I drew the picture in the background in 2015. The title is "Digital vs. analog - The innermost". It depicts the interplay of "opposites" at different recursion levels:

Black vs. White

Black-white (like a boolean B or W) vs. Monochrome (like x%B and y%W) (shades of grey)

Monochrome vs. Colorful

On top of that photocopy of my drawing from 2015 I added a puzzle piece-shaped tile with the words: "The whole is more than the sum of its parts, as it contains both the parts as well as the interaction patterns between the parts." as top layer. (I drew the puzzle-piece-shaped tile and quote last year.)

100 days of productivity 29/100

Found out from a friend that if I want to do biology then I'd probably have to do it at SRC so I've sent a query about it and hopefully it's something I can do and that doing it will be beneficial. I'll be sad to see art go tho 😔 (I know I can handle a lot but 5 ALevels would be pushing it...). Did a lot of homework today and gave a teacher my work xp form. Watched a couple more self improvement 🧠 videos and cleaned my retainers (those cleaning crystals could really do more ;-; ). Also I worked up the courage to ask my art teacher so miss class because I have my piece at home and I'm finished everything else. It will be refreshing to finish it early 🌱.

Devlog 23

Got some sweet backgrounds finished this week. First one is the near-background for the graveyard within the Yokai Forest. The second one is a much nicer looking near-background of the Yokai Village

They were both really fun to work on! I might spend some time refining the pine trees in the village background though, something looks a little strange about them.

Other than working on backgrounds, I spend a TON of time working on pausing mechanics. Something so simple ended up being so tough. At this point, I'm starting to think my specialty is leaning more into pixel art than coding...which is weird considering my software engineering degree.

Anyways, thanks for reading. If you've gotten this far, then I'll go ahead and let you know that I'm planning on creating a release trailer soon! Keep a look out for that and spread the word <3

I didn’t sleep last night… because of the fire ( see previous post) anyway a long day was ahead of me:

• Mails

• Phone call with our group for the art and education assignment.

• did some research afterwards on the “ the starry night” by Van Gogh + notes.

• had a phone call with the girl I have to do my epistemology oral exam.

• Duolingo : Portuguese

• had a facetime with my long distance best friend while working on digital humanities.

• went for a little walk.

• Study a little bit of didactic in maths.

• reorganized my computer desk.

hating that every ultra fem/frilly/cute aesthetic gets called creepy. first lolita. then the selkie dress trend. now coquette. almost no one is thinking about men and how men will view them when they're painstakingly putting on 300 ribbons and bows i promise you

#lolita is part of harajuku fashion so it can be argued. at least from my pretty outsider view #that its specifically counterculture since it openly goes against the feminie 'ideal' in japan in its own way #selkie was made by a woman i think #checked and yes #coquette has origins in some sexier aesthetics but its become so blended with lolita and similar styles that its #lost a lot of that origin imo #also someone feminine looking pretty isn't always about men i thought wed been over this like a decade ago #people on tiktok seem to be going backwards in their feminist takes these days but after 'girl math' i shouldn't be surprised #coquette has been in resurgence (?) as a nail art trend that looks very much like it borrows some elements of classic lolita which is why #im mentioning them both in this very no nuance no context post #because those types of manicures are a Lot of work and money to put into somethign (most) cishet men will see as frivolous #like. a lot of sets of coquette inspired nails i've seen recently are being priced by techs at $200+ #because its not just the standard extension it has detailed art and 3d decoration or sculpting #anyway i'm especially mad that this is now comign from other feminine-presenting people who call themselves feminists as i just had to see

Will really work on getting my hours up for next week. Min 2 hrs of study

A semi-productive day. Started off really well! Woke up at 5.15 and finished the math homework due next week! In school I finished a chapter slightly ahead than the others in math, and art is going well but physics always just drains me and I need to look at some more resources to help me understand it better (& do past papers too, will do some tomorrow). I've also got to practice more math in chemistry. I'm just not reading the questions and I just don't know what's going on (I know what's happening in the subject but I'm just getting confused by the questions and I don't know why).

That is a hefty paragraph 😅

Will try to go to the library to study next week and have most of the painting done for my final piece (board part)
