Daminette December Day 25- Joke

An explosion shook the building, dust flew everywhere, and the noise deafened the ears of everyone unfortunate enough to be in the area. As the haze of debris settled down a figure could be seen, followed by several other people, coming through the new hole in the wall.

"Well, well. Looks like we have a party going on here. Hope you don't mind my explosive entrance." The following cackle caused shivers to run down most people’s spine. "I know it's rude, but they always say to show up late to make a dramatic entrance and well… I do think my presence deserves some drama." 

Marinette rolled her eyes. It wasn’t even a good joke, they were at a restaurant not a party. She looked away from Joker and across the table to where Damian was sitting, or rather where he had been sitting, as he was no longer there. Glancing around she failed to find him

“Alright everybody! Down on the ground, jewelry and wallets out and into the bag. And you,” Joker pointed a gun at one of the waiters. “Get all the cash in this place and bring it back.” He tossed another burlap sack at the man, who went running off somewhere.

Getting on the ground, Marinette reached up to her earrings and slipped them into her pocket when no one was watching. They didn’t look valuable when they were disguised but it was better to not take any chances. She marked the exits from her position and the location of each henchman and the Joker. The best plan was to wait until Batman and his associates showed up, but even the best plans usually failed.

At the table next to where she was sitting, a child began to cry and one of the henchmen came over to quiet the kid. “Shut up before I make you shut up!” The parents tried to hush the child and while the child quieted down, it wasn’t enough for the villian. He raised the butt of his rifle to the kids face and Marinette couldn’t sit still any longer.

Quicker than is possible for most humans, she launched from her position on the ground straight at the enemy, tackling him to the ground. The rifle knocked out of his hand, screams sounded out around them and the footsteps of his accomplices were just barely perceptible. Finishing the fight swiftly, Marinette punched the man once in the face, strongly enough that the man was knocked unconscious. Getting up, she faced the four other goons of Jokers. It was too late to back down now, but she also couldn’t fight well in the dress she was wearing. 

“That wasn’t a funny punchline, miss.” The cold tone of the Joker’s was far more intimidating than his previous jolly and psychotic attitude. “How about I teach you what a real joke is like?” With his hands he motioned the henchmen to fight her and Marinette tensed, waiting for the first shot. 

The first shot wasn't from the villains though. A whoosh sounded through the air, followed by a thunk as a batarang embedded itself into the wrist of one of the assailants. Not wasting a moment, Marinette grabbed a plate from the closest table and flung it like a frisbee at another opponent– three down, two more plus the Joker to go. One goon turned towards Marinette, while the other turned to where Robin appeared from the kitchen. 

They didn’t leave many openings as they pointed their guns at them. It was only when her opponent came closer in order to grab her that Marinette got the chance to act. Seizing the barrel of the rifle, she aimed it upwards, then sliding her left foot forward, she got low and slammed her shoulder into the man’s solar plexus, knocking the air out of him. Then turning them around, she twirled the gun out of the henchman’s hands and into her own, pointing the gun at Joker. Meanwhile from his own position, Robin was also simultaneously disarming and taking out his opponent.

  “Oh great! You want to do anything right, you've got to do it yourself.” With those words, Joker pulled out a device that looked like a tear gas canister. Pulling the trigger, a plume of noxious green gas came out. The people closest began laughing, their faces contorted into forced smiles. “See, now we can all have fun together.” The Joker laughed again before he raced towards the entrance he made when he first arrived at the restaurant. “See you around Robin, Miss Robin. Tell Batsy hi for me.” 

Both she and Robin wanted to run after him but the restaurant guests came first. Robin had a gas mask he could use, and a spare one just in case, which he gave to the closet victim. Marinette meanwhile, set the gun down and made do with a cloth napkin she swiped from one of the tables– not highly effective, but better than nothing. Then she and Robin began shepherding people out of the enclosed space. Just as people were leaving, the police showed up with the paramedics in tow. 

“Thank you for your help, ma’am.” Robin came up behind Marinette, scaring her so badly she almost punched him in the face. “But you should worry about your own safety first.” 

She nodded, knowing full well, she would ignore his advice. “Robin, I’d like to ask you a favor. Can you look for my boyfriend? Damian? He was with me but disappeared when all of this first started.” 

The hero stilled before answering her question. “I’ll send him your way if I find him. Now I should get back to helping the first responders. Please see a paramedic in the meantime.” Something about his tone and mannerisms caught Marinette’s attention.

As she walked over to the ambulances, she looked back and then shook her head. There was no way that Damian and Robin were the same person. I mean, what were the chances. Out of three of her ex-partners, three of them were also superheroes, it seemed improbable that Damian was one too.

Welcome to the Timari Servers first Live Event

Shutterbug Station

There are two teams, Angst v. Fluff, and only you all can decide who shall be the true victor.

On each day a prompt will be revealed that corresponds with either Angst or Fluff depending on the day. Your goal is to create something that fulfills the prompt!

Trauma Train Tuesdays are dedicated to Angst prompts while Fluff Freight Fridays are for Fluff with some bonus prompts sprinkled in!

We’re aware full calendars can be daunting and too much for people so this gives people a chance at a break while also keeping them on their feet when the day arrives for their prompt to be revealed and gives them time to complete their prompts.

Choose which team you wish to support (you are allowed to join both), make content for them, and post! If you post it on the day their prompt is revealed, you’ll get an additional 5 points.

