(for context, half these people have literally just escaped being marooned on a desert planet. They *haven't* been shaving)

EDIT: I tried to post some photos of Kirk, Spock, McCoy, Riker, Picard, and a bunch of the guys from Enterprise as a point of comparison, because all of them demonstrably DO have body hair. But that was just too sexy for the Mature Audience filter, so just. Know that's a thing, I guess.

Character Interactions: Enterprise

Comparing interactions between characters based on lines of dialogue, using data from TrekViz in turn based on transcripts from Chakoteya. The overall look uses all the characters in the TrekViz data, and the main cast uses only characters in the opening credits (Archer, Hoshi, Phlox, Reed, Travis, Tucker, and T'Pol). Names are the same as those on the TrekViz data, and interactions are defined as "the number of consecutive lines the two characters shared". For a very general overview of the franchise at large, see here.

Tables are read as, of all the interactions that the character of the row had, _% were with the character of the column, and charts are structured similarly (the column splits up all the interactions that that character had). There is a distinction between the make-up of a character's interactions and the make-up of others' interactions with them. This focuses on the former, but the latter can be easily extrapolated. Characters' interactions with themselves are in italics.

Archer leads the way with lines by far, with T'Pol and Tucker coming in second. Then there's, in decreasing order, Reed, Phlox, Hoshi, and Travis, and all our minor characters (Soval, Soong, Malik, and Degra) only peeking in at about 1% each.

Then comes the general overall interactions.

As noticed previously, Archer generally dominates interactions across the board, with the sole exceptions being himself (his primary interaction is T'Pol), and Malik (who interacted mostly with Soong).

Of course, some characters talk more than others and are thus almost guaranteed to have more interactions simply because of that (particularly Captain Archer there), so subtracting the percentage of lines from the percentage of interactions yields a 'corrected' or representative interaction percentage.

On the table, the far right is the sum of the absolute values of each characters' representative interactions, so shows how much they differ overall from what what be expected solely from comparative number of lines. From that, we can see that Malik does have the most divergent interactions and Hoshi the least.

Cutting out all but our main characters, who remained consistent over the four seasons, results in the following:

Cutting out the minor characters really doesn't change much, given the tiny percentages they each made up of the overall number of lines. Archer, T'Pol, Tucker, and Reed all gain a little bit, and that's all.

Still not much difference in the interactions, although it's a lot easier to see comparisons without all the secondary characters never interacted with taking up space. Archer quite consistently made up a large percentage of everyone's interactions, and to the surprise of no-one, Travis was quite consistently on the low end of everyone's interactions. Archer, Phlox, and Tucker all interacted with themselves more than they did with Travis.

Correcting for percentage of lines, Archer immediately stands out, with a much lower rate of interacting with himself and the highest overall discrepancy. Second highest discrepancy comes from T'Pol, who has a significantly higher percentage of interactions with Archer and significantly fewer with herself. The smallest discrepancy comes from Hoshi, followed by Phlox. The characters with the greatest number of lines have the biggest discrepancies as regards interactions with themselves.

Breaking it down on a character by character basis, we can see that Archer comparatively spends a lot of time interacting with T'Pol, and none of his interactions with the rest of the crew being particularly notable. The highest among them is Reed, and Travis is the lowest.

Hoshi's highest interaction is with Phlox, and she spends a bit more time than expected communicating with Travis, Reed, and Archer, in that order, and thus comparatively less time interacting with Tucker and T'Pol.

Phlox has two interactions that stand out: spending a good amount more time interacting with T'Pol (the alien outsiders aboard the vessel relationship the writers wanted to develop) and less time with Reed. Hoshi is also a bit more common, as is, just barely, Archer. Travis and Tucker are both not interacted with as often.

Reed's biggest anomaly is the high amount of interaction he has with Tucker, as well as a reasonable amount with Travis. He doesn't interact as much with T'Pol or Phlox, and is only slightly more likely than probability would suggest to interact with Archer or Hoshi.

Travis's interaction rate with Reed is quite high (about as high as Reed's is for Tucker), and he also has a slight positive interaction rate for Hoshi and Tucker. He's distinctly less likely to interact with T'Pol or Phlox, and a bit less likely to interact with Archer.

