Kovit: I’ll deal with Fabricio. You take care of Adair.
Nita: Okay, but how do I make it look like an accident?
Kovit: I’m not suggesting murder! Just talk to him, like a normal person!

My favorite story trope must be "(surpressed) minority of people with special ability", closely followed by "gay".
Just "gay".
That's it.

So I’ve read the market of monsters books, but I’m also reading the not even bones webtoon as it comes out and can I just say, my FAVORITE thing is reading the comments. These people don’t know what happens next and I love seeing what they’re thinking as the story unfolds.

Kovit: (in a pillow fort) Hey Nita!
Nita: You’ve got to be kidding me.
Kovit: Pretty cool fort huh? Get in!
Nita: No way I’m getting in that unstable cushion stack.
Kovit: What if I let you be the queen?
Nita:
(Later)
Diana: Kovit, Adair says you have to take the fort down now.
Nita: You’ll have to fight the queen first!

[Long post] I started to read the Webtoon Adaptation “Not Even Bones”, from the triology “Market of Monsters” originally written by Rebecca Shaeffer.
And I really liked it.
It's not finished yet but I can tell for sure it made me wanna buy the book triology.
The character development of the main character (Nita) is sooo interesting, and of the secondary characters too.
Everything have an importance in it and the choices made by Nita are always explained in several ways. Even if you're not okay with her, it's written in a such certain way that you're just like “I don't like this but yeah I see watchu mean, girl. Go on !”.
I'm also very happy to see Queer representation and serious subject like racism, systemic oppression, PTSD, etc. used as a real thing in the story. Like it has directly consequences on the characters that affects theirs life. It don't just exist for the drama. What a relief to see it's taking very seriously by the author (and the rest of the staff as well).
I wanna talk so much about it but lemme finish the triology first 👀

ik there's a lot of debate about how palia is mixing heavy lore into what's supposed to be a relaxing, coxy life sim but also like,,, i feel like the way they're doing it now is literally fine?
the lore is definitely part of the world and the quests, but there's literally no in game timer or consequences. nothing bad happens if a player doesn't want to complete the temple bundles or skips lore dialogue or puts certain quests on the back burner (and you can choose to not see certain quests on the main ui so there's no stress there either). like,, i get that the lore Is heavy and that some people don't want that in their cute farming sim but again, there's literally nothing forcing players to interact with or care about it. i genuinely do not see the issue??
