Do u think mario and Luigi act like each other as a response to trauma?

I don't think so, but i do think that they...

Pick up on a lot of each other's habits by virtue of being brothers who lived their entire lives together

Find each other to be inspiring in their own special way Luigi has a strong desire to be brave like his brother. He pushes his own boundaries while following after him, and exhibits shame in his inability to defend himself.

Meanwhile, we can see that Mario makes a conscious effort to play it safe and keep his mouth shut much the way Luigi does... even though Mario often ends up caving to his own bullheaded determination in the end.

I think instances where they act like each other are less a trauma response and more an effort to self-comfort and find balance.

You really wanna play with emotions, huh? Fineee.

So, Mario was the first one to know and the first who supported Luigi's identity.

Luigi suffered a lot, locking himself into the bathroom mostly, when gender dysphoria kicked too hard. He didn't want to bother his brother with it at all.

There were moments when bullies told him he will never be a true guy and Mario made sure, Luigi never forgot how much he supported him and how much of a guy Luigi actually was.

Mario went to each doctor's appointment, supporting his little bro's fear of needles and the doctors. And even witnessed Luigi's first Testosterone injection.

And of course Mario was the first one to be there when Luigi woke up from his top surgery.

Bowser and you met at a ball. He attempted to crash it and kidnap Princess Peach. You were a royal guest invited from another country in hooes of building political relationships.

I'm not going to say it was love at first sight because honestly it wasn't. He thought you were attractive but not enough to refute his affections for Peach.

It took a number of different encounters, one of which included an accidental kidnap by koopas who had assumed you were the princess merely because you were in her room at the wrong time. It's what happens when rooms are dark and you are snooping for political affairs.

You were only locked up for three hours honestly and you were treated well so it was a little disappointing to say the least when you found out you weren't the one being kidnapped by an obsessive and tall king.

When you do realize you feelings for one another it's only because of Mario being annoying and loud. Honestly. Bowser has shown up to another one of peaches many parties and Mario was yelling at him to leave, finally having enough yous stepped forward and gave that short Italian man a peice of your mind.

Having defended him in public, this is what cause bowsers attention. Wow. What a royal. No one had ever stuck up for him like this before. Definitely not someone who had such a high reputation in aristocratic society.

Thoughts on Pauline? I know she’s not in the Mario vs Donkey Kong remake but in the spirit of those games I just wanted to ask

I'm neutral on Pauling overall, as a kid I liked her alot more over Rosalina. I was soo hyped when she appeared in odyssey, although it had me reevaluating the lore and my life. LIKE SERIOUSLY-

Pauling is the mayor of New Donk City but does that mean that the og lore doesn't exist or is Donk City = New York?? If so, Does the pipe that Mario and Luigi took doesn't exist anymore? I decided not to think about it for a looooong time, BUT BRIGHT SIDE! I have thought of a theory/headcanon that solves EVERYTHING! I just don't know if I should tell you all yet.

I know Im a lazy bear when I don't have the right motivation to do something, which is why alot of stuff are just in my bucket list but I have a Mario Galaxy comic idea that helps explain my theory more naturally and help explain my overall hcs for my Mario universe.

Anyway something that always got at me as a kid was when people said the Mario is cheating on Peach with Pauling. I was deep in the Mario shipping trenches, but in order to please my inner demons I have the now headcanon that they're bitter exes.

Neither of them are bad, just bad for each other. It's just consistent arguing and clapbacks till Luigi got tired of sleepless nights so he begged Mario to finally cut it off. Now the used to be high school sweetheart just passively aggressively insult each other on the tennis court. But hey I guess thats no different to how Mario acts with any competition.

Peach and Pauling are cool with each other but Pauling just doesn't understand why a Princess would lower her standards for someone like Mario. Although Peach explains she just doesn't understand her decision and thinks Peach should have gone with the nicer brother.

Peach would like to talk or have tea time with Pauling if only she wasn't flustered and intimidated by this tall lady.

he is the coziest comfort character to me! he was my hero as a kid and i had such a crush on him so here we are!

Ok I have some random head canon for the Mario series

Hear me out:

Luigi and Daisy as a couple are perfectly imperfect, what I mean by this is that Luigi and Daisy never hide their flaws, they just show them out right on accident . Luigi is always showing that he is an anxious push over and Daisy always shows that She is a bit of a clumsy and hyper woman (clumsy is kinda a way I like to describe Daisy for some reason) . The two show all blemishes and I think it’s why they get along so well, it’s also why I like to think that they know each other really well and know when something is off .

