Louis and Lestat: In the original book Lestat literally turns a 5 year old little girl into a vampire to trap Louis in their loveless, abusive relationship, because he knows Louis will worry about Lestat (whom Louis now recognizes as a remorseless monster who sees humans as nothing but food) using this child (Claudia) as a tool and creating the most evil and messed up surrogate child of all time. (He was right, btw, bc she grows into a woman trapped forever in a child's body and hates them both for it. but this isn't about Claudia.)
In the TV series, Lestat is a white devil offering aid, sympathy, and love to a gay, closeted black man in the 1900s. He offers him company, capital, a friend who sees him as an 'equal' Once he turns him into a vampire, his desire to possess and control Louis becomes apparent. He displays TEXTBOOK narcissistic and abusive partner behaviors, apologies for how awful he was, promises to change, makes romantic gestures to try and smooth things over. They start having an 'open relationship' where Lestat loses it over Louis taking advantage of being able to see other people. Lestat writes a love song for him and sends Louis a recording sung by the woman he's having an affair with; Louis confronts him at the singer's apartment and they have angry sex in her bed.
Late in the TV series, they get in another fight, and Lestat literally drops Louis out of the sky and leaves him paralyzed, with Claudia (in this adaptation, a young woman who is more like a sister/mother to Louis) to nurse him back to health and re-teach him how to walk. Louis still takes him back.
In both the book and the TV series, Claudia convinces Louis that the only way they can be free is to kill Lestat. In both, they poison him, slit his throat, and dump his body in a swamp. In the TV version, Louis sobs over Lestat's dead body, refusing to allow Claudia to burn him and ensure he can't come back from it. (Spoilers: he gets better. and he's pissed about it! He follows them to Europe.) Their gay divorce drama eventually results in the destruction of an entire enclave of over 400 vampires in Paris and the death of their surrogate daughter.
Ha-im and Geunhu: The whole premise of the story is that Geunhu keeps killing and cloning Ha-im in order to make their relationship perfect. Once Ha-im finds out, that still doesn’t stop him from repeatedly killing her and trying to wipe her memories.

Victor and Elizabeth, The Dark Descent of Elizabeth Frankenstein: As a child, he didn’t want to be separated from Elizabeth even for school, and he didn’t react well to Henry kissing her. As an adult, he’s much worse, orchestrating her best friend Justine’s death not only for his experiments but because he was jealous of Elizabeth's love for her.
Hawa and Adam: Hawa is a sweet girl best friends with Rozy, Adam’s neighbor who rightly suspects him to be a serial killer. It’s implied that he genuinely grew to like Hawa in his own way, but initially sought to date her to antagonize Rozy further. The relationship moves quickly and he begins to isolate her from friends, especially Rozy.

Han Chae-ah and Park Yunsu; Lots and lots of mind games between this vampire and the taxi driver who realizes he’s murdered someone. Within the first three chapters he’s tricked her into burying the body of his victim and blackmails her into being his food delivery woman, essentially. And that is only the beginning.

Scarlet and Chase: Scarlet is a grim reaper seeking to find out what she did in life that was so horrible that it would damn her to the ninth circle of hell. Chase is a former police detective fired for shooting a suspect in a fit of rage. At first, they both use each other; she sees him as a way to unlock her past, and he sees her as a way back into the police force. But upon revealing the truth, they become partners in crime, vigilantes killing those who escape justice. Enemies to allies to friends. He even says he’d torture a man who is implied to have abused her while she was alive. Eventually, they become so codependent that Scarlet is willing to let the earth be destroyed and heaven and hell collapse together if it means he’s safe, and he uses the power of God to create a safe world for her and their best friend at the cost of his life.
PearlescentMoon and SMajor: they're soulmates who share all sensations. Yes, they both used this to repeatedly torture each other. SMajor refused all attempts from Pearl to establish a relationship until he was truly desperate, letting her slowly go insane on her own, sleep-deprived with only a dog for company. In the end, Pearl cut a bloody swathe through several people, including SMajor's long-term relationship, until SMajor killed himself and by extension Pearl rather than live on in the empty world with her.