Tucker has two standout interactions: T'Pol and Reed. He also has a slight positive rate for Travis, but negative for everyone else, particularly himself and to a much lesser extent Archer.

T'Pol is much more likely to interact with Archer, and also shows positive interaction rates with Tucker and less so with Phlox, and with slight negative rates for the rest (although Reed's is a bit more low than the rest).

The greatest positive rates (more interactions than would be predicted by the percentage of lines and thus indicative of more interactivity and closer relationships) are Archer and T'Pol, Reed and Tucker, Reed and Travis, and Tucker and T'Pol. The lowest rates (characters who for whatever reason just didn't interact as much) are Reed and T'Pol, Travis and T'Pol, and Phlox and Travis.

Gosta de demarcar seu espaço e não gosta quando pessoas mexem no que ele clama ser dele (isso incluí tanto pessoas, quanto bens materiais), ele não vê problema em usar violência abundante para punir a pessoa que ignorar seus avisos sobre suas posses.

Harry Edward Styles (ESTP-A)

Nascido em Reddich, Reino Unido, no dia um de fevereiro de mil novecentos e noventa e quatro, tendo atualmente vinte e seis anos, Harry é um homem carinhoso e extrovertido, mas que as vezes abre mão da interação social para ser observador.

Tem grande facilidade para agir em situações sociais, entretanto, prefere ouvir do que falar, é considerado uma ótima companhia e sabe como consolar alguém, mesmo que apenas com sua presença.

Não gosta muito de falar sobre si mesmo, ou seja, não é o maior fã de se abrir e colocar seus sentimentos na mesa, pensa que é uma exposição muito grande de algo muito íntimo, seu humor pode se tornar agridoce quando Harry luta contra si mesmo internamente.

Diferentemente da irmã mais nova que tem toda sua personalidade curiosamente espelhada na do pai, Liam é uma mistura perfeita do pai e da mãe, afinal teve a presença de Audrey por poucos, mas significativos seis anos.

Observador, pensa muito antes de esboçar qualquer ação ou posicionamento, se sente responsável por dar um bom exemplo a Skyler, então procura sempre agir do modo mais correto e educado possível.

Desde os quatorze anos quando se mudou para Las Vegas, foi instruído pelo pai para futuramente administrar o negócio da família, se tornando parcialmente rude pois foi moldado por Anthony em seu conceito de “filho perfeito”.

Por viver com a obrigação que deu a si mesmo de proteger a irmã mais nova dos surtos alcóolicos do pai, colecionou traumas na adolescência por ser constantemente agredido fisicamente e psicologicamente pelo homem que um dia se orgulhou de chamar de pai.

Después de todo este tiempo Tyler reiteradas veces dijo que con gigi eran solos amigos y que su relación no debería ser pública, ¿pero si son amigos que quiere decir con "relación"?.(esto lo dice el 24 de septiembre 2019).

Después de un tiempo la revista US Weekend el 3 de octubre, reveló que gigi y Tyler rompen luego de 3 meses de relación.

En noviembre Gigi vuelve a hablar con Zayn, pero en Diciembre queda embarazada (gigi y zayn vuelven en enero), así que si se descarta a Zayn solo queda la opción de Tyler.

Luego de 20 semanas la familia hadid anuncia el embarazo de Gigi, supuestamente siendo Zayn el padre, con este dato se da a ente drr que gigi quedó embarazada por la primera semana de diciembre donde aún no hablaba con Zayn, pero si con Tyler, saquen sus propias conclusiones.

Si nos ponemos a hablar sobre el entusiasmo de las familias de la bebé, los malik no han dado ninguna muestra de interés por la nueva integrante de su familia, solo Safaa y Trisha, quienes son las mismas que siempre hablan o se dan con interés hacia las barbas se Zayn, al cambio el padre o hermanas de Zayn quienes han recalcado que no les agrada gigi no han demostrado una pisca de interés. Jared: Sim, tem sido um ótimo ano para compor. Esses tempos têm sido desafiador para muitas pessoas ao redor do mundo. Acho que há alguma luz no fim do túnel. Para mim tem sido uma habilidade não viajar muito e estar em casa tem sido muito bom. Então escrevi bastante, cerca de 100 músicas e andei me preparando para novos filmes, meio que aprendendo a ter um novo tipo de rotina. É algo bonito. 