Guidelines:

• You do not have to sign up to join

• To be counted, all works must be submitted with links in the provided form X

• You do not need to be in the server to participate! Just tag correctly, add fics to the ao3 collection, and be sure to submit the link in the form for it to be counted

• While we are a Timari Server and would love more Timari content, we are aware of the constraints of that and absolutely support other pairing submissions

• Any creative works are accepted

• Label your works correctly

• Follow the prompts, but each person is given 10 free cards (10 things can be submitted that do not use the prompts)

• You can join at any time!

Daminette December Day 27- Dress

(Prologue to Day 19- Hands)

It was the dress that caught his attention first, the color was distinct from most of the other outfits at the gala. Distinct from the sea of black, gold, and white dresses and suits, she chose fuschia for her gown. Floor length, the skirt fit the silhouette of her body as it wrapped around until it gathered together at the waist. And Damian wasn’t too knowledgeable about fashion, he thought that the use of two different types of fabric for the neckline, worked very well for the overall design of her dress. 

The next thing that caught his attention was how she was standing off to the side, her position in the banquet hall was ideal for avoiding useless social necessities. Considering his desire to escape his own useless social interactions in the form of his siblings, it seemed like the best place for him to hide for a while.

When he made it over to where she was standing, he thought about introducing himself, but he hesitated. If her goal was to avoid people, she probably wouldn’t appreciate the greeting. So he simply stood next to her and observed the rest of the hall.

Marinette was surprised by the sudden arrival of the man next to her, not that he spoke to her, which came off as a bit rude, but she brushed it off thinking that he probably didn’t want to interact with the other guests at the moment. Otherwise, she had no clue why he would be hanging out in this corner of the gala, furthest from anything exciting happening. 

The second thing Marinette noticed about the man, after his behavior and anti=social personality, was the suit he wore. It was atrociously bland, a simple black tuxedo, and sure, the fabric was high quality, but fashion was more than just pricey fabric. For the next ten minutes, she stared off in space as she thought about how she would redesign the man’s suit.

Valentine's Villains: A Valentine's Day Event

The Maribat Server Mod Team, of our own free will and without having been kidnapped, would like to announce that this year we will be celebrating our fandom's favorite villains!

If you've been following us for awhile, you may remember last year's Valentine's Day card event, "Heartthrob Heroes", but since we all know that villains are way cooler, smarter, sexier, and way more likely to succeed in everything they do, we decided, without any threats against our friends and family being made, to celebrate the better side of the super community this year!

If you'd like to join us in celebrating the best of the worst, all you need to do is 1) open up this link (x), 2) choose your villain, and 3) share a word you think describes what's best (or worst) about them. You can submit as many times as you want, for as many villains as you want, and if there's one particular word that you think really needs to be known by everyone, submit it multiple times. The more times you submit a word, the bigger it'll be on the final card.

You have until February 10th to submit your words, after which point our mod team will begin turning your words into art so that we can be free-- er, we mean, so we can all celebrate Valentine's Day together!

Oh, and did we mention that this was a competition? The 3 villains with the most submissions will be our ultimate Valentine's Villains, which is a great honor, basically equivalent to ruling the world, and definitely not the sort of frivolity that would warrant stabbing anyone.

Last but not least, as the best villains are naturally the one's we love to hate, you are allowed to include negative words in your submission list this year! Please keep in mind though that our mod team will have to suffer the consequences of anything truly insulting, which is to say that we'll have to read them, because we're definitely not being held hostage or anything, so let's remember that this is all in good fun and submissions of truly derogatory words will be dropped.

Maribat Mix & Match Monster Mash

GRAVE

Prompt:"I'd like to take a bite out of you."

“I’ve never really celebrated Halloween before.” Kagami stated as she finished covering Cass in green body paint.

“Same…,” Cass adjusted so Kagami could work on the details on her skin. “My bothers showed me scary movies.” Kagami nodded but was focused on adding fake blood to her skin.

They both decided they wanted to celebrate Halloween together. Cass had been learning about how to scare people for the holiday and wanted to help Alfred out with handing out candies. Jason said the trick is just as important as the treat, so together they came up with a plan.

Kagami was glad to help. She wanted to truly experience Halloween with friends. “I need to move in closer.” She warned Cass as she adjusted to lean in closer to paint the details on her face. At some point they had adjusted to where Kagami was sitting on Cass as she laid back. Neither reacted to their closeness, they just enjoyed the quit as she work on her make up.

Their faces were only a few inches apart when Cass barely whispered “I’d like to take a bite out of you.”

Kagami suddenly became very aware of their bodies. The warmth of her underneath her and her own face burning. She froze taking everything in and the implications of her words. Her thoughts were broken as Cass spoke again, “I should paint a bite mark.” She pointed to Kagami’s exposed arm.

All the tension between them left in that moment. “Yes, that’s a good idea.” She smiled down at her as she added the finishing touches. They finished each other’s make up sharing few words, but relaxing in each other’s company.

…

After all their hard work they waited in the grave yard outside the manor for trick-or-treaters. As soon as Cass heard the first group of kids approaching, she popped out of the dirt of an empty grave. Reaching her arm out at the children trying to make her best zombie noises. As she continues to crawl out of the grave Kagami drags herself through the grave yard calling for help and clutching her bleeding arm.

In no time all children run away screaming. Cass has already pulled her self halfway out of the grave. Kagami looks over to her with slight concern, “Did we do this… Halloween right?”

Cass shrugged in response before continuing to pull herself out of the dirt.

“Isn’t there supposed to be treats,” Kagami was still puzzled by this Halloween plan.

“I do believe you have scared away all the children before they could get candy.” Alfred stated, coming out of nowhere.