Emma Wilson and Yohan Lee: While she’s at first seen as a victim of a controlling boyfriend, it turns out there was no boyfriend; she’d been harming those who hurt her herself. Yohan doesn’t seem to have much of a problem finding out the girl he likes is quite different than who she truly is, and even helps her avoid being arrested no matter what.

Maven Calore and Mare Barrow from Red Queen series (tbh this is pretty much staple YA bad boy and protag girl ship except the protag girl is really done with him. He basically acts super nice to her for a whole book before betraying her in the end and throwing her into execution and discrediting her on TV. Then in the next book he straight up brands her with an M and tortures her to the point of her wanting to literally die. At the end of the same book she gives herself up to his yandere ways to save her friends and the next book is mostly focused on them being at each other's throats while Mare is imprisoned by him(which involves draining her powers and more mind breaking torture)and basically being used as a piece of propaganda. Lots of mind games and fucked up power dynamics);

When she gets her second chance, she decides to become Dylan’s tutor and groom and train him into becoming a tyrant who will prevent such things from happening and get revenge for her. She encourages his possessive and obsessive behavior, and is SURPRISED when he turns out worse than expected.

It got bad enough she repressed all her memories of him, which he takes advantage of by pretending to be a girl in order to re-enter her life.

Binghe and Shen jiu : Very fucked up, in the alternate timeline LBH chopped off SJ's limbs in revenge for SJ being an abusive teacher. In canon, LBH ends up falling for the transmigrator inside SJ's body. It's the third most popular ship for this book on AO3.
Jung and Seol: so much miscommunication. Seol believes that Jung hates her at first, and then he suddenly starts acting nice to her. She overthinks everything while he is developing into a yandere, and mysterious people from his past are starting to interfere…

Valeta and Reinhart: As a friend of mine said, “the most warped childhood friends to lovers ever”. Reinhart was given to Valeta as a child by her abusive father as a “pet” for her. Valeta, having reincarnated into the story and knowing Reinhart eventually massacres the whole household, wants nothing to do with him. But this only makes him fixate on her, down to sparing and kidnapping her once the massacre happens.
Beefleaf: SQX is targeted by a demon who prays on fear and suffering as a child, which is intending to drive him to suicide and suffering. Having no other choice, SQX's brother SWD uses a ancient technique to switch SQX's fate with another person with the same name and birthdate. <-That's He Xuan. Using HX's fate, SQX(unknowing)'s life gets better and better, and eventually ascends to godhood with SWD. On the other hand, HX, with SQX's fate, is now the target of the demon and his life gets worse and worse. His family dies one by one gruesomely, and HX finally snaps, killing everybody who wronged him before dying from exhaustion. As he lays dying, he sees SWD standing over his body. Filled with resentment, he returns to life as a ghost, intent on finding out the reason for his suffering. He devours the demon who tormented him, and rises to become one of the four most powerful ghosts, earning the moniker "Black Water Sinking Ships".After realising what SWD did, he swears vengeance. He kidnaps and takes the place of another newly ascended god, Ming Yi. HX, now MY, befriends SQX in the heavens to get close to him and his brother, awaiting the day he could take his revenge. During this centuries-long time, SQX and MY become best friends, nigh on inseparable. Finally, the day of reckoning arrived. HX takes on the form of the demon to reveal the truth to SQX, before kidnapping SQX. When SWD arrives to rescue him, HX gives him and ultimatum: either SQX must kill SWD, or SWD must swap SQX's fate with that of a madman's, leaving him to suffer. SWD creates a third path, angering HX until HX rips SWD's head off in front of SQX. SWD dies with the knowledge that he won, that no matter what happened now, he and his brother had gotten all those years together, while HX could never get his family back again. His last words are " My fate is up to me and not the heavens!" In the aftermath, HX strips SQX of his godly power, leaving him to live as a crippled beggar for the rest of his days.