A: Você faz parte do Universo da Marvel, pode nos contar sobre seu personagem?

Jared: Com certeza, eu interpreto um cara chamando Dr. Michael Morbius. Um cientista brilhante que infelizmente tem uma doença rara no sangue, então ele pesquisa a cura e ele encontrou, mas, claro, algo deu errado. É meio que Jekyll and Hide, é muito divertido, tem bastante ação e aventura. Estou animado, esse personagem nunca esteve na tela antes então eu tive a oportunidade de fazer algo novo. 

A: É muito épico estar no Universo da Marvel. Há muitos ganhadores do Oscar nesse filme. Há uma cena de The Little Things, é um thriller psicológico. Eu notei que você fechou seus olhos. Você é um dos atores, não gosta de assistir a si mesmo?

Jared: Sim, não dormi muito. Foi uma transformação total. Eu mudei a cor dos olhos, coloquei uma prótese no nariz e entes falsos, e outras próteses. Mudei o jeito de falar, de andar. Foi muito físico, foi muito fascinante mergulhar nisso. 

A: Foi realmente uma transformação na tela. Obrigado por aparecer, foi ótimo te ver, amigo.

ISLAM 101: Muslim Culture and Character: Morals And Manners: Proper Attitudes Towards Parents

We will now examine the Qur’anic teachings on the ad- ab toward parents. In the Qur’an God commands, “Your Lord has decreed that you worship none but Him alone, and treat parents with the best of kindness…” (Isra 17:23). It is notable that two of the central themes of the Qur’an are men- tioned one after the other. The first is tawhid (divinity, God’s Oneness and Absolute Unity), which is the most important theme of the Qur’an. Immediately aftertawhid, God decrees that we must treat our parents well. “Treating parents well” is further explained in the Qur’an (17:23–24) with five main principles. If one or both of (your parents) grows old and is still with you:

1. Do not be impatient when caring for them.

2. Do not reprove them.

3. Speak to them in a gentle, endearing manner.

4. Lower the “wing of humility” to them.

5. Pray for them thus: “My Lord, have mercy on them in the way that they cared for me in childhood (and reward them for the way they cared for me and raised me).”

Abu Baddah al-Tujibi recounts that he asked Said ibn al- Musayyab, “I have learned all the verses regarding goodness to par- ents. But there is one I do not understand. What does ‘address them in gracious words’ mean?” The scholar answered, “This means that you should speak to them as an employee speaks to the employer, and not be harsh to them.” (As with everything in Islam, intention is also extremely important.) Parents sacrifice their lives lovingly for their children, and what the child must do is to show sincere respect for the parent, to serve them willingly, and to try to gain their approval. They should always say gentle and endearing words to their parents. After setting these principles for how children should treat their parents, God also warns those who insincerely or unwillingly care for their parents that their inner situation is not hidden from Him: “Your Lord bestknows what is in your souls (in respect of all mat- ters, including what you think of your parents). If you are righteous (in your thoughts and deeds),then surely He is All-Forgiving to those who turn to Him in humble contrition” (Isra 17:25).

God Almighty further says in the Qur’an, “We have enjoined on human in respect of his parents: his mother bore him in strain upon strain, and his weaning was in two years. (So, O human,) be thankful to Me and to your parents. To Me is the final homecoming” (Luqman

31:14). This verse orders that we treat our parents well, and men- tions the physical hardships that mothers undergo such as preg- nancy, childbirth, and nursing, as well as the emotional bond be- tween mothers and children during the first years of life. The verse then goes on to enumerate theadab or principles of etiquette that one must use towards parents:

[Revere your parents;] but if they strive with you to make you associate with Me something of which you certainly have no knowledge (and which is absolutely contrary to the Knowledge), do not obey them. Even then, treat them with kindness and due consideration in respect of (the life of) this world. Follow the way of him who has turned to Me with utmost sincerity and commit- ted himself to seeking My approval. Then, (O all human beings,) to Me is your return, and then I will make you understand all that you were doing (and call you to account). (Luqman 31:15)