Mario and Peach are more subtle with their flaws, I like to think that Mario and Peach usually hide their flaws from each other, and sometimes those flaws can kinda be the same . Peach hates showing weakness, Mario hates feeling small and weak, Peach tries to look like she knows what she is doing, to show that she knows how to be a princess or to rule a kingdom; Sometimes,even if she appreciates it a lot, she hates it when Mario saves her, it shows weakness to her; Peach doesn’t want Mario to think she is weak and doesn’t want Mario to get frustrated with saving her all the time. Mario tries to act strong and resilient to show Peach that he can not only take care of her but also the kingdom she resides in . Mario feels at his most stress when he is loosing or showing a breaking point . Both Mario and Peach fear of looking weak to each other . Sometimes it’s hard for when the two want to express emotions, but when they do express, they show a lot of it even if they try to keep it together.

I've been doing a bit of research, and it turns out in New York City you are required to have at least seven years of experience to become certified as a "master plumber." A minimum of two of these years need to be spent as a "journeyman plumber," where you're licensed to repair pipes so long as you're working under the supervision of a master plumber.

Mario and Luigi can't legally run their business if they're both journeyman plumbers, but that would mean (if they are really both 24-25 like Shigeru Miyamoto says) at least one of them began training to be a plumber the instant he got out of high school. But if that's the case, how did they end up working in demolition?

My theory is that, since demolition companies sometimes locate and strip fixtures in commercial and residential properties for reuse or resale, plumbing fittings included, The Wrecking Crew hired the two plumbers-in-training to spot salvageable materials and take them apart. But if Foreman Spike happens to have a bone to pick and/or is on a power trip, I can easily imagine him adding hard labor on top of whatever plumbing-related jobs they were assigned until their schedule was filled with far more wrecking than plumbing.

But eventually, Mario got all his hours logged, passed his master plumber exam, got his commercial activity license, and got him and his brother the heck out of there. Which brings me to an additional theory that Luigi is still a journeyman plumber and not yet a master plumber.

There's a few bits of Nintendo lore that describe Luigi as something of an "understudy," or otherwise not quite as experienced as his brother in the realm of plumbing.

Which makes sense given the way Luigi seems to take on the apprentice role, closely watching the way Mario works and carrying around all the tools.

I think Luigi didn't immediately know what he wanted to do the moment he graduated high school the way Mario did. Maybe he dabbled in mechanics for a little bit before he ultimately decided to join his bro in his plumbing venture, but as a result he's a few years behind.

I feel like of the two of them Mario is actually the more artistically-inclined brother so here's some rambling headcanons about artsy Mario:

It started when he was in grade school. Art class was always his favorite, and he would come home covered in paint or have dried clay stuck in his hair—anything that made his mama's life difficult. She basically had to hose him down every day.

He struggled with emotional regulation a lot as a kid, getting into fights and getting in trouble with teachers, mostly because communicating was difficult for him. Art served as a good outlet, and he could use it to help people understand what he was feeling, so his teachers and parents tried to encourage it.

As they got older, Mario showed more and more interest in art (and showed a lot of skill), but it wasn't as easy to pursue as it was when he was younger, so he started to fall out of practice.

It was mostly a combination of money and expectations. Nice art supplies that will last are expensive, and he would go through sketchbooks like they were nothing, so his parents couldn't keep up. He'd still doodle in lined notebooks when he had the time, but that's about all he could do at home.

Expectation-wise, the discouragement mostly came from his father. Papa Mario is a practical man, and he knows that art is not a practical career. He didn't mind it as a little hobby, but he started to advise Mario to take more useful electives in school instead of art classes. Luigi was very STEM-oriented, which set a sort of precedent in the household, and Mario internalized the idea that pursuing art would somehow be letting his brother down (how could they grow a life together in the future if Mario was a starving artist?)

Into adulthood, he all but gave it up entirely. He was absolutely the one that designed the logo for their business, but that was just about the only art project he was able to do.

That is, until they got sucked into the Mushroom Kingdom. It took a while for the subject to come up, but eventually Peach found Mario admiring her paintings in the castle, and he mentioned offhand that he used to love art.

She is thrilled at this little piece of information! She immediately sets aside time for them each week to do art together. They take supplies out to different places in the Mushroom Kingdom and have picnics together, painting and drawing the landscapes they see.

Mario is just as messy as he was when he was a kid. Peach falls into a fit of giggles the first time she looks over to find globs of paint stuck in his moustache.

But he's also really good. He picks it all back up right away and improves quickly. Peach is impressed, and so tickled by how happy it seems to make him, so she sets him up with his own private studio in the castle, providing him with any and every art supply he could ever dream of. He's overwhelmed of course, but so, so grateful.

He'll draw and paint almost anything, but he especially loves to make portraits of the people he loves. In Superstar Saga, the bros' house has a big portrait of Peach, and I think he painted it himself.

It was never supposed to see the light of day honestly, just sitting in a corner in his studio gathering dust, but one day he walked in to find Peach holding it and admiring it.

He was wildly embarrassed, but she was just flattered and amazed at his talent. She had it professionally framed for him and never stops telling him how much she loves it every time she comes over.

It isn't until later on, when Mario visits her private wing of the castle for the first time, that he finds an awfully similar portrait of himself painted by Peach in a matching frame hanging on her wall.
