero’s hand (it has shown both in his right and left hand in diffferent games, so why not the right hand in this occassion), and Ganon, recognizing the threat, chopped off the ofending arm and left him for dead, prompting all the events that would lead to the sealing of the calamity?
Just a thought xDD
What do you think? Too far fetched? Maybe a bit of possibility? Will Zelda be allowed to DO STUFF INSTEAD OF HAVING TO EB RESCUED AGAIN??? Let’s see what Nintendo gives us, I can’t wait for 2022 to arrive!

would you feel comfortable sharing a little about your Asterion worship? 👀
Oh! I'd be happy to :-)
Beginning with the most important thing: How do we know that "Asterion" is the Minotaur's proper name? :-O Well, according to Pausanias . . .
"In the market-place of Troizenos [in Argolis] is a temple of Artemis Soteira, with images of the goddess. It was said that the temple was founded and the name Soteria given by Theseus when he returned from Krete after overcoming Asterion [the Minotaur] the son of Minos" (Description of Greece)
Giving a name to the bull has been such an integral part of my Asterion worship. In my eyes, it gives him humanity, and it tells me that he was more than just a nameless beast . . . Someone had cared enough to name him . . .
When I speak my prayers to Asterion, I show my love and respect by addressing him by name and title (e.g. Lord Asterion, Great Prince Asterion, Asterion of Krete). I also compose poems in his honor, singing praises of his beauty and strength. To me, he is the warrior of all warriors.
Besides prayers and poems, I provide him with traditional offerings (typically red wine and honey cakes). I also preform devotional activities for him :-)
Such as:
Researching his mother (Pasiphaë) and grandfather (Helios)
Reading up on ancient Krete
Appreciating nature and my time outdoors
Spending time with my mother
Drawing, singing, and dancing
Working out
Thinking back on my childhood memories and traumas
Volunteering for local organizations that help children in need
Playing Hades and Assassin's Creed: Odyssey
Speaking of Assassin's Creed: Odyssey, in the game, there are shrines to Asterion :-D
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I hope to use these as inspiration for my own Asterion hero shrine 💕

What makes Dishonored your favorite game?
The biggest thing for me was the lore and the atmosphere. No game I've played has ever had such a well-incorporated feel and sense of immersion to it like Dishonored except for Bishock 1, which is incidentally my second favorite game of all time lol. The lore is brilliant, the world is creative, the atmosphere is spectacular, the soundtrack is to die for, and it taught me a lot about how to create a city and a world and a system of myths and religion and tales and perspectives.
The way it's set in a steampunk/clockpunk/fantasy world where whaling is the primary source of energy is brilliant. The books and papers and notes you can read throughout the game are endlessly fascinating, and the different perspectives you come across in writing on certain characters throughout is especially interesting to me. Granny Rags is amazing, Slackjaw is great, the Loyalists were quite a unique set of allies, and Daud is probably my favorite antagonist of all time.
The stealth and magic system is the only one of its kind I've ever come across, and literally no other game compares in quality to stealth missions and chaos systems and gameplay except maybe Assassin's Creed, and that depends on which game we're talking about. After playing Dishonored I legitimately scoured the internet for games like it that had good stealth/magic and nothing else was as good.
Also, I love the exploration of classism and the critiques on society. The main antagonist is the game is vile, and the reveal for why he did what he did will always stick with me. The Boyle party is my favorite part of the game despite my beef with the low honor choice. Largely because of a) the aesthetic, which is breathtaking throughout the entire game but especially on this mission, b) the boyle sisters themselves, who are very complex and who you can learn a great deal about through exploring their home before even meeting them, and c) the fact that even in this rich person's mansion, as all these wealthy and privileged people dine on a vast amount of food making small talk while the rest of the city starves and dies and bodies pile like mountains in the flooded district, there is still blood on the floor.
The disconnect when hearing the rich wonder why they're also dying to the plague is well done, too. The fact that they never even considered they would be vulnerable because they judge the lower classes so much.
The heart, which is probably the greatest part of the game, spilling secrets and giving you knowledge. A horrifying companion that tells you everything about the world you're in. It's such a great way to incorporate more lore as well as highlight the complex lives of the characters you're surrounded by. Even a random man wandering the street has a story the heart will tell you. I like that. I like how even the side characters feel fleshed out. There's no part of that world or that city that doesn't have a purpose. There's no piece of that game that feels worthless. You point the heart not even at a person but at a place and it will tell you the secrets of the world. That's the type of worldbuilding I admire. That's the type of lore that means something to me.
The religion is cool. The Outsider is interesting. The void as a concept is genius and the way its explored is so incredibly compelling. I love the way magic and religion are tied together. I enjoy the way cultism is explored. I ADORE the abbey and the religious corruption and how tied it is with the government. Just the entire setup of the government/accepted religion/'heretical' religion is really great.
There are dozens of ways to complete the missions and explore the city. Playing the game without powers is fun af. You are a rat bastard. I love the rats in this game. I love the powers in this game. You can have charms made out of bones and you can find shrines to the outsider and you can teleport in front of your allies without them even going "hey! why does this dude have a strange heretical marking on his hand?!" The powers are fun, the void is fun, the dynamics of the game are fun. It's just fun. I mean, maybe a bit too easy now, imo. I have to set it on very hard and make sure its basically unbeatable to really have a challenge anymore.
Corvo as a character seems dull at first when you don't get much of his story in the first game, but his potential and the pieces of his history that are dropped occasionally by npcs and his relationship with emily make him pretty fucking stellar, imo. You learn more about him and his relationships with people as the game progresses. The way the world changes is so interesting.
Like idk, I could go on but this is already enough of a ramble. It's just... really good. It was also the game that got me back into videogames. I had a massive gaming slump for about five years where nothing interested me. I gave Dishonored a try and loved it so so much I started playing other games again. Luckily I then played Bioshock 1, and that passion didn't immediately die. So really it just holds a sentimental place in my heart as well. Also I majorly shipped the Corvo/Jessamine/Daud OT3 you guys have no idea.