This section of the Qur’an shows that we are to care for the needs of our parents and treat them with gentleness and respect, even if they are not Muslims. Islamic scholars pay great attention to the interpretation of the following sentence: “treat them with kindness and due consideration in respect of (the life of) this world.” Generally, it is agreed that one should spend time with parents, seeing to all their needs, such as food, clothing, shelter, and so on. We should never speak harshly or cruelly to our parents, but ensure that their medical needs have been provided for and assist them in all they require in this life. This is confirmed by the fol- lowing episode from the time of the Prophet:

Abu Bakr’s daughter Asma relates: “My mother, who was still an unbeliever, came to me. (Unsure of how to treat her,) I asked God’s Messenger, ‘My mother has come to see me; she wants to talk to me. Should I be kind to her?’ God’s Messenger answered, ‘Yes, show her the respect and kindness she deserves.’”45

The following verse, just like the fourteenth verse of Sura Luqman, states that the weaning period for a child is two years and refers to the pregnancy and nursing of a child as consisting of thirty months:

Now (among the good deeds) We have enjoined on human is the best treatment towards his parents. His mother bore him in pain, and in pain did she give him birth. The bearing of him and suckling of him (until weaned) is thirty months…. (Ahqaf 46:15)

The verses we have examined so far emphasize the difficulty that mothers undergo in pregnancy, birth, and nursing as the basic reason for the order to treat one’s parents well. If we make some effort to understand more deeply, there are more important in- sights to be gained. We can see that the verse at hand begins with the same command that is found in the fourteenth verse of Sura Luqman; however, it then continues along quite different guide- lines. This difference, as I will attempt to explain, takes the form of a prayer, which includes four parts:

When he has reached full manhood and forty years of age, he says, ‘My Lord! Arouse me so that I may be thankful for all Your favors (life, health, sustenance, faith, submission, and more) which You have bestowed on me and on my parents, and so that I may do good, righteous deeds with which You will be pleased, and grant me righteous offspring (so that they treat me righ- teously, as I treat my parents). I have turned to You, and I am one of those who have submitted to You.’ (Ahqaf 46:15)

Adults can use this prayer to ask for God’s mercy and bless- ings, for a closer bond with God, and a peaceful and balanced social life. Ibn Abbas said he heard the Prophet say, “Whoever looks at his mother or father with mercy, God grants him the reward (for that gaze which will be the same) for a valid hajj.”46

In connection with not upsetting or disobeying one’s father, Ibn Abbas reported that the Messenger of God, peace and bless- ings be upon him, said, “When a father looks at his child and the child makes the father happy, the child is given as much reward as if he or she has freed a slave.”47 Abu’d Darda heard the Prophet say, “The father is a major door into Heaven. A person can choose to abandon this door or choose to protect it (keep it open).”48 Another important hadith on the topic of pleasing fathers is con- veyed by ‘Abdullah ibn Amr ibn al-As: “The Prophet said, ‘The pleasure of God lies in pleasing one’s father and God’s displeasure lies in the father’s displeasure.’”49

Adult children can still gain blessings in the name of their par- ents after they have passed on, according to God’s word. A hadith explains this:

Abu Usayd Malik ibn Rabi’a al-Saidi recounts that a man asked the Prophet, “O Messenger of God, after my mother and fa- ther are gone, is it still possible for me to do good for them? What can I do for them?” The Messenger replied, “Yes, you can.” He went on to advise us to:

1. Pray for them, ask God to forgive them,

2. Carry out their last will and testament,

3. Remember to visit our parents’ relatives,

4. Send gifts to our parents’ friends.50

God’s Messenger also warned those who did not visit their parents or care for them while they are still alive.

Abu Hurayra related the following hadith of the Prophet: “Woe to him, woe to him, woe to him!” said the Prophet. When they asked, “Woe to whom?” he gave this explanation: “Woe to the one who has one or both of his parents grow old with him, and (still) cannot make it to heaven.”51