can you tell facts about yourself? reading your tags make me curious
this ask has been in my ask box for quite some time now, sorry. I don't know what kind of facts you expect but since I'm deep in my gaming mood with the blizzcon i guess I'll just share with you some gaming facts (mostly):
- I never played Mass Effect as F!Shep. I know that it's the version that is considered Canon within the ME community (and I respect it) but -bless Jennifer Hale nevertheless- to me the only default Shepard will always be its male version. And I swear it's not because of the Shakarian bromance.
- I hate Nintendo and I just want it to disappear and burn in hell, like Disney. And I hate myself even more for buying their consoles for my sister and some of their games (okay that's only Fire Emblem and a few Mario games but it pains me to even give them 1€, they fucking don't deserve it).
- While I always scream about how much I love Hien in FF XIV, my fave character is and will forever be Alphinaud. My dear son.
- I have a lot of controversial opinions, like Dead Space 3 and Resident 6 are two of my favorite games. Or the DmC reboot was a good game.
- I own more than 1000 games,if not a lot more. But I'm a cheater, there's a huge number of games that I own on various supports. Like RE4 that I bought.... 5 times. Or the whole ME trilogy that I bought on every support. Or RE6 that I own 3 times. Don't ask me why I do this, I don't know.
- Emet Selch is the best FF antagonist. Screw Sephiroth and Kuja (i still love you guys).
- I'm mainly playing on PlayStation consoles. But I play on everything. Consoles (both Microsoft/PlayStation or even Nintendo... At my biggest demise), pc and smartphone.
- I used to be a very competitive player back in my Uncharted 3 multi-player days. Did lots of world tournaments with my team and it's probably the greatest memory I have. I was also ranked 93th in the world ranking on tekken 6 on x360 like a millenia ago. Lili rocked 👍🏻
- Two out of my three tattoos are video games related. I have Sic Parvis Magna (a quote from the Uncharted series) written on my left arm and Ashe's tattoo from Overwatch on my right one.
- Black Flag was the best Assassin's Creed and the series died with it. Though ironically my fave assassins were the Frye twins.
- I don't think I've ever told anyone but I used to be addicted to video games to a serious degree when I was in middle school. I won't go into details because that's not the point here but despite my addiction that nearly got the best of my mental state back in the days, video games are what saved me, literally. I'm very dedicated to the topics about video game addiction because as a former addict, I know what it feels like because I've been through this and if I can help people in need, I will do it. I would like to add also something important: video games helped me to control my anger and violent behavior.
- I cry a lot over fictional characters. But who doesn't?
- When I was younger, I built a shrine in my room for dead characters. It all started because of Zack Fair. Bless that man. It was mostly a box with dead characters names written on paper near candles, and I prayed to them but I don't remember when specifically. I think I had decided different dates but I'm not sure.
- While I can understand why people are against it, I'm actually all for remasters and remakes.
- My first video game crush was Juto from MC II. A character that obviously no one knows.
- I hate what Naughty Dog has become. I miss the days when Amy Hennig and Christophe Balestra were still here. Everything changed because of Druckman and well... I don't like it. While he did excellent work on TLOU1 and U4, I just can't stand the guy.
- I once finished a game without actually looking at the screen, not even once (okay that's a lie, maybe 10 minutes). Context: I was trying to play Layers of Fear 1 but that shit was so scary that I couldn't even play the game without shaking like hell. So I asked my little sister to guide me through the game while I was controlling the character, as I was hiding in my blanket. That was a funny experience tho, we laughed a lot (I know you won't ever see this but love you, baby sis, you're the best)
Wow, that's horribly long, I'm so sorry. I didn't think I'd have this many facts to give about myself. Hope it's enough for you tho.
Thank you for the ask, whoever you are! o/
